It was finally Friday night, and I had been excited to go and see Peter perform all day. I couldn't seem to get him out of my mind. 

He had such a kind smile, and eyes. Goodness, his eyes! I seemed to float away from reality when I thought of him. 

It's wrong. He's so much older than me. He'd never be interested in some college kid anyways..

I had a hard time with trust and guys in general since an incident had occurred a few months back. He led me on, flirting with me, and eventually making me develop feelings for him. We kissed once, and then he completely avoided me. 

Such a bastard.

I was still very upset and shaken from the whole thing. The bad thoughts of the past slipped entirely from my mind as I walked through the cafe door and saw Peter on stage with guitar.

I was sad to see that there were only a handful of people there. He deserved more than that.

His playing was wonderful; it completely captivated me. 

He was singing an acoustic version of the Monkees song Take A Giant Step. The lyrics hit me like never before.

Come with me I'll take you where the taste of life is green
And everyday holds wonders to be seen.

Come with me, leave yesterday behind

And take a giant step outside your mind

As he sang this line, he looked directly at me. It sent a chill through my entire body. 

After he finished, he left to take a short break. He caught my eye once again and I saw him coming towards me.
