So I'm really having a hard time writing chapter 16 this week so I'm gonna have to take a rest and update next week. I'm not gonna be keeping any promises, but I'm gonna try to upload two chapters next week to catch up.

To kinda make up for this week's lack of updates, I'm gonna reveal some facts about Tainted Perfection and what it was about originally. Don't worry there won't be any spoilers.

1. Tainted Perfection was originally entitled One Week, then I changed it to My Unexpected Lover (which btw, is the cheesiest title I managed to come up with in my entire writing career), then I changed it again and settled with The Boy Who Loved Him. Then I realized how much it spoiled the old plot of this novel so I changed it to Tainted Perfection.

2. The story had a sequel. I'm probably going to scrap the sequel entirely since the story changed so much. The sequel's title was The Man He Once Loved and was later changed to Tainted Memories.

3. Joanne never existed in the original story. Tony's little sister actually died of hypothermia when they began to live in the streets after their mom committed suicide. I also named Joanne after Lady Gaga whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta.

4. Originally, Tony is a very sarcastic character. Now, he's more melancholic and mature. In the recent version, he's 20 turning 21, but in the original, he's just 18 like Todd.

5. In the original plot, Tony found out Todd's stepfather was his dad who left him when he was just ten years old. So technically, he's Todd's stepbrother. That's a telenovela moment for ya'll! This time, no more stepfathers and melodramatic twists.

6. Gray Parker's original name is Drake Collins.

7. Tainted Perfection used to be a fanfiction of Chennelle's The Rent Boy/s. The original story actually had the other rent boys in it such as Tyler and Mitch.

8. Todd is an overprotective, possessive asshole. I thought they were hot, not anymore. I'm actually annoyed by the fact that I used to find these behaviors romantic

9. Tainted Perfection was set in England. I changed it to Los Angeles, USA.

10. It was originally entitled One Week because the original plot was basically Todd renting Tony for a week to help him explore his hidden desires. I figured that was very similar to the plot of The Rent Boy so that plot was trashed. Also, I find it ridiculous that Todd would fall love with Tony within a week. Just no.

11. Tony had a girlfriend named Abigail. She was the most irrelevant character in the book and did not do anything to help with the flow of the story. I got rid of her in the new one.

12. Unlike the new Todd, the original Todd was as naive as a newborn baby, then somehow, for no apparent reason at all, he became a sexpert. Ugh.

13. The original story took place sometime in 2015.

14. There was no ROY G'BIV in the earlier drafts.

15. Lastly, the sequel actually had 15 chapters (as far as I can remember) before I decided to take it down.

The original may have been better grammar-wise since a very close native English-speaking friend of mine did edit it for me, but when it comes to plot and the overall tone of this novel, I believe the recent one is better.
