Chapter 16
Harry knew he'd regret his decision. But he didn't know what else to do at this point. It was this, or deal with months of court.
He adjusted Bella on his hip, bouncing her higher before he pulled open the cafe doors. He heard a little jingle above him, making heads turn in his direction.
"Hello, table for two?" An older waitress asked.
"Um, actually I am looking for someone. We were supposed to meet up here."
"You must be Harry! Yes, a lady told me she was waiting for you. Follow me, dear." The older lady said, and began walking off, leaving Harry to follow after her.
His heart raced, and his palms felt sweaty. His head spun, and he thought about turning around and leaving. But it was too late now. He had seen her before she did. She sat in a booth in the back corner, away from everyone else.
"Shall I get a booth for the little one?" The waitress asked Harry, making Mackenzie's head snap up.
"No, thats alright." Harry smiled politely at her.
"Shall I start off with drinks then?"
"Just water, and milk for the little one." Harry answered. She nodded, and wrote it down in her notepad.
"And you, miss?"
"Coffee, please."
"Coming right up."
The waitress left, leaving them in an awkward silence.
Mackenzie opened her mouth, her eyes scanning over Bella.
"Wow, look at you Isabella. So grown up, and beautiful. You have my eyes." She commented lightly. Bella turned towards her father, confused and scared of the stranger.
"Daddy? Who that?"
"Bells, well this is your mother."
Bella didn't make a sound, and it worried Harry. A two year shouldn't not talk.
"No, I don't have mummy." Bella finally said, making Harry fight back a grin.
Mackenzie's jaw dropped, and hurt flashed through her eyes. "Isabella, you do not say such things. That is very bad of you."
Bella stared at her mother, before turning her attention to her father. "Daddy?" She whispered. Harry hummed, nodding to his daughter to continue. "I don't like her. She mean."
Harry threw his head back in laughter, holding onto Bella tighter.
"What did she say? What is so funny?" Mackenzie asked, her voice coming out harsher then intended. Harry shook his head, chuckles still falling from his lips.
"Nothing, don't worry about it."
"I will worry about it. I want to know what my daughter said."
Harry sighed, lightly shaking his head. "She said she doesn't like you. You're mean."
Mackenzie gasped, and then reached over the table for Bella's hand. She smacked it once, and then settled into her seat. Bella's face paled, and her lip quivered. Tears began rolling down her face, as loud sobs escaped her mouth.
Harry's face turned red, and he faced Mackenzie with enrage. "You have no right!"
"I have plenty of rights! I am her mother! She came out of me!"
"And I have raised her and cared for her! Giving birth does not make you a parent! Its what you do afterwards!" Harry yelled, his free hand clutching the table.
"How dare you! I was young and I wasn't ready!" Mackenzie spit.
"Bullshit! And you think I was?! We were both young Mackenzie!"
By now, the whole cafe had gone quiet, and people turned in their seats to stare at the young couple.
"Excuse me, I'm afraid to say if you disturb the customers again, I'll have to ask you to leave." A middle aged man said, standing nervously to the side.
"I was just leaving." Harry spoke, gathering his belongings and standing up. Mackenzie jumped up along him, and hurriedly walked after him.
"Harry, this conversation is not over!"
Harry stopped at the door, and turned around to look at her.
"Then we can finish it in court, because I am done." He spoke, and left through the door, leaving a god smacked Mackenzie standing there, her mouth agape.

Louis parked out front of a tall building, before turning towards a nervous Niall.
"Well," Louis smiled sadly, "this is it. For three weeks."
"Are you going to cry again, Lou? Its only three weeks." Niall laughed.
Louis frowned, "At least I wasn't like Liam and held onto you for ten minutes."
"But you did cry for twenty minutes."
"Shut up." Louis playfully punched Niall's arm, making him squirm to the edge of the seat, giggling.
"I'll miss you Louis." Niall commented.
"Shut up or I'll start crying again. It's only three weeks." Louis mumbled, more to himself then to Niall.
Niall chuckled, and pulled the door open. He grabbed his bag from the backseat, and hitched it on his shoulder before making his way out of the car.
"Wait!" Louis screamed from inside the car before Niall could close the door and leave. Niall stopped, and waited for Louis to get out. Louis walked to Niall, and pulled him into a tight embrace.
"Three weeks. Thats it. Just three weeks." Louis whispered into his ear, tears rolling down his face.
Niall chuckled, "are you going to visit me?"
"Of course! Everyday if I can."
"Then why are you crying if you'll see me everyday?"
"Because its not the same!" Louis shouted, and pulled back. He sighed, and wiped the tears from his eyes. "I'm sorry. I'm just so proud of you."
Niall gave him a wide smile, and wiped the tears away from Louis's eyes. "Thank you, Lou. It means a lot. I love you."
"I love you, too."
"Don't forget to pick up Malcum, you promised to watch him." Niall said, walking backward toward the entrance.
"Trust me, I wouldn't forget!"
Niall gave him a smile, and then turned around and walked normally into the entrace. Louis watched him, and smiled to himself. He then turned around, and made his way back to his car.

Harry groaned in frustration as he made his way inside his apartment door. He placed Bella on the ground, and took off her coat, and his. "What do you want for dinner, babe?" He asked, shifting through the cupboards.
"I don't care, daddy." Bella said in a quiet voice, pulling out a chair and climbing on it.
"Daddy? Was that my mummy?" She asked.
"Yes, Bella."
"Do she not want me?"
"No, baby." Harry sighed, and debated on what to say. She was only two, how was he supposed to tell her?
"When you were younger, mummy left us because she was young, and didn't know how to raise you. Do you understand?"
"Yes, daddy."
Harry crouched down to her level, and kissed her head. "No matter what happens, daddy will always love you. Do you understand?"
Bella smiled, giggling. "Yes daddy. Love you."
"Good girl." Harry smiled. "Now go wash up for dinner."
