TWELVE: TRUTH & DARE.

AFTER OVERCOMING THE newly induced feeling which had rooted deep within me, I walked to his closet. My entire face felt warm.

There were five identical sets of closets in a line. The last one was opened to me.

Piles over piles of neatly folded t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, and PJ's were arranged in front of my eyes. I took the topmost grey sweatshirt which turned out to be full-sleeved.

I scrambled towards the bathroom and stripped.

I tell you, the feeling you get after removing all the makeup and accessories! I placed the earnings in the cabinet keeping the ring on.

It was divine like my skin was given to relive. The top was long, ending just an inch above my knee and flowing down my fingers.

Tugging the sleeves up, I washed my face with the aloe vera face gel, kept in one of the glass cabinets. Theodore's bathroom consisted of expensive products all neatly arranged to perfection. Patting dry my face, I felt beyond good, phenomenal. Examining my face in the mirror, I realized that the makeup did make a difference after all.

I started with the hairpins which were dug into my scalp. After almost ten minutes of hard work, my artificially curly hair cascaded down, past my shoulders.

Padding down the stairs barefooted, I massaged my sore scalp with my fingertips.

What a long day it has been!

All of them were already sprawled on the floor, basically chatting. When I walked up there, all the eyes fell on me. I avoided meeting Theodore's. Rohanna patted the spot I had to occupy with a grin.

"Took you long." She asserted. I just nodded with a lazy smile.

Rohanna sat in front of me with Theodore on my right side and Christian was diagonally opposite to me.

"Let's start then! " Christian exclaimed. Rohanna opened a bottle of wine and started chugging it. We all watched her incredulously. It looked like she was about to down the entire bottle. But when she pulled it out, it wasn't even one-fourth emptied. She grinned lazily as we sniffed a laugh.

"Give me," Christian muttered and took the bottle and gulped it nearly half in a breath. Then, smiled proudly.

Then Theodore was handed it and he took just one sip. After that, he started coughing, hysterically.

You drink how much you can in one try. It was my turn.

I pulled the bottle and tilled my head up, eyes wide open. I could hear Theodore's coughs subsiding. I didn't stop until it was finished.

We all clapped and started the game of 'Truth and Dare', the never-aging game. That's what they said but to me, it sounded absurd. Wasn't it supposed to be a game for teenagers?

Theodore spun the bottle and I could feel everyone's heated gaze focused on the poor bottle. If our gaze could sum up to produce heat, then the bottle would have been in ashes. It stopped between me and Rohanna. Answer end pointed towards me.

She rubbed her hands theatrically and questioned with her eyebrows.

"Tea or Coffee?"

"Water would be fine," I replied instead with a smirk.

"You know what I mean. Truth or Dare? " Her accent thickened at 'truth and dare'.

"Let's start easy. Truth." replied as everyone's eyes were on me. I heard Theodore scoff.

"Okay... So how many guys have you slept with?" And suddenly I could feel Theodore's ears stand.

I pretended to think as if counting the number. "I don't know about how many...But I am definitely not a virgin. Okay... I'll spin."

I didn't let my senses open to others' reactions. I didn't even want to know it. And not that it was a big deal anyway.

The pointer ended at Christian.

"Truth or Dare, dear soon-to-be-brother-in-law?"

"Dare, without a doubt." He was overconfident, radiating experience worth ages.

I gave a good thought about what to give him as a dare. "Pretend as if Rohanna is a low weighted dumbbell, which she is! And do thirty lifts. That's it!" I innocently spoke.

I'll make sure you give you the punishment for making me stay awake at such an hour! It was 2:30.

I heard Theodore's muffled laugh and Christian was still trying to look confident.

"Oh, that's an easy task. Come on Annie."

Two of them stood as I and Theodore were enjoying, heating our seats.

Christian started with the same cocksure aura. It faded little by little, slowly. And I suppressed my waves of laughter at his pressured look but Rohanna looked like she was having a great time. She winked at me and I copied her with a giggle.

"Done." He declared.

"Oh, no-no. Don't stop. Just five more. Pweeeaseee. " I jumped from my seated position and started cheering for them.

'Looks like the alcohol has started its job to march down my nerves'. I thought.

He barely managed to do five before I cheered for another five, as a soul of Monkey seeped into me, making me jump cheerfully. It continued until he completed a half-century. Grand fifty.

"You are such a cheater Lia," Christian muttered, totally exhausted and wasted. I shot him a wide toothy smile.

"You should know, I can always amend my questions."

"Okay, spin now!"

It ended at Theodore. Christian would question. Shit! No, fuck!

I could already feel Christian smirking and his eyes glistening with the tease. Damn! I tried pleading with my eyes.

"Theo. You'll have to make Lia moan. That's it. " Christian said immediately.

"What, no!" I conjectured.

Moan? We haven't even kissed ever in our lives!

"I didn't even choose dare man." Theodore too implored, defensively.

"So what? I want to give you a dare. Take it or accept defeat, big bro." I knew where it was going and it would prove very hazardous to me. My heartbeat fastened.

"Tit for tat, dearest sister in law." He smiled audaciously, concentrating on the word 'dearest'.

"He isn't doing the dare. And if he wants to do it still, then he'll make you moan not me. And yeah, I don't believe in PDA. P. D. A. No. N. O. Never." I huffed loudly, crossing my hands over my chest and looking away.

"You cannot say no, Lia." Rohanna tried.

"No. I don't want you guys to enjoy looking at our private moments. So, no. N. O. No."

"Ms. Hargrave." I heard his voice. I knew I was being stubborn but after the way my body reacted to him in his room, it's better to be careful.

"Seriously? Do you still call each other with your surnames? " Rohanna asked incredulously. They both laughed. Chipmunks.

"So what? It's sexy."

Did I say that?

What?!

"Ms. Hargrave. Listen to me." His voice was stern, making me turn my head to him, obligatorily.

"What?! " I quizzed slowly, having second thoughts suddenly.

"Do you trust me, a little bit maybe?" His gaze resided in mine, warming my chest area. I felt dizzy.

I stuck my foot in his direction. In front of him. "My foot." I asserted at his confused look. Then I even dared to stick out my tongue, teasing. I felt like something horrendously terrific was going to happen when I looked at his shocked expression. But I laughed, anyway. Why not, I mean.

In a flash, he jerked me by my ankle, me below him in the next second. My eyes expanded out of petrification, ready to jump out of the sockets. His hands reached my sides, him straddling me.

Can I pull him entirely over me?

"What did you say? My, my what? Your foot? " He teased and his long, experienced fingers started tickling my sides. His eyes were Glittering with happiness.

I yelped and screamed on top of my voice, not able to suppress it. Squirming under him I tried shaking off his hands, continuously. Failing and then failing again.

"Ahhh... ahh st-stop. Ple-please... STOPPPPP. " My nose forgot that it had to continue with his daily chores which was breathing. I continued wiggling beneath him between a fit of giggles, gasping for air.

"Not that easily." He humped, not stopping his finger's sinful deeds. That jerk was laughing at me!

"Ple-please. Stop. PLEASEEEEE."

Finally, he got off me as I panted breathlessly and gulped air. After what felt like a few rough seconds, I sat straight.

Still trying to fill the residual volume of my lungs I glared at Theodore. He ignored me, looking at the other two monkeys.

The bottle was spun again. I held my breath at the chances of the head ending towards me.

It did. With the other end on Theodore.

LOL. What's happening in this world?

"Why am I involved in all the fucking questions? " I asked, not really expecting any reply.

"Okay, what do you want me to do? Get straight to the point. I am hella tired."

They chuckled at my exasperated thoughts.

Theodore slid two small-sized beer bottles towards me without a verse. I waited silently. He would definitely not give me something which was a cup of tea. I knew that, deep within me.

"Chug them down. Then you have to complete two rounds around the pool. Cone on." He spoke very normally. I didn't like it.

I nodded. And then again, trying to decode.

I finished one bottle without much difficulty. I wasn't bad at handling the liquor. The second one was a bit throat burningly awakening. Everyone was looking at me. I couldn't hear an alphabet. My eyes tend to zone out.

I raised myself on my two jelly-like feet. And then the world fell down. But, my butt pained like hell. I heard a few muffled chuckles. I couldn't decipher much of the voices.

Ouch.

I stood again and fell. Damn. What was happening?

I stood again and it felt like the ground was slipping below my feet. I tilted myself too and started to walk. No, I tried to walk.

"The pool is behind you." Came his voice.

I turned around slowly and walked. I counted by each step and turn. Everything was blurred and fuzzy. I couldn't point out what I was seeing. I kept walking nevertheless.

I felt a wet thing below my feet and then I was no longer touching the tiled floor. I fell into the pool.

And suddenly I felt calm. Very tranquil and satisfying. The bubbles escaped my mouth and I closed my eyes, keeping myself down. The waves were dissolving into me and I could feel a faint 'beep'ssound in the distance. The water was cool and my toes curled.

I felt a hand on my wrist, my eyes snapped open. Theodore. His eyes were enlarged and watching me with surprise and worry. I deciphered that. It was evident.

I was pulled out, his hand tugging me till the surface. I breathed a shot of air and looked at him.

His expression was void. Plain yet questioning. My nose was touching his as I panted slowly. Our breaths mingled blissfully.

After a moment I saw my hand snaked around his neck, holding for my dear life. I pulled myself out of his grip immediately and his hand withdrew from around my waist. We both looked around, avoiding each other. Embarrassing.

His eyes showed uncertainty and then realization.

"What were you doing there under the water? Are you mad or what?" He quizzed as the waves parted to go beyond him.

"I was... " I started but then shrugged, not finding anything good enough to respond. Dipping once again into the pool, I swam to the edge.

Christian knocked my head, squatting down. "All good there? Are you alive?"

Rohanna giggled at his absurdness.

"No, I am dead. I sold my soul to the turtles there. Help me out now."

He helped me out and I felt like my weight had been increased ten times. Pushing my hair off my face I saw Theodore whipping off his face with both his palms, already out of the pool. He was just a few feet away.

"You guys go change. All of us would sleep under the stars today."

I heard them say when I and Theodore neared the entrance door. I murmured okay and his eyes gave me a brief glance.

Without waiting he slipped into the washroom and I opened his closet.

'Oh, I opened a different one.' I wondered to myself. Different colors of whites- crisp white, off white, vanilla white, shining white, ivory and eggshell white.

Woah!

I heard the bathroom door click open and quickly picked the first shirt my hands found and walked towards the bathroom.

His lower half was wrapped in a towel while his handheld the other, rubbing his hair. His naked glory made my body squirm with desire. Our eyes met for a fraction of second before I entered and locked the door behind me.

The rich and exotic scent of body wash and soap engulfed my nostrils. I quickly took a shower, blow-dried my underwear, and then got dressed.

But, for some unknown reasons, I kept staring at my reflection in the mirror, with his clothes on. I felt as if I looked better in this attire than the blue gown.

Shut your thoughts. Don't you dare get influenced by him, it's just a contract, a transitory feat. Don't sweat over it. I'll get over in no time. Then you can live your life again.

And don't you dare fall for him!

I walked down, trying to clean my head from all the bullshit. I adjusted my wet hair, throwing them at the back with both the hands.

I quietly walked to our previous spot; the pool area. Rohanna and Christian were fast asleep in the side, snuggled into each other, as if the world had disappeared.

But I was wide awake.

So, I decided to walk towards Theodore who was sitting at the pool edge, his feet underwater. He had changed into a blue V-neck sweatshirt and grey shorts. His muscular arms were in free display.

I dropped my feet into the chilly cold water, taking my time. "It's cold."

"Yeah, your feet will adapt to the temperature in some time." He lightly said. We still didn't look at each other, he just sensed my presence.

"You smell like me." He said breaking the deafening silence.

"Yeah, I used your products. Hope you don't mind." I moved my legs under the water, detecting the soothing feel.

"I don't." A minute passed. "See your feet adapted." I nodded, knowing he'll perceive it. I played with my toes, under the water.

"You have already used two of my clothing materials in a passage of a few hours. Looks like I'll need to import another wardrobe from France." His voice reverberated with deep chuckling.

The pale crescent-shaped moon, which shone like a silver claw in the night sky was fading. The sky resembled an azure blur murk instead of the sapphire blue of night. The fresh morning air was sweet and the sound of birds chirping was barely audible. Summing up, it was serene and enchanted.

I breathed a smile, this mere sign attracted his attention. I placed all my hair on the other side tentatively slowly, stroking my neck.

"You wouldn't need to. Today it was my helplessness. It won't be again." I spoke in a voice that echoed like a whisper.

"Just for a year." He said and then paused. "It will end. Then you on your path and me on mine."

"I never let it start," I confessed.
