Chapter-1
I love you.
One sentence.
Three words.
Eight letters.
And your whole life turns upside down.
The first time I said and meant that to a boy was when I was 15. Young and foolish. And in love. But I never said those words again. Not because I fell out of love but because I fell more. For him. For the guy who was in front of me.
Making out with a blonde.
I turned away. My heart could not bear it anymore.
"Carmen!" a pink haired girl shouted from across the room and tried to come over to me passing through the sweating and sticky bodies of the teenagers around.
I smiled at her. Sophia Williams. People would describe her as an obnoxious, stubborn and mannerless girl. I would describe her as truthful, caring and my best friend. She had been with me through thick and thin and I would never ask for anyone else.
She plopped down on to the couch next to me. Her wild pink hair was going in all directions.
"So what are you doing sitting on this dirty old couch?" She asked making a face.
"Wait. Why is this dirty old couch here in the first place?"she asked again.
"Probably because Jake did not want his parents to kick him out because some teenagers threw up on their millions costing furniture." I replied.
I took a sip of my drink and cringed. It was too bitter.
"Oh the Fishers are filthy rich. By the way, you still did not answer-"she stopped in between her sentence. Her eyes not on me anymore but behind me. I had a feeling I knew what had caught her attention.
Her eyes flickered over to me and I could see the hesitation there.
"What happened?" I asked her turning around not showing her that I already knew what was happening.
This time the couple was not pressed together but actually had a respectable distance between them. Did I just use 'respectable' for them?
They both started moving towards the stairs going to the first floor. He must have felt my eyes on him because he turned around. His eyes flew over everyone in the room until they landed on me. Our eyes locked. His lustful face changing to a blank one. His expression not giving away his emotions.
I turned away.
"It's Zach whoring around. Again." I said to Sophia making sure my face was clear of the things I had suppressed inside.
She raised her eyebrow but said nothing.
"Okay. Let's go."she got up, clasped my arm in her hand and started dragging me towards the sweaty teenagers who were apparently 'dancing'. It was more like groping each other. I looked at them disgusted and tried to free myself from Sophia's grip and crashed into someone. The person's arms came around me to help steady me. The person was definitely a him with those strong muscular arms. I whirled around to apologise but stilled on seeing who I crashed into.
He was smirking.
"Look Miss-Goody-Two-Shoes came to a high school party."he said. His voice mocking me as if 'goody-two-shoes' didn't party or know how to have fun.
"Came alone? Your boyfriend didn't come? Or did your relationship not work? Again." His voice taunting me. His eyes challenging me to do something.
You should always be careful what you wish for. Your wish might actually come true.
And Zachary Preston was going to find that out today.
"Forget about me. You must be having the time of your life." I glanced around the room. "All your whores are here." I smirked.
"Yes. Yes they are." He replied looking straight at me.
He leaned in. His mouth inches away from my ear. "I love to fuck them up. And not usually the pleasurable one."
I should have never initiated a conversation with him. I should have just said a simple 'sorry' and walked away. And I definitely shouldn't have done what I did next.
"Aw. Someone's bitter. Well I have some wonderful company for that bitter face of yours."
I threw my bitter drink on the bitter asshole's face.
