What's your favorite trope in Taekook ?
°°°
Normality had returned back to Jeon's main mansion, the early sign of summer causing the inhabitants to move inside the cooling rooms rather than staying outside. Maids were busying themselves with work, energetically buzzing like bees around the house.
Taehyung and Jungkook had moved to Jungkook's private quarters, getting to know each other more and maybe exploring the sheets of Jungkook's luxurious king size bed. Even if they did, no one would be able to hear them as the bedroom had sound-proof walls.
But that all went past Cha Eunwoo, slouched on a desk chair and staring blindly into space. His fingers were clasped around a simple, single white sheet of paper. It had been sitting on his desk after he had arrived from outside, painful eyes having watched the sweetest interactions between his best friend, Jungkook, and the one he was hopelessly in love with, Taehyung.
Eunwoo had decided to retreat, he couldn't watch the one he liked smiling in another man's arms even when it was his best friend and Eunwoo should be happy for him to achieve what he had been dreaming of for so long.
Eunwoo cursed himself and his stupid heart that decided over his head.
But there was nothing he could do, only wishing for his unrequited love to fade away. Still, there was this silly, little hope blooming in his heart that maybe, maybe Taehyung was going to choose him if he were to confess.
And that stupid little piece of paper was not making this decision better for him. Eunwoo stared blindly at the seven words written in simple font of electronic writing.
'Call me when you made a decision'.
'When', not 'if'. It was like the person behind the message already knew what Eunwoo was going to choose and that drove him insane.
He couldn't betray Jungkook, he was his best friend.
"This is insane and stupid", Eunwoo cursed under his breath yet he was unable to let go of the message, shred the paper into pieces like he should. It was dumb to assume he had any kind of small chance with Taehyung.
A sudden knock startled Eunwoo and he flinched, quickly dropping the paper into one of the drawers and retrieving his composure.
"Hey man, what can I do for you?", he asked, forced casualty into his voice as he watched the male walking inside the computer room, his own space. It was Jungkook and Eunwoo gulped, heart hammering in his chest, hoping Jungkook didn't catch any of his traitorous behavior.
The Mafia leader looked gorgeous as always and when he corrected the white dress shirt hiding his muscular body, Eunwoo was able to spot the dark mark, purple and red in color, sitting proudly on the tanned skin of his neck.
Pain was suddenly roaring inside Eunwoo, knowing very well who must be the cause of this mark. Jungkook of course noticed his stare and he chuckled lowly while fingering shortly over the hickey.
"Didn't know this before, but my Darling actually likes to mark the things that are his, just like I do." His comment had the wrong reaction in Eunwoo who was supposed to laugh, tell Jungkook he got a little tiger but all he could muster was the sarcastic upwards pull of the corners of his mouth.
"As long as you're happy, Kook", Eunwoo forced himself to say with an awkward laugh. Jungkook didn't seem to notice, only smiling dreamingly after being reminded of Taehyung. And god, Eunwoo was never a violent person but in this moment, he wished to punch that stupid, love strucked smile away.
"I am, Woo. Taehyung is the love of my life, he's everything I've ever wanted and even more", Jungkook said, snapping out of his space staring. His eyes turned hard and calculating out of the sudden, replacing the fondness he held for the lively blond that conquered his world and made it his own.
"Which leads me to why I've come to talk to you."
Eunwoo gulped, trying to appear calm but his palms have started to sweat the moment Jungkook entered the room. The male was too clever, he wasn't a mafia leader for nothing. His sharp mind had often enough saved their asses during missions but right now, Eunwoo wished for Jungkook to be less intelligent.
"What were you thinking, Woo?" Eunwoo expected this question yet it still caught him off guard and he struggled to maintain his calm composure.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Jungkook scoffed at the words, crossing his arms in front of his chest, unknowingly flexing his biceps. The silver-haired man was stronger than Eunwoo, having defeated the other in endless sparring rounds and that made Eunwoo nervous.
"Bullshit. Since when have your eyes started to linger? Since when did you start looking at Taehyung differently? Tell me. I deserve to know, you owe me at least", Jungkook said, no emotion in his voice but the underlying anger was clear to Eunwoo.
He knew his best friend by heart which made this interaction even more painful. Jungkook was a very possessive man and he did not like to share things that were his. And Eunwoo had witnessed Jungkook's infatuated love with Taehyung first row.
Oh yes, Eunwoo was so doomed.
"I--"
"I'm waiting, Eunwoo. Make it quick", Jungkook waved his hand, still no emotion. His voice was cold and snapping, exactly the way he was treating others out of his inner circle. Eunwoo realized it too late and he panicked.
He couldn't lose his best friend not when he never intended to fall in love with Taehyung! It wasn't his fault! Hell, it wasn't even Taehyung's fault, Eunwoo could and would never blame the beautiful boy. He was simply too lovable.
"I don't know, okay! It just... happened. But I swear, I never approached him wrongly. I swear to our friendship, Jungkook", Eunwoo hurried to explain, his words messily stumbling out of his mouth, trying to reason with the other who stood as still as a statue, listening to Eunwoo with stone cold face.
Jungkook did not offer him any reaction so Eunwoo quickly proceeded to speak.
"I'm sorry my feelings evolved this way, I don't know how it could happen...", he apologized, desperate to make it clear to Jungkook that his intentions never were to harm their friendship.
Jungkook finally showed a reaction; he sighed before rubbing a hand over his face. Suddenly, he looked very tired. When he lifted his head to look at Eunwoo, the other could see all the betrayal and hurt written on Jungkook's face.
"Eunwoo, you're my best friend. You stood by my side for so many years and I trust you. So why? Why him? You could've had anyone else and I would've helped you get them", the tall male stated defeated, pain lacing in his voice. Jungkook never wanted this situation to happen, never dreamed of it.
Yet here they were and he had to choose between the one who stood by his side and the one who owned his heart.
"Why him? Jungkook, especially you should know the answer to that question... you know why"
"I say this only because you've been nothing but loyal to me, otherwise your head would be filled with bullets already... but come close to him or even dare to look at him the way you did five days ago at the pool, and I will personally kill you. This is my first and only warning, Woo. Do not try to take what's mine", Jungkook continued on, his words dripping with venom as his voice changed into a dangerous timbre, meant to threaten Eunwoo.
It worked, because Eunwoo knew he would make his warning come true. Jeon Jungkook was not to be messed with and Eunwoo had never wanted to be on the receiving side of Jungkook's rage.
"Understood me?"
"Yes... I'm sorry, Jungkook, I really am", Eunwoo said defeated, bowing his head to avoid Jungkook's unforgiving eyes.
"Make sure your actions reflect your regret. Until then, you are going to stay away from Taehyung. Fix your feelings, then we can talk about your position here again", the silver-haired man ordered coldly. It was as if Eunwoo was struck with tiny daggers of ice from how perilous Jungkook sounded.
That wasn't his best friend anymore, that was Jeon, the Mafia leader. Eunwoo wondered if he was ever going to see his best friend Jungkook again or if he had lost Jungkook's trust and friendship forever.
All because his heart chose to love the wrong boy.
Eunwoo nodded, not uttering a word but the tiny gesture of his head signalling that he understood, was enough for Jungkook.
With that, Jungkook walked away, eyes still hard and unforgiving. Eunwoo knew he had been lucky because Jungkook could be so brutal when he wanted to, especially when it involved the beautiful sweetheart with the golden hair. Everyone in the Jeon Empire knew that already.
Still, Eunwoo should be grateful rather than being infatuated.
Promptly after Jungkook had left, Eunwoo made his decision.

What do you think of this interaction ? Will they ever be able to fix their friendship ?
