11 - Dean's Advocate

11 – Dean's Advocate

Selina screamed in pain as holy water was tossed on her face. It felt like acid on her skin. For a fleeting moment, she'd thought she was trapped in Hell all over again. That she had failed her most simple assignment. Lissa squealed. She's deemed me unfit in the field. Fuck me.

As Selina thrashed, she realized that she was held down in a chair, stuck in some sort of trap. That was a good indicator she wasn't back in her torture chamber; she had never once been strapped down.

Sam Winchester and Cas were standing before her. Another clear indication the King hadn't considered her a failure and brought her back home. Well, he might soon if word gets out of this.

"You're definitely not the first face I wanted to see," Selina commented bitterly. "By the way, don't do that again."

"Can't guarantee that," said Sam gruffly.

Selina looked around. It was no Hell dungeon, but it wasn't an upgrade. "Where's Dean?"

"He took off, left you behind," said Cas.

"I'm gonna kill him for that."

"Yeah, killing him isn't the goal here," said Sam. "You're gonna tell us what we want to know."

"Straight to the point. Okay. Look, guys, I don't know Dean like you do. The only things I know he's a ruthless killer, and a monster in bed." For this, Selina was showered in more holy water. "Fuck. I seriously don't know anything!"

"Why were you together?"

"Demons can't roll together?"

"They usually don't. Things get messy," Cas commented.

"Oh, like an angel would know that from experience."

"If by experience you mean witnessing such a thing, then yes, I would know it from experience."

"We were having a good ole time until you came in and screwed things up."

"Actually, you screwed things up by kidnapping me." Sam kept the lid off the holy water flask. "You shot yourself in the foot on that one."

"I didn't know who you were. Like I said, happy accident."

"What were you doing with my brother?"

"Well, if you're a hunter, you ought to know what we've been up to. Country-wide trip, murder sprees as far as the eye can see. We're cutting down the human population, you're welcome."

"Nobody asked for that."

"Yeah, well, people don't ask for a lot of things and still wind up with shit."

"What's your motive?"

"No motive." Selina held her head high. "We ran into each other, the partnership started ever since."

"And he let you live this long?" asked Cas.

Selina shrugged. "What can I say? I've got charm."

"Is Dean planning something?"

"He just wants to be left alone, fellas. That's all. He wants to be left alone to kill as he pleases. Is that such a terrible thing to request?"

"Yes," said Sam and Cas in unison.

"I can't help you," Selina repeated. "As I said, I don't know much about Dean Winchester. But I do know this: He doesn't want you slowing him down. Take the hint. He's embracing his new life. It's best to leave people alone when they're happy."

"He's not happy," Cas muttered.

"I don't know...he looks pretty elated when he kills. Or when I get him to climax." Selina winked. She saw the angel's eye twitch. "I'd hardly call that being unhappy."

"You're gonna lead us to him."

"Um, if Sam has been doing his tracking, he'll tell you Dean's in the wind. We stop where we can, part of being unpredictable and hard to chase." Selina eyed Cas warily as he stepped into the trap she was stuck in the middle of. "What are you gonna do? I swear if you—"

Selina screamed as the angel poked through her mind, sifting through any piece of information her brain allowed him access to. He dug up memories she longed buried, especially her human ones. He left no memory untouched.

Selina waited for the angel to kill her. She had no use to him or to Sam. What was the point of keeping her alive?

Instead, the angel let her live. The ferocious pain in her head was beginning to lessen.

"Fucking asshole," Selina spat at Cas as he backed away from her.

"What'd you find?" Sam asked the angel.

"The demon checks out. She's got nothing that we can use to locate Dean," Cas said gravely. "Her only use is to be Dean's sex toy."

"Well, damn," Selina commented. She rapped her fingers against the arms of the chair. "So, let's keep this moving, boys. I'm sure you're gonna kill me since I seem to be of no use to you anymore."

"You actually might be," said Cas. "Not that we believe Dean cares for you, but, you've been with him for a while. You've...killed together. You've...fornicated."

"If you want all the details, all you gotta do is ask." Selina winked.

"He may or may not miss your company. He may come looking for you."

"Do you think he's that stupid, or that suicidal?" Selina cocked her head. "Then again...it's walking into the lion's den, which I doubt he'd run away from. Humans are just practice, hunters like you are the real trophies. I can't imagine how big of a victory it is to kill an angel. If Dean comes to your home turf, it won't be because of me. It'll be because he wants to end this. With you two out of the picture, who's left to want to try and change him back? I can't say for sure what he'll do, he's been very unpredictable."

"Unpredictable to you, perhaps, but not to us," said the angel.

Selina narrowed her eyes. "Yeah, I'll bet you knew his predictable, human self. This is Dean two-point-oh we're talking about here. Dark Dean. Demon Dean. He's upgraded, you guys. He's not the same Dean that you know."

"He is, the Mark is infecting him," Sam said curtly. "Not killing him, but it might as well be."

Selina clucked her tongue. "Okay, this talk is really not getting anyone anywhere. Here's how I see things possibly going down, boys. One, you kill me. Unbeknownst to Dean, he'll find you, or you'll find him, and then it'll be a death match. Based on what I've seen, I'm giving Dean the upper hand here. He may or may not care that I'm dead when he finds out.

"Two, you try to convert me to the good side and hatch a plan to get Sam's brother back. It's a bit back and forth, eventually one side gives up in defeat. You may find Dean or he'll find us. He might see me as a traitor and may try to kill me, along with you two. You may succeed or fail.

"Three, you use me as bait, as the angel suggested. You try to pacify me with empty promises. I reluctantly agree anyhow. Dean may or may not see through me. Once he figures out what's really going on, I'm sure-fire dead, because he'll take his rage out on me first. You two he'll save for later." Selina cracked her neck. "Did I miss any scenarios? Oh, wait, I did. Four, you boys let me go. You leave Dean alone, and the two of us will continue to merrily kill humans. Personally, I dig number four."

Sam and Cas remained unamused by Selina. She didn't expect them to like hearing her talk, or listen to any of her scenarios. She couldn't predict the future, and neither could they. Since Dean was such a wild card, it was hard to anticipate where this was going to go, or where this would ultimately lead.

"We're not letting you leave, and we're certainly not letting you and Dean reunite to continue your slaughter mission," Cas said adamantly. "We don't want to kill you if we don't have to."

"Don't bother giving me the 'good guy' talk, it's not worth our time." The female demon tapped her foot against the painted concrete floor. "Looks like your options are slimming down. You might wanna choose before the world chooses for you. It has a funny sense of humor like that."

A funny sense of humor the world had, indeed.

Power to the room completely shut off, engulfing the three in darkness. Selina's heightened eye sight kicked in, allowing her to see a confused Sam trying to gather his bearings in the dark. Cas remained calm.

"You know what this is, don't you?" Selina cooed to the two.

"Something could've gone bad in the wiring," Sam reasoned. Selina heard how reluctant he was. He knew just as well as she did.

"You know what this is, Sam. Your big brother is here. And he's about to fuck shit up."

**Muwahahaha...the next chapter is one of my favorites. Really, I like all that I've written in this book. Even the chapters you have yet to see...**
