Chapter 26
My bruises weren't faded and I looked a little thinner than I usually was. The bags under my eyes were so dark that I looked dead, but I guess that fit the mood I was in.
It was the day of the Rounds and I was up first for the bidding war. It had been a week since I last saw Zayn, but I still believed he was out there looking for me. He had to be. I had to think that he was out there searching everywhere for me because he cared. If I didn't believe it, I would be lost in my own mind and left to my own devices which were self destructive.
I saw Louis the day before where he cursed harsh words at me and threw in a little slap at the end for good measure. I had only heard him through the door since then, always talking on the phone with some guy that he called his boss. I thought Louis worked for himself, but there was someone higher up, and that scared me.
I waited in my room, unable to really think about anything other than the auction that I was going to be a part of. Who would be there, who would bid on me and why would they want me that much. I knew Liam would be there for sure. The man had it out for me since the beginning. I bet he was just itching to spend a fortune on me.
I thought of a few other big wigs that would be there for certain. There was this one woman with especially large breasts who was into bondage. I wasn't, but whatever got me the money she had to offer. Then there were a few old men that could barely get it up, but drooled when I gave them a strip show and a lap dance.
That would be my life from then on.
The door to my room unlatched and opened up wide. Louis didn't walk in like I had expected. It was the two guards from before. Nick and George. My eyes widened and it was like my body knew how to react when they were near me. I stiffened up and pulled my knees to my chest. I scooted as far back on my bed as possible.
"Heh, look at him." The driver from before, Nick, chuckled. He was the first one to walk into the room and then George followed him. "You scared, kid?" They walked closer towards the bed I was on until there was no way for me to escape around them. "Hmmm?" George leaned forward.
"Get the hell away from me." I warned them.
"I can't believe this kid still has some fight in him." George said, grabbing my ankle and yanking me forward. I yelped out in pain and tried to kick him with my other leg, but he grabbed that one too, pulling me across the bed and towards him.
"Boss said not to mess with him. He's getting sold, remember?" I was let go when Nick grabbed George's shoulder and stopped him from continuing. They scuffled around a little bit before backing off.
"Fine. Fine." George held his hands up in defeat. "Let's just grab him like Tommo said." They grabbed my upper arms and pulled me from the bed. That time, I gave in and didn't struggle even though I didn't like their hands on me. I was taken down the hallway to the end where there was a larger room. It wasn't a bedroom like all the others, it was a type of office. It had a couch, a desk and at the desk, sat Louis.
"We've got him for you, boss." They nudged me forwards so that I was standing in front of the desk. I hugged myself close in front of Louis. He was reading over something on the computer screen in front of him and then he finally looked up and saw me.
"Strip down" He said, looking back at his computer screen. I shakily grabbed the hem of my shirt and pulled it over my head. "All the way." He said in a monotone voice. I continued to remove my shorts and briefs along with them. I was standing fully naked in front of Louis and the two others. "Alright, turn." He said, finally taking a good look at me. I did as I was told and turned around slowly. He was inspecting me and I knew it was for the rounds.
Louis looked away again and typed something out. He then leaned down and opened a drawer to his desk. He pulled out an envelope and dumped its contents onto the table. I was shocked to see that he had my old school identification card and a few other items of mine. "So I dug a little deeper and found out something that isn't very good. You lied to me, Niall." He picked up my school ID and showed it to me. "Niall Horan, freshman at Lincoln High School." He tapped the corner of the card on the table. "This was, what, two years ago? So that makes you either sixteen or seventeen." He sighed and then reached into his pocket, grabbing a lighter. "If my boss knew he wouldn't be too happy with me. He likes the legal ones, less problems." He struck the lighter and held it under the card until the plastic melted away and it caught on fire.
"Between the four of us-" He stopped to point at the two men behind me. "Niall Horan doesn't exist anymore. You are number sixty three until your new owner chooses to call you different."
Number sixty three. The number that was in my side along with the initials P.O.L.T. Property of Louis Tomlinson. Well, not anymore. I belonged to the highest bidder.
"Got it?" Louis said. Everyone nodded, including myself. "Alright, get him out of here. You guys know the drill. Drug him up and get him in the car." I tensed when Louis told them to drug me up. I stepped away from them and looked towards the door. "Don't even try, Niall." Louis said, standing up from his desk. He reached into his pocket again and pulled out a small syringe. "Here, Nick." He tossed it in the air and Nick, the driver, caught it effortlessly.
"D-don't." I begged, backing up until my back hit the wall. Nick got closer to me and then pinned my shoulder to the wall. He grabbed my arm and then twisted me around pinned my arm between his chest and the inside of his arm. "Please. I don't want this. I never wanted any of this." I yanked my arm back but this man had a hard grip on me. I soon felt the inner part of my arm being pricked with the needle. It slid through my skin and muscle, meeting the vein and finally releasing the drug that were sure to knock me out.
I was thrown to the ground and fell to my naked a.ss before feeling light headed. "This stuff is pretty fast, so he will be out soon. Go grab the others and get them all loaded up." Louis barked out orders. Black dots filled my vision before my eyelids were too heavy for me to keep open.
Nobody must have caught me when I fell to the floor since I woke up with a pounding headache and a soreness at my temple. I couldn't see much of anything in the dark, but I could feel something tugging at the skin around my neck. I tried to reach up to the binding object, but my hands were securely placed at my sides. I still felt woozy and unable to make complete sentences in my head. My thoughts were all over the place.
"We are now introducing our first item for auction tonight. Young. Fair skin. The previous owner would like to include information on this item. Tattoo under left arm on ribcage. Natural brown hair dyed blonde to appease the crowds. Used, but still retains... 'spunk.' As stated by previous owner. Shall we started the bidding at fifty. Fifty thousand?"
I was suddenly able to see when the sack was removed from my head. I was standing in a circular room with a light shown on me. I was surrounded by mirrors with lights above them.
"Fifty thousand?" A light flickered and then the voice started up again. "I have one bid for fifty thousand from a Ms. Hawthorne." Another light flickered. "Sixty thousand going to a Mr. Payne." So that's how this worked. They sat around me, behind the mirrors and bid on my naked body. And Liam was there. He had just bid sixty thousand on me. "Seventy thousand, Mr. Regal."
The light were flickering all around me and I couldn't keep up with them. I felt so dizzy and when I almost fell to my knees, I was nearly choked by the collar I had on. It was attached to a chain, hanging from the ceiling. I was to remain standing.
"Latest bid. Five hundred thousand to Mr. Payne." A couple lights went out completely and I didn't hear a few names anymore. "Five hundred thousand going once. Twice..." Another light flickered. "One Million dollars for item sixty three goes to-"
Who was it? Was I really worth a million dollars? The voice cut off when another light flickered. I assumed Liam sat behind the mirror. He was always bidding. "Pardon. Five million to Mr. Payne." From then on it was a battle between the two, cutting off one another until I was unsure of who was paying what for me.
"Four million five hundred thousand to a Mr. Malik." What? "Four million five hundred thousand going once." He was there. "Twice." Please sell. Please no more of this waiting and bidding.
"Five million to Mr. Payne."
