Seven

I turned around to see Jean. He had a big grin on his face and he had his arms spread, as if he was expecting a hug. I looked at the man. It had indeed been a long time, nearly three hundred years.

Jean was, of course, just a beautiful as always. Which wasn't weird for a siren. His white tail was shining in the moonlight. That was the only thing that could help you tell apart a siren and a mermaid. Sirens had white tails that looked like the moon, while mermaids never had white tails. But Jean's was truly majestic.

"Hi, Jean," I said. "How are you?"

"Good, now that you are here."

"Jean, are you high?" I asked. "How much red coral have you had?"

"None! I've just arrived. And then I saw you, and I just needed to talk to you. It has been so long. And you know, I kind of regret letting you go."

"It was three hundred years ago, Jean. Also, I am married."

Jean raised his eyebrows, he seemed slightly upset.

"Really? Where is the lucky one?"

"He's-" I paused for a while. "Not here."

"He left you?" Jean didn't really seem to be that upset about it.

"Sort off," I said.

"That idiot," Jean said and he wrapped an arm around me. "He'll regret it, he won't be able to find anything better than you."

I looked at Jean in confusion.

"Jean, what are you doing?"

"I already told you, I regret letting you go. I saw you, and even after all this time, you still made me want to go wild."

I blushed, and immediately after that I felt stupid for blushing.

"Jean, once again, I'm married."

"Oh, come on, Eren. He isn't here right? He left you."

"He'll come back."

I wanted him to come back.

"Oh, Eren, you're such a good boy," Jean said and he laughed. "Well, anyways, how about some coral? You look like you could use it."

I nodded, I really did want some at the moment.

"Wait here for me, I'll be right back," Jean said and he swam off.

I looked around to see where Armin and Erwin were, and I spotted them in a corner, kissing each other. I sighed, I could have known.

"Here you go," Jean said and he handed me a piece of red coral. "Cheers."

We both ate our treats. While we waited for it to kick in, we decided to dance. Jean and I had a fun time, and it slowly got better and better. Levi disappeared out of my mind, and I was simply enjoying the moment. I saw Armin and Erwin a couple of times, and Jean was around me all the time. Just like then.

Jean and I had been together for about a hundred years. It was my second relationship. After a while, Jean had lost interest and moved on. I couldn't have expected any less of a siren. Though I had loved Jean, him leaving me hadn't hurt that much. And now he was back, happily dancing in front of me. Both of us were high, feeling better than ever. Everything around me felt like a strange dream, and for some reason I was really giggly.

And yet, every time Jean came too close, I pushed him away. Because I still knew that I couldn't do that, not to myself, and not to Levi. Because Levi was who I loved, Levi was the only person who deserved my affection.

But Levi had left, and he had told me that I didn't have to wait for him.

"Eren," Jean said. "You alright?"

I nodded. "Yeah, why wouldn't I be? I feel great!"

Jean once again got closer. He placed his hand on my waist.

"Good! Then that makes two of us."

He leaned in. I couldn't kiss him back, could I? I couldn't do that to Levi. But Levi wasn't there.

Without thinking twice, I leaned in and closed the gap between us.

A/N: I'm sorry
