It's after midnight, a great time for bad decisions, like doing another tag that I wasn't tagged for, but it's a really cool tag, so.
This is an aesthetic-y tag with questions to answer about one of your books. So far, I've seen it done by Silmarilz1701, ChildOfThe1TruKing, autumn_sunfire, and GeneralPretzel. There might be other people that I've forgotten. Sorry.
I'm answering the questions for one of the off-Wattpad stories; currently titled Of Death and Innocence.
1. Describe the plot in one sentence.
A ruthless gangster isn't quite as self-sufficient as he'd like to think, and because he needs a human connection, he eventually loses everything.
2. Pick one sight, smell, sound, feel, and taste to describe the aesthetic of your novel.
Sight: a city at dusk, cold and utterly uncaring of the lives within it.
Smell: blood.
Sound: a gunshot.
Feel: adrenaline shooting through your veins because you're in a battle and your life hangs in the balance.
Taste: the bitter tang of fear in your mouth.
3. What 3+ songs would make up a playlist for the novel?
I'm sorry, but I'm terrible at saying, yeah, this particular song fits this book. I don't know.
4. What's the time period and location in which the novel takes place?
The time is the future, 4800, 4900 something A.D. But it's basically like present day. The location is two cities, Erraen and Spicewood, in the country of Scotanovia, which is where North America used to be.
5. Is this a standalone or part of a series?
Standalone. Most of my books are in the same universe, and there's a character who is in this book and another, but there's nothing that's a sequel or prequel to this.
6. Are there any former titles you've considered but discarded?
No.
7. How many times does the word death appear in the novel?
Out of my current incomplete first draft, which includes a bunch of notes, as well as the story itself, 21.
8. What's the first line that comes up when you search revenge?
"But if you try to fight me, try to take me down out of some misplaced sense of revenge, I will destroy you."
9. What's the first line of your novel?
Currently, it's:
A man in a navy blue suit walked through the moonlit streets, in search of unpleasant company.
10. What's a line of dialogue you're particularly proud of?
"You have his undying loyalty."
"Oh, just what I wanted; the loyalty of a failure."
11. Which line from the novel most represents it as a whole?
"Everyone who gets involved in this dies."
Maybe not what was intended, but it's accurate.
12. Who are your character faceclaims?
I don't do faceclaims.
13. Sort your characters into Harry Potter houses:
Arnaldo: Slytherin
Romagnoli: Slytherin/Ravenclaw
Tod: Hufflepuff
'Sabella: Hufflepuff, I think?
Kayrani: Gryffindor. Probably
14. Which character's name do you like the most?
Currently, Marinda Pewter
15. Describe each character's daily outfit:
Well. I know Arnaldo Bianchi wears very nice, expensive, suits, and so does Epaphroditos Romagnoli. But honestly I usually don't think about what my characters wear. So I don't know about anyone else, sorry.
16. Do any characters have distinctive birthmarks/scars?
No.
17. Pick a color to represent each character.
This is the one I've been most looking forward to.
Arnaldo Bianchi: a matte, grayish, dark blue.
'Sabella Bianchi: pastel yellow.
Epaphroditos Romagnoli: warm, reddish brown.
Tod Law: mossy green.
Marinda Pewter: hot pink.
Harvey Sumac: an orange-yellow-green mix.
Kayrani Bridges: sunset orange.
18. Pick a font to represent each character.
19. Which character most fits a character trope? Which trope?
Not sure. Probably Tod, as the newbie, reader-insert type who needs things explained to him.
20. Which character is the best writer? Worst?
Epaphroditos would probably be the best writer, and Tod the worst.
21. Which character is the best liar? Worst?
Arnaldo, and 'Sabella.
22. Which character swears the most? Least?
No one actually swears within the book, but in terms of offscreen/who'd be most likely to swear, Marinda. 'Sabella doesn't swear at all.
23. Which character has the best handwriting? Worst?
Arnaldo and 'Sabella have the best handwriting; Marinda has the worst, because she doesn't care.
24. Which character is most like you? Least like you?
There are parts of me in all my characters, including some of my worst characteristics in my worst characters, and vice versa.
25. Which character would you most like to be?
Well, one that doesn't die . . . Kayrani, I guess.
I tag goldblossom, DragonWriter664, and MideOfTheShadows
