:✧🕯️Tabitha sprinted to the AV room to grab her camera. She originally hadn't planned on going the game, but they were doing a memorial thing for the people who were murdered at the mall and the teen felt as if she had to be there. The coach also wanted tapes of the game. Not like Shadyside ever won or anything, and even if watching film helped improve mistakes, it wouldn't do much for the team. The team just straight out stunk.

Currently Tabitha had to haul ass down the school halls and out to the bus.

Running out to the school lot, Tabitha nearly tripped over her Doc Martens to get onto the bus. The driver only rolled his eyes, not even bothered that the teen looked as if she was having an asthma attack.

"Hey Forrest!"

Tabitha looked to one of the seats to find her friend Crystal patting the seat beside her. She smiled at the nickname because the two had just went to see the movie in July.

"Didn't think you'd come." Crystal said as Tabitha sat beside her.

Tabitha held up a finger, still trying to catch her breath.

Crystal laughs. "You're really out of shape. Maybe you should start playing football. Who knows maybe we'd actually win."

"I just wanna be there for the memorial thing. I just saw Heather last night- It's just-" Tabitha couldn't finish her sentence, she couldn't even find the words to express how she was feeling. She's had a knot in her chest all day, and it didn't seem it would be unraveling any time soon.

"Maybe you have survivors guilt. I mean you're one of the few nightshift employees that made it out alive."

Tabitha frowned as the knot in her chest seemed to expand.

"The witch hasn't come for you yet."

"This isn't how I wanted to be here tonight. I wanted to be here as a fan." Mayor Goode began his speech.    "Our Sunnyvale Devils and your Shadyside Witches throwing down some good old American football. Instead I find myself here as a husband, a father, as a neighbor and as mayor of Sunnyvale." Tabitha rolled her eyes, the man couldn't go one evening with out bringing up the fact that he's mayor. Even if it was at a ceremony for people who'd just lost their lives. He just had to gloat about his amazing one. "And on behalf of all of the people in my town, I say all of Sunnyvale mourns with you."

"Yeah, really looks like they give a damn." Kate mutters. "The only Sunnyvalers who came were the ones who had to. The football team and the cheerleaders." She states.

Tabitha looked around, and of course Kate was right, the girl was always right. On the other side stood boys in red jerseys and the cheer team. Deena's ex Sam among them. She was wearing a cheer uniform that looked so unlike her. She looked uncomfortable. Tabitha observed how she held her arms closer to her body as a football player from the other team wrapped an arm around her neck. Then she put on a smile and looked up at him. Tabitha looked to her sister who was also watching, a mixture of heartbreak and Jealousy painted her face.

"Hey shouldn't you be videoing this." Crystal whispers to Tabitha, causing the teen to pay her attention back to the stand. She truly tried to get a sense of closure with this ceremony, and appreciate Sunnyvale for doing it, but she knew it was all bullshit, no one in this town would bat an eye about the mall murders tomorrow. They'd move on with their perfect lives.

"I don't give a shit about what the mayor has to say. Especially because he doesn't mean a word. I'm sure the man will go home to his nice house, open a wine bottle with his wife and say 'good riddance.'" Tabitha replied, her tone was venomous because she wholeheartedly believed it was true.

Mayor Goode began wrapping up his speech. "Our hearts are broken with grief."

Just as Tabitha thought they were done, sheriff Goode walked onto the stand to begin a speech of his own.

Tabitha didn't like Sheriff Goode, for no good reason of course. To her, he was too perfect, an unrealistic kind of perfect. He had the perfect house, perfect job, perfect family, etc, etc. Hell even his name, 'Goode'. What type of last name is 'Goode' anyways?

Tabitha sure as hell wasn't going to sit through another Goode family oration, that made her want to rip out her hair. "I gotta pee."

"Tmi girl." Crystal mutters. Tabitha hands her shorter friend the camera before walking off the field.

Once Tabitha finished using the bathroom, exiting the small building behind the bleachers she found Peter, leaning up against the bleachers smoking a cigarette.
As soon as the boy saw her, he perked up and waltzed over, too confident for his own good.

"Jesus Peter are you stalking me?"

"Saw you walking off the field, had to make sure no murderer in a skull mask got you." He replies.

"That's not funny." Tabitha blankly responds. "And what were you going to protect me with? That cancer stick?" She continued motioning to the cigarette in his hands.

"Nuh-uh. These." He put the cigarette between his lips and held up his fists, starting to boxer punch the air.

Tabitha raised a brow at his antics. "Oh don't I feel so safe."

"Your sarcasm is not appreciated, because you should, I'm basically the Rocky of Shadyside."

"Yeah right." Tabitha said, beginning to walk back towards the field. Peter fell into step with her and she pushed his shoulder to create space between them.

"What? Don't tell me you're embarrassed to be seen with me?" Peter placed a hand to his heart and fake pouted.

Tabitha heard commotion coming from the field and paused in her steps to find the Shadysiders and the Sunnyvalers fighting each other.

A whistle came from beside her. "Oh shit."

"Some memorial."
