Kim Taehyung, the kid who always stood up for anybody who needed it. Never ignoring if someone was getting hurt, even if he was then beat up afterwards. He was picked on for helping everyone. Oh, what a world we live in.
It was Taehyung's first day at his new school, as a third-grader. He had moved from his town in Daegu to Seoul. He didn't care since he moved because the bullying he was receiving was getting too intense and teachers never did anything. The new school was bigger and seemed nicer from the outside. But his thoughts changed quickly as soon as his first period started. The kids were horrible. Disrespected the teachers, and spoke down to the girls. Taehyung saw as the guys pulled on a little girl's hair, that angered him a lot. He was very smart, just goofy and usually didn't use it to his full potential. This time, he knew exactly what to do, defend her. He got up from his desk and made his way over there, the other guy was bigger than Taehyung, but he didn't care.
"Can you stop bothering her? She didn't do anything to you. Just leave her alone." Taehyung said his voice emotionless which was quite scary coming from a 9-year-old.
"Huh, you're the new guy. You don't know who I am. I rule this school, the only one that's eleven years old." The other guy said, apparently proud that he was way older than the rest of the school.
"That is not something you should be proud of, you have stayed back many times, I suppose. I would not share the fact I'm too dumb to pass third grade." His voice even colder, sending a shiver down the unknown guy's name. With that, he walked off.
---
Taehyung was playing alone in the playground, the only kid with no friends. He was sitting alone in the seesaw, about to get up, before he felt pressure on the other side. He looked up and saw a boy, Taehyung's first thought was that he was very pretty. Yeah, some guys would consider that an insult because of all the stereotypes they have been fed throughout their lives. The other seemed fragile, and Taehyung felt the sudden urge to protect him from the dangers that the world hid before they became older and it was thrown at their faces. A gentle voice interrupted his thoughts, it was sweet and gentle.
"Hey, my name is Jungkook. I'm new, coming from Busan. I'm in second grade, so I'm eight," Jungkook said, showing a beautiful smile that Taehyung would love to look at every day. He looked like a bunny.
"Oh wow, I'm new too. My name is Taehyung, Daegu. I'm a third-grader and I'm nine. It's nice to meet you." He greeted back, his voice now holding emotions of both delight, happiness, and excitement. He also shone his smile towards the other boy, who seemed lost in thought for a second before asking if he wanted to play with him for the remainder of recess. The two boys also spent lunch together, and it was an amazing time that they were sad they had to go to different classes.
---
"MOM! This guy was pulling this girl's braids so I stopped him, and I made a friend during recess. His name is Jungkook and he's eight. I felt gooey when I saw him, but I ignored the feeling. Lunch was good too because I spent it with my new best friend." Taehyung told his mom the second he got in the car.
"Oh, really sweetie? I'm glad you had a good day, I would love to meet Jungkook soon." His mother said with a knowing smile, as long as her son was happy, so was she.
---
"Momma, today I met this boy called Taehyung. He was very beautiful, and my heart started going fast like when I'm afraid, he's my new best friend." Jungkook told his mother as soon as he got into the car, his cheeks tinted a little shade of pink.
"Awww, yeah, baby? You should tell me more about him, he seems like a very good guy and we could meet his parents soon. Huh?" Jungkook's mom said, in her mind, she knew exactly why her son's heart started racing. It's the same feeling she felt when she saw her wife for the first time.
---
It was like that for a long time, the boys sharing everything, the two of them against the whole world. Of course, their families started growing closer, but not as fast as the boys since they never got time to meet. Taehyung's mother was thrilled to meet Jungkook's mothers since she was single as well and would love to make friends. The three women knew their children felt something else for each other since they never stopped about the other. Saying how their heart started racing and their bodies started sweating when together. They were always together, always at each other's houses no matter what. You would never find one without the other. They were inseparable.
But, everything changed as soon as middle school started.
---
Taehyung was already thirteen years old, starting to realize things. But, his best friend was twelve. Taehyung realized that he was never interested in girls, but rather his gender. If he thought back, there was never a time when he had felt something other than a friendship bond with a girl, he was confessed to, but he always rejected them. On the other hand, he had somehow always felt a weird attraction towards a certain guy and often found a lot of guys attractive. It was just easy for him to understand that he was not straight, at all. He had thought about it before but always ended up lying to himself since he was scared of everyone's reactions. But he was sure of something, Jungkook would not know anything about it. Not because he was scared he would get left behind, but because he didn't want to be a bad influence on the younger.
So, he did something very stupid, he started distancing himself from everyone. His mom, Jungkook, and even himself. He managed to find a way to numb everything out, thinking that would help something. No, he knew it was no use, his feelings would still be there, but he didn't want to admit it. His style changed completely, the way he talked changed more than it already had. Taehyung was hit by puberty like a truck, going from the cute boy he once was, to a breathtakingly handsome man. But, he changed himself, even more, he used his deep voice and his monotone voice on everyone. It hurt to see his mother's eyes every time she was pushed away, how Jungkook's eyes shone with tears as he was ignored. There is nobody to blame since Taehyung was a simply scared thirteen-year-old. He was going to keep the attitude up, but his mother had enough of it. Telling him they were going to talk, a serious one.
"Care to explain what's wrong with you? You have been pushing everyone away, including Jungkook. Do you know how hurt he is?" At the mention of the boy's name, Taehyung found himself smiling unconsciously. "You think this is funny, how worried he is? He's blaming himself for your attitude, he thinks he did something wrong. But I know this is you, so please trust me and speak to me."
"Mom, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt anybody but I'm scared. I disappointed you and I apologize. I'm not normal, and people won't accept me. Jungkook will think I'm disgusting, and I don't want to be a bad influence on him. I love him like that. As in more than a friend," Taehyung's voice kept cracking as he held his tears, not wanting to look at his mother. Until he felt a gentle finger hooking under his chin, bringing his face up.
"Never say that again, you are not a disappointment to me, and you aren't disgusting at all either. You couldn't be, you're such a nice kid and the fact that your sexual orientation is different doesn't mean it's bad. I never told you this, but I'm bisexual, not straight. I thought the same thing, that I didn't want to be a bad influence, but I've realized that it's nothing to be afraid of. Now, I wasn't supposed to say anything, and neither were Joy and Yeri, but that's okay. Jungkookie also has a crush on you. Don't mention it to him though, he's not allowed to date you, YET. Us three are already planning the taekook wedding." Sana, Tae's mother, whispered the last part as if thinking someone might hear them in their small house.
Taehyung was left with a red face, trying to prevent himself from believing what his mother had told him. But, his brain wanted him to be happy, feeding him thoughts of weeding, and valentine gifts, a proposal, adoption. That only led him to think of more scenarios of what his mother called them 'taekook'.
---
For the first time in a long time, Taehyung waited at the school gates, waiting for his secret love to arrive. He got a lot of stares since he often stayed low and had been cold to everyone, and, was extremely handsome. He was standing there, playing on his phone before he was tackled to the floor. Very familiar body embracing his, Jungkook. From all the times they cuddled, they knew exactly how the other looked from all angles. Might appear weird to you, but it was something they were proud of. He then heard the voice he loved the most in the world say something very interesting.
"You thought, back off ladies, he's mine." He spat loudly, watching as the girls scattered away. His face suddenly started turning red realizing what he said. He looked down at his best friend to see how a smirk played on his lips. Oh, and they were still on the floor in front of the school's entrance.
"I mean, you didn't say anything wrong. I am yours, Kookie. I'm sorry for ignoring you all this time, I promise I can explain when you get a bit older. Let's go get ice cream, yeah?" The younger of the pair just nodded, the same cute blush dancing around his face, stretching to his ears.
---
Everything was okay for the pair, their feelings still dancing to the rhythm their heartbeats and the songs they reminded them of each other. Unlike Taehyung, Jungkook noticed his feelings a little quicker and wasn't scared to tell his parents anything since they were a lesbian couple themselves. Of course, he knew who his father was and such. The only thing that did scare him, was to tell his secret love and childhood friend. Taehyung was in his first year of high school and Jungkook was in eighth grade, soon to get out of that hell. Now being fifteen and fourteen, and close to moving up.
Even though they were both aware of their feelings and growing love for each other, that didn't stop them from feeling nervous about the confession. Now, everything they did together was more close to what a couple would. Holding hands at the movie theatre, blushing while doing so, cuddling extra close, giving each other clothes, more touchy (if that was even possible.), etc. Kissing and such was the only thing they didn't do. But they were both aware that they acted like a couple, and liked each other like that. By that, everyone was shipping them and every new person would always think they were the 'it' couple. They had to do something quickly, and it was Taehyung who was going to do it. But first, he had to ask some people something.
---
"Uhm, moms, I need permission to ask Jungkook out. He is your son and I want to make sure you want me to do it. I know you're both aware of our feelings since we were very young. Honestly, there is not someone I love more than your son. He lights up my life as nobody has ever done. He means the universe to me, and I would do anything to see him happy."
"Baby, go ahead, you got our permission. You've had it since very young." Joy and Yeri told him excitedly because it was about time.
That was all Taehyung needed.
---
With that, he got to work. Since he had no talent in cooking, other than the ramen he always made for the pair. He also knew that Jungkook never liked fancy stuff, he liked people planning things. Knowing someone for so long has a lot of perks.
He thought he did a good job, it was a table in a forest they used to explore when they were younger, one of them always coming back hurt. The table was set in a piece of land that was flat and had flowers growing on them, next to a huge tree they used to climb, one that had their initials carved. If his plan worked, when they left, their names would be surrounded by a heart. The table had pictures of them from when they were younger to now, and lights were hanging from branches in the trees, their dinner that his mom had cooked was set on the table along with some soda. The effort was nothing if it was for Jungkook. Not even thirty seconds arrived Jungkook.
"Oh my god. Did you do all this, Tae?" Jungkook asked, moved but not surprised. He knew Taehyung was amazing.
"Uh, yeah, do you like it?" Taehyung answered both shyly and nervously. Not knowing if Jungkook wanted him at all anymore.
"I don't like it, I love it, Tae."
With a smile, Taehyung motioned that they sit at the table, no more words shared since the swirling in hi stomach and adoration clouding his head didn't allow him to form coherent words. Too scared to say something wrong, or maybe say something that doesn't make sense and will embarrass him. They ate their dinner, where Jungkook kept asking a million questions every second. Taehyung understood completely since his actions were controlled by impulse. It was overall calm after the interrogation, the youngest looking around, his eyes filled with glee. The lights were positioned in a shape that made him look even more gorgeous than he already was.
"So, you might be wondering what I called you here so suddenly, and that's because I realized something. I've loved you for so long, and I don't want to waste any more time. I want us to be each other until the day we die. Maybe we won't get married anytime soon, but can you please be my boyfriend?" Taehyung finished his little speech with a smile, but still somewhat similar.
"OF FUCKING COURSE!" Jungkook exclaimed as he launched himself towards the arms that had held him for several years. Finally.
---
Needless to say, they had a happy ending together. They turned from the actual 'it' couple at school, to the happily married men. It was like destiny had made them for each other, well, that was something they strongly believed it. A little girl was adopted around 5 years after they got married, Tatiana, they gave her a lot of love and she grew old to be happy with her husband. Like every relationship, theirs weren't perfect, but their love for each other only made it harder to have a negative feeling around the house. Without a doubt anymore, they were meant to be meet and meant to be together for eternity.
