One Night
"Psst y/n" Feeling a crumbled piece of paper hit my head I decided go ignore the males call. "Oi y/n, over here" another ball of paper was thrown to my head. "Stop ignoring me" they gritted.
Turning my head I was met with my best friend
Kim Taehyung
"What is it you little shit? I'm trying to study?" I spat as I looked into his eyes.
Chucking deeply he stood from his chair and approached me. Throwing his rucksack down onto the ground he took a seat. "And you don't think I can see that?" Rolling my eyes as i continued to read my Physics book.
"Hey, don't ignore me again" Taehyung grumbled as he nudged my arm. "What do you want Taehyung?" I asked strongly. Resting his chin onto my shoulder he looked up to me with puppy eyes.
"Oh of course you want something" I spoke aloud causing other students to turn their heads. "Quiet in the library" A guy called as he looked up from his book, his glasses hanging off the edge of his nose. Shrugging my shoulders to his demand I turned my attention back to Taehyung.
"Look. There's a party tonight at Mark's and he wants to see you there." Falling further back into my chair my lips fell straight. "Tae you know I don't like Mark in that way." He held up his hand, "I know, I know he just likes being in your company" i sighed.
"I understand that but like I've said multiple times I don't plan or want to be with him. Plus I'm a little behind on my studies so I think I'll pass."
Sitting forward I turned the page on my book. Grabbing my pen to answer the following questions it was suddenly snatched away from my clasp. "HEY" "Shh, we're in a library" Taehyung teases as he twiddled my pen within his long fingers.
"Chill y/n we only just received this assignment today, you don't have to start it right away. And anyways everyone is going to be there, it's a great way for you to meet new people."
I tutted. "Chill, really? Well I'm sorry for wanting to pass my classes. I'm not going to go tonight so don't force me." Shutting my book with a loud thud i grabbed my bag and left the library.
As I pushed the door open wide I was suddenly met with Mark, a loud gasp escaping my lips the moment i saw the door aiming for him. "Woah" he murmured as he held onto the door, his hand over mine.
"I'm so sorry Mark, I didn't see you there." He smiled. "It's ok y/n, but why the sudden rush?" "Just off home" I chuckled. "Are you going to come to my party tonight?" He asked shyly as he scratched the back of his neck.
Biting my lip I looked up to him. "I'm behind on a lot of work right now so I don't think I'll have the time. Maybe next time." I spoke in hope. "Sure" he chirped. "I just thought we could spend time time together as I really like--" my eyes widened. "Sorry, gotta go" I interrupted and frantically making my way past him.
Leaving him alone in the hallway.
Once I left the building I let out a sigh. Heading back to my dorm, which was right on campus I began to rethink about Taehyung's words.
Reaching the door I unlocked it and slammed it right behind me. "What's up face ache?" My room mate and bestfriend Hazel asks. "Ah it's nothing" i reply as I walked past her, heading for the bathroom.
"Are you going to Mark's tonight?"
That then made something click within me.
"Fuck sake. If anyone else's asks me about going to Mark's tonight I'm gonna scream" I shouted in anger. "Hey, hey, I didn't know. What's gotten into you?" She asks in concern.
Resting my hands onto the edge of the counter Hazel came close. "Rough day?" As I turned to her my eyes brimmed with tears, opening her arms she brought me into her embrace. My tears then began to shed.
"I feel like I'm not good enough" I cried. "What do you mean? Where's this coming from?" Pulling away she wiped my tears, my black mascara staining my cheeks.
"I just really struggled with my classes today. I felt so weak asking my lecture for help."
Hazel tutted softly as she tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. "Never feel weak for asking for help, it's the best way you can resolve things. Your lecture will not think differently, if anything he'll appreciate you going to him."
I looked down to the ground, I cleared my mouth. No matter what that situation was Hazel was always by my side, she gave the best advice."
"You're right" "I know" she chimed making me chuckle. "But moving on, why aren't you coming tonight?" Exhaling loudly I looked up to her. "I just don't do so well in crowds, plus everyone is going to be there meaning swearing bodies grinding against one another."
"You know Mark wouldn't let that happen right?" I shrugged, "well I don't know?" "Well I do, I've been to one of his parties in the past, way before we even became bestfriends. My boyfriend is really good friends with him."
"You never told me Taeyong was close with Mark" Hazel turned away, exiting the bathroom. "That's besides the point." I looked at her in disbelief, as she turned to me.
"Look, I know you don't like Mark in that way and I know the last thing you would want to do is lead him on. So just come with me and Taeyong and greet him in a friendly manor. It's not like you have to be with him the whole night."
"How? I nearly hit him with the door when I left the library." Hazel laughed. "We'll just don't hit him with the door when you see him tonight." I smiled.
"Plus I can introduce you to some of Taeyong's friends, maybe that will take your mind off Mark. Plus isn't Taehyung going?" "Y-yes" "Then why don't you go with him he's your best friend after all." Hazel stated, "but so are you" I replied.
Looking me up and down she headed toward her wardrobe. "Hey, what's that look for?" I scoffed. "You have no clue" I frowned. "Am I supposed too?" Shaking her head she opened up the wardrobes doors. "Put this on and we shall go together."
Taking the short black dress from her hands I sighed. Looks like I'm going to the party.
A few hours later
"You look beautiful, even I'm developing a crush on you." Hazel grinned as I looked in my reflection of the mirror. I looked like a goddess.
"Right let's going. Taeyong and his friends are on their way."
Reaching for my bag I placed the strap over my shoulder as I followed Hazel out of our dorm.
Luckily the walk to Mark's place was only a five minute walk from campus.

Once Hazel opened the door the smell of strong cigarettes flew up my nasal passage, my facial expressions showing disgust. Coughing discreetly I followed Hazel further inside.
"There's my gorgeous princess." Looking ahead a handsome blonde haired guy pulled her close, their lips touching swiftly.
"Taeyong this is my bestfriend y/n, erm y/n." She called pulling me close, wrapping her arm around my bare shoulder. "Y/n this is my boyfriend Taeyong." "It's nice to finally meet you." He waves. "Likewise" I chime.
"Come on, everyone's in the kitchen." Taeyong shouts over the music, gesturing us to follow him.
Upon passing the living room my movements stopped, even my breathing stopped when I locked eyes with Taehyung, who had a brown haired girl sitting on his lap. His bright smile immediately fading the moment he saw me.
Inhaling softly a strangers hand took hold of mine, jolting in fright I turned to see Mark. "You finally came" he spoke in happiness" "Yeah Hazel persuaded me to come along." He smiled, "well I'm happy she did. Now come on everyone's in the kitchen, let's get you a drink." He smiled as he pulled me close.
Looking back over my shoulder Taehyung's face was far different so what I've seen before.
It was full of jealousy.
"I thought I lost you." Hazel spoke as she approached me, a drink already in her hands. "N-no I just got caught up that's all" I lied. "Well take this and drink it." She said handing me the drink. "What is it?" I enquired as I looked into the red up, just to see a clear liquid.
"It's just lemonade and vodka. Nothing to strenuous." She chimed. Lifting the cup I placed it onto my lips and took a sip, letting the intoxicating alcohol enter my body.
Pulling it away my eyes opened in satisfaction. "Wow, this is good" "Isn't it? Now come on, let loose it's a Friday night."
•
"Look who decided to finally show" Turning on my heel I was greeted with Taehyung. "Hey" I smiled as I wrapped my arms around his body, his aftershave filling up my nose. "I thought I wasn't going to see you here?" I shrugged my shoulders. "I know, but myself and Hazel had a conversation before hand. What she said was right so I've decided to just have one night off and join everyone here."
He chuckled. "As you should, you've always got your nose in a book. It's good to take some time out once in a while." I nodded as I began to take a sip of my drink. "What do you have?" He asked, "Lemonade and vodka, it's quite strong as Hazel's put a lot of vodka into it." Taehyung chuckled, "as per usual, more alcohol then anything. Do you wanna get some air? You look a little flustered."
Nodding in acceptance I followed Taehyung out of the house, heading into a small lit up garden.
Groups of small people were scattered around as some lit up their cigarettes to inhale the nicotine and some chatting amongst one another.
"Have you spoken to Mark tonight?" Taehyung asked as we took a seat on a small bench. I shook my head. "Not really, I only spoke to him when he brought me into the kitchen. Since then I've been with Hazel, her boyfriend and his friends." "Meet anyone you like?" He teased as he nudged my arm. "No" I giggled, "I've already met someone I like" I admitted making his eyes go wide.
"And who might that be?" Biting my lip I looked into my half filled cup. "Someone I've known for a very long time, he means so much more to me then he'll ever know." Taehyung's smile faded ever so slightly. "But I don't think he likes me back in that way so it's probably best if I just move on."
Taehyung's POV:
"Is there anyone you've got your eye on?" Y/n teased as she nudged my arm, mimicking my previous movements. "Yeah there is. She's absolutely incredible, I've know her for a very long time like you have with your guy."
"Is she pretty? Is she nice? She's got to be nice otherwise she'll have me seeing to her." Y/n threatened making me laugh a little. "She's way more then pretty she's beautiful. But trust me you won't have to see to her."
"How come?" She asked in curiosity. "Because she's closer then you think." She frowned, "how's that supposed to narrow it down?" She argued. "It just does, and it's also because it's--"
"Y/n" Hazel called as she came into the garden. "Over here" y/n called, signalling Hazel and her boyfriend Taeyong to come by.
"I've been looking everywhere for you." Hazel spoke as she took a seat. "Hey bro" Taeyong greeted, "Hey" I replied as he placed my hand onto his shoulder.
"So what's the chat?" Hazel asked. "Huh?" Y/n asked. "What's the conversation" Hazel finished.
"Oh nothing, we're just taking about who we have a crush on." She states.
"Oooo" Taeyong smirked as he looked over to me.
Even though we weren't close, he was the only one that knew about my crush on y/n, she was the love of my life.
"Can I know who it is?" Hazel asked y/n as she leaned close. "No" y/n denies.
"Why? I already know so who it is so why keep it a secret."
Looking down to y/n her eyes widened, "It is isn't it?" Hazel shouted in excitement. "Shhh" Y/n scolded at her best friend.
"This is so exciting yet so cute at the same time. My darling y/n having a crush on her lifetime bestfriend Taehyung."
My heart stopped....
