"Great work today students. Over the weekend I would like you to study The Anatomy, as next week I will be setting you a mid month test to take in class. Have a great weekend and I'll see you all Monday."

Gathering my books I placed them into my bag and left my last lecture of the day. "Study hard" my class mate Elle spoke as we left the room. "Always do" I chuckled. "See you next week y/n." "You too."

Pulling up to my house I reached out pressing onto a little silver button. "Welcome to the y/l/n residence" "Hey Martin it's me" I chimed to one of my dads security guards. "Ah welcome home."
As I leaned back into my seat the tall gates slowly opened up for my car to head through.

Parking up my car I frowned deeply, "what the?" I asked myself as I eyed up a black Bentley.
Getting out I inspected the silver alloys and it's number plate. The car was brand new

"Ah y/n you're back." Turning around, my servant Anna stood with a smile on her face. "Hey" "Your father wants to see you. Let me take your bags so you can meet with him." Handing Anna my belongings I made my way to my fathers office.

Gently knocking on the door I heard my fathers voice beckon me in from the other side. Opening it up I walked inside, before I could speak my words I was greeted with a tall man in a black suit.

"Hello there" I smiled. "Hello y/n. I'm Taehyung, it's nice to meet you." He grins as he holds out his hand to shake mine.

"I would say same for you but I'm sorry, who are you?" I asked in curiosity. "Y/n darling. This is your new bodyguard Taehyung." My mouth fell ajar.
"What?" My dad chuckled, as did Taehyung.
"Taehyung here is your new bodyguard. He's going to be with you to protect you." I scoffed, "is this a joke or something?"

"Y/n you know I wouldn't joke about things like this" I rolled my eyes, "Dad I'm not a child anymore, I don't need someone holding my hand wherever I go. No offence" I add turning back to Taehyung.

"Y/n...you nearly died last week-"
"Yeah only because I went to get some ice cream and I didn't realise this random dude was following me with a knife." My father sighed in frustration. "Me and your mother would not have forgiven our selves if you did. We want you to be safe, until I finish business with my clients this is how it's going to be. No questions asked."

Looking down to the ground I knew he was right. I had to be safe no matter what.

"Do you understand?" My farther asked, "Yes." He smiled, "good, you may go now. Taehyung please stay as I shall need to run through a few things with you." Turning away I left his office, closing the door behind me.

"How did it go?" Anna enquired. "He's giving me a bodyguard." I spoke whilst walking past her. "But he's very handsome." "How do you know?"
"I saw him when he entered the house, I couldn't help but over hear that he's one of the top bodyguards in the town." I chuckled. "Now come on, let's head to the stables."

"What a lovely evening." "Indeed. then getting thrown off Huston here." Anna chuckled as she jumped off her horse, patting him on the back.
Pulling the rein's over my horses mane I guided him back to his stable.

After removing his saddle and bridal I headed for the water station. Filling up a cold bucket water I grabbed a sponge from nearby.
"Nice evening isn't it."
"Ah" I jolted upon hearing an unknown voice.
"Sorry. I didn't meant to scare you." Taehyung panicked.
"No it's ok. I just lost my trail of thought. But yes it is a nice evening." I replied looking up to the evening sun which cast long shadows on the ground. The slanting rays of the setting sun gave a warm orange tinge to the sky.

"You make it look so easy" "Make what look easy?" I asked as I collected my water bucket and headed back to my horse, Whisky.

"Well riding a horse is an extreme sport." "I've been doing it since I was five years old, I know the ropes." Squeezing the remaining water out from the yellow sponge I draped it over Whisky's back, letting the water fall. "Who's the other girl?" Taehyung enquired, "Oh that's Anna she's my servant, well more like a bestfriend, her mother is one of our top chefs." Taehyung hummed in fascination.

"So I guess when my father said about you being with me 24/7 he really meant it?" Taehyung nodded. "Yes he did, other when you sleep and shower of course." I scrunched up my nose at the thought.
Taehyung let out a nervous chuckle. "So are you going to the party tomorrow night?" I enquired as I began cleaning my saddle.

"I am. It was one of your fathers requests."
Hearing the sudden sound of Whiskey's neigh Taehyung jolted in fright, causing him to run closer into me. "You'll get used to it, specially if you're with me all the time." Taehyung backed away shyly in realisation on how close he was to me.

"So I guess you'll be accompanying me?" "Something like that." Taehyung replied.
Pulling on the silver chain of the wooden door I slid it into place, locking Whisky's stable door shut. Peaking his head over the top Taehyung nervously held out his hand. "Don't be shy" I cooed. Lifting his hand Whisky begun to sniff him, breathing out a small nicker he welcomed Taehyung. "See he likes you." I smiled. "I-is that a good thing?" "Yes when horses nicker it means their greeting you." Taehyung grinned.

"Anyway, it's getting late. I should be heading back." "I'll accompany you." Taehyung spoke as he pulled his hand away. Kissing Whisky on the nose I bid him goodnight before heading inside.

The following day

"Rise and shine" My father shouted as he came into the room. I groaned as I peaked my head over the bed covers. "Dad it's too early, what are you doing?" "Waking you up. Me and your mother are heading to work, also Anna and her mother have gone out of town today so it will just be you and Taehyung."

Squinting my eyes I reached over to grab my phone, as its bright light blinded me I grumbled in annoyance. "Breakfast is ready on the table so come down soon, before it gets too cold." My father spoke as he closed the door behind him.

"Sleeping beauty is finally awake." My mum chimed as I walked into the room. "Yes I'm awake." I spoke as I took my seat at the dining table. "Where's Taehyung?" I enquired. "He's in the garden, now y/n we know it's been a while since we've all left you but you're in great hands with Taehyung." Taking a bite of my scrambled eggs I nodded.

"If anything happens call for him." I frowned. "I thought he was going to be with me all the time?" "That was the original plan yes, but after talking myself and your mother thought it would be good for him to give you space. We want you to be independent, and not feel as thought your being followed all the time. Of course when you leave the house he will be with you."

I sat back, "really?" They nodded, "yes, now we're heading off, be good ok" my mother spoke as kissed my upper cheek. "Always am" I smiled. "We love you darling." "Love you too."

After finishing my meal I grabbed the plate and cutlery taking it to the sink ready to wash. Looking out the window I saw Taehyung in the distance. Dressed in a black suit he wondered around the garden as he spoke to another on the phone.

Closing the door to the cupboard a loud bang irrupted the house.
Assuming it was either my parents, or Anna I shrugged it off acting like it was nothing.

But i should have acted upon it.

As I turned my back a pair of muscular arms wrapped themselves around my body. Clasping their hands against my lips as I screamed in fear.

"I found her." The stranger shouted indicating another two strangers to enter the room. "Her bodyguard is somewhere in this house, find him." He demanded as the other two scarpered away in different directions.
As my heart raced as my hands found their way to his, pulling on them to force myself out of his grasp.
"Don't you even think about it." He gritted.

"Shame your father isn't here to save the day. I'm getting tired of waiting for my money." I let out a nervous breath as he rested his cheek against mine. "But we will have to get rid of your precious little bodyguard before i do anymore." The man chuckled as he glided a small knife along my temples.

"Boss, I think I see him." One of his men shouted from the stairway. Loosening his grip I took a deep breath.

Balancing on one leg i swung the other backward, hitting the man in the groin. Letting out an agitated groan his hands removed themselves from my body. As his hand fell away his knife sliced my outer cheek.
I let out a squeal of pain as I headed for the back door. Turning the key I pushed the door open and ran into the gardens. "Taehyung" I called in fear. "Taehyung help" I cried.

Looking over my shoulder I saw the man running toward me, a gun in his hands, ready to fire. Closing my eyes, I braced myself for the bullet's impact. A loud shot rang out, but I felt no pain. Instead I heard a thump as a body collapsed onto the ground. When I opened my eyes, I saw Taehyung standing in front of me, his gun still aimed at the body of the man.

Bringing his arm backwards he held onto my hand. "Take my hand and never let go." He demanded as we ran out of the gardens.

"There they are." One shouted as they both caught up with us.
Running onto the cobbled driveway Taehyung pushed my body behind his.

Gripping onto his triceps I closed my eyes in terror. Soon two loud gun shots were suddenly heard, causing the sound to echo throughout the forest, black birds escaping the trees.
"Get inside."

Turning around I saw my father with his pistol in his hands, tiny traces of smoke leaving the brim. Taking my hand Taehyung brought me back into the house.

"Where are you taking me?" I questioned. "To your room, you'll be safe there." Opening the door he ushered me inside.

Looking out of my window and onto the front gardens there I saw my father and my mother with ten other bodyguards.

"Here." Looking to my right I saw Taehyung with a cold flannel in his hand. "Let me," holding onto the back of my neck he placed the flannel over my wound. "From now on I'm going to stand by you, I know your father said about me giving you space but I'm not prepared to see you get hurt. I gave him my word to protect you, and if that's what I do till my last breath then I will. Now get some rest."

Releasing his grip he placed the flannel onto my bedside table. "Wait you're sleeping here?" I enquired, "yes, now get some sleep."

Pulling on the silk bed covers I slid my body inside. Resting my head onto the soft pillows my eyes slowly began to close.

The Next Day

The day dawned crisp and clear. The sun poured through my window, the first rays of sunlight lighting up the room. Hearing the loud chirps of birds was sweet, often with a melodious tone.

Peeling open my eyes I scanned the room, looking to my right a sleeping body rested against the mattress. Blinking rapidly i noticed it was Taehyung. His eyes were softly closed as light snores escaped out his nose.

Feeling a warm tinge to my cheeks I grew embarrassed. Pushing the covers off my body I headed to the bathroom. Pulling on the light switch the bulb immediately lit up the room. Looking at at my reflection in the mirror my chest grow heavy.

"I should have been there to protect you." Taehyung's soft voice spoke, "Nobody knew this was going to happen, it's not your fault." Taehyung traced his finger over the wound.

Leaning down our lips we're just inches away from one another's. As his lower lip grazed against mine I pulled myself away, "We can't." Looking away I left his presence, heading out of my room.

"Y/n." Turning to the side I saw my parents standing at the end of the hallway. Fiddling with my thumbs I approached them. "About y-yesterday-" "We can speak of that another time. In the mean time go riding with Anna today, it will take your mind off it." My father spoke as he walked away.
"Don't worry about him darling, he's been kicking himself ever since for not having Taehyung beside you. But in the mean time meet Anna at the stables. We'll see you later."

7pm

"You look beautiful." My mother chimed as she entered the room, wearing a long silver dress which was full of elegance, just like her. "Thanks mum."
Tracing her hand over my healing wound she tutted softly, "Once your father has finished with all his business we will be safe again. Now come on, let's head downstairs."

"There's my girls." My father smiled. "You look beautiful." I smiled brightly when I saw Taehyung standing beside my father. "Thank you."

As the night danced away I found myself becoming more free. "Do you want to step outside for a moment?" Taehyung asked as he held out his hand. I nodded as we interlocked our hands. 

Opening the doors the nights soft breeze flew through the winds. Looking up a small star twinkled with light, they were like a sly pearl that adorns the dark blue night sky.

"Do you think you'll ever feel free?" Turning to Taehyung I frowned, "what do you mean?" "Well just live your life. I understand your father is a CEO but do you ever wonder on how your life could be different?" I shrugged my shoulders as i took a seat on a nearby bench.

"I do wonder sometimes, but most of the time I often wish he wasn't a CEO, just to live a normal life for a day sounds exciting. Just being able to unlock the door and walk into your home, come and go as you please and not feeling surrounded or watched all the time. It sounds calming, but" I paused as Taehyung sat beside me. "I was born into this family, I wouldn't change it for the world."

"When we first met your father said you nearly died, what happened?" "I was finishing up with Uni for the day, and I decided to head to my local ice-cream shop. Upon leaving I felt uneasy, as I was being watched. My father says I should always act upon feeling that way, but me being me I shrugged it off. As I walked through a park a man approached me with a knife, I didn't realise it until I felt a sharp pain in my lower back. H-he said some things but then it suddenly it stopped."

Taehyung frowned. "Someone pulled him away and dealt with him. It was only when I got home that I found out it was one of my fathers bodyguards who was undercover." Taehyung nodded as he listened to my words. "It scares me as I feel like I need to be more vigilant with my life.

"Well you won't have to worry, anymore." Taehyung wrapped his arm around my shoulders. "My job is to protect you, and if that means being by your side for the rest of my life I shall do just that."
