Jungkook sighed and took in a deep breath, catching a hint of marijuana and... testosterone? Wait... how could he smell testosterone-

"You look really out of it, Jungkookie," Hoseok teased from beside him awkwardly, swirling around what looked like piss (but was actually beer) in a plastic cup.

Oh right. Jungkook had gone to Hyuna's party.

...And Jimin and Hoseok had followed him there.

Jungkook glanced over at Jimin and Hoseok and frowned. He knew they weren't enjoying anything, so why were they still here? Why wouldn't they just spend their homecoming the way they always did?

"Kookie," Yeri called from across the room. Everyone was kind of amassed into Hyuna's living room. It somehow still looked enormous even with so many people packed into it. Or maybe it was because everyone was crowded around the billiards table.

"I can't find Hyuna," Yeri whined, slouching against Jungkook when she got near him. Jungkook could smell the alcohol from her and glanced at his friends. He chose not to drink to keep them at peace.

"It looks like you lost your Taehyungie," she teased, jabbing a finger into Jungkook's chest. Jungoook blushed and shooed her away, smiling nervously at Jimin and Hoseok.

"Hyung, I wanna play billiards," Jimin began, eyeing the group of people that he'd been watching for the entire night, "Will you come with me?"

Hoseok huffed and nodded his head, standing up and giving his piss beer to some random girl throwing it back. She gulped the beer down and threw the cup aside. Hoseok winced.

"Are you coming, Jungkookie?" Hoseok asked. Jungkook nodded and got up, following them to the mass of high schoolers. Jungkook would normally be fine in a crowd like this, but something felt off.

Maybe it was because of how shitty his homecoming dance was. He hadn't spent any time with Taehyung because of Jimin and Hoseok, and on top of it he hadn't really danced.

It wasn't very memorable.

Jungkook stood by Jimin and looked over people's shoulders to see what was going on. He couldn't help but let a smile on his face when he saw Taehyung. Although, Taehyung didn't really look like he was enjoying himself.

"Is this what rich people do?" Jimin asked, scoffing at the people around him. Everyone gave him a weird look, but Jimin didn't seem to care very much. Jungkook chuckled awkwardly.

"Let me play next round," Jimin said, pushing his way through the small crowd and to the table. Jungkook and Hoseok followed him, exchanging a look of concern.

Sure, Jimin was practically a god at billiards. But this was a different group of people. Who knows what could happen.

"Look at you, Park!" someone called out and Jimin blushed a little but looked down to hide it. Jungkook watched as he grabbed a cue stick from the wall and psyched himself up before walking back to the table.

"I wanna play against Kim," Jimin said. Taehyung turned around and glanced at him and then at Jungkook and sighed. He grabbed his cue stick and walked back to the table.

"Ooh~, looks like Park's got a crush," Yugyeom teased and Jungkook shot him a look. Yugyeom shrugged and patted Taehyung on the shoulder before walking out of the living room with a cup full of beer.

"Are we gonna bet?" Taehyung asked, glancing at Jungkook again. Jungkook sucked in a deep breath and looked at Jimin, whose eyes had narrowed with concentration.

"Yeah. If I win you have to stay away from Jungkook."

Taehyung furrowed his eyebrows together and Jungkook bit his lip. He turned and glared at Jimin, biting down on his tongue and feeling the weight of Hoseok's hand on his wrist.

Why was Jimin getting involved in Jungkook's relationship with Taehyung?

"Fine," Taehyung said, glancing at Jungkook again, "And if I win you have to buy me lunch all of next week." Jimin rolled his eyes but nodded along anyway, outstretching his hand and shaking Taehyung's.

Jungkook didn't really understand billiards, but he could definitely tell that Jimin was winning. He felt mixed emotions. He wanted Jimin to win, but he didn't want to risk losing a relationship with Taehyung.

Right when it was Jimin's turn and he got ready, Suho, who was looking extremely drunk, ran into him. Jimin yelped and fell forward onto the table, knocking the eight ball off of the table.

"What the hell?!" Jimin said, pushing Suho off of him. Suho gave a drunk chuckle and stumbled away, leaving Jimin in a fit of rage.

"Looks like you lost, Park," Yugyeom said with a smirk and patted Taehyung on the back. Jimin glared at the two of them before setting his cue stick on the table.

"Fine," he said, then turning to Hoseok and Jungkook, "Hyung, let's go home." Hoseok nodded, his eyebrows furrowing together out of concern. But he followed Jimin out of the living room and to the front door anyways.

"Hyung, why are you leaving?" Jungkook asked, taking longer strides to catch up to an angry Jimin. Jimin scoffed and slipped on his shoes, opening the door to Hyuna's house and slamming it in Jungkook's face.

Jungkook scoffed as well and opened the door, following Jimin outside into the long driveway. "Hyung!" he called out again, grabbing onto Jimin's wrist as Hoseok walked off to start up his car.

"Jungkook, let go," Jimin said, not bothering to turn around and face Jungkook. "No," Jungkook responded, "Why are you so mad?"

"Because!" Jimin said, ripping his hand out of Jungkook's hold and taking a few steps back. "You don't spend time with us anymore!"

Jungkook fought the smile trying to creep it's way into his face. "That's what you're mad about?" he asked and Jimin bit his lip. Jungkook could've sworn that he saw tears in Jimin's eyes.

"You're breaking all of the traditions we've had for years, Jungkook," Jimin said, on the verge of tears, "The seven of us have been together since middle school and you're throwing away a friendship for a bunch of high school crackheads!"

Jungkook frowned. "Jimin, it's not like that-"

"Don't fucking tell me that!" he yelled. Everything seemed excruciatingly silent. Hoseok even peeked his head over the car but decided to hide back inside. Jimin glanced behind Jungkook and scoffed.

"Hey, is everything okay?"

Jungkook turned around and smiled a little when he saw Taehyung. He opened his mouth to say something but Jimin beat him to it.

"Stay out of this, Kim," Jimin growled and Jungkook frowned, anger creeping through his veins.

"Jimin, don't talk to him like that-"

"Don't tell me what to do, Jungkook," he said. Jungkook glanced at his friend and saw a coldness that he'd never seen in Jimin's eyes before.

"Jimin-"

"I hope you're still able to recognize yourself, Jungkook," Jimin mumbled, his head tilting toward the ground. It was so silent that Jungkook heard Jimin's tears splatter against the concrete.

"Because I definitely don't," Jimin said, and turned on his heel and quickly ran to the car. Hoseok didn't even bother waving and drove off, leaving Jungkook standing alone with Taehyung in the driveway.
