Have you ever heard of the story of the kingdom in the sky, beyond our milky way, home to the cosmic family that controls the stars and moon above?
Rumor has it, that there is a kingdom beyond our solar system, in a galaxy so far away, no human has ever found it. An entire realm that seemed straight out of a fairytale. An enchanting land crafted and built from the very essence of stars and cosmic dust, creating a breathtaking spectacle. In the heart of this far away galaxy, this celestial kingdom radiated a mesmerizing glow, casting a magical aura over its surrounding.
The skies above were adorned with constellations that danced and sparkled, as if they were telling their own enchanting stories of how they came to be. A place of dreams where the ordinary became extraordinary, where the boundaries of reality blurred with the wonders of the universe.
Nobody knew if this palace of stars did exist, if it was only a false made up story or if there was a kingdom like that so far away.
Everyone thought it was just a pure fairytale.
...until a falling star appeared.
"And that's why these constellations are so important to us!"
Choi Beomgyu's eyes fluttered closed as he yawned softly, leaning his head against his hand as he opened his eyes and stared at the professor, boredom overtaking his senses as his ass became numb from how long he's been sitting down on this chair.
"Dude," The male next to him spoke up, causing him to glance over at him. "You should write down the notes or you'll fail the next unit test."
"Can't you write it for me, Soobin hyung?" Beomgyu pouted, causing the male to scoff in astonishment that he had the audacity to ask that. "I'm so tireeeddd! Please!"
"Whose idea was it to stay up late all night?" Soobin's eyes squinted slightly, glaring at the male.
"It was a relaxation day, can't a guy have a bit of fun playing Minecraft for twelve hours?" Beomgyu shrugged his shoulders before stretching out his arms widely.
Soobin couldn't believe the words he heard coming out of his best friend at the moment, with an exhausted sigh, the male shook his head and turned his head towards the board once again, paying attention to the lesson that was being held.
Beomgyu glanced over at the male, guilt washing over him slightly as he gave in and sighed, leaning forward as he grabbed his notebook and took some notes, just to satisfy his friend.
After nearly an hour later, class had finally ended, which made the two of them pack up and walk out of the room, now heading off to lunch.
"You know," Soobin spoke up, glancing down at the male who seemed exhausted out of his mind. "I heard there's going to be a meteor shower in two days, wanna go see it with me? Maybe we can see the Estella Kingdom in the sky."
"Estella Kingdom?" Beomgyu repeated with a scoff. "You really believe that make believe stuff?"
"It's a story that's been passed on for centuries, plus other people believe in different things." Soobin said, tilting his head with a small smirk knowing that Beomgyu was becoming irritated.
The male honestly had no issues with others believing in different fairytales and myths, but he just couldn't believe that people really believe that there's an actual kingdom made out of stars and cosmic dust beyond their milky way, it was the most unbelievable thing he has ever heard!
"Where are we heading to for lunch?"
"Yeonjun hyung wants to meet up with us at Miracle Cafe," Soobin said while reading the message he had just received from the elder. "He had already invited Huening Kai, how does that sound?"
"That's fine, as long as he's paying."
Soobin snorted loudly and nodded his head, texting Yeonjun the exact words that he had said, which immediately made his phone start buzzing like crazy.
"He's not happy."
"He has to suck it up!" Beomgyu said while smiling, the two of them heading out the doors.
Beomgyu always felt like his life was just the same everyday. Wake up, head to university, suffer through all classes, blah blah blah. All the same shit he has to deal with every day, but at least he has his best friends.
It was honestly a surprise when Soobin was his roommate for the apartment they both shared, he didn't plan on it, but he was happy to know at least one childhood friend was with him.
If only he didn't always leave him for Choi Yeonjun...
"When are you going to confess to him?" Beomgyu asked the male who visibly froze at what he said. "You've been crushing on him for two years now, how has he not noticed?"
"Sh-Shut up!" Soobin covered his face in embarrassment, causing the latter to roll his eyes. "Yeonjun is a hard working person... I-I'm certain he doesn't have time for silly things like relationships."
"Yeonjun...? As in the Yeonjun that throws a party at his house every week and does his work last minute Yeonjun?" Beomgyu said, listing the odd things that the male has done which made Soobin flush even more in embarrassment.
"Okay, I guess he's... — okay! That doesn't matter! He's hard working and that's it!"
"Oh my god," Beomgyu groaned, rolling his eyes as he fetched out his keys from his pocket. "Just say you don't feel worthy enough for Yeonjun's love, which is wrong! I'm so certain he's down bad for you too, you should see the way he literally fucks you with his eyes it's—"
"Beomgyu, for once in your life, shut up."
Beomgyu pursed his lips into a thin line as he raised his hands in defense, even though he was certain that Yeonjun literally wants to get dicked down by his best friend, he would save that for another time when he felt like black mailing them both.
As the two of them got into the car, Beomgyu noticed how the sky began to look a bit more pink than usual. "It's the middle of the day, the sky doesn't usually turn pink until sunset."
Soobin glanced out the window and up towards the sky, tilting his head as he saw a light pink aurora spread across the sky. "It's barely visible, maybe at night time we can see it better, you think it's because of the possible meteor shower soon?"
Beomgyu shrugged his shoulders and got on with driving, the two of them vibing and relaxing to a song by IU as he drove to the location Yeonjun had sent them.
"I still don't understand it," Soobin sighed, shuffling the music as he played 'Nothing' by a group called Kiss of Life. "You willingly took astronomy, astrophysics, all of the classes that involve the universe and planets, yet you hate every single of them, why?"
"I don't hate them," Beomgyu glared at his best friend from the corner of his eye. "It's just not my favorite subject, I'm only taking them because... my... my mother loved them, I'm doing it for her."
Soobin noticed how Beomgyu's tone wavered in sadness when he had mentioned his mother, he knew exactly well why he felt that way.
It had been nearly five years since Beomgyu's mother had passed away due to a fatal car crash that had taken her life. In those five years, the male experienced everything but true happiness.
Grief is said to have five stages; denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.
The first stage, denial, happened in his first year of high school. It happened during his fourth period, when he was called down to the office. At first, he thought he was in trouble for pushing Soobin down the stairs (which, in his opinion, was worth it!) but instead, he had received news from the principle that his father had just told him of his mothers fatal fate.
It left him an emotional mess for weeks.
At first, he didn't want to believe it, he wanted to laugh in the principles face and brush it off as a joke, but after seeing how teary eyed he became, that's when it hit him.
His mother was gone.
The person who cared for him so tenderly, warmly, always with care... was gone.
He wanted to deny everything, he had ran out of the office in a panic and went back to class, wanting to ignore that horrifying feeling that ate him nearly alive.
He knew by the time he went home his mother would be there, waiting for him with a gentle smile and warm arms, already making him a plate of his favorite food.
But by the time he had gotten home, all of his hopes were shattered when him and his father entered the empty house, cold and dull.
His mother was gone.
When he had told Soobin about this, the male had ran to his best friends house in an instant, immediately being met with Beomgyu crashing into his arms in full blown tears, broken sobs echoing off of the walls as he desperately screamed for his mother to come back.
She never did.
The second stage happened in the middle of his second year of high school, his whole persona changing as the seasons did.
Beomgyu was known to be someone so bright, so amazing... but now he was closed off, quiet, cold.
He was angry, so angry.
He was angry at the entire world.
Why did that reckless driver have to claim
the life of his mother, the one person who has done nothing but be the most kindest person in the world, why did it have to be her life that the driver had to claim?
Everyone tried to cheer the male up, always making small conversation with him, even if they didn't really know him. But all of those attempts were failed ones due to him being closed off from everyone, his anger bubbling in his blood the longer his mothers sweet voice wasn't in his ears, her warm arms around him.
It wasn't until near the end of the year, he had gotten into a fight. A physical one.
He didn't mean to, but the moment he heard these group of kids snickering pathetically about the loss of his mother, his vision flashed red as he pounced on them like a rabid animal ready to take the kill.
It was safe to say after a long negotiation and consideration with his father and the principle, he didn't get expelled.
The third stage, bargaining, happened in the winter of his third year of high school.
With his emotions somewhat stable and Soobin always being there for him, he thought he would be alright and nothing would be wrong...
but he was wrong himself.
Every night, he had begged on every star to bring his mother back. To take his useless life instead, bring back the woman who cared for everything and everyone around her and to end his misery.
He would sit at his window and clasp his hands together, beg with all of his heart, offer so many things, to bring her back.
He had promised to never tell a lie.
He had promised to never get into fights.
He had promised to sincerely love her again.
He wanted her back, he would've sacrificed the entire world if he had to.
but all of his prayers were never answered.
The fourth stage, depression, had hit him hard in the last year of his high school years.
Soobin, behind the kindest being on Earth, had stuck by his side in every single stage. Through every suffocating day, every moment where he had nothing but his thoughts eating him alive.
In his final year, the thought of his mother being gone finally processed properly, it crashed down on him hard.
He had disregarded his entire schoolwork, gave up on attending classes, made no efforts on making any friends. He had also grown distant from his father too, who was also going through grief, as she was his wife after all.
All of his teachers were concerned, when Beomgyu actually made an effort to go to school, he would only lay his head down on his desk and close his eyes, daydreaming about an alternate universe where his mother was never taken away from him, fate had ripped her away from his hands, leaving him empty.
He had barely even made it through his last year, nearly failed, almost got held back.
But if it weren't for Soobin shining just that little shimmer of light into his hopeless dark world, he was certain he would've never made it into a university of his dreams.
Picking himself up was the most difficult challenge he had ever faced yet, to come back and get his life together once again.
But with the support of his best friend and his patient teachers, he found his rhythm again.
Now here he was, experiencing the final stage, acceptance.
Even after three years, he was still trying to accept it, make his way through the narrow tunnel where the light faded, but with every strong step and the soft hands guiding him through that tunnel, he found himself at somewhat peace.
Beomgyu had always loved music, he would always make up songs and melodies to ease his heart.
But in honor of his mother, who had loved space, dreamt of going to the moon, he had taken astronomy and all of those other classes.
He wanted to keep his honor and become someone to discover a new planet and name it after her.
"Beom?"
Beomgyu's eyes widened as he heard Soobin's voice cut through his heavy thoughts, realizing that the red light they had stopped at had now turned green.
"S-Sorry." Beomgyu stuttered out as he pressed on the gas and began driving properly again, thankful nobody came out of their car and yelled at him. "Lost in space."
"More like lost in thought," Soobin countered what he said, earning a glare. "Want to tell me what's on your mind, Gyu?"
He should've known that Choi Soobin, his best friend forever after, wouldn't back down after realizing there was something on his mind.
It was a promise they both made to each other, to be honest with one another.
"Just thinking about my mother," Beomgyu said softly, noticing how Soobin slumped down slightly. "I think she would be proud of how far i've come."
"She is proud, Beomgyu." Soobin said, smiling warmly.
That small reassurance meant everything to him, which was enough to allow him to briefly forget about the lingering pain inside of his heart.
It didn't take long for the two of them to arrive at the cafe that Yeonjun had messaged them to meet up at, and once they went inside they were instantly met with the scene of Yeonjun and Huening Kai both ordering nearly everything on the menu... again.
"Goddamnit!" Beomgyu grunted under his breath, walking towards the table. "The last time they did this, we barely had enough money to pay for everything!"
"Can you blame them?" Soobin chuckled softly, seeing the way Yeonjun's eyes lit up in excitement when they brought out a red velvet cake. "They want to try everything on the menu, no man... or food... left behind."
As the two of them approached the table that was filled with endless plates of savory and sweet foods, it didn't take long for the youngest, Huening Kai, to notice their appearance.
"Beomwuu and Woobin hyung!" Huening Kai beamed happily, his mouth filled with mochi donut pieces which made his words slightly muffled. "It's swo gweat to swee you!"
"Did your parents ever teach you to not talk with your mouth filled with food?" Yeonjun scoffed, slapping the males mouth softly which made Huening Kai whine and shut his mouth closed to properly chew and digest the food in his system.
"It's great to see you guys again," Beomgyu spoke up the minute they sat down. "It's been a while, hasn't it?"
"Beomgyu, it's only been a week, you're acting as if we haven't seen each other for a year."
"That's what it feels like!" Huening Kai finally managed to say clearly after heaving down more cake slices. "Beomgyu hyung is always stuck in his room at the apartment and Soobin hyung follows you everywhere like a hopeless puppy dog! I'm left behind, all alone!"
Soobin and Yeonjun's face both flushed red at what the younger had just said, who didn't pay no mind to their reactions and only looked over at his favorite hyung, Beomgyu.
"How have you been, hyung?" He smiled sweetly.
Beomgyu glanced over at the younger, feeling himself melt in the males gaze, he had always had a soft spot for his best friend. "I've been okay, just studying here and there, focusing hard on classes."
"You did not just lie straight to Huening's face," Soobin said in disbelief, his jaw slacked as he stared at the male who rolled his eyes. "Hyuka, don't believe him! He's lying, all he does is sleep through his classes and play games all night! I have no idea how he's passing all of them!"
"You act like that's a surprise when Yeonjun here drinks every week and still manages good grades." Huening Kai snorted, taking a sip out of his milkshake as Yeonjun scowled softly.
"He has a point."
In just a blink of an eye, the four of them fell into a comfortable conversation, just chatting away about how college life has been treating each and every one of them and updating each other on different events that played out through their day.
It was quite difficult to spend more time around his friends lately, even having lunch together is becoming more difficult.
For Huening Kai, the male is studying to become a child educator in the teaching profession, so it's been a bit difficult to get a hand of him when he attends a whole different building than they do.
For Yeonjun, the male was studying to become a professional choreographer, always stuck in his own world the moment he enters that dance room. It was safe to say that his future career was guaranteed a successful one as he won nearly all of the competitions he attended, always placing either first or in the top three.
It was quite a surprise since he loved nothing more than to party and drink nearly every week.
"By the way, have you guys seen the news?" Yeonjun spoke up after their last topic died down. "There might be a meteor shower in two days."
Beomgyu glanced over at Soobin who's eyes physically lit up at the mention of it, it nearly made him want to roll his eyes by how predicable and alike the two of them were.
"Soobin hyung here told me about it earlier," Beomgyu spoke up, a smirk slightly evident on his lips when he saw the blonde slowly face him with widened eyes. "He wants to go see it, so why don't you both go see it together?"
"Choi Beomgyu!-"
"I think that's fine," Yeonjun looked over at Soobin who immediately smiled the moment the elder looked at him. "Do you want to, Bin?"
"I- uh- no- wait! ya- no- WAIT-"
Both Beomgyu and Huening Kai began to snicker by how much the male was panicking, watching both Yeonjun and Soobin in amusement. It was so evident that the both of them had feelings for each other, it was just so suffocating that the two of them haven't done anything yet!
After a while, the little panic session had calmed down, leaving behind a flustered Soobin and a very happy Yeonjun.
But now it was finally time for them to all leave back to their respective buildings.
"Hey, let's meet up tomorrow, I heard the meteor showers might have an early appearance so why not see them together?" Yeonjun said as the four of them walked out of the cafe.
"I would love to, hyung!" Huening Kai immediately agreed, but purely because he didn't want to go to the library afterschool and study for hours on end again. "What about you, Soobin and Beomgyu hyung? Will you go."
"Definitely." Soobin said right away, his nose flushing red from how fast he said it.
Beomgyu chuckled softly and rolled his eyes by how easily Soobin had folded.
"Beomgyu, what about you?"
The male looked over at Yeonjun, for a second, he was going to immediately agree and go with them, but the minute he opened his mouth he felt his entire world crash down as exhaustion and pain hit him nearly immediately, causing his whole mood to switch.
"No, I think I'll stay home," Beomgyu's voice became softer as his smile faltered a little, which was noticed by everyone. "Thank you for the offer though."
Even though everyone noticed the sudden change in the male, none of them bothered to question it or pressure him to go, they knew what Beomgyu was going through so they understood when he needed time to himself.
"If you need anything, just let us know okay?" Yeonjun held up his hand and made a little phone gesture, winking towards him which made the male gag on air jokingly.
"Yeah yeah, anyways, we have to get back to class now," Beomgyu checked his phone and saw they had only ten minutes left. "Don't wanna be late to class or anything."
"I can't believe you out of everyone is worried about behind late." Soobin snickered, which earned him a harsh slap on the arm.
"We'll see you later, let's eat together tomorrow again!" Huening Kai cheered happily as the four of them began to walk opposite ways from one another.
Once the two best friends were left alone together, nothing but silence lingered above them, but it was comfortable silence. Just the two of them walking peacefully towards Beomgyu's car after having a heartfelt not so lunch with his other two friends, it made him feel a bit better.
But he won't lie, that familiar gut wrenching feeling began to ate him little by little once again.
"Say," Soobin spoke up, looking over at his friend, he most likely knew the male felt saddened about his past. "Once we get back to the dorm, play a round of league?"
"Hmm," Beomgyu hummed, brushing his hair out of his face as he stared at the male with a glint of determination. "Depends, think you can handle me beating you?"
"That was one time, one! I also won that game, quit telling everyone I lost!"
Beomgyu snickered softly as he looked away, his heart thumping in a soft manner, with every throb, he couldn't help but feel a bit saddened every time he was reminded of his past. He was trying, trying so hard to accept what happened and not fall back into despair.
As he slowly glanced up into the sky, he remembered how his mother would always want him to go out with her in the middle of the night, where everything was asleep and quiet, to a place so secure and away from light pollution, where they could see the entire galaxy dance above their heads.
He missed her.
He had long given up on his dream on becoming someone who produced music for the world, he now wanted to achieve his dream of becoming someone who discovered an entire new planet.
He wanted to make his mother proud.
"Hey Beomgyu," Soobin spoke up, the two of them glancing at each other with softened gazes. "If you ever need anything... let me know okay? I can always cancel on Yeonjun and Huening Kai for you."
Beomgyu's lips pursed into a thin line as he shook his head. "You go have your fun, I'll be okay."
Just before Soobin could disagree and really push his offer out further, he saw the glint of emotions in the male eyes, a hidden meaning. He wanted to be alone for a little bit, which made him sigh and nod his head.
"You sure you don't want to see the meteor shower with us?"
"I'm positive," Beomgyu smiled apologetically since he wasn't particularly in the mood to see anything like that. "You wouldn't want to waste your opportunity right? To cuddle Yeonjun under the stars, oh how sweet! But poor Hyuka will be third wheeling..."
Soobin's face immediately began to flush an entire dark shade of red from what he had just said, and just before he could raise his voice and scream at Beomgyu for saying that, the male scattered away quickly with a small giggle.
It was fun to tease his best friend.
Just as he approached his car, that euphoric happiness only lasted for just a split second, then that crash landing feeling of emptiness took over him again.
I can barely stay happy... He fluttered his eyes closed as he allowed the warm wind embrace his entire body, gently kissing his cheeks as it did. It's getting harder everyday.
Even though it was hard, he had to fight through it, who else would make the others happy if he wasn't happy?
Slowly glancing up at the sky, his eyes softened seeing that pale pink aurora stretching across the globe, it was beautiful, he was certain his mother would boast around about how pretty it was.
If only... she was here.
"Beomgyu!" Soobin called out, rushing up to him as he heaved softly. "Do you want me to drive today?"
The male glanced over at his best friend and shook his head. "It's okay, don't worry, I can handle it."
Even though Soobin knew there was something certainly bothering Beomgyu, he knew it was better for the both of them if he were to not bring it up at all. He saw the emptiness in his eyes though, he was suffering through a lot, but even if he didn't say it much... he was always there for his best friend.
Just as they got into the car, Beomgyu took a second to cool down as he breathed in and out softly.
Even if today wasn't the greatest, tomorrow will be better.

"You'll be okay, right? Are you sure you don't want me to stay with you?"
Beomgyu glanced up from his book and looked over at Soobin who was practically ready to leave the apartment, looking over at the clock, he noticed how it was seven in the afternoon, which was still quite early to see the meteors.
"I told you, I'll be fine," Beomgyu closed his book and tossed it to the side, he barely even read it anyway. "You seem all dressed up though, excited? Maybe you'll get to rip Yeonjun's clothes off—"
"Oh, yeah, you're definitely fine alone." Soobin cut him off as he walked away from the male and back to his room to gather his things, which made Beomgyu snicker under his breath.
It had been two days, which finally meant the enchanting night of the meteor showers was finally here. For the past two days, their astronomy professor as been nothing but over the moon for this rare phenomenon to happen, he nearly cancelled class today just so he could find an amazing place to see all the meteors.
For the past two days, Soobin has been nothing but a wreck, his emotions going absolutely haywire now that the male realized there was a ninety percent chance that he and Yeonjun would be left alone since Huening Kai had the tendency to slip away and go somewhere else without anyone realizing, which made him freak out even more.
How could he go from cuddling with Beomgyu to nearly stabbing him with a sharp block of cheese in just five seconds?
Beomgyu glanced down at his hands, fumbling with them for a few seconds, just a small little anxiety calming action that he had developed over the years.
He loved holding hands, it comforted him, but after spending some time alone and isolated, he had learned to distract himself from that pleasure by using his own hands, picking at his skin until they were all bloody, biting on his nails until they no longer could grow more.
It was bad, he should stop that habit.
"The meteor shower is supposed to start around midnight," Soobin said the moment he walked out of his rooms, noticing how the male was picking at his skin. "Are you going to watch it."
Just before Beomgyu could speak up, he suddenly felt Soobin's hand softly wrap around his and pulled them away from one another, soothing out the stinging pain on his thumbs from the amount of skin he had picked off, nearly making himself bleed.
"I-I don't think I will," Beomgyu mumbled under his breath, he didn't realize that he was doing that. "There's no point, it's just rocks in the sky."
Soobin frowned softly and shook his head. "They're more than rocks, Beomgyu, they're an amazing sight, once in a lifetime chance."
"...Don't you think... she would be happy if you got to see them too?"
Beomgyu's eyes widened when he had said that, guilt slowly started to eat him alive when he suddenly remembered how dearly his mother wanted to see a meteor shower in her lifetime.
"I...I don't know," His voice began to waver, he doesn't know why he's scared. "I-I'm scared, everything will remind me of her."
Soobin sighed softly and embraced his best friend in a warm hold, allowing Beomgyu to just bury his face into his chest and relieve his anxiety by the aroma of chestnut and sugar, a scent that Soobin had carried with him ever since he was a little baby.
"Do you want to know something?" Soobin ran his fingers through Beomgyu's hair, feeling him nod his head underneath. "This is a late story my grandmother had told me when I was a kid, always believe it, forever will."
"Is this another one of your lame stories about how there's a kingdom made out of stardust in the far away galaxy again?" Beomgyu said, looking up at his best friend who stuck his tongue out and gently hit his forehead.
"No! Don't make fun of that, it's true, everyone knows that there is absolutely a cosmic kingdom out there — anyways, not my point."
Soobin slowly loosened his arms around Beomgyu, a small signal that he had to leave soon, so allowing his best friend to take a step back, the two of them stared at each other as they waited for the sentence to be continued on.
"My grandmother had told me when there is a chance where a meteor shower will appear," Soobin's eyes softened as the heartwarming memory of his grandmother replayed in his mind, he missed her. "It's because the cosmic kingdom above has sent out a chance for you to make a wish."
"You just said it didn't have to do anything with that silly kingdom," Beomgyu snorted softly, but the words the elder had said lingered in his head. "I believe in everything you say, but the kingdom."
"You're such an asshole, Beomgyu," Soobin rolled his eyes and ruffled his head rather aggressively. "Anyways, do you understand what I'm trying to say?"
Beomgyu took that moment to properly think about what every word Soobin said meant. His grandmother had told him that when a meteor shower appears, it's because the celestial cosmic space family from the royal stardust kingdom is allowing them to make wishes? That seems... stupid, but he won't say anything, if Soobin believed in it then he guesses he'll let the make believe in anything.
"Just take a chance, please," Soobin held onto the males shoulders, staring into his eyes with shallow desperation, that desperation to keep his best friend live and sane. "Make a wish, any wish, it'll make you feel better."
"All of the wishes I hoped for, had never came true."
"This time could change," Soobin gently caressed the side of his best friend's face before glancing at the clock. "You just have to believe, please believe?"
Beomgyu could tell the male wanted to hurry up and leave the apartment so he could scatter off to Yeonjun who was most likely waiting for him, so with a gentle sigh, he decided to quit being such a burden and just nod his head. "I'll try to believe, I'll wish on a star."
Soobin broke out into a huge bunny smile before squeezing his arms around Beomgyu tightly. "There's my strong best friend! Alright, we'll both make wishes!"
"You're going to wish for like... Yeonjun to like you back, which is already true and granted so I don't know what else you need."
"Agh- you!- ugh, whatever." Soobin shook his head and pushed him away, walking over towards the door as he prepared his leave.
"You'll be okay?"
"I'll be okay."
"Alright," Soobin said, nodding his head as he felt convinced, mostly reassured. "Text me if you need anything!"
Beomgyu threw a thumbs up and smiled cheekily, watching the male take one final glance at him before opening the door and taking his leave, hearing it click shut the moment he was out.
As he waited a few more seconds before confirming Soobin was gone, the males smile dropped as he slowly started to feel that emptiness overtake him, the words the male had said flying straight through his brain as he felt that cold loneliness start to embrace him again, a sickening feeling he wished would go away.
The hollowness in his heart was evident, affected him so much to the point just maintaining his smile felt harder everyday.
Slowly standing up from the stool, the male walked over towards the balcony and glanced outside, noticing how the sky's blue hue began to fall dimmer as that magical enchanting aurora of pink and blue stretched out across the globe, now more beautiful than ever.
If what Soobin said was true, then maybe he'll try it.
I'll wish on a star.

beep! beep! beep!
Beomgyu's eyes shot opened as his alarm clock blared throughout the room, causing him to sit up and squint his eyes in exhausting discomfort as he turned it off, looking at the time.
The males heart nearly leaped out of his chest when he saw it was nearly midnight, he had set an alarm to go off at this time so he would wake up in time and not miss it, since he had grown bored and decided to sleep the tiring hours off.
Slowly allowing himself to stretch the exhaustion out of his body, the male slipped out of bed and shivered by how cold it was in the entire apartment, but that didn't bother him, he knew the minute he stepped outside it would be warm.
As he walked out of his room and into the dark hallway, he couldn't help but have that same lonely feeling creep upon him, having Soobin not here was really starting to affect him, should he had gone to the little hang out?
Maybe not, he would've been fourth wheeling with Hyuka.
Biting the bottom of his lip softly, the male tried his best to shake off that growing pain that will eventually overtake him. Instead, he diverted his attention towards the balcony where he walked towards, opening it softly as that soft warm wind kissed him, as if it were greeting and thanking him for coming outside.
The minute he stepped out and looked up at the sky, his whole breath was taken away.
In the sky, two vibrant and enchanting glittery colors of light pink and blue gracefully swirled through the air. The colors intertwining, which created a mesmerizing dance of hues. The vibrant colors of the swirls resembled the hues of the distant galaxies so far from their reach, while the stars that sprinkled throughout the cosmic sky added a touch of magic, sparkling in the night sky which made it feel even more magic. The stars were like tiny little specs of light, scattered all across the sky like sparkling little diamonds. They twinkled, shimmered, danced, creating a magical enchanting atmosphere.
Beomgyu couldn't believe what he was witnessing, that he had managed to keep himself alive to witness this beauty.
The male stood there in awe, his eyes lingering on the sky as he adored and imprinted every single detail he saw in front of him.
It wasn't until the moment the clock strike twelve, that was when he saw the first white hue soar across the sky.
As Beomgyu slowly began to realize what was happening, that one streak of light suddenly began to turn into multiple, soaring across the colorful sky like shooting stars. It was happening, the meteor shower had finally started. Each one left behind an enchanting trail of stardust, painting the sky with beauty. Soon enough, the sky began to come alive with a symphony of meteors as it danced across the heavens, their trails shimmering in varieties of colors, soon slowly fading away but behind the one that faded was a new one, encasing the entire aurora sky with the beautiful event.
Beomgyu couldn't help but be absolutely fixated, as if he were in a trance, his body stuck and frozen in time as he stared up at the amazing once in a lifetime phenomenon in front of him.
It wasn't until the words Soobin had said to him repeated in his mind, as if it were a little reminder of why he truly came outside.
"Make a wish, any wish, it'll make you feel better."
Those words ran through Beomgyu's mind like a broken record on repeat, at first, he was a bit hesitant to do it, all of his wishes were ignored and never granted, plus there was certainly no way any of his wishes would come true.
But he was a man who was true to most of his words.
So taking a step closer to the railing, the male looked up at the sky and noticed that one meteor was brighter than the others, bigger too. Maybe that was the right one to wish upon.
Slowly intertwining his fingers together, the male brought his head down and gently placed his forehead on his knuckles, closing his eyes softly as he breathed out.
"I.." He hesitated for a second as he had to properly think about his wish, his eyebrows furrowing down. "I wish..."
"...I wish to not be lonely anymore, for this hollowness in my heart to be replaced with true happiness."
The male spoke softly, his voice barely above a whisper, and the moment he finished his wish he slowly lifted his head up and glanced up at the sky, unaware that the largest meteor had gotten brighter.
After waiting for a few seconds, he scoffed softly and shook his head, he should've known that making a wish was absolutely pointless if it weren't to come true in a second.
Just as he was about to go inside and sleep the rest of the night, he suddenly noticed how that giant white meteor seemed to not burn at all, his eyes lingering on it as confusion spread throughout his mind.
Shouldn't it already burned in the atmosphere?
The more he stared at the meteor, the slower his eyes widened when he realized why it hadn't burned just yet.
It was going to crash down somewhere.
Panic slowly began to set in his stomach when he realized that they were about to be impacted by a meteor, the damage that it could do would be harmful!
The male fumbled around his pockets to see where his phone was, he needed to call Soobin and make sure him and the others were okay, but when he realized that he had left his phone inside of his room, that's when his anxiety spiked up even more.
Just before he could go inside and grab it, it was like time itself had suddenly slowed down, his eyes following the trail of the meteor as it slowly came closer and closer... and closer to their surface, his eyes widening as it began to make its way for them.
In just a blink of an eye and a giant white flash, the meteor had crashed into a forest far away from his view point, immediately causing the entire power around his whole district to go out.
The meteor had crashed landed into the forest, taking out all of the power.
But... wasn't it supposed to... cause more damage?
In a blink of an eye, Beomgyu's shaky breath left his lips as he started blinking rapidly, trying to adjust his eyes to the sudden darkness, the only light that helped him see was from the colorful aurora above.
The male stood there, his hands shaking as he realized that he didn't die, he didn't get blown into pieces, but now he was confused. A meteor that size was certain to wipe out the entire city, so how come it only crashed into the forest with minimal damage?
The male walked closer towards the railing and squinted his eyes in the direction of where it landed. It had crashed into this forest just a few miles away from where his apartment complex was, in the more outskirts area of the city.
He could barely see what damage the meteor had caused, but once his eyes fully adjusted, he slowly began to realize that there was something in the forest.
Instead of a crimson orange red hue eating away at every beautiful living thing, there was nothing except smoke and... pink... and blue... dust?
Slowly squinting his eyes, he started to notice that there was a blue light blinking rapidly, as if it were an 'SOS' signal waiting for help.
Maybe it was...?
All of a sudden, that anxious feeling inside of his stomach turned into something else, as if there were a giant magnetic piece inside of it that was begging for him to go to where the blue blinking light was, discover what was calling out for him.
He had never felt this way before, but he felt a little scared, all of the lights in his district were out, surrounding him with complete darkness. The only source of light he could make out was that blue blinking light, should he... go to it?
It was a gut feeling in his stomach, a feeling that pulled him in and begged for him to do the right thing.
I shouldn't... but it feels like I have to...
After mentally fighting with himself for a few minutes, the male gave into his sudden urge and swiftly went inside and grabbed his car keys, messily bolting out the door as he struggled to put his shoes on, nearly tripping on his face as he did.
He was going to discover what was calling for him, what pulled on his heartstrings to lead him there.
He couldn't help but feel so terrified though.
₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆
Beomgyu parked the car near an empty area and immediately got out of it, his heart dropping at the sight of the forest that looked so eerie and terrifying, should he really go through with this?
Throughout the entire car ride there was only one thing on his mind: to find what was calling out for him.
He couldn't get the blue blinking light out of his head, it was like invisible strings had wrapped around him and began to pull his body towards the mysterious blinking light, having no choice but to listen to his body.
The male stood there in fear though, anything could happen once he enters the terrifying forest, it began to make his anxiety spike up the longer he stood there.
Just before he considered heading back into his car and driving away, the male saw the blinking blue light again, as if it were calling for him, which made a rush of adrenaline soar through him.
But before he could take one step, something suddenly started to form in front of him, small glittery particles coming from out of no whereas a... star... started to form...?
"A-A star...?" Beomgyu whispered underneath his breath in shock, seeing a tiny little glowing star floating in front of him after fully forming. He couldn't believe his eyes, he was seeing a star this close in person before.
Just before he could touch it, the star had suddenly flew into the forest, immediately causing him to yelp as his mind went blank, chasing right after it as it flew further and further into it.
"Wait!" Beomgyu called out for the star, the light blue star flying through the trees in ease, as if it were guiding him through it. "Wait, little star! Please!"
The male ran as fast as he could, nearly tripping a million times as he had to jump over multiple fallen trees and broken branches, making sure not to fall into any holes and most definitely not get himself killed in the middle of this forest, all because he was chasing a star!
It seemed like it had began to slow down, finally having a closer distance between him and the star, now finding it easier to keep up.
His throat was burning in desperation for proper air support, his legs were aching and his feet throbbed in pain, but he disregarded that and continued walking slowly behind the star as it slowed down.
"Where are you taking me...?" Beomgyu asked the star before realizing that it couldn't talk, which ended up with him flushing in embarrassment.
He honestly never expected to be talking to a star which guided him carefully through the forest, matter of fact, he never expected for this to happen at all. It felt so unreal, as if he were in a dream.
After ten minutes of following the star, carefully shining his flashlight down towards the ground to make sure he didn't trip over anything, but that's when he realized that the green grass below him slowly began to turn more dim, as if it had been on fire for a while.
That's when he looked up and shined his light directly in front of him, his eyes widening in shock when he made it out of the forest, arriving directly in the center of it where it was a clear field... except there was something in the middle.
As the colorful hues above illuminated enough light for him, the male turned his flashlight off as the small star floating next to him began to fly towards something, his eyes widening when he saw pink and blue smoke coming off the ground.
That's when he saw it.
A silhouette of a person laying on the ground.
"Holy shit!" Beomgyu exclaimed in fear as he immediately ran towards where rhe person was, tiny chunks of strange sparkly rocks scattered all around the closer he approached the male.
It was like the star had purposely lead him to this person, floating directly next to the unconscious person as it began to glow more, as if were signaling Beomgyu for help.
The male slowed his pace as he stared at the person on the ground, his heart thumping against his chest when he saw the person not moving at all which certainly meant they were unconscious. But he was also confused, why were they surrounded by so many crystal like rocks that had some sort of dust on them?
As Beomgyu slowly approached the person, he called out for them softly, wondering if he would get an answer.
But after a short two minutes, there was no hope, they were out cold. So he crouched down next to the unconscious person, his eyes widening when he saw how... sparkly they looked.
The person beneath him was a young man, his hair a vibrant shade of pink which contrasted against his pale, almost translucent skin. Bathed in the soft moonlight, his skin seemed to sparkle and shimmer, as if adorned with magical glitter.
With his eyes gently closed and his lips slightly parted, he appeared to be stuck in an enchanting yet comforting dream, but even though he looked so peaceful, something about the moons gentle glow on him just highlighted his features perfectly, giving him an ethereal and otherworldly allure.
However, Beomgyu couldn't help but notice something about the male.
There were dark purple bruises scattered along his arms and legs, the white shirt he wore seemed to be ripped up and torn apart, easily showcasing these injuries. He noticed how the males pants were ripped as well, stained with a golden color as his feet were scratched and tattered up, as if he were running from something.
That's when Beomgyu realized it, the male was bleeding... golden... blood...?
Immediately gasping loudly, he gently took the boy into his hold as he examined him further, which just a single touch of his finger he noticed how sickening freezing the male was, nearly causing a cold chill to run down his spine.
"Hello...?" He called out, his lips trembling as he had so many questions running through his head.
He looked up at the little star that floated in front of him up and down, as if were signaling for him to take the person, slowly looking down at the unconscious male, his heart began to clench in pain by how injured he was.
He shouldn't be doing this.
He can't be involved with a random stranger.
He doesn't know what the fuck he was doing.
But despite all of his worries, he found himself walking back to his car as he held the unconscious boy in his arms in a bridal style, holding him close as he followed the tiny star out of the forest.
The boy was freezing cold, it was as if he were a dead body, but Beomgyu knew he wasn't dead since he saw him breathing properly so that's... good.
Slowly glancing down at the male, he couldn't help but notice how in pain he seemed, even though he was unconscious, he seemed to register every single painful sensation shooting throughout his body.
It made his heart hurt, seeing someone in pain, like he once was.
But he wasn't going to abandon him, he won't let him suffer alone with his injuries.
"Don't worry," Beomgyu whispered underneath his breath, holding the boy closer to where he was properly resting his head on his shoulder.
"I'll take care of you."
₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆
Beomgyu kicked the door to his apartment open as he walked inside, ignoring how the small star had been following him for the past hour now.
He notified right away that Soobin hadn't returned home yet, he most likely fell asleep and cuddled with Yeonjun since the two of them were alone together, which he didn't mind at all, it gave him a better opportunity to heal this boy in his arms.
His arms were sore and tired, he felt bad, but he wouldn't give up just yet without aiding the male. So looking around his apartment, he considered putting the male on his couch before disagreeing with that thought, it would be uncomfortable. So he walked over to his room and gently kicked the door open and walked over towards his bed.
Once he was close enough, the male slowly but carefully placed the boy down onto his bed, noticing how the males body seemed to ease down when he made contact with the soft bed.
Beomgyu took a step back and sighed softly, running his hand through his hair as he stared at the male in front of him with a calm look.
BUT HE WAS FUCKING PANICKING BRO
"Oh my fucking god!" Beomgyu cried out as his calm demeanor had shut down instantly as he grabbed onto his hair as panic began to wash all over his face.
"I-I just... walked through a forest then found someone bleeding gold! What the fuck?! Soobin's going to kill me, oh my god I don't even know who this person is oh my god oh my god oh my god—"
Beomgyu's little panicked rant was cut short when the little star had suddenly flew into his face, nearly blinding him are stumbled back and covered his face. "Now a fucking star is trying to blind me!"
After his eyes adjusted to the bright light for a few seconds, the male looked over and saw how the little starlight was hovering over the unconscious person, highlighting his injuries as if it were telling him to do something.
"R-Right!" Beomgyu finally realized what it wanted him to do. "I'll go find the first aid kit..."
As Beomgyu left the room, he couldn't help but have a swirling tornado of emotions sweep him away. He was confused on why he was even doing this or how this strange phenomenon even happened, he felt scared.
But he also didn't want to leave the poor boy, he knew that he must've been suffering, but everything seemed so strange. He looked so pretty, ethereal even, but he also looked unreal.
That bleeding golden blood, it wasn't normal.
As Beomgyu roamed around his kitchen and went to his bathroom, a painful thirty minutes of struggle, he finally found the first aid kit Soobin had stuffed away into some closet, patting himself on the back for actually finding something that he didn't need to ask help for.
Walking back into the room, he noticed how the male had stopped shivering and how at ease he looked, it made his heart flutter by how relaxed he was.
Looking around, the male grabbed a stool by his next and placed it next to the bed, opening up the first aid kit as he gathered some materials he figured he needed to tend to the injures the male had.
It felt unreal, he doesn't know how he found himself gently tending to the small cuts and bruises the mysterious boy had, wiping away the dried up golden blood as he wrapped bandages around the males arms and legs. Soon enough, he gently wiping the dirt off of the male with a wet towel, making sure that none of it stayed.
It took nearly an hour to properly tend to each and every small little injury, along with wiping away the dirt that stained the males pretty sparkly skin.
Once he was finished, Beomgyu sat up straight and sighed softly, his eyes lingering on the males sleeping face which had a small bandaid on his cheek, something he placed there to cover up the nasty bruise that began to form.
The male sat there for a few minutes, just admiring the male in front of him, he wouldn't deny it... he was gorgeous, but he was curious... where did he run away from? Why was he in the middle of the forest?
Beomgyu stared down at the males clothes for a few seconds, noticing how ripped and damp they were, that must've been uncomfortable. However, he didn't want to take them off without the males consent, so next best thing he had was gently placing his blanket over the males body.
Once he got done with that, he stood up and sighed, noticing how the little glowing blue star slowly descended and landed on the males chest, lying there as if it were a pet.
"You little star," Beomgyu whispered underneath his breath, so many unanswered questions ran through his mind. "You lead me to him, you wanted me to save him."
Taking a brief second to stare at the males sleeping face once more, he eventually walked away and out of the room, gently shutting the door closed as he walked over to the living room and collapsed onto the couch.
Soobin was going to kill him for bringing in someone random into the apartment.
But he couldn't help it, it was like something in him felt proud for bringing him in.
Beomgyu was broken, but he wasn't heartless.
He knew it was the right thing to bring him in and tend to his wounds carefully, but he just felt so... confused on who this mysterious boy was. He looked around his age or maybe a few years younger, but he has never seen him at the university, but maybe he lived in another city?
But that didn't make sense... he had only found him because of the blinking blue light he saw when the meteor had crashed into the ground and cut all the power.
Which reminded him that he needed to call Soobin soon and reassure the male that he wasn't dead, but he decided to do that later and rest his body on the couch that began to ache.
He felt that exhaustion hit him hard, after spending the past few hours healing someone and making sure they were okay, he wanted nothing more than to lay down and sleep for millions of years, but he knew after tomorrow he needed to be prepared to survive through his dreadful classes again.
So in the morning when he wakes up, he is set on finding out more about this mysterious boy he had found in the middle of the woods.
It wasn't uncommon for people to dye their hair, but something about the males hair looked so natural... it was strange, nobody ever is born with natural pink hair, but something about the males one seemed... too perfect.
He also noticed how no matter how many times he wiped the males arms and legs, the glitter never came off of his skin, it was like it was literally on his skin itself which he found weird, he also noticed how he was a ghostly pale which didn't really made him question much.
What really did get to him, was the color of his blood, is that weird? Someone bleeding blood that's gold, a very beautiful golden color that shines underneath the moonlight perfectly.
There were so many questions he had about the boy and that were meant for the boy, but he seemed like he was absolutely out cold and guaranteed to not wake up for hours or maybe days, he just hope he doesn't starve to death.
It was so frustrating, Beomgyu was starting to become slightly pissed off that he had done this without thinking everything through, but his moral dignity knew it was better for him to do this instead of leaving him to die.
Plus, that little star that followed them around like a little pet, was adorable yet kinda freaky, he has never ever seen something so strange actually appear right in front of him.
Beomgyu laid his head down and allowed his body to ease down, the cold darkness that surrounded him slowly started to enclose around him, making that anxious feeling he felt come back.
Not to mention his heart felt more hollow than usual, perhaps this was his punishment for trying to care so much, he went back to stage one.
But he ignored it, instead leaning more onto the couch as he closed his eyes, trying to let that exhaustion overtake him and not let the anxious one happen.
In just a few minutes, the male finally drifted off to sleep, finally finding peace.
He wasn't sure if it was the late night hallucinations getting to him, but for some reason, when he thought about the boy inside of his room.
He felt his hollow heart slowly become full.

tap tap tap
Beomgyu's eyebrows furrowed slightly when he felt something tap against his nose then stop, after waiting for a few seconds, the male ignored it and slowly allowed himself to fall back into dream land until it began to happen again.
The male ignored it once again, but after it happened on and off for nearly ten minutes, he had no choice but to groan loudly as he slowly opened his eyes, squinting them in pain as the bright sun from outside nearly blinded him.
The male couldn't help but feel grumpy, he didn't want to wake up this early, but oh well.
Slowly rubbing his eyes, the male suddenly felt some presence next to him, so as he slowly turned his head, he suddenly made eye contact with the most beautiful pair of eyes he had even seen in his life.
Next to him was the boy he had tended to last night, kneeling on the ground and was dangerously close to his face, his eyes widened with pure curiosity as he stared at Beomgyu who felt breathless.
If the boy looked pretty at night asleep, then Beomgyu would say he looks absolutely gorgeous awake in the kiss of the sunlight.
But what tugged at his heart the most was males eyes, adorned with a blend of pink and blue, truly captivated all of his attention. In the center, was a hint of purple which added an extra touch of beauty. It was honestly like gazing into a mesmerizing kaleidoscope, the colors blending together perfectly. But what truly caught his attention was the sparkles in those eyes, it was as if a constellations of stars had found their way home within them, twinkling and shimmering with a cosmic allure.
He didn't even notice how the male had slightly gotten closer to him until he felt the tips of their noses touch, causing Beomgyu's eyes to widen as he yelped loudly.
"Wait! Too close! Too close!" Beomgyu began to panic when the male had suddenly backed away and stared at him in shock.
The two of them stared at each other for a few minutes until Beomgyu slowly sat up, his hands trembling as he felt so weak under the males gaze.
But first things first, he needed to figure out stuff.
"What's your name?" Beomgyu asked him softly, noticing how the male was itching to touch him again.
The male stared up at Beomgyu with wide pretty eyes, but then tilted his head, as if he didn't understood what he had just asked.
"Where did you come from?" Beomgyu asked once again, allowing the males fingers to gently caress his face, even though he felt a little uncomfortable.
Even though he was asking questions, all of them went unanswered, which made him a bit confused as to why—
"Mmph!"
Beomgyu's eyes widened when the males gentle hold on his face tightened as a pair of lips slammed down onto his, the softness instantly melting his senses.
It took Beomgyu a few seconds to process what was going on, but until he felt the touch of the tip of his wet tongue, causing him to immediately grab onto the males shoulders and pushed him off, the both of them gasping for air as Beomgyu's face slowly began to flush a dark shade of red.
"Wh-What the hell?!" Beomgyu stuttered out as he accidentally pushed the male away from him and stood up, covering his blushing face in shock. "Why would you do that? I don't even know you!"
"I-I had to do it, I'm sorry! If not, then I wouldn't be able to understand you!"
The anger that started to rise in Beomgyu froze right away, causing the male to go numb when he heard how sweet and honey like the males voice below him was. It didn't help either that his heart was doing fucking cartwheels all around.
"I-I...I don't know where I am..." The male with pink hair stuttered softly, slowly sitting up as he glanced at his bandages. "D-Did you... did you... heal... me?"
Beomgyu stood there absolutely confused, the first thing that this dude he had found does was fucking kiss him?! What the fuck! He wanted to be angry and yell at him for crossing his boundaries, but when he noticed how confused and teary-eyed the male looked, he couldn't help but feel a bit bad, especially when he was on his knees and staring at Beomgyu with the most sparkly puppy eyes ever, it nearly made him fold right away.
With a calm shaky breath, the male recollected his thoughts and nodded his head. "Yes, I healed you, but what do you mean you wouldn't be able to understand me...?"
The male with pink hair wiped his tears. "I-It's a form of communication, kissing someone allows me to fully understand and comprehend what language they speak."
Beomgyu tilted his head as he stared at him in even more confusion. "That's possible?"
"Of course! You're a human right? You wouldn't understand," The male slowly stood up before shakily falling forward, causing Beomgyu to immediately catch him. "Astra found you, you're here to help me! To protect me!"
"A-Astra?"
"Mhm, my star! But you found me, you'll save me, protect me!"
"Protect...?"
"You healed me, saved me! You're meant for me!"
"Stop!" Beomgyu said as his face began to heat up even more, so many questions swirled in his head as the male in front of him spoke absolute nonsense. "I don't even know you, I found yourself in the middle of a forest, who are you?"
"My name is Astrophel!" The males eyes actually sparkled as he wrapped his arms around Beomgyu to keep himself steady. "B-But I guess my human name is Taehyun, so call me Taehyun!"
"A-Astrophel...?"
"Taehyun!"
"Okay, Taehyun," Beomgyu mumbled softly, staring into the males eyes, it was like he had a literal excited little puppy wrapped around his arms. "Why were you in the middle of the forest unconscious and bleeding? Please tell me what's going on, I'm so confused."
Taehyun was a bit startled that Beomgyu had no idea what was happening, but after realizing he had successfully landed on a planet where they couldn't reach him, he decided it was okay to tell the human.
"I had escaped from my kingdom that was under attack, my family- they- they were hurt. My kingdom is in the middle of a war, they sent assassins after me, so I had to escape and find the farthest planet for safety."
Beomgyu stood there absolutely baffled, he was going to be honest, he doesn't know what the fuck Taehyun was rambling about.
"My crystal rock that I travelled in seemed to not like the pressure of this planets atmosphere, causing me to crash land into that forest you mentioned, but you found me! You'll protect me!"
"Wh-What kingdom are you talking about...?"
"Estella Kingdom, the kingdom made out of stars in the center of the galaxy, I'm the prince of the stars!"
Beomgyu's jaw dropped immediately as he instinctively let go of Taehyun and backed away in fear, which caused the male to yelp loudly as he fell back onto his knees.
"That hurt! Why did you drop me?!"
"Kingdom... of... stars...?" That couldn't be true, that legend was a myth, there wasn't an actual kingdom in the far away galaxy made out of stardust. "I-If you're from there, does that mean you're not human...?"
"Of course not, I was born from cosmic dust and stars! I'm a royal star!"
Beomgyu couldn't help but rethink his entire life, nearly everyone believed that there was a kingdom in the sky belonging to a cosmic family, but now that he finally heard it was true and confirmed, he couldn't help but be fucking stunned.
"But what is your name, my savior!"
"B-Beomgyu... Choi... Beomgyu..." The male was completely out of it at this point, even when Taehyun started to stand up and cling onto him once again, he didn't flinch one bit, he just stood there and literally reconsidered whether his existence was real or not.
"My kingdom is in the middle of a space war," Taehyun mumbled softly, pressing his cheek against Beomgyu's cheek, sighing softly from the warmth. "I was sent here to disguise myself as a human to evade the harms that are coming for me, will you protect me?"
Beomgyu doesn't know whether to melt in the males hold due to his cuteness or absolutely freak out because this person claiming to be from outer space is full on pushing their entire body onto him, he tried his best to make sense of everything but honestly he was still confused as fuck.
"I don't know... how I could... help you." I can't even protect and help myself.
"It's easy!" Taehyun said, even though he meant for it to come out as calm and excited, his tone nearly sounded like he was panicking. "I disguise myself as a human, you teach me human ways, I only need to stay here until my kingdom is safe again! I promise it won't be hard."
Beomgyu couldn't help but feel his throat close up, they way Taehyun just admired him and viewed him as this sort of savior that came into his life and now will protect him with everything he has, which wasn't true at all.
In all honesty, Beomgyu knew he couldn't care for Taehyun, he couldn't protect him if he couldn't even protect himself from the harms all around them.
It made him feel so guilty, memories of his mother coming into his mind, he had always depended on her to heal him when times were hard, but now he felt so alone.
No matter how many people he had surrounding him, supporting him, that loneliness in his heart never faded one bit.
"Bemogu," Taehyun spoke up softly, causing the male to glance up at him. "Why are you producing water works...?"
Beomgyu's eyes widened when he felt the males cold fingers gently cup his face, his thumbs swatting away at the warm tears that slowly rolled down his face, which forced him to stare into Taehyun's ever so enchanting eyes as the male rubbed away his 'water works'.
"This is a human emotion right, what is it, Bemogu?"
"It's pronounced Beomgyu, by the way," Beomgyu spoke up softly, afraid that if he raised his tone even just a little that he would scare the male. "It's called sadness, I am sad, Taehyun."
"Sadness?" Taehyun repeated, his head tilting softly as his thumbs felt gross from the tears, something inside of him didn't like seeing Beomgyu 'sad'. "Where I am from, we never feel sad or produce water works, what does it feel like?"
"Like an emptiness in your heart, a feeling that feels so overwhelming you're confused or unsure what to do," Beomgyu said, noticing small dusty freckles spread across the males face, only visible if you were super close to him. "So... your body produces tears to try and get that overwhelming stress out."
"Tears..." Taehyun said softly under his breath, it dawned upon Beomgyu that maybe the male really wasn't human after all, all the things he said were true. "Sadness..."
"I... also feel that way, sadness! Like sad empty feelings in my heart," Taehyun placed his own hand on his chest and beamed brightly, his eyes full and happy with fascination.
"Let's be sad together, Beomgyu!"
Beomgyu couldn't help but laugh, that wasn't something a lot of people said out of the blue, and the way Taehyun said it in such a happy tone it made him so amused that someone could say that.
"You're laughing!" Taehyun's eyes sparkled even more. "I know that emotion, you're happy now, aren't you?"
The male stood there and felt himself become hypnotized by how pretty and enchanting Taehyun's eyes were, it was pretty uncomfortable though, he had never felt this way towards someone, it scared him.
But when he saw how happy the male was, he couldn't help but nod softly, leaning into his touch. "Yeah, I'm happy."
Just before the two of them could discuss more about Taehyun's unfortunate situation and his past, the door had suddenly slammed open, causing both boys to flinch and look over at the door which revealed Soobin's figure.
"Beomgyu! I'm home! I'm so sorry I- fell asleep and I am... so..." Soobin first bursted into the door in a panic, but once he fully saw the new visitor in their home, he couldn't help but feel his jaw drop.
"Soobin—"
"Is this person evil, Beomgyu?" Taehyun asked right away, staring up at the male with fear in his eyes, immediately wrapping his arms around his neck and pulled him close. "Get him away!"
"Evil? No! Soobin hyung isn't evil, he's only evil when playing Minecraft!" Beomgyu wrapped his arms around Taehyun's waist, trying to peel him off of him as embarrassment began to rise in his cheeks.
Soobin stared at the two in absolute shock, the sight he was seeing was slowly processing through his mind as he watched Beomgyu desperately try to peel Taehyun off of him, the pink headed male not budging one bit as he clung to him as a cozy koala, but it was embarrassing.
"I leave for one night... just ONE night," Soobin muttered out, falling onto his knees in shock as Beomgyu's eyes widened seeing how pale he became. "And... I come home... to you having a boyfriend?!"
"He's not my boyfriend—"
"What's a boyfriend?"
"Taehyun, quiet, please." Beomgyu groaned softly and gently grabbed the male, pushing him down onto the couch before scurrying over to Soobin who seemed like he was about to pass out. "Hyung, it's a long story, but I promise I'll explain it to you!"
Soobin stared at his best friend in shock before slowly looking over at Taehyun who stared at him curiously, his eyes sparkling which made him nearly squeal in adoration.
"So the reason you didn't want to hang out with us last night, is because you brought your boyfriend over to the apartment?!" Soobin grabbed onto Beomgyu's shoulder and dragged him down, causing him to groan loudly as he shook his head.
"No! No, hear me out!"
Taehyun stared at the two with full curiosity in his eyes, watching as the tall bunny like human with blonde hair grabbed onto Beomgyu, staring into his eyes with the same sparkles he stared at the human with... but just watching them... made an uncomfortable feeling form inside of him, he doesn't know why, but seeing them together made him feel... angry...?
"I found him last night, I took him home—"
"I didn't know you were the type to enjoy one night stands—"
"Shut up!"
As the two were bickering, Taehyun couldn't help but scoff slightly before covering his mouth, he had never made that sound before... everything was so weird on Earth, but just seeing that strange human near his Beomgyu made him upset!
"Astra..." He mumbled underneath his breath, watching the star slowly form in his hand before floating up in front of him. "Bring him back to me!"
The little blue star shined brightly before flying directly towards Beomgyu, who was too busy distracting Soobin by trying to convince him that he was certainly not into one night stands and didn't sleep with Taehyun!
"I swear, he claims he's a— OW!" Beomgyu fell forward into Soobin's arms as he felt something hit the back of his head, causing him to lose balance.
The both of them looked over towards Taehyun who was unintentionally glaring at them two, which sorta sent chills down their spines when the sparkles in his eyes dulled down just a little.
"Taehyun—"
"Beomgyu, you're my human, my protector!" Taehyun said, unintentionally whining as he walked over towards the male and pulled him up, wrapping his arms around him tightly. "Why aren't you paying attention to me? Tell me, why is this human more important than me, your star!"
"T-Taehyun..."
Soobin stared at the two for a few minutes, noticing how clingy Taehyun was towards Beomgyu as the male had no idea what the fuck to do, almost as if he were panicking in his head on what to do and not what to do.
After a few seconds, the male sighed and stood up.
"I think it's time we talked about this properly."
After he said that, they did exactly what he said. For the next few minutes, the three of them sat comfortably on the couch (with Taehyun cuddled up next to Beomgyu who was still confused as hell) and Soobin sitting in front of them in the comfortable chair near the mini bookshelf he had made.
In that moment, Beomgyu began to discuss what had happened to Soobin. From the start of how when he woke up and the meteor hit which caused all of the lights to go out, how he saw a blinking blue light which ended up being the little star named "Astra" signaling for help, how he had driven to the forest and found Taehyun... the rest is already known from there.
After at least thirty minutes of clarification and confusion, the three of them sat in silence, Beomgyu sitting there and staring at his best friends confused expression as he felt Taehyun rub his face onto his neck, he didn't really care though, if only the male wasn't freezing fucking cold.
"So let me get this all straight and clear before I lose my mind," Soobin started off, gently holding his forehead before looking up at the two.
"After the lights went out, you saw this blinking blue light, followed it, found Taehyun, took him home and tended to his wounds, found out he's a literal star —"
"A royal star! There's a difference!"
" — and after that, he's now calling you his savior and protector now you're stuck with a clingy royal star?"
"That's basically what I said so I don't know why you had to reword everything, but sure!" Beomgyu shrugged his shoulders.
"S-So... that means... the kingdom that we all thought was a myth... a story... a legend, is true...?" Soobin glanced over at Taehyun who seemed to notice that he was mainly asking him this.
"Of course it's true! Why do you think all the stars shine at night, we're the reasons!" Taehyun said proudly, but everything he said just sounded more and more confusing.
"Oh my gosh, Beomgyu, do you realize how amazing this is?!" Soobin stood up as a wide smile grew on his face. "If we tell the entire world this, who knows what could happen—"
"Are you thinking with your mind right now? I thought you were smarter than this." Beomgyu's tone suddenly turned cold as he stood up as well, staring at his best friend in disbelief. "We have a royal star under our roof, that needs protecting, and the first thing you want to do is to sell him to the world?"
Just as Soobin was about to speak up and defend himself, the male suddenly hesitated when he thought about the words he had just heard properly before weakly nodding his head.
"I'm sorry Beomgyu," Soobin said truthfully, his eyes dimming. "I just became so excited, but I think it's a great thing that you saved him."
Beomgyu nodded his head and glanced over at Taehyun who just stared up at him with glittery eyes, he couldn't help but have a weird feeling form in his heart whenever he looked over at the male, but after hearing Soobin suggest something so cruel, it was like he had to defend the pink haired beauty, as if he would die if he didn't.
But now he couldn't help but feel overwhelmed, just the thought of suddenly having this duty or mission to protect this... "royal star" who has a bunch of assassins after him made him sick to the stomach. He couldn't even take care of himself sometimes, so how in the world is he going to be able to take care of someone so important?
"Taehyun," Soobin called out for the star, causing him to look over. "I need to talk to Beomgyu alone, are you okay to stay out here by yourself?"
Taehyun stared at Soobin for a few seconds, as if he were processing what he had just said before nodding his head. "Will you return him to me in approximately five minutes and forty-two seconds?"
"Uh- sure...?"
"Then that's fine!"
Both Beomgyu and Soobin walked into the farthest room from the living room, which would be Soobin's own room. Once he made sure that Taehyun was certainly not following them, the two of them went into it as the elder closed the door, staring at Beomgyu who seemed nervous himself.
"Okay, first of all," Soobin spoke up, crossing his arms as he leaned against the door. "Never in my life would I have ever imagined that the cosmic kingdom above is actually real and that we have one of the princes in our home right now."
"Strange right...?" Beomgyu scratched the back of his head.
"But also, are you serious about this Beomgyu?" Soobin's voice dropped low, a sign that he was genuinely serious about what they were talking about. "I know your heart is pure, you want to help, but if... if what Taehyun is saying true, then that means he has out of space killers after him, doesn't that put your life at risk?"
"I..."
"Not to mention, taking care of someone? Protecting them? Do you know how strong you have to be for that...?" Soobin walked towards him and gently placed his hand on his shoulders.
"How are you going to protect someone from such bad things when you... couldn't protect yourself...?"
"That's the thing Soobin hyung," Beomgyu said shakily, his eyes widened when reality crashed down on him. "I'm scared- no, I'm terrified. I can't even properly take care of myself sometimes, who knows when the next depression breakdown might hit me again, I'm terrified I won't be able to care for him yet he..."
"He admires me like I'm the most bravest and beautiful person in the world, entire solar system."
Soobin stared at him for a few seconds, his eyes widening when he realized how Beomgyu felt, but it seemed like he didn't understand what he felt himself just yet, so he decided to stay quiet on that and allow him to figure it out.
"Okay," Soobin said softly, watching Beomgyu's eyes flicker up at him. "It's a harsh challenge and a huge secret, but I think... if we try our best, especially you, this will be fine. He said he's only staying until his kingdom is safe right? That might be soon!"
Beomgyu bit the bottom of his lip and nodded his head, his heart filled with guilt knowing that he might not be the best person for this — actually, scratch that... he IS the worst person for this type of job!
But now he knew he had Soobin to help him out, which made him happy.
"Alright," He breathed out, giving his best friend a smile. "Let's try our best."
"Yay!! Okay, let's head back into the living room before we see Taehyun trying to eat the TV or something."
As Soobin turned around, the male walked out of the room as Beomgyu followed slowly behind, he couldn't help but feel that emptiness overwhelm all of his senses, that pitiful pain that made him want to break down and sob overtook him once more, but he forced himself to keep going, it was his own problems that he had to take care of and not anyone else.
Can he... really do this...?
He's scared, Taehyun was so precious in his eyes, not only because he was from a literal kingdom made out of stardust.
But because of his curiosity and pure nature, he didn't want anything to taint him, yet he was terrified. Would Taehyun bring around him all of the time... taint his happiness?
"Beomgyu!"
The male looked up and saw Taehyun running towards him with a wide smile, his eyes twinkling brightly in the sunlight as he jumped forward and wrapped his arms around the male, entrapping him in a tight hug.
"Taehyun!" Beomgyu said cautiously when they almost fell over, wrapping his arms around the male to keep them balanced. "Don't do that, we could get hurt!"
"But if we get hurt, you can heal me, my savior!" Taehyun beamed brightly as he rubbed his cold cheek against Beomgyu's warm one, causing the male to flush a slight red.
Soobin stared at the two with a fond smile, looking over at Beomgyu's face, he examined the male closely. He noticed how the males dull eyes lit up just for a split second when Taehyun came around him, how the male gently took care of the star and tried his best to make sure they wouldn't get hurt.
Something deep down began to grow in Soobin, like a gut feeling, he started to feel like that this was a good opportunity for his best friend who had tried so hard to mask his sadness.
Maybe... just maybe... Beomgyu can find that spark within his heart again.
"Hey," Soobin called out for the two, causing them to look over towards him. "Come over here, we need to discuss something."
Beomgyu sighed softly and nodded his head, dragging Taehyun over towards the dining table and forcing him to sit down.
"Alright," Soobin looked over at Taehyun. "You said you needed Beomgyu to protect you right? You do know he's going to be gone because he has classes throughout the day."
Taehyun tilted his head. "I can't come with you guys?"
"You're not really registered into the university yet, you also look... let's say not human to be there, you might bring attention towards unwanted things."
Taehyun pouted slightly and furrowed his eyebrows before beaming brightly. "My appearance is no problem! I'll just make myself look like human!"
"You can do that?"
"It's something I learned back at home, to disguise myself!"
"That's kinda freaky... but cool!" Soobin beamed brightly, causing Taehyun to literally sparkle with joy.
Just before they could discuss more of the situation with Taehyun, Beomgyu's alarm suddenly went off which startled all of them, causing the males eyes to widen when he realized what time it was.
"Fuck! I forgot I had classes in the morning," Beomgyu stumbled out of his chair and grabbed his phone, noticing he had only ten minutes to properly get ready. "Taehyun, stay here with Soobin, I have to go."
"Leave...?" Taehyun mumbled softly before shaking his head, desperately grabbing onto Beomgyu's thigh to prevent him from moving. "You can't leave me! I'll be alone, bring me with you! Please don't let me Beomgyu!"
Beomgyu awkwardly stood there and held his hands up, unaware of exactly what to do, looking over at Soobin, he desperately signaled for help in which the blonde noticed right away.
"But Taehyun, Beomgyu needs to go do important things, we can hang out though!" Soobin beamed brightly, which was quickly shut down when the male shook his head and buried his face into Beomgyu's thigh.
"But- I-I will miss you, can't you bring me with you?"
"I can't," Beomgyu frowned, gently holding up Taehyun's face, noticing how the males eyes dimmed slightly, the sparkles barely there. "You're not enrolled into the university, if I bring you, I could get in trouble."
"Taehyun," Soobin called out for the male, a warm smile on his face as he looked over at him. "You trust Beomgyu right?" He asked him, receiving a nod. "Then we can hang out together, I will tell you all of his favorite things that will make him happier!"
Taehyun paused for a few seconds, processing what he had just said before looking up at Beomgyu and slowly loosening his grip on him before fully letting go, allowing the male to back away with a small sigh.
"W-Will you be back?"
"I'll be back by afternoon time," Beomgyu wasn't particularly lying, but he did have work right after his classes at the local library so it was guaranteed he wouldn't be back until late afternoon. "Just stay here with Soobin, he's very nice."
Taehyun glanced over at Soobin, although the male seemed nice, he felt more comfortable around Beomgyu. "Okay..."
Beomgyu stared down at the male, his hands twitching to do something, but he ignored that urge and just smiled before stepping away and walking to the bathroom to get ready as fast as he could, which left both Taehyun and Soobin alone at the table.
"So..." Soobin pursed his lips and smiled tightly, his dimples popping out. "You said you're from the legendary cosmic kingdom? Tell me about it! We heard stories about your kingdom, I never thought it would be true."
That little question seemed to spark Taehyun's interests, becoming excited about getting to talk about his hometown as the sparkles in his eyes formed again, briefly distracting him from whining about Beomgyu being gone for too long.
"My kingdom is the best!" Taehyun beamed brightly. "My family, we control the stars and constellations around us, we're also able to make stars... kinda like how you humans make babies!"
"Wait- what-"
"It was amazing in the kingdom, everyone was happy," Taehyun words began to go quiet as his happiness began to die down. "Until we suddenly got attacked by a neighboring galaxy, they wanted our power, us to die out, so... we had to flee... I-I was the only one who made it, my father made me go because I'm next in line for the throne, so now my family is being captured and held captive somewhere... my kingdom is fighting for their freedom while I-I'm hiding-"
Soobin's eyes widened when he saw small little glass like tears roll down Taehyun's face, but just before they could hit the table and dry up, instead was a small star that formed and floated around him, causing him to realize what the male meant by "they created the stars".
"The stars you control... are from your tears?"
"Oh yes! Although this is just my thing, I'm unsure what tears are, are tears the water works Beomgyu experienced earlier?"
"Water works...?" Soobin was a bit confused as to why Beomgyu had been crying earlier, but since the male didn't bring up anything, he didn't bother mentioning it. "Anyways, yes, you're feeling sad. Are you sad?"
"I-I think so, but it just feels a bit suffocating! But I'll be fine, tell me more about your human world, in my kingdom, we have books about Earth, but hearing it from an actual human seems more better than any books!"
As both Taehyun and Soobin discussed how different their worlds are, Beomgyu walked out of his room all dressed and ready to head to class, as he walked by the table, he couldn't help but notice multiple smaller stars floating around Taehyun, where the hell did that come from?
"I'll be leaving now," Beomgyu walked behind the pink headed male, gently cupping his cheeks and tilted his head back so he was looking up at him, slowly getting lost in his mesmerizing eyes. "You be nice for Soobin, okay? Please don't die, or burn the apartment down."
"I'll do anything you say!" Taehyun smiled brightly.
Beomgyu felt an odd tingly sensation form in his stomach, quickly taking a step back, he cleared his throat and nodded his head as he waved bye towards Soobin, walking towards the door before pausing.
"I'll bring back food," He slowly turned around and looked over at Taehyun. "What do... you usually eat?"
"Oh! I usually eat stardust rocks!" Taehyun smiled widely, which kinda freaked the other two out, wasn't that cannibalism? "But I can eat anything... I think... I never tried human food so bring anything!"
Beomgyu slowly nodded his head and looked over at Soobin, the two of them shrugging.
"I'll be back."
As he left the room, he couldn't help but feel how heavy and empty his heart became, something about leaving Taehyun behind brought upon a heavy sense of dread, but he didn't care, he honestly ignored it. What he needed to do was run to class, fast.
Once he fully left the apartment building, he couldn't help but feel so anxious.
He hoped Taehyun would be okay... he wouldn't admit this out loud... but...
...he really started to miss him already.
₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆
It had been exactly twelve hours, fifty four minutes, and twenty three seconds since Beomgyu had left Taehyun all alone at the apartment with Soobin.
The male had come down to the final thirty minutes of his shift at the local library near the university, he could honestly just up and leave now since nobody came in but he knew he would get in trouble if he tried.
But it was so boring! He did nothing but stand at the front and wait for people to check out their books or pay for ones that were overdue or head to the back and rearrange all the books that weren't in the proper section, or just read some story to a little kid who looked too young to be alone in such a big library, but whatever.
He couldn't help but wonder how Taehyun and Soobin were doing, he had told the little star he'd be back in the afternoon, he was most likely freaking out and throwing a tantrum at Soobin since he hadn't returned yet, just the thought of it made him snicker.
Throughout the day, Soobin had sent him some pictures of Taehyun curiously walking around the apartment, the blonde had even taken him to a small park near the apartment where Taehyun seemed "too bright" since the sun was out, it sorta made him miss the male.
It was so strange though, he had no idea what he was going to do from this point. He had thought about it and concluded that he was the worst person ever to depend on for safety, he could barely keep himself out of trouble without being overwhelmed, not to mention that he wasn't particularly in the best mental space to even protect someone.
But something about Taehyun made his heart warm, as if the male managed to slowly fill that emptiness inside of his heart, but he was terrified, he wasn't the right person.
Glancing over at the clock, the male sighed, finding time going by extremely slow as he had twenty more minutes of work left until he could go home, it took everything in him not to just up and leave.
With a small sigh, he slumped down into his chair and stared at his phone, scrolling through some social media and liking some posts Yeonjun had posted, snickering under his breath when he saw a picture of him and Soobin together under the stars.
They looked so cute, it made him a bit envious.
Maybe one day, he could have someone warm his heart like that once again.
"Beomgyu!"
The male looked up and saw his manager, Kwon Eunbi walk over towards him with a kind smile. "You're still here?"
"My shift doesn't end until ten minutes."
"Ten minutes? That's fine, you can leave right now if you'd like! It's not busy right now and we're closing soon."
Beomgyu's eyes sparkled when she had said that, immediately standing up, the male grabbed his belongings and thanked her before walking out right away, finally relieved that he could go home early, which meant seeing Taehyun sooner.
He just hoped the male didn't burn down anything.
Beomgyu sighed softly as the warm breeze of spring time embraced him, his eyes fluttering closed in delight before grabbing his headphones from his bag, putting them in before walking to where his apartment was, which wasn't far, it was at least fifteen minutes away from the library.
As he walked down the street, the male suddenly paused when he saw a late night candy store open, all of his thoughts shifting towards Taehyun, the little star might be hungry... he doesn't know what stars really eat besides other stars, so he decided to go inside of it to find something.
When he entered the candy store, he couldn't help but cringe when the aroma of way too sugary things invaded his senses, but he didn't care. He made a beeline towards the rock candy section and stood there for a few minutes, debating what flavors Taehyun would like.
He ended up buying every flavor.
As he left the candy store, he couldn't help but feel bad, he needed to talk to Taehyun and know what to get him so he could properly eat food, he doesn't even know if the male had ever drank water either!
Shaking his head, the male held the bag close to him as he walked home, finding peace within the quiet night as the sound of his music echoed through his ear, and in just a few minutes which felt like seconds, he found himself at home.
Walking into the lobby, the male greeted the receptionist and walked over to an elevator, waiting for a few seconds before it opened, allowing an old couple to walk out as he walked right in once they were gone.
The male leaned against the wall and pressed the button where his floor was, feeling the elevator ascend as he felt himself relax little by little, the exhaustion of having to talk to way too many people today burnt him out.
After a few minutes, the elevator door opened which allowed him to immediately walk to where his home was, unlocking the door right away.
"Hyung!" He called out for Soobin right away, the aroma of something savory hit him. "I'm back!—"
"BEOMGYU HYUNG!"
Beomgyu's eyes widened as not even a second later he felt two arms wrap around him tightly, stumbling back as Taehyun literally flung himself towards the male and squealed happily.
"T-Taehyun!—"
"You're back! You're back you're back you're back!" Taehyun said happily, immediately rubbing his face against Beomgyu's cheek like some sort of lonely cat. "It was so boring and lonely without you, please never leave again!"
Beomgyu sat up slightly as Taehyun was on his knees in front of him, his arms wrapped around his chest tightly as he pushed himself against Beomgyu as hard as he could, causing the male to wheeze out a breath.
"Beomgyu, you're back!" Soobin appeared from the hallway, smiling widely when he saw Taehyun already cuddled up against him. "He would not stop complaining about you! Talk about attachment issues!"
"Beomgyu is my protector, my savior! You're just... Soobin." Taehyun said, glancing over at the male whose jaw dropped at what he said.
Beomgyu took a few seconds to process everything until he remembered that Taehyun had screamed 'Beomgyu hyung' the minute he walked in, something about the way the male said his name with the honorific made his stomach flutter up.
"You called me hyung..."
"Mhm!" Taehyun smiled widely. "Soobin and I talked about age, I told him I'm 122 years old, but uhm... I guess I'm 22 now since I'm disguising myself as a human, so since you're older than me, Soobin told me to refer to you as 'hyung'! Do you not like it?"
"A-Ahh," Beomgyu was a bit startled when Taehyun had casually dropped his age, it made him a concerned but since time works differently in space, he didn't seem to mind. "It's okay, it's respectful, thank you."
"Anything to please you!"
After a few minutes of Beomgyu trying to peel Taehyun off of him, the three of them stood around the dining table as Beomgyu placed down the rock candies he had gotten for the star.
"I know you said you eat stars at home," Beomgyu said as he held up a strawberry flavor one, Taehyun's eyes sparkling in confusion as to what it was. "We don't have stars, but I got you rock candy, it's very sweet. Maybe it'll taste like the ones at your kingdom since... uhm... stars are... rocks?"
"Stars are exploding balls of gas made of hydrogen and helium where the hell did you—"
"It's okay! It's also stardust rocks, not stars!"
Taehyun happily grabbed the candy from Beomgyu and took a bite out of it, his eyes immediately widening when that sweet sugary flavor spread all over his mouth, practically making him glow even more.
"Do you... like it?"
"I love it! It tastes just like the stardust rocks at home!" Taehyun beamed brightly, which made both Beomgyu and Soobin relieved they found one thing to feed the star.
"You know," Beomgyu spoke softly, his heart nearly melting at the sight of Taehyun eating two rock candies at the same time. "Both Soobin and I will have to be gone, you'll have to be alone."
"Oh," Taehyun froze, staring at the male which made Beomgyu feel a bit bad. "That's okay..."
"...I already applied and got accepted into your university! So we can be together forever!"
Beomgyu's jaw dropped as Soobin gasped loudly, the both of them staring at Taehyun in absolute shock at what he had just said before looking at one another, Soobin who seemed more shock that this happened.
"When did you do that?!"
"After Soobin taught me how to use a computer to play this weird game called 'League of Legends' I found a way to apply to your university, I start this Friday!" Taehyun explained happily, unaware of how he just sent the other two into pure fucking shock.
"Seriously?!" Beomgyu turned to look at Soobin who had a guilty pout on his face. "You taught him how to play League of Legends instead of something else?"
"Hey, what if I wanted to play with someone but you're not here? Be considerate!"
As the two of them were bickering, Taehyun glanced over at the two and smiled, his eyes lingering on Beomgyu. He couldn't help but feel so comfortable and attracted towards the male, all of his thoughts were only him, oh gosh! If this is what admiration is then it's certainly overwhelming.
The star looked away and glanced towards the window, noticing how the bright big sun went away, nighttime finally embracing the skies which made his stomach hurt, even though he enjoyed being around these humans, he found it a bit difficult.
He missed his family, he just hoped his kingdom would be safe.
After a few more minutes of bickering, the tension between both Soobin and Beomgyu calmed down, allowing all of them to sit down on the couch and peacefully sit there in silence.
It wasn't until Soobin had gotten up from the couch and said he was going to bed, the other two wishing him goodnight as he walked away into his room, leaving them both alone.
Beomgyu sighed softly as he felt Taehyun's head leaning against his shoulder, the two of them sitting there in silence comfortably, which was strange... the male has never felt so comfortable around a stranger before, could it be that his body was just getting use to having Taehyun cling onto him 24/7?
The male looked down and noticed that Taehyun was staring out the window, his eyes squinting as if he were trying to get a better view of the sky above.
"Do you... want to go look at the sky?" Beomgyu asked softly, causing the male to glance up at him, immediately melting when he saw those pretty eyes.
"W-We can do that? We can go outside?" Taehyun's eyes sparkled more as literal tiny white stars floated around them, causing Beomgyu to nearly burst in laughter.
"Yes, we can go to the rooftop, but please don't fall off of it."
"I won't!"
So it was settled, after a few minutes of getting ready and putting a sweater on Taehyun since the wind had picked up a bit, the two of them left the apartment hand in hand, their fingers intertwined with one another as Beomgyu lead the male out to the stairs where they would have to climb up to go to the rooftop.
The rooftop was open, always open, but it was recommended to go during the day time more so people could be safe, but right now didn't matter. In Beomgyu's mind, satisfying the star behind him was the most important thing to him.
After a few minutes, the two of them arrived to the rooftop, Taehyun's mouth dropping in shock as a loud gasp left his lips when he got to see the stars properly.
"Be careful!" Beomgyu grabbed onto the male who seemed like he was eagerly about to run around, wrapping his arm around his waist to keep him still. "You need to stick by me, you might get hurt."
Taehyun glanced over at him, his pretty eyes practically sparking and illuminating perfectly underneath the veil of the moonlight, it made strange things form inside of Beomgyu's stomach.
But he decided to ignore it.
After a bit of suggestions, the two of them placed their sweaters down and laid down on their backs, both looking up at the sky which was dazzled with beautiful dancing stars and that same pink and blue aurora he had seen yesterday which looked even more beautiful.
The two of them laid there in silence, Taehyun's eyes darting around the whole skyline, as if he were trying to imprint the scenery into his mind forever.
As he was distracted, Beomgyu took the chance to slowly look over at the male, his eyes softening when he realized how relaxing it was to be around him.
Something about Taehyun was... comforting, he was weird, super weird, Beomgyu couldn't even process and believe that he was an actual royal star from a kingdom in outer space, but that's what made it better. Someone so different... so... fascinating, it made his heart swirl with unknown emotions.
Whenever he was alone or with others, he would always feel so empty inside, but he always kept a mask up to keep others happy. However, he eventually found himself crashing down due to the overwhelming pain that took him by so easily, but with Taehyun... he couldn't help but feel relaxed, as if it was okay to let his mask fall and be himself.
The male was beautiful, Beomgyu would admit that, such beauty that's so supernatural... he has seen very attractive people in his entire life but something about Taehyun's beauty could never compare to those he found attractive back then.
It was so strange how the male that had suddenly crash landed into his life somehow made his heart feel so full in just a short period of time.
"Beomgyu hyung," Taehyun spoke up softly, the first words he had spoken ever since they arrived at the rooftop five minutes ago. "Can I ask you a question?"
"Oh, sure, what's up?"
Taehyun turned his head and faced Beomgyu before turning his whole body, now lying on his side as he properly faced the elder.
"Today, when I hung out with Soobin, he had told me something,"
"What did he tell you?"
"That the reason why your eyes are so empty is because you're sad, you're hurt."
Beomgyu's eyes widened when he had said that, something inside of his heart dropped when one, Soobin exposed him for something, and two, Taehyun noticed something wrong about him already.
"I notice how your smile falters whenever you're around us, how your eyes dull and your body language is weak," Taehyun said, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Why are you hurting, Beomie...?"
Beomgyu stared at the male absolutely speechless, his lips trembling as he tried to think of an excuse or anything to say, he never expected to have this type of conversation so soon with Taehyun, especially after a day they met.
But... something in him knew it was better to be honest than to be silent, something just radiated comfort and trust within the star in front of him.
"I lost something precious to me," Beomgyu spoke softly, his breath shaky as he didn't know what to do in such a weak moment. "I hurt me for eternity, now I can't ever seem to find proper closure."
"You lost something...? Like how I-I lost my kingdom...? My family?" Taehyun asked him, causing Beomgyu's heart to clench.
It pained him so much to talk about his mother, even one mention about her was enough to make his world crumble, but just before he backed out on everything and ran away, he suddenly felt Taehyun intertwine their hands. Even though he was freezing to the touch, Beomgyu had never ever felt such warmth from someone.
It was enough to make him keep going.
"Somewhat like that," Beomgyu turned onto his side and faced the star properly. "I lost... m-my mother, five years ago, it hurt me a lot... now I can't ever seem to find pure happiness."
Taehyun's eyes widened as he listened to every word the elder said, the way his voice became weak and his words were slightly broken, as if it were taking everything in him not to burst out in tears and stay silent. But... for some reason... his stomach and heart felt so heavy, seeing Beomgyu like this... made him feel... upset! An emotion he hasn't really felt in a while, but when he saw the elders eyes so... so... empty with pain.. it made him sick.
"It's okay..." Taehyun mumbled softly, unsure of what to exactly say, on his kingdom sadness was never a thing they experienced, only anger and fear and happiness! "I-It's okay to hurt."
"After being sent here and away from my family... I-I might relate to what you feel, I'm unsure how it really feels to lose someone so important but I think it's similar, right?" Taehyun asked him, his grip on Beomgyu's hand tightening.
"But... I... If you're sad, you shouldn't force yourself to be... to... to mask... your emotions..." Taehyun pulled Beomgyu closer, his body pressed up against the elders as he stared into his sad eyes. "Please don't be sad anymore... If you're in pain, I should heal you right? Like you've healed me."
"Let's be the ones who heal each other, hyung."
Beomgyu's breath hitched when he saw Taehyun come closer, in fear of being kissed once again, the male closed his eyes tightly and braced for impact.
... but nothing came...
He didn't feel any soft lips on his, instead, he felt Taehyun gently rest his forehead onto his forehead, causing him to flutter his eyes open as the two of them stared into one another's eyes, their hands intertwining tightly.
It was like they were in their own supernatural world, so many emotions circulated around them it felt so overwhelming. A lonely boy who had lost his light and a lost boy who had to hide from his own light, leaving them both completely in the dark.
...but maybe... together... they felt that soft warmth come back, a glimmer of hope that there may be a chance to restore the light they once lost.
"I may be from a kingdom far away and unaware of how exactly humans function," Taehyun whispered underneath his breath, not breaking eye contact once. "But I know that it's... it's hard to be sad all of the time, so please, let me be there to heal you like you've healed me."
Beomgyu couldn't help but be so overwhelmed, it's been so long since he has had proper comfort. Someone from so far away had easily managed to comfort him so well, better than he had tried comforting himself for the past five years, it was so fucking difficult for him to even properly manage without finding himself drowning in guilt.
But now... he started to feel lighter, as if his pain was finally setting back, no longer overwhelming him.
As the two of them stared into each others eyes, only comfortable silence surrounded them as their intertwined hands tightened around one another, Beomgyu couldn't help but suddenly feel so... so... protective over the star that found his way home to him.
"Thank you," Beomgyu breathed out, "Taehyun."
Taehyun smiled widely and nodded his head, removing his forehead from his and letting go of his hand. Instead, he immediately wrapped his arms around the elder and stuffed his face into Beomgyu's chest, inhaling the elders scent that made him feel so comfortable.
That little action was enough to make Beomgyu unconsciously wrap his arms around Taehyun, gently placing his hand on the back of the males head, finding comfort by how soft his hair was.
"Anything for you, hyung! You saved me, healed me, so let me heal you!"
In that moment, that loneliness that had Beomgyu chained down and suffocated him for so long slowly chipped away little by little.
The longer he held the star in his arms, the more that feeling went away, replacing with the most precious feeling ever, only one thought in his head as his whole perspective switched from then on.
If Taehyun was true to his words, that he would heal him the best he could...
... then Beomgyu will try his best to protect the star that entered his life.
₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆
In just a blink of an eye, Friday came around, which meant it was the first day of Taehyun attending Star Seekers University which he had somehow got accepted into.
To Beomgyu, he couldn't help but be slightly anxious about the entire thing.
"You said you can disguise yourself as a human, right?" Beomgyu asked him once again, sitting on his bed as he watched Taehyun fix his hair in the mirror. "What if it doesn't work?"
"Hyung," Taehyun smiled warmly and turned his head. "Just trust me."
With a snap of his finger, Astra, the little blue star that followed Taehyun around everywhere, had came out and floated above the male and started spinning in circles, releasing some sort of stardust that covered Taehyun completely.
In that moment, Taehyun's precious pink hair began to fade to a dark shade of brown, his gorgeous mesmerizing colorful eyes fading to dark brown, his pale sparkly skin went from ghostly pale to nearly a honey tan like color, bringing him to appear more alive and not from outer space.
Beomgyu wouldn't admit out loud, but he preferred Taehyun's star like features over his human disguise.
"Here," Beomgyu stood up and walked over to his closet, grabbing an extra bag and walked back over to Taehyun. "Keep this, it's a backpack, most students wear this."
Taehyun smiled widely and took the backpack into his hands, turning so he was facing the mirror as Beomgyu took the opportunity to wrap his arms around the star and gently place his chin on the males shoulder, the two of them staring at one another in the mirror as comfortable tension surrounded them.
Beomgyu has been feeling all sorts of strange emotions towards the star, some emotions that he pushed so far back into his mind, he felt sick. There was a gut feeling that he specifically knew what type of emotion overtook his sense when he was around Taehyun, but he denied it, he didn't want to be true.
But when the moments came where he would have his arms wrapped around the star, holding him close as he listened to the sound of his soft breathing and low heartbeat, he knew that every single moment was enough to make his heart flutter up.
It had only been three days since he had taken the star under his care, but it honestly felt like eternity.
A part of him wishes that Taehyun would never leave, but he knew deep down, once the males kingdom is safe, he would have to go.
"What are your classes for today, do you know?"
"I...uh..." Taehyun paused, his eyes widening as he shuffled out of Beomgyu's hold and walked over towards the elders desk where his schedule was. "I have advanced astronomy, astrobiology, astrophysics, and dance!"
Beomgyu was a bit concerned as to how and why Taehyun nearly chose all of the same classes he had, but at least the two of them were in the same class for majority of the day, it made his life easier to watch over the male.
However, dance was the one class that he was not enrolled in, but he does know Yeonjun is in it!
"I won't be in your dance class," Beomgyu said, watching Taehyun's jaw drop in fear. "But I have a friend, he's very nice... really stupid... but nice! I can ask him to spend time with you."
"B-But," Taehyun's lips trembled as he threw his schedule down and ran towards the elder. "I don't want to be alone, what if I'm hurt? He won't protect or heal me like you do!"
Guilt started to wash Beomgyu down hard, those pretty eyes that always had him weak in his knees did their little persuasion thing perfectly, but he had to be strong since he doesn't want to get in trouble for missing a class.
"You trust me right?" Beomgyu asked him softly, tucking a few strands behind Taehyun's ear, just the single faint touch of his fingers was enough to have the stars eyes flutter closed in delight. "I promise after your class ends, I'll get you right away, but you want to learn more about humans don't you? Befriend my friend, Yeonjun, he's sweet."
Taehyun wanted to disagree on that, he didn't want anyone else but Beomgyu around him, but being persuaded by the males soothing voice and the faint touch made him weak to his stomach, so unconsciously, he agreed.
After at least thirty minutes of making sure they were fully ready for the day, the two of them met with Soobin outside of the apartment and went into Beomgyu's car, the male driving them there since that's what he usually does.
It made him a bit nervous, he knew Taehyun would be around him, but why did he feel so nervous that something strange may happen? Maybe it's because for the past three days he had only kept the star around him and Soobin, so he wasn't used to having him around others.
He shouldn't worry though, Taehyun would stay with him.
"You've got to meet Huening Kai and Yeonjun," Soobin smiled warmly, looking at Taehyun in the rear view mirror as the star stared out the window in absolute awe. "They're super nice! Huening Kai is also your age — uh... close to your human age! So you both would be good friends."
"It's been so long since i've been around others," Taehyun sighed dreamily, staring out the window as he admired everything about Earth and its humans. "At home, my cosmos kingdom, I've always spent my days alone in the palace, never had time for friends."
"Really? A prince like you i'd expect you to have a bunch of stars as your friend."
"Nope, always been inside the palace, only go out to tend to duties but I have to keep up an act, you know?" Taehyun said, yet faintly in his tone was the emotion of sadness.
Both Beomgyu and Soobin glanced towards one another, they both heard the sadness in the stars voice, it just made them wonder how exactly was life like in the kingdom he was from.
But it seems like talking about life in the kingdom was a sensitive topic for the star, so nobody brought it up.
After around fifteen-ish minutes, the three of them finally arrived at the university, Taehyun practically sparkling and glowing from how excited he was to finally experience human school life instead of reading ancient books from his palace library.
"Okay- Taehyun!" Beomgyu called out for the male and grabbed onto his backpack, pulling him back so he wouldn't run off and get lost. "You have to wait for me! We'll walk to our classes together."
"Sorry, hyung!" Taehyun smiled oh so adorably that Beomgyu couldn't stay mad at him.
Beomgyu sighed tiredly and shook his head, glancing over at Soobin, the male just sheepishly shrugged and went off to his class. It nearly made Beomgyu sob since he had forgotten the male took different classes every other day, so that meant he was stuck with the star who went—
Beomgyu turned around, his eyes widening when he didn't see him there. "Taehyun?"
Okay.
don't panic.
It's ok.
"Taehyun?!" Beomgyu called out in a panicked tone, immediately rushing inside of the building where he knew the male went inside. "I told you to wait for me!"
The male entered the building and anxiously breathed out, his eyes flickering around the slightly crowded hallway as he made his way through it, trying not to draw attention to himself as he searched anxiously for the star who blended in with the crowd.
"H-hey! Heeseung!" Beomgyu called out for the male with slightly dark purple hair, a classmate of his who took astrophysics with him. "Have you seen a new student anywhere? He has wide eyes, pink- I-I mean brown hair, super uhm- cute?"
"Oh! Beomgyu," Heeseung smiled seeing a good classmate/kinda friend. "I think I do know who you're talking about, was he wearing a light pink sweater?"
"Yes!"
"Ah! I actually did!" Heeseung smiled widely. "He asked me for directions of the building, I guess he saw the map outside, he asked which floor the planetarium was on."
"The planetarium...?" Beomgyu furrowed his eyebrows, the planetarium wasn't open unless another class was visiting it, which definitely meant Taehyun had snuck into it with some random class. "Ah, shit, okay, thank you."
"No problem! By the way, can you send me the answers for the astrobiology homework? I forgot about it." Heeseung asked as he was a little bit embarrassed.
"Yeah, no problem," Beomgyu doesn't usually agree to giving out answers so easily unless he was being paid, but since Heeseung had helped him, he decided to let him off the hook. "Uhm... text me after school I guess."
"Thanks Beomgyu!"
The male smiled anxiously and immediately left, walking down the hallway as he thought out the many outcomes that could happen if Taehyun was caught in another class and late on the first day, just how did he slip away from his sight so easily?!
As the male avoided crowds of people and those who don't know how to walk in the fucking hallways correctly, he climbed up nearly three flights of stairs in a hurry as he arrived at the top floor where the planetarium was, his heart racing as he hoped and prayed Taehyun was here.
Thankfully, the class that booked the planetarium doesn't arrive until 10:35 which was about fifteen minutes away, he needed to get Taehyun quick so they both wouldn't be late for class.
As he walked over towards the door, the male noticed how it was easily unlocked, causing him to walk inside as he saw a figure standing in the middle of the room, staring up at the dome above which showcased a bunch of constellations and nebulas.
"Taehyun." Beomgyu breathed out, relieve that he had found his star. "You need to let me know when you're going somewhere!"
After receiving nothing but silence for a few seconds, the male walked towards him again and gently placed his hand on his shoulder, startling the star as he swiftly turned around and stared up at him with sparkly eyes.
"Are you?—"
Beomgyu was suddenly cut off when Taehyun grabbed onto his face and pressed his own lips against his, causing his eyes to widen as he processed what was happening.
The male wanted to pull away, but his body seemed to say otherwise. Instead, he melted into the stars touch and allowed him to kiss him, yet he didn't kiss back, his body wouldn't allow him to.
After a few seconds which felt like minutes of Taehyun just pressing his lips against Beomgyu's, the star eventually pulled away and looked up at him, his eyes sparkling underneath the faint glow of the colors above.
"I'm sorry," Taehyun mumbled softly, his voice trembling. "I didn't mean to run, I just... I...I saw that there was a picture of this room showing the stars and nebulas and I wanted to see it."
"Are you okay?" Beomgyu grabbed onto the males wrists and pulled him closer, practically pressing Taehyun's face onto his collarbone. "It's okay, but why did you uhm... kiss me... and run off?"
"There's a limited amount of time I have to understand and process any language; three days. So by the time I got here my head blanked out."
Beomgyu nodded his head and took his hold off of Taehyun's wrist, standing there empty headed as his heart began to throb against his chest, a feeling that he didn't like at all.
The minute he noticed he had lost Taehyun, unexplainable fear had coursed throughout his entire body, nearly matching the exact panic and pain he felt when he... he... had lost... his mother.
It was that type of fear he would forever hate, be disgusted with. He couldn't handle experiencing that fear and he had always hoped it would never come back, but he was wrong.
When he had lost Taehyun, he wanted nothing more than to throw all of his original ideas aside and just find the male, even if it took him an entire day to find him he knew he wouldn't give up no matter what.
But when he found his star again, that heavy sense of relief he had never experienced felt so satisfying, so comforting. When he saw Taehyun inside of this room safe and unharmed, it never made him more relaxed.
His heart, throbbing against his chest, broken to an extent that he felt like would never be fixed, felt lighter... nearly full once again.
Beomgyu stood there with a trembling breath, slowly wrapping his arms around his star and pulled him close, burying his face onto the crook of Taehyun's neck as he squeezed his eyes shut.
He was terrified to lose the star that crash landed into his life.
Maybe the role of protecting this innocent star was really taking over him, but when he thought about what could've happened if he didn't find Taehyun on time, it sent an unforgiving pain of thoughts throughout his mind.
The two of them stood there for a few seconds, Beomgyu's eyes glancing up towards the dome where all of the nebulas shined brightly, before looking back down at Taehyun.
"Do you..." Beomgyu spoke up, pulling away from the hug. "Do you miss your home? Is that why you came here?"
"It would be a lie if I said I didn't miss it." Taehyun said, a small chuckle under his breath as he gazed up at the dome above. "It's just weird, adjusting to Earth and its strange requirements, being human when that's something I'm not... staying here... unaware when it's safe to go home."
"It feels weird, in my heart, no matter how much I smile, it feels e-empty...?"
Beomgyu understood that feeling all too well, he knew exactly what Taehyun meant.
Although their issues weren't exactly similar enough to grasp the full extent of their individual pains, he understood that it was enough to know what it felt like.
No matter how hard he tried to mask his pain, burdened his days with endless activities, surrounded himself with people who warmed his heart up so much, he could never escape the endless loneliness that stabbed into his hard and made a permanent scar there.
it was sickening.
Ever since he had lost his mother, pure genuine happiness was a memory he had long forgotten the feeling of, he doesn't remember when he had genuinely felt his heart so full and satisfied... tingling with ecstasy as memories of the special event replayed throughout his mind everyday.
He had experienced so many memories where he would find himself happy and full of joy, but the minute he was alone, down came crashing that loneliness and pain that shackled him down, forbidding him to leave.
So when he looked down at Taehyun who barely had his sparkle, something inside of his heart, deep down, broke loose.
It was like a newfound feeling washed over him, an emotion he was certainly unfamiliar with.
A foreign feeling whenever he saw the star, held him in his arms, that always formed.
It was like in that moment, a sense of sincerity and determination had claimed him, a voice deep in the back of his mind told him he had only one goal to accomplish throughout his miserable life: protect Taehyun.
Maybe it was because he was scared, scared that the star would begin to experience the horrid pain and suffering that he had to wander through alone, no hands guiding him throughout the endless tunnel of darkness.
Even when there was help, he had rejected it, suffocating himself more.
But now, standing in front of the star, he knew he couldn't let Taehyun experience the unforgiving sadness and suffrage that he went through.
"You'll be home soon, my star." Beomgyu said softly, cupping Taehyun's cheeks as he held him close, captivated by the beauty of the males eyes. "You'll be home soon."
Taehyun glanced up at him as a small smile formed on his face, tiny little stars floating around them which had suddenly came out of no where, he had forgotten that the male in front of him was a royal star and apparently, according to Taehyun himself, royal stars are able to create stars of their own.
Just before they could stay there any longer, Beomgyu heard the faint sounds of voices coming down the hallway, which meant that their time in the planetarium was up.
"Alright, my star," Beomgyu said, the little nickname slipping through, causing Taehyun to flush a bit red — to which Beomgyu didn't notice. "We have to go to class now, shall we go?"
Taehyun nodded his head and glanced down at Beomgyu's hands, his own hands twitching slightly before intertwining his with the elders, watching how they fit perfectly against one another.
Something was fluttering inside of Taehyun's stomach, a strange feeling he had never felt at home before, surrounded by so many different stars of their own he would've thought he would experience this type of strange sensation before.
But he hasn't.
It was weird, the strange fluttery sensations he felt around Beomgyu were really weird!
He remembers the moment he had crash landed onto Earth, his crystal rock shattering to piece as he fell out of it and rolled onto the harsh patch of grass, his mind fuzzy and throbbing with pain as he laid there, his body aching and numb from the pain and loss of adrenaline.
It hurt, his entire body hurt.
He had to use the last bit of his consciousness and powers to form Astra, the last thing he managed to bring with him onto the planet before escaping home.
The moment Astra began to float away to find help, signaling someone or something, he had gradually lost consciousness and faded to a world full of pitch black.
He thought he would die on that planet, his wounds far too painful to heal quickly in weak state.
until he found him.
The minute he woke up on Beomgyu's bed, greeted by the shining light of the sun and the warm embrace of being alive to see the next day, he had never felt more grateful in his life.
In such a foreign world, he had found his hope: Beomgyu.
Now he felt so devoted, the minute he left the room and found the male on the couch sound asleep, it was like a tornado of admiration and gratitude washed over him, weakly falling onto his knees as he just stared at the humans features.
It was his first time seeing such human this close before.
Though the people on his planet had looked similar to such humans, there was something about Beomgyu's appearance that seemed otherworldly, it made him wonder at first if the male was truly a human.
From that moment and onwards, he felt an undying devotion and attachment towards Beomgyu, not purely because the male had saved his life and now will be the savior and protector of his life.
But because of the strange attraction towards him, as if being around Beomgyu... or with... seemed right.
"Taehyun?"
When he heard the brunette call out for him, Taehyun came back to Earth and got his head out of the stars, smiling up at Beomgyu who brought an incredible blanket of warmth around him.
"Let's get going."
As their fingers intertwined with one another, the two of them carefully walked out of the planetarium without bringing much attention towards them, Beomgyu guiding the star away from the crowd and towards the other exit which could lead them down to the stairs below where their first class was.
In that moment, Taehyun glanced over at the crowd, as if time had froze itself as he made eye contact with a pair of eyes that immediately crashed down fear onto him.
A heavy anxious sensation began to grow in him, that same sensation he felt when he was running to escape his palace, those pure black eyes void of any emotions, a sinister aura surrounding it.
Immediately looking away, the male closed his eyes tightly and reassured to himself that it was just his mind testing him. When he glanced back, it was gone.
Maybe it really was his mind playing with him.
"My star, are you okay?"
Taehyun glanced over at Beomgyu, softly biting on the bottom of his lip, he smiled tightly and nodded his head. "I'm perfectly fine, let's go to class!"
Beomgyu wasn't so convinced, but he decided not to mention it again, for some reason the star seemed so on the edge, but that's something he would question for later.
The male honestly felt a bit terrified, the thought of being around him for four hours was fine, he could have his eye on him... but the last hour where the two of them have to part to different buildings brought unexplainable sickness to his stomach.
He just hoped that this first day of 'human' school for Taehyun would be fine.
₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆
Surprisingly, the first three classes Beomgyu had with Taehyun went well! The star was fascinated that humans knew so much about the solar system and the galaxies above, although... there was one incident where Taehyun nearly started an argument with one of the professors after, in his words, taught about the constellations wrong.
Beomgyu had never seen the star so upset, it was pretty amusing.
So now came the last hour of the day where, unsure if Taehyun felt the same, Beomgyu dreaded.
The brunette decided that he would walk Taehyun to the music building where the dance studio was, he wasn't very comfortable with allowing the male to walk alone campus, and it benefited him more since he didn't have any other classes after astrophysics.
"Okay, remember what I told you," Beomgyu began to recite the same exact sentences he's been saying for the past five minutes, but in different words. "Find Yeonjun, he should have bright orange hair, also! Make sure you stay around him only, say you're a friend of Beomgyu—"
"Hyung," Taehyun interrupted him, stopping in front of the entrance of the building that he hadn't realized they arrived to. "I understand, you don't have to worry!"
"I know but..."
"You said Yeonjun is a good person?" Taehyun asked, tilting his head. Beomgyu nodded hesitantly, anxiety creeping onto him. "Then I'll trust you! A friend of Beomgyu's is a friend of mine! Is he kind like Soobin?"
"He's very kind, a bit loud, but he's nice."
Taehyun smiled widely and nodded his head, excitement itching in his bones. "Okay! I'll be fine! I will wait for you right here after class ends!"
Beomgyu was nervous, extremely nervous. He didn't want to leave Taehyun alone, but he knew that he stay either since the free hour he has is basically an hour where he studies classes with Soobin.
"Okay, promise me you'll be okay."
"I promise."
Beomgyu took one step back and glanced at the male one more time before letting go of his restraints, stepping forward again as he swept Taehyun into a tight hug, keeping the male close as he felt the other wrap his own arms around him.
It was only for an hour and a half, so why did it feel like eternity?
As Taehyun pulled away from the hug, the star smiled as gently leaned forward, pressing a short soft kiss onto Beomgyu's lips.
Beomgyu wasn't sure if it was because he needed to gain the knowledge of understanding his language or for something else, it left him stuck.
"I'll see you later hyung!"
Taehyun stepped back and smiled widely before walking into the building, leaving behind a pouty Beomgyu who already missed his presence.
It was finally time for Taehyun to experience a class alone! Although... he did miss Beomgyu... but he was excited to see all the fun new people! He had danced before in Estella, but he was a bit nervous about how humans taught dance, all he knew was how to ballroom dance while floating.
He lowkey misses Beomgyu a lot.
After following strict directions on where the dance rooms were, which were on the second floor, the male entered 'dance room 313' and was met with around eleven students inside of it, which was way less students than the classrooms he was in earlier.
"Hey! You must be Taehyun, right?" A guy with bright orange hair approached him, a fox like grin on his face which made the star nearly panic.
He was about to run out the classroom in fear before remembering what Beomgyu had told him, look for the guy with bright orange hair.
Then... this must be Yeonjun!
"Beomgyu had texted me about you, told me to look out for his little friend with cute boba eyes, I assume that's you?"
Taehyun just nodded hesitantly, he should be okay around Yeonjun, yet why was he so nervous? Could it be that since he had spent majority of his time on Earth around Soobin and Beomgyu, that other humans slightly terrify him? Maybe...
"I-I..." Taehyun stuttered out, but when he saw a kind reassuring smile on Yeonjun's lips, that's when he knew he could maybe trust him. "I am, I'm Taehyun, you're Yeonjun?"
"I am! It's nice to meet you, say, how did you meet Beomgyu?"
"Uh..." Taehyun paused, he remembers vividly that Beomgyu told him not to tell anyone about how he's not from Earth and that he found him in the middle of a forest. "We... uh..."
Just on time, the savior to Taehyun's trouble, the dance professor had walked into the room and announced that everyone get ready and in position to learn the first choreography and go over some techniques that they could use to improve their dance skills.
With a soft sigh of relief, Taehyun smiled apologetically towards Yeonjun who didn't mind at all that they were interrupted.
"Let's talk more after break."
The two of them seemed to agree to that, getting in position as they lined up to stretch, but just before they could start anything, the door swung open revealing a person who was way late to class.
"Aoi Kageno, you're late." The dance professor said, quite disappointed that one of the new transfer students were late.
"Sorry," Taehyun's eyes widened when he heard how thick the males accent was. "Won't happen again."
As the person named Kageno apologized and took his position near some students, Taehyun couldn't help but stare at the male in the mirror.
Kageno was handsome, but he wasn't as handsome as Beomgyu. The male had black hair with white streaks in the black, nearly making him look like some sort of skunk. His features were sharp, nearly matching Yeonjun's fox like features but make it more cat like.
It wasn't until the male had glanced over at Taehyun in the mirror, his eyes widening as he saw how pitch black the males eyes were.
Something strange washed through Taehyun, from that moment, he knew there wasn't something right with that Kageno person, his aura... it screamed... malicious intent.
The male didn't want to believe it at first, but the moment he saw a murderous smirk form on Kageno lips, he knew what the male was right away.
A black star.
"Taehyun? Are you okay?"
Taehyun looked over towards Yeonjun who stared at him worriedly, the male gulped and glanced back over at Kageno who looked away from the two, relieving him from the terrified emotion that washed over him.
"U-Uhm, yeah, I'm okay." Taehyun bit the bottom of his lip, as long as he stays far away from Kageno, he'll be okay.
"Alright, professor says we have to partner up, is that okay?"
Taehyun nodded his head and walked over towards a corner to stretch and dance with Yeonjun, he couldn't help but feel deathly eyes piercing in his back, he knew that the other was staring at him.
It's okay.
Stay away from him for just two hours and he's okay.
Right as class ends, he can just run out the building and into Beomgyu's arms, he'll protect him.
So why... did he feel... so scared...?
An hour had passed by, which meant that the class had a break for ten minutes. Taehyun was honestly counting down the minutes until he saw Beomgyu again, he really did miss the male.
"You're a really good dancer, Taehyun." Yeonjun walked by and smiled, sitting down next to the star as the two of them tried to catch their breath after learning a new dance choreograph.
"Thank you, Yeonjun hyung." Taehyun smiled softly, it felt a bit weird calling someone other than Beomgyu 'hyung', but after being scolded for a few minutes by Yeonjun for not using the honorific, it was basically engraved into his head to use it. "You're really good yourself, the best i've seen!"
"You flatter me too much, if I wasn't so hopelessly in love with some idiot and you weren't taken by Beomgyu, I'd snatch you right away."
Taehyun was a bit surprised by the response, at first, he didn't understand what it meant at all. "Taken... by Beomgyu?"
"Hm?" Yeonjun tilted his head, his eyes widening in shock as if he didn't expect that answer. "Yeah, you and Beomgyu, you're a thing aren't you?"
"U-Uhm..."
"Like uh... boyfriends...?"
Boyfriends? Taehyun furrowed his eyebrows, recollecting any memories he learned about humans, that's when it hit him! Partners, romantic partners! Humans like romance!
But... there wasn't... any romance between him and Beomgyu at all... right?
He never really experienced what romance and love is like, he's experienced family love! But having a partner to care for him throughout eternity? That seems impossible.
Back at home, he never got to experience that, there was never someone or a star who had caught his attention! and being a royal star meant it was most likely useless to since he would be in an arranged marriage with a princess or prince in the neighboring kingdom.
But now... it had him wondering...
"Yeonjun," Taehyun spoke up, staring up at the male with big shiny eyes. "What does love feel like?"
"Oh! Wow, okay that was unexpected," Yeonjun was startled before chuckling softly. "I guess you and Beomgyu aren't a thing."
"I..." Taehyun hesitated, why did it bother him so much when Yeonjun had said that? "I.. just want to know, figure it out."
"You're confused about your feelings?" Yeonjun asked, seeing Taehyun nod. "Alright, I'll tell you from my point of view, since love for everyone is different."
The two of them got situated on the ground, since they were the only two in the room as others went outside to go grab a snack or whatever, it gave them a better opportunity to discuss this.
"How should I start..." Yeonjun hummed, tapping his chin. "Love isn't something that just appears out of nowhere, it's an emotion that gradually forms overtime, sometimes it takes others a while to realize."
"For me, love feels like a euphoric sensation but also a frustrating one. When you're around someone you find yourself falling for, all of your thoughts become them, everything you do is for them. You focus more on the littlest things, like what they wear... what they like to eat... what they enjoy, all of those tiny details."
"Not only does it take a toll on you emotionally and mentally, but also physically. You tend to find yourself wanting to have an appearance ideal to their type, dressing up perfectly just so you could get a compliment out of them, wearing perfumes that they adore the scent of."
"It's like this... euphoric butterfly like feeling in your stomach, as if someone had placed a cage of butterflies and released them, not allowing them to fly out as that ticklish feeling becomes overwhelming. Your heart, oh your heart starts to throb against your chest every second it gets, it tingles so much the moment they glance at you or you hear their voice."
"You tend to want to make them happier, be around them more, but you might be afraid of what they'll think of you or if they know you like them... but it's that sugar rush of ecstasy that drives you insane, the urge to just make them yours overwhelms you, a euphoric yet terrifying feeling."
As Taehyun sat there and listened to everything Yeonjun said, he couldn't help but correlate some of the emotions and sensations that the elder mentioned to how he felt with Beomgyu.
When he was around Beomgyu, he wanted nothing more than to spend every single second of the day next to him, even when he leaves for what he calls 'work' he couldn't help but feel so saddened he couldn't go with him.
There was something about seeing the elder smile, even when his smile seemed so empty, his heart felt content seeing such a warm expression plastered on the elders face.
He also wanted to be the reason why Beomgyu laughed, he didn't like seeing the elder so sad, he hated those dull eyes and how lonely he felt, he wanted to be there for him.
His stomach... would explode... like butterflies! The same exact butterfly feeling that Yeonjun had explained, he also always thought about Beomgyu 24/7, like in classes! He couldn't tear his eyes away from the elder who looked so charming when he was focused.
But... he has only known Beomgyu for three-ish days, could it be possible that he has... fallen...?
"Is there an exact time or limit someone has to reach to fall in love with someone?"
"Hmm..." Yeonjun hummed, leaning his head against the wall. "Not particularly, some people could form crushes in just a day or a couple hours, but I'd like to think the true love comes in gradually overtime."
Taehyun sat there for a few minutes, silently thinking about every single reaction and moment he has spent with Beomgyu, his heart going into an absolute mayhem as the bottle of mysterious began to crack bit by bit, his eyes widening little by little as he finally realized it.
The thought of leaving behind Beomgyu was always something he didn't dare think about, no matter how badly he missed his home kingdom and his family, there was this feeling that felt so sickening when he thought about it.
He really liked spending time with Beomgyu.
He liked Earth, he liked the weird things humans do to experience life, he liked the new emotions that he witnessed other than happiness.
He liked Earth... because Beomgyu was on Earth.
Taehyun didn't even realize that his ears began to flush a dark shade of red the longer he thought about Beomgyu, the one who had saved him.
From the moment Beomgyu had found him and tended to his wounds to where they are right now, Taehyun had always felt an undeniable pull towards the elder, not purely because he had saved him from death, but because there was something about Beomgyu that seemed so alluring.
He wanted to dive deep into that ocean of mystery, swim so deep that he discovers the undiscovered things about Beomgyu. He wanted to be the one to heal the elders mind, the one that he holds at night, the one whose lips touches his own, he wants him to be for him only.
That's when the thought about another human capturing all of Beomgyu's attention sent a bitter feeling through him, he didn't want that... he wants to be the one to capture Beomgyu's heart!
"Yeonjun hyung..." Taehyun's eyes widened, a newfound sense of emotions washed over him. "I-I think... I think I like Beomgyu- no- wait! I love him! I really really love him!"
Yeonjun's lips twitched up into a proud smile, he didn't really tell Taehyun this, but he had saw both him and Beomgyu walking together towards the music building. Their hands intertwined with one another as he saw some sort of weird tension between them, he also noticed an emotions in Beomgyu's eyes that he hadn't seen for so long.
It was only time until the two of them realized, he was glad that he managed to make one realize.
When Beomgyu had texted him about Taehyun and gave him some strange yet specific details of being with the male, he couldn't help but notice how passionate the male was with keeping Taehyun safe.
It was safe to say, that maybe this was finally a chance to see his best friend fill that loneliness in his heart that held him down for so long again.
"But what do I do...? It feels so weird!" Taehyun's face began to burn a bright red as this strange emotion called love coursed through him like a rollercoaster. "What... what if... Beomgyu doesn't like me loving him?"
"I'm pretty sure that's impossible," Yeonjun chuckled softly, finding the males reaction amusing, young love was adorable. "I guarantee you... just be patient, Beomgyu... is still healing, but when he feels like he's in a position where he's ready to love again, you two will be together."
Taehyun couldn't help but nod his head and smiled softly, the thought of being the one that gets to spend eternity with Beomgyu made him so giddy.
"By the way, I'm gonna go get some snacks, do you want anything?"
"Rock candy!"
Yeonjun was a bit startled that Taehyun requested something so strange, with an apologetic smile, he shook his head. "I don't think the school has that, but I could get you some skittles, is that fine?"
"Oh..." Taehyun was a little bit hesitant, but if it was candy, he would take it. "Sure, thank you!"
"Mhm!"
As Yeonjun left the dance room, it finally gave Taehyun the moment to be alone, with a small sigh the male closed his eyes and leaned his head back onto the wall, allowing his sore body to relax.
Wow...
He was in love with Beomgyu.
He never felt so... childish, so happy!
A new discovered feeling had sent him down a hill of new emotions, just the thought of seeing Beomgyu after class was enough to bring him energy throughout the day, he wanted to tell the elder right away and confess everything to him!
But Yeonjun was right...
No matter how ready he was, he needed to wait. Beomgyu was hurting, although he doesn't really know or understand the deep pain the elder was expericing, he knew it was better to wait for him!
He would wait eternity to have his favorite humans heart.
The male sat there in silence for a few minutes, unaware of the person that had walked into the dance room and began to approach him, sitting down next to him silently.
That's when thet terrorizing dreadful feeling washed over Taehyun, his stomach twisting in such an anxious way which made him immediately freeze up.
"Astrophel... my prince."
Taehyun's heart dropped as he slowly opened his eyes, hearing that name he hadn't heard for so long sent a wave of fear throughout his body, slowly looking over to his side to see Kageno smiling eerily at him.
All alerts went off in Taehyun's mind as he immediately recognize what this person was.
"My prince, beauty of the stars," Kageno said under his breath, loud enough for Taehyun to hear. "Did you really think that just because you found a new planet to hide on and a new appearance, I wouldn't be able to recognize you?"
Taehyun immediately scrambled onto his legs as he backed up away from the male whose sinister and malicious aura suffocated him, his eyes widening in fear as Kageno only smirked.
"How- How are you here?!"
"Oh, my dearest fallen star," Kageno stood up and slowly approached Taehyun, his aura becoming so suffocating, it nearly made the male pass out. "It's my mission to find you, to bring you home."
"You... you attacked... you attacked my kingdom!" Taehyun's fear slowly began to turn into rage.
Aoi Kageno, whose real name was Sirius, was part of the black star family.
The same family who attacked his beloved kingdom and nearly wiped out his entire family, now holding them hostage as all of his people and citizens fought for their kingdom and family.
"Oh, pretty fallen star, don't feel so angry towards me!" Kageno chuckled, thriving off of the fear that Taehyun emitted. "Life would be so much easier if you complied and returned home."
Taehyun shook his head, shakily pressing himself against the wall as Kageno began to approach him closer, he could feel the murderous intent that he had towards him, his heart began to race as his mind began to scream for Beomgyu to come and save him.
It wasn't until a black sparkly mist formed around Kageno's hand, Taehyun's eyes trailing down as he saw a sharp dagger made out of black crystal form, his eyes widening when he realized what the black star was planning to do.
"Now just be princess and stay quiet for me."
Just before Kageno could swing down and impale him, the male immediately sprung into action and pushed himself forward, pushing down Kageno with all of his might as the two of them fell onto the ground, the black star groaning loudly as Taehyun rolled onto the floor in pain.
"You fucking bitch!" Kageno's eyes began to turn pitch black, causing Taehyun to immediately scatter onto his feet. "I'm going to kill you first then your pathetic family!"
Taehyun's breath hitched as he got up and ran out of the dance room right away, passing by Yeonjun who was startled by the male, but he didn't care, what mattered more was getting away from that psychotic black star who tried to kill him in pure daylight.
Panic and fear was swirling through his veins as he made a run for it down the schools hallway, his heart throbbing against his chest as he felt the malicious aura behind him, causing him to push his legs faster.
The male had no idea where he was running towards, it was like a race against time itself as he pushed the doors open and made it outside, his heart throbbing against his chest as he tried to remember what building Beomgyu could've been in.
"Astrophel!"
The horrifying scream that Kageno made brought Taehyun back to his senses, all his thoughts in that moment faded away as his flight or fight mode came on, immediately running towards whatever he saw in order to hide.
His legs were burning in pain, his chest aching, and his throat burned, but he couldn't stop running because there was a psychopathic murderer from his kingdom behind him!
Taehyun swiftly turned the corner and ran down some alleyway until his eyes widened seeing he had hit a dead end, his knees trembling in fear as he stared at the wall, immediately punching himself for trapping himself!
Slowly turning around, he saw Kageno appear right behind him, an angry scowl plastered over his face as he slowly approached the star who trembled and fell down onto his ass, crawling away from him pathetically.
"I can't believe you're the next heir for the throne," Kageno spat out as he approached Taehyun and immediately kicked the male in the stomach, causing him to cry out as he was sent flying into the wall. "You're pathetic, you know? A useless royal star leading a whole kingdom, you should've died with your family."
Taehyun cried out loudly when the black star had sent another painful kick into his stomach, causing him to curl up as he tried to push himself back up, only to have a foot pressed down onto his back, keeping him down on the floor.
"It's time to bring honor to my family," Kageno gave Taehyun a crazy smile, his black eyes glinting with pride. "Me, Sirius, killing the crowned prince of Estella, doesn't that sound so satisfying, my fallen star?"
"Your family is pathetic," Taehyun said, gritting his teeth tightly. "You black stars are pathetic, starting wars because your kingdom is too weak to thrive."
Something Inside of Kageno snapped the moment Taehyun had insulted his family.
In a blink of an eye, the male presssd onto Taehyun harder and practically suffocated him against the floor, his eyes burning with hatred as he lifted his hand, that glowing black mist forming once again.
"You royal stars think you're so powerful," Kageno's voice trembled with pure rage as black spikes began to manifest out of thin air, the tip glinting underneath the faint sun. "You think just because you're so... so powerful, you can degrade anyone and anything!"
"I'll kill you!"
Taehyun's eyes widened as panic began to set in seeing how sharp those floating spikes were, they could easily impale him within a few seconds.
He can't die.
Not yet.
it'll hurt beomgyu.
he can't die
he can't die
he needs beomgyu.
With a trembling breath, Taehyun slowly extended his hand and tried to manifest some of his powers, which didn't go unnoticed by Kageno who immediately stepped on his hand, a loud crack echoing out which made the star cry loudly.
"I'll show you pathetic Estella's what true power is," Kageno smiled psychopathically, raising his hand as the spikes immediately pointed down towards the prince on the ground. "It starts with me killing off the prince of stars!"
In that moment, Kageno swung his hand down.
"What the fuck, how the fuck did you get C as an answer when the answer is literally D?"
"What the fuck do you mean?! This question doesn't make any sense!"
"That's because you didn't fucking pay attention during this unit!"
Beomgyu groaned loudly as he rolled his eyes, aggressively erasing the eighteenth wrong answer he had gotten on his paper, studying with Soobin really made him want to die.
For the past hour, it's been an endless hour of bickering between the two friends, but it helped distracted Beomgyu from the nervous wreck he was about to become the longer he was away from Taehyun.
But he wouldn't lie, there was a strange gut feeling in his stomach, but he decided to ignore it.
The two of them worked on a problem quietly before Beomgyu's phone started to aggressively buzz, causing him to glance up and immediately read the message sent by Yeonjun.
"Hey," Soobin glanced up and saw a frightened expression washed over Beomgyu's face. "Are you—"
Beomgyu immediately got up from his seat and bolted out of the library, ignoring the concerning calls from Soobin as he ran out and outside as his heart raced against his chest.
That message Yeonjun sent made Beomgyu forget every single thing and only focus on one thing.
taehyun.
' hey ! don't know if you're busy, but I just saw Taehyun running outside with a frightened look and this dude was behind him! i can't leave class, so can you find him? '
Beomgyu wasn't dumb, he knew exactly what could cause Taehyun to run like that.
There was an assassin after him.
Fuck. fuck fuck! Beomgyu thought as he grabbed his hair, Taehyun could be anywhere on this huge campus. I have to find him- I can't-
I can't lose him, please don't let me lose him!
The male was nearly about to have a mental breakdown before a light blue star formed in front of him, his eyes widening as Astra appeared out of no where in the same exact panic as he was.
"Astra!" Beomgyu called out for the little star. "Lead me to Taehyun!"
The blue star shined brightly and immediately flew away from Beomgyu, a signal for the male to follow it, in which he didn't hesitate at all to do.
It took nearly five minutes of running until the two of them reached a random alleyway, Beomgyu stumbling into it as he saw two figures, one on the ground highly injured.
That's when Beomgyu's vision turned pure red, finally catching the sight of his star injured on the ground.
Without a second thought, the male saw the person in front of Taehyun raise their hands, some weird black spikes forming, that's when his body went on autopilot as he grabbed a random metal pipe on the ground and ran towards the male.
"It's starts with me killing the prince of stars!"
The moment he heard that, Beomgyu pushed himself more and ran towards the male, just before the person could swing his hand down, Beomgyu screamed loudly and raised his hand, catching the person off guard as he swung the metal pipe onto the persons head, causing their head to twist sideways as they fell down to the ground, the black spikes immediately disappearing within that second.
"Beomgyu hyung?!" Taehyun gasped loudly, his eyes widening when he saw the male standing there with widened eyes.
Beomgyu glanced down at the star in front of him, his heart breaking by the second when he saw how weak he was. His face was pressed onto the ground so harshly, he was certain there were bruises on him, his hand was trembling as a few of his fingers were twisted in such ways he couldn't bear to see without being sick.
"My star," Beomgyu's voice trembled as he dropped the metal pipe, letting it echo out as he immediately crouched down and grabbed onto the male. "I'm so... i'm so sorry."
Taehyun hissed loudly as his hand was throbbing in pain, droplets of golden flowed from the side of his head as he looked up at Beomgyu with a broken smile.
"My savior," Taehyun spoke softly, small black dots appearing in his vision. "I knew you'd come! Don't apologize."
Beomgyu's lips began to tremble, fear washing through his body as he stared at the stars state.
it hurt
it hurt
he can't stand this
why
why was he so late
one second late and taehyun would've died
it would be his fault
he wasn't there
he nearly died
he should've stayed with him
"My Beomgyu," Taehyun's honey voice broke through his panic. "Don't be scared! I'll be okay! It's not that bad, I'm just slightly injured."
Beomgyu's lips began to tremble more as his eyes began to wield up tears, slowly standing up as he held the star in a bridal position, glancing over at the person who threatened to kill him who seemed unconscious... or dead, he didn't care.
"Let's get you home."
That was all Beomgyu could mutter before walking away from the spot, feeling the star weakly nod his head as he fell into a state of unconsciousness, causing the male to choke up on his own dry tears.
He blamed himself.
If only he had stayed with the star, just be outside of the building like a weirdo, none of that could've happened.
He was supposed to protect Taehyun, save him, yet here he was carrying the unconscious star back to his car all injured.
It was like guilt had began to suffocate him with an invisible bag, causing him to choke on his own tears as every step he took towards the car began to feel heavier and heavier, as if his own body was punishing him for not saving Taehyun on time, now having to face the consequences of the star being injured.
It was only the first day of human school for the star, and he failed to make it perfect.
He hated himself for it.
Looking down at the star, he leaned his head down and pressed a gentle kiss onto the males forehead, it was the only thing that felt right to do.
Fastening his pace after hearing the bell ring that the school day was over, Beomgyu gritted his teeth tightly as anger blinded him.
He was an idiot for letting Taehyun be alone.
₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆
Taehyun's eyes fluttered open slowly, squinting in pain as the faint sunlight blinded him through the blinds as he slowly awoken to consciousness.
A low groan left his lips as his head throbbed with pure pain, his hand tingling weirdly as his stomach felt absolutely numb.
It hurt, his entire body hurt.
Slowly sitting up on the... comfy... bed...?
The males eyes shot wide open as he sat up straight, ignoring how it sent a throbbing pain throughout his stomach as he looked around, his heart throbbing against his chest as he realized he was inside of Beomgyu's room.
The low panic that nearly began to rise died down, trying to catch his breath as he looked over and saw his hand bandaged up, which immediately made him slip the blanket off as a bandage was wrapped around his stomach, which lead to him slowly touching the side of his head, flinching softly as he felt a soft bandaid there.
Blinking for a few seconds, all of the memories of what had happened what it seemed like a few hours ago.
Beomgyu saved him.
Beomgyu... saved... him!
Taehyun began to smile softly as he felt an odd rush of warmth spread across his cheeks, remembering how in that moment where he felt like his life was about to end, the brunette had appeared out of no where and knocked Kageno out with some metal pipe...? He could barely remember.
A sigh of relief left his lips as he looked around wondering where Beomgyu went—
It wasn't until the door had opened, causing Taehyun to flinch as he made eye contact with Beomgyu who immediately froze the moment he laid eyes on him.
The two of them awkwardly stared at each other for what it felt like eternity, the star was the first to break eye contact as he glanced down at the small little bag of what it seemed to be bandaids and such before looking back up at Beomgyu.
With a small smile, he waved. "Hi hyung—"
In just a split second, Beomgyu had dropped the back and practically teleported towards Taehyun, the male wasting no time as he wrapped his arms around the star and held him close, a choked out sob leaving his lips as he held Taehyun's head close to his chest, allowing him to hear his heartbeat.
Taehyun blinked for a couple of seconds as he processed what the hell had just happened, it wasn't until he felt the elders trembling hands touch the back of his head, that's when his body melted into the warmth of his human.
"Taehyun," Beomgyu spoke shakily, his voice cracking as he held the star so close, he could barely let go. "My star, my beautiful star, you're awake."
Taehyun would've said something, but his face was squished against the elders chest, which made it impossible for him to say anything.
So he sat there and wrapped his arms around Beomgyu, feeling the elder melt into his arms as the two of them stayed there silently, basking in the warmth of each other's embrace.
It wasn't until Beomgyu finally began to speak up, his trembling breath doing unpleasant things to Taehyun's heart.
"You were out cold for nearly two days, Taehyun, two days!" Beomgyu said, which made his eyes widen, he thought it was only a couple of hours! "I couldn't... I... I feel so bad, I was supposed to protect you, I'm so sorry."
"Hyung..." Taehyun pulled away from the hug once he felt Beomgyu's hold become weak, staring up at the elder who avoided eye contact. "You saved me! That's what matters right? It's okay—"
"It's not okay Taehyun, fuck!" Beomgyu raised his voice, causing Taehyun's eyes to widen, it was the first time he had ever heard Beomgyu raise his voice. "It doesn't matter if it's okay or not, what if I had never gotten that text from Yeonjun? What if I never followed Astra to you? What if I never knew you had been attacked? You could've died Taehyun! It would've been my fault, you say I can protect you and save you, when I can't even protect myself!"
"Beomgyu—"
"I can't... I can't stand the thought of losing you so soon," Beomgyu's voice broke softly as his tone began to lower a bit. "Just... just seeing you on the ground, hurt, made me feel so terrified I didn't know what to do, I didn't know if you'd survive or if you'd make it, I can't... lose you."
"I already lost my mother, I can't lose you too, Taehyun."
The minute Beomgyu finished talking, that was the minute all his repressed feelings and emotions broke free, causing him to sob loudly as tears began to roll down his eyes as he held onto Taehyun tighter, afraid that if he were to let go, then his star would disappear again.
It had been so long since he had actually cried like this, heavy tears rolling down his face as he began to suffocate on his own sobs, his whole mind becoming fuzzy as only the painful thoughts spread through his mind.
He felt so scared, so terrified, it was a newfound feeling he began to experience.
The thought of losing another person he cared so much about made him terrified, unable to process anything correctly as he held onto Taehyun tightly, wishing on every star to not take him away from him again.
"I... I don't know why you trust me with your life," Beomgyu sobbed loudly, unaware that Taehyun was starting to tremble in his hold as well. "I can't even protect myself, I nearly let myself go, but now I'm here taking care of someone so important, I don't know why you would place your life in my hands to protect! I'm the worst person ever, I nearly let you die—"
"But you didn't let me die!" Taehyun said loudly, pushing Beomgyu off of him which made the elder bounce back onto his butt, his eyes widening when he saw the male with... teary... eyes? "You saved me! I'm still alive because of you!"
It was now Taehyun's turn to join the sob fest, the males eyes sparkling with tears as thick fat tears rolled down his face before dropping onto the bed, turning into small little stars that began to float around him.
"You found me, you saved me, you healed me! You've shown me so much about the human world in just a few days, I trust you Beomgyu!" Taehyun began to sob louder, the small tear drop stars becoming larger.
"If it weren't for you, I would've died! Kageno would've killed me, but you saved me." Taehyun covered his face with trembling hands. "I hate it so much, I really really hate it, the way you degrade yourself... think of yourself not worth anything when it's completely wrong!"
"It frustrates me!" Taehyun raised his voice louder, pure pain cracking through. "Why can't you see yourself the way I see you?! I admire you, Beomgyu! You're so strong for hanging on, you fight back, I just lay there pathetically and let myself be hurt, but I knew deep down you would save me because you're always there for me!"
"So why can't you realize..." Taehyun took his hands away from his face as he slowly looked up at the elder. "Why can't you realize..."
"...that the reason I trust you so much with my life is because I fell in love you...?"
In that moment, time froze as the two of them stared at each other, faint sounds of heavy breathing was only heard as the two of them said nothing after Taehyun's sudden confession.
Beomgyu sat there with widened eyes, starstruck with the new information that just went straight into his head, engraving itself into his mind. The beautiful star that crash landed into his life, Taehyun, was in love with him?
He couldn't speak at all, all of the memories and moments the two of them spent together now were rearranged as viewed as something different in Beomgyu's eyes.
From the moment he had laid his eyes on the star, he had never felt so overwhelmed in that moment. Taehyun was beyond the word pretty, he was more than the word beautiful, he was as if serenity itself came to life and took a human form.
Those hours where he would spend thinking of how to make Taehyun's time on Earrh perfect and make sure he would be safe and protected from any costs harm wasn't purely because of his newfound role as a protector, but it was something more.
Every minute he spent with Taehyun was strange, for sure, but he couldn't help but always want the star around in his life, he didn't want him to look at anyone else but him, the way he oh so easily trusted him with his entire life sent fireworks inside of his stomach.
That's when deep down in his heart, that painful icy wall that kept all of his feelings shut out melted right away, a disaster of emotions overtook him as he slowly began to break again.
For years, he separated himself from everyone who came close to him, keeping only a few people around to satisfy the hunger of needing someone or something to fill his empty heart, yet he always chased after something he could never have.
Until Taehyun came along, until Taehyun had crashed landed into his life and made his whole entire world change.
It was that faint foreign feeling of finally having his heart full of love and hope, a hope that he could truly be happy again.
It wasn't just because of the role of needing to protect Taehyun, it was something more.
It was the urge to protect someone he had fallen in love with.
For days, he's been denying it, cause who could fall in love with someone in just one day?
He guesses that was wrong though, even though he had Taehyun around for nearly a week, he couldn't help but realize that in that entire week, was the only ever time he had truly felt happy in years, that the emptiness and loneliness in his heart truly didn't have a home inside of his heart, Taehyun did.
The star that fell into his life was the exact star he had slowly started to fall in love with.
It was his second chance of truly loving someone again, and he wasn't going to waste it.
So as he slowly snapped back into reality, Beomgyu wasted no time as he leaned forward and grabbed the males face before pressing his lips against Taehyun's, causing the male to gasp loudly before melting into the kiss, pressing back desperately as his hands gripped the elders shirt tightly, pulling him closer.
Their lips danced against one another, molding against one another perfectly, now that Beomgyu had finally gotten the taste of the star on his lip, he slowly became addicted.
He wanted nothing more than to make him happy.
The eternal loneliness inside of his heart faded away as it was slowly replaced with a feeling of adoration and lovesick warmth, pulling Taehyun closer as he pulled the male down and pinned him down, pressing against his lips harder as a soft whimper was heard underneath him.
For years, he thought he was cursed. That he would never get a chance to experience eternal happiness again, but he was wrong.
That's when the faint memory of his wish replayed through his mind.
"...I wish to not be lonely anymore, for this hollowness in my heart to be replaced with true happiness."
Beomgyu's own words replayed throughout his mind, his heart throbbing against his chest as his eyes widened as he pulled away from the males lips, allowing the both of them to catch air.
Staring down at the beauty below him, he could help but engrave the sight of Taehyun's flushed face and puffy lips, the way they were slightly parted as he gasped for air and his eyes were hooded, staring up at the elder with desperation in his eyes.
The wish he had made on that fateful meteor night... could it be...
That his wish had came true, that it was fate for him to meet Taehyun, to fall in love with him, and finally gain back that emotion he thought he had forever lost...?
Was Taehyun... his true happiness.
"I really love you," Taehyun whispered softly, breaking Beomgyu out of his trance, holding onto the elders wrist tightly. "Even if I never experienced it before, I want you to be my first love, the first person I fall in love with."
"I really really love you Beomgyu hyung!"
That's when Beomgyu knew deep down in his heart, his small speculation might've been correct, he had wished on a star for true happiness... and here he was... he was sent a star.
"I love you too, Taehyun," Beomgyu breathed out, that heavy guilt slowly disappeared off of his back once he finally admitted it. "I love you so much, I'm sorry it took so long for me to realize it."
Taehyun broke out into a smile as he practically started to sparkle, an ecstasy of joy and excitement washed over him as he shined brightly underneath the golden hues of the sun.
As if their hearts were intertwined by one string, connected the both of their souls together, the two of them shared another passionate kiss, their newfound feelings towards one another swirling around them in a mess as they both held onto each other desperately.
Beomgyu had fallen in love with Taehyun.
He didn't regret it one bit.
Although the feeling was so strange, so foreign, he couldn't help but bask in the emotion, a genuine smile growing on his lips as he gently bit the bottom of Taehyun's lip, causing the star to gasp loudly as he slipped his tongue inside of the males mouth, tilting his head side ways to deepen the kiss.
Just before the two of them got more desperate, the sound of footsteps echoed out behind them—
"Beomgyu! I have the—" Soobin paused as he saw the whole make out session going on in the males room. "OH MY FUCKING GOD—"
Both Beomgyu and Taehyun immediately pulled away from one another, a small string of saliva connecting their lips as the both of them turned to look over at Soobin who was frightened to the core, staring at the two of them like a terrified hamster.
"You- guys- oh... my—"
"Close the fucking door!" Beomgyu growled loudly, his eyebrows furrowing as Soobin immediately nodded and grabbed onto the doorknob, slamming the door shut.
Beomgyu slowly glanced over at Taehyun, the star looking up at him in a hazy daze before the two of them broke out into a small fit of laughter, hearing Soobin screech outside about how he was going to bleach his eyes and gouge out his ears.
"He'll be okay," Beomgyu mumbled softly, smiling at Taehyun who blushed underneath him. "So you love me?"
"I-I..." Taehyun suddenly began to become shy, his confidence flying out the window and into the stars as he looked away. "I do..."
Beomgyu hummed as he leaned down and pressed kisses onto the stars neck, feeling him shiver underneath him from the foreign feeling.
"I love you too," Beomgyu whispered underneath his breath, watching Taehyun's eyes widened as his pupil expanded. "My star."
Beomgyu gently grabbed the males chin and forced him to look directly at him, diving in for another kiss as the two of them messily pressed their lips against one another, Taehyun desperately holding the elder close as his stomach began to tingle.
Just before things could go further than they already were, Beomgyu leaned back and smiled softly, making sure to not press down on the stars injuries anymore.
"U-Uhm..." Taehyun stuttered out, slowly sitting up as he nervously glanced down at the elders lips, already missing the feeling. "I-If we both love each other, does.. does that mean.. we can be boyfriends?"
Beomgyu hummed as he tried to ignore the swirling butterflies in his stomach, the way Taehyun had said that so adorably, it made him want to devour him more.
"I'm unsure," Beomgyu said softly, watching Taehyun's eyes widen. "Only if you accept me as your boyfriend."
Taehyun's body visibly relaxed as he broke out into a smile and nodded his head, small stars sparkling around them as he pulled Beomgyu closer, wrapping his arms around the elder as he pressed a wet kiss onto his forehead.
"Of course I want you as my boyfriend! You're the first and only ever human I'll fall in love with!"
Beomgyu couldn't help but smile widely, wrapping his arms around his boyfriend tightly as he held him close.
He would've never imagined in just a few days, he easily fell in love with the star he had saved, but he didn't regret it one bit.
All of those past pains that devoured Beomgyu as a whole faded away, leaving him behind as it was replaced with a new feeling, a swirling tornado of emotions mixed between happiness and pure love.
He had finally found his eternal happiness again, after spending so long to heal.
Although deep down, that scar that left a mark in his heart was still there, allowing some pain to linger behind... but it was okay.
He had Taehyun now, his beautiful star.
"I love you," He heard Taehyun mumble softly, his pretty eyes staring into the elders eyes. "Beomgyu hyung."
Beomgyu smiled softly, leaning forward as he pressed his forehead against the males.
He was going to take care of the both of them, take care of Taehyun's heart.
"I love you too, my beautiful star."

A month had passed ever since the two of them had confessed to one another.
An entire month, of loving each other endlessly.
At first, it was a bit awkward, since the two of them were each other's first ever proper relationship, but that didn't stop them at all.
Soobin was the first to know about their relationship after awkwardly walking in on them making out, but after getting over that awkward stage, the male was more than supportive about them two, claiming that he knew from the start that they would get together! Now if only he would confess to Yeonjun...
Speaking of Yeonjun, the elder was the second to know about Taehyun and Beomgyu's sudden relationship, after Kageno had mysteriously dropped out of the university, that made the atmosphere more lighter for Taehyun to come back to class. Breaking the news to the orange haired male who was beyond excited, saying that he was so happy to know that he was the one to make Taehyun realize his feelings.
Now Huening Kai...? The male was one, shocked, and two, excited that Beomgyu had finally found happiness but also a bit sad that he was the last one to discover about Taehyun! But then again, after one conversation, the two of them clicked instantly and became close friends, which made Beomgyu a bit jealous, but he understood why they clicked so fast since they were the "same" age.
For the next month, the two of them fell into a comfortable rhythmic schedule.
Beomgyu would wake the both of them up, allow Taehyun to get ready for school as he made breakfast for the two of them and Soobin, making sure his star was well fed before leaving for the day.
On the days where the two of them shared classes, they would stick around each other like little twin popsicle sticks, never leaving one another unless one had to go. Beomgyu would meet with Taehyun outside of his music building right away as the two of them discussed about how their day went, occasionally walking with Soobin who joined the two of them whenever he felt like it.
On the days Beomgyu had work, Taehyun would go home with Soobin, the two of them becoming close friends as the male taught him more about the strange game called 'Overwatch" that angered Beomgyu a lot.
It was comfortable, adjusting to the human life was much more easier for Taehyun now that he had Beomgyu to guide him.
And staying true to his words, Beomgyu not only protected Taehyun's life, but also his heart.
He made sure nothing, and he means nothing, ever injured Taehyun again.
On the nights where the male would feel homesick, he would take him to the rooftop where they would stargaze, allowing Taehyun to talk about what life was like in the cosmic kingdom called Estella.
Who knew that Choi Beomgyu, the person who didn't believe in that dumb fairy tale, would end up being in love with the prince of that said fairy tale.
It felt unreal.
Even though Beomgyu was still healing from the pain of his past, he knew it was better with Taehyun around, that dark tunnel he had mindlessly walked through for years finally shed a light, that light being the star who had reached out with his hand and pulled Beomgyu away from that infinite tunnel of sadness, showcasing him an entire new world full of colors.
With every given day, it was a day where Beomgyu would fall harder and harder for the star that claimed a spot in his life.
It made him feel like a teenager once again, as if he were in high school with the most childish crush on someone, only ever wanting to spend his entire day with them.
Life with Taehyun was brighter and happier, Beomgyu felt so youthful again.
So that's how it came to now, the two of them cuddled up against one another as the two of them watched some Disney movie that Taehyun had chosen, the male was really getting hyper fixated on these movies lately.
Even though Taehyun was cold, Beomgyu was enough to make him feel warm, something about the males sparkling cold skin against his warm one made him feel so comfortable.
He wanted to stay like this forever.
"This is like the eighteenth time you guys have been watching Tangled in this month now," Yeonjun spoke up, chewing on some popcorn obnoxiously.
Oh, right, Beomgyu had forgotten the three annoying mice were in the apartment.
"You're a hater," Huening Kai scoffed, glaring at the male who threw some popcorn at him. "Tangled is forever!"
"I agree with Yeonjun though... I think we should—"
"Shut up!" Beomgyu scowled loudly, glaring at Soobin. "You only say that because you have a cr—"
Soobin immediately stood up and yelled loudly, covering his ears as he ran out of the living room and to his room to coward and hide from literally everyone in the room, leaving behind a blushing Yeonjun who had pieced everything together.
Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Huening Kai all stared at the elder who began to flush even more red, his eyebrows furrowing from the unwanted attention. "What the fuck are you guys looking at?!"
"You should go to your lover boy!" Huening Kai teased, wiggling his eyebrows. "He might be waiting for you with big lips and—"
"You all are idiots... except you Taehyun!" Yeonjun groaned loudly, standing up as he closely followed Soobin behind, calling out for the male who seemed even more terrified now.
Beomgyu chuckled softly and slowly glanced down to the star next to him, he had his arms wrapped around his chest tightly as he practically squished the right side of his face onto his torso, basically using Beomgyu as a big teddy bear.
The male caressed the back of Taehyun's head softly, watching how the stars eyes fluttered closed for a few seconds as he leaned back into Beomgyu's touch, reminding him of a cat who craved physical attention.
He never wanted this moment to end, just the two of them "alone" together forever and until eternity.
However, for the past few days, it was obvious that something deep down was bothering him, a pain that no matter how hard he tried, would always come back to him.
It was soon May 13th in three days, which meant it would be the sixth year anniversary of his mother's passing.
The day that Beomgyu absolutely dreaded throughout the entire year, just seeing the day on his calendar made him sick to his stomach.
But... when he looked over at his precious star cuddled up against him, he felt more at ease, as if that cannibalistic painful guilt had went from a large tsunami, ready to drown him, to a shallow pool where you can stay afloat for a short period of time.
Maybe this year, it wouldn't be so bad.
"You seem sad," He heard Taehyun softly speak up, the star staring up at him with those pretty brown eyes. "Are you going to produce water works?"
"I'm not going to produce 'water works' don't worry," Beomgyu smiled softly and gently caressed the males cheek. "I'm just a bit tired, can I go to sleep?"
Taehyun nodded his head as he scooched away from the male, allowing for him to stand up and smile, gently placing a kiss onto the stars forehead as he wished Huening Kai and him goodnight before taking his leave to his room where he knew Taehyun would join him later.
Both Huening Kai and Taehyun sat there in silence, a strange tension forming as the star furrowed his eyebrows, a bit uncomfortable with how Beomgyu was acting.
"You're concerned, aren't you?"
Taehyun looked up over at Huening Kai, the male staring at him as he nodded his head. "He seemed uhm... off..."
Huening Kai nodded his head, getting up from his spot as he sat next to Taehyun who didn't mind at all. "Do you know what's in three days?"
Taehyun paused for a second. "Wednesday...?"
Huening Kai snickered softly before shaking his head, his soft smile falling slightly. "No, no, I mean technically yes...? I'm unsure whether I'm allowed to tell you or not but your hyung's boyfriend so!"
Taehyun's face flushed red at what his new friend had said, it felt so weird! For all of his eternal life on Estelle, he's been taught one thing and that was how to rule his kingdom, but now... he's fallen in love with a human! Cross that off his "unexpected events" list!
It was nice though, that human term "boyfriend", it felt so intimate! It made Taehyun want everyone to just call Beomgyu "Taehyun's boyfriend" instead of Beomgyu from now on!
"I assume that Beomgyu told you about his mother... right?" Huening Kai asked him, which made Taehyun get his head out of the stars.
"Oh..." Taehyun's eyes widened, it was just about a month ago when he and Beomgyu first met, talking about their feelings underneath the sparkling night sky, where the elder had trusted him with sacred information about himself. "Y-Yes! He did."
"Mhm," Huening Kai was a bit hesitant, it was understandable though, the topic wasn't an easy one to grasp on. "His mother... her... passing, on wednesday marks the sixth year Beomgyu had lost her."
Taehyun's eyebrows furrowed a little, tracing back to his life in the kingdom so far away, he remembers that some families will spend time on a specific day to remember and honor the star that had burnt out of their lives, maybe that is what it was like for humans as well.
Which would explain why Beomgyu looked so miserable the closer that day came, it made Taehyun's heart hurt.
"Is there... anything I could do?" Taehyun asked the male, his heart burning with guilt, it was a bit hard to understand humans fully but he wanted his boyfriend to be happy.
"Just be there for hyung," Huening Kai said. "Comfort him, reassure that there is someone in his life who truly sees him, he tends to isolate himself from everyone during this time, but i'm sure you'll break that cycle."
Taehyun nodded his head, figuring out what exactly he could do to comfort his favorite human.
"Alright!" Huening Kai clasped his hands together happily, changing the topic. "I'll go get Yeonjun hyung from Soobin's room, let's hope they're not making out! Let's hang out more tomorrow!"
Taehyun nodded his head as Huening Kai got up from the couch, walking away from the male as he went to Soobin's room where the faint sounds of voices were heard, leaving him all alone in the living room.
The star sat there silently, watching the TV as the scene where Rapunzel and Flynn Rider arrive at the lake where the lanterns appear, but he just couldn't focus, he was really bothered by something.
So, he grabbed the remote and turned the TV off, not bothering to wish a proper goodbye towards Yeonjun and Huening Kai since they'll most likely be back tomorrow.
Instead, he got up from the couch and walked over to Beomgyu's room, slowly opening the door as he peeked his head in and saw the elder asleep on the bed, which made him more at ease knowing he hadn't locked himself away to produce anymore water works.
With quiet footsteps, Taehyun slowly closed the door and walked over towards the elder, slowly getting onto the bed as he moved Beomgyu's arm and placed it over himself, staring up at the prettiest human he had laid his eyes on.
Almost on instinct, Beomgyu had wrapped his arms around Taehyun properly and held him closer, practically burying the stars face into the crook of his neck, in which he didn't mind at all.
Taehyun stared at his boyfriend with (literal) stars in his eyes, relaxing his body as Astra slowly appeared, sprinkling down little tiny bits of stardust onto him, which allowed his pink hair and regular eye color to come back.
Taehyun stared at the male silently, admiring every little feature about Beomgyu, he really liked the smallest features he could see when you looked at him long enough.
But he felt so sad, he wanted to make sure that the heart that Beomgyu had was filled with love, not sadness!
So with a soft sigh, the male closed his eyes, although he doesn't usually need to sleep at night and would much rather spend time admiring the stars above and how his family was at home, he decided to stay by Beomgyu's side.
In hopes that maybe he would get an idea of how to heal his lovers broken heart.

Three days had now passed, Beomgyu's mental state worsening by the hours.
At first, it wasn't very noticeable, the male was always giving it his all to make sure everyone knew he was okay, but as the days went by it was clear that the upcoming event really affected him.
So that's why Taehyun sat out in the living room with Soobin in silence, neither of the two dared to enter Beomgyu's room as the male requested to be left alone for a while, which basically meant the whole day.
From the start, it was obvious Beomgyu wasn't in the right mental space to talk to anyone, handing in his phone to Soobin and politely asking Taehyun to give him some space, locking himself inside of his room for hours on ends.
If they were quiet enough, they would hear the faint sobs of the male.
Taehyun hated it, he wanted to be inside of that room, tend to his lover, heal him.
But he couldn't, Soobin wouldn't let him and Beomgyu shut him out.
"It's okay," Soobin spoke up, causing him to glance over at the male. "It's been like this, just give him time alone."
He doesn't want to give Beomgyu time alone.
As selfish as that sounds, the elder has spent way too long alone, it was unhealthy!
He just doesn't know what he could do to heal him.
"Did you know that Beomgyu originally wanted to create music?" Soobin asked him, obviously trying to change the topic to make Taehyun happier.
"Really?" Taehyun was a bit startled, he had only ever seen Beomgyu study stuff about astronomy and other subjects related to it. "Why didn't he?"
"Because of his mother," Soobin spoke softly, staring back at the TV which played some kdrama. "She had adored the starlights above, always wanting to explore the clarity of space, but she couldn't. So Beomgyu took the chance to honor her dream, work hard, discover a planet and name it after her, he really loved her."
Taehyun bit the bottom of his lip, every word that Soobin had just said processed through his mind properly. He couldn't believe that Beomgyu had spent so long suffering, he truly thought that the elder would finally be happy, no more sadness, but after spending so long on Earth he finally realized something about humans.
sadness doesn't just go away under a day.
It takes time to heal, even the happiest people could be sad for years.
"I remember Beomgyu telling me something that his mother had told him," Soobin said, his eyes full of a dreamy daydream, reminiscing about the moment. "He had told me that his mother told him not everyone truly leaves the Earth."
"What do you mean?"
"As in... we don't just die for no reason, that beyond our lifespan, we turn into the stars in the sky, watching over our loved ones as we burn bright, lightening up the dark nights."
That was the first time Taehyun has ever heard something so... precious. He had never ever heard something so beautiful about the life after death, it even made him take a few minutes to process that in his mind. Back on Estella, he had seen people die, but instead of normally dying like humans do, stars just burn up all of their energy until they're nothing, basically... poof!
Unless you were a royal star like him, it would take forever to die easily unless a specific material was used, black star granite.
Thanks to royal stars and their special powers to create stars and manipulate stardust and cosmic rocks, it's the main reason why they're alive for so long.
If it was true... that... humans turn into stars, then his eyes widened as an idea formed in his head.
He would have to wait for night time though.
Once the clock had hit twelve, Taehyun had stood up from his and looked over at Soobin slumped on the couch, the two of them had a movie marathon for nearly four hours, which was a little bit fun!
Looking over at the window, he noticed that it was a clear sky tonight, which made his plan even better.
Taking a deep breath, the male walked over to Beomgyu's room, hesitating for a few minutes, the elder wanted to be alone... so was this a good idea?
...
Yes, it was, he can't let Beomgyu suffer anymore.
With quiet knocks, Taehyun waited for a few seconds before hearing that sweetest honey voice say "come in", which he wasted no time on.
The minute he stepped into the room, Taehyun went for Beomgyu straight away, wrapping his arms around the elder who stood silently in front of his window, closing his eyes as he melted into Taehyun's embrace.
"Hyung," Taehyun softly spoke up, placing gentle kisses onto the elders neck to let him know he was here for him. "You shouldn't be alone through this."
"There's no other choice," Beomgyu spoke up, Taehyun's knees nearly buckling since this was the first time he had heard the elders voice in hours, he could hear the evident rasp due to crying for a few hours. "It feels like my punishment, I need to be alone."
Taehyun shook his head, his heart becoming heavy hearing Beomgyu talk about himself like that. "But... that's... not the only choice. Your... your brain is just making you think that, hyung, there's so many ways you could heal but isolating shouldn't be one of them!"
Beomgyu turned around and glanced down at Taehyun, a forced smile on his face. "You don't have to worry about me—"
Taehyun suddenly interrupted Beomgyu with a choked sobbed, both of their eyes widening when the male slowly started to tear up until heavy fat tears rolled down his face, gathering at the tip of his chin before falling onto the ground and turning into small luminescent stars.
"T-Taehyun...?-"
"I know I haven't been on Earth for long, I know I can't process things like a human does, but trust me hyung..." Taehyun didn't mean to make this about himself, but it was like something had snapped in him. "It really really hurts to see you like this, not only because I love you so much, but because it just hurts that... that humans go through these things."
"It... It only hurts you more, no matter how hard you try to hide it," Taehyun covered his face as the tiny little stars floated around him, some sticking onto his hands. "So please... please let me be there for you like you were there for me."
Beomgyu stared down at the male in shock, he hadn't expected this at all, in his twisted mind, everyone around him didn't care and peacefully left him alone so he could grief. He had always thought that if he had isolated himself at his lowest, he'd come back better than ever. But after six years of being blinded by that belief, he started to realize how much it had hurt others more than it heal himself.
But now... in the moment where he stood, watching his dearest star burst into tears because of his own pain, it made his stomach twist in such a way, he was certain he would puke his guts out.
So with shaky hands, the male wrapped it around Taehyun's frame and pulled him close, his heart that had been throbbing in unforgivable pain the entire day slowly melted, releasing the locked up emotions he had kept away for days.
The two of them stood there silently, allowing themselves to heal each other as the grief and pain swirled around them like a suffocating rainstorm, hitting them with heavy raindrops, leaving the two in a daze.
It wasn't until ten minutes later, Taehyun had finally calmed down, swatting away the small crowd of stars as he took a step back and wiped away his tears, frustrated that he ended up being the one comforted.
"Are you—"
Just before Beomgyu could ask the proper question, Taehyun immediately grabbed onto the elders wrist and bolted out of the room, startling the elder as his eyes widened when he was suddenly dragged out of his room.
"Taehyun!-"
He was once again cut off when Taehyun had aggressively pulled on his wrist, bolting towards the door as he opened it, ignoring how the both of them didn't have any shoes on as they ran down the hallway of the apartment and towards the stairs.
Beomgyu had absolutely no idea what was happening right now, all of his words were jumbled up and his arm slightly in pain as Taehyun dragged him all the way up to the rooftop, the minute they made it, both of them stumbled forward and onto the ground with a loud thud.
"Ow! Taehyun!" Beomgyu glanced up and hissed in pain, his arm throbbing. "Are you okay? Seriously!"
"Your mother told you that- that when we die, we turn into stars right? But not like my type of star—"
"Uhm yes but it's not true Taehyun—"
"What if it is true?!" Taehyun interrupted him, scrambling onto his feet as he stood up, looking over at the sky. "What if... what if..."
The sky was perfectly clear, showcasing the beautiful white gleam of the full moon and the sparkling stars that shined bright around it, it was perfect.
Just what if... he could... bring Beomgyu's mother back to him one last time?
It's been a while, his powers to control the stars under his will took so much energy out of him to the point where he thought he would die, but... he's willing to fight through the pain for the human he loved so much.
So with a confident gaze, he stood up properly and clasped his hands together, closing his eyes as he whispered an incantation, hoping that it would work, that his body wouldn't give in and falter under the numbing pain.
Beomgyu sat there in shock, confused on what his star was doing. "Taehyun, what are you doing? That's enough, it's just something she said to reassure me—"
Taehyun ignored the words Beomgyu said and clasped his hands together tighter, already feeling his entire body shutting down little by little.
Just before Beomgyu could stand up and grab onto Taehyun, begging for him to stop wasting his energy.
Beomgyu suddenly froze in his steps, his breath catching in his throat. In that moment, it was like Taehyun had whispered something to the cosmos above, frozen in awe as tiny golden stars began to materialized out of thin air, more and more appearing by the second. They began to twirl around the two of them, as if they were dancing underneath the moonlight to the sound of Taehyun's pretty voice, creating a mesmerizing light. As the stars continue to gather and swirl all around them, the color began to gradually fade from that golden hue to a soft, pure white. Then, in the breathtaking moment of celestial magic, the stars began to form some sort of silhouette right next to his lover, Taehyun, who was practically glowing underneath the moonlight.
It took around three to four minutes until the stars finally formed that figure properly, underneath the iridescent moonlight, a person appeared right before him.
In that moment, Beomgyu's eyes widened as his heart dropped to his stomach, his legs immediately giving up as he fell onto his tears with full tears.
From the stars above, they had formed and brought back the figure of his mother.
Taehyun had used the stars to bring back his mother.
The male couldn't believe what he was seeing, for the first time in years, he had finally seen his mother in person again.
Her hair, as black as the night sky, caught underneath the moonlight and shimmered like a thousand tiny stars. As if the wind itself was enchanted by her presence, gently swaying her hair side to side. Her eyes, they held a world of tender emotions, forever holding that kindness and love within them. Her smile, like a ray of sunshine, made everything around her feel warm and joyful. Though, she had that radiant and pale star like complexion, just like Taehyun's.
It didn't matter if she didn't have certain features, what mattered was when Beomgyu watched his mother slowly float towards him, his heart throbbing against his chest, blinking multiple times as he couldn't possibly believe she was in front of them right now.
"My sweetest bear,"
That's when Beomgyu broke apart, the minute he heard her voice, calling him that nickname he had buried so deep within him, he had forgotten it existed. He began to burst into loud sobs as he felt cold gentle hands cup his face, his body frozen in fear as he was forced to stare into the calming eyes of his mother.
"My sweetest bear," His mother smiled softly, tears wielding up in her eyes as she admired her son's features. "How handsome have you grown, you look nearly identical to your father."
Beomgyu wanted to say something, anything, yet all the words were caught in his throat as all he could manage to get out were horrific loud sobs, grabbing onto his mother as he hugged her tightly, he didn't care if she was cold as hell and nearly a ghost like structure, he got to hold her one final time.
"I'm- I'm so sorry!" Beomgyu sobbed loudly, his voice cracking. "I wasn't able to save you, I'm sorry!"
Beomgyu's mother bit the bottom of her lip, repressing all the grief that began to build up in her. "It was never your fault, my bear, it wasn't your fault."
"You need to heal, okay?" She whispered softly, staring into his eyes. "You have to heal, I'm here now, but I've always been with you. In the stars, sparkling brightly because I'm so proud of how far you've came, how strong you've been! I may be gone, but I'll forever be here with you."
"It- It hurts... Every day."
"It hurts, I know," His mother held him tightly, glancing over at the prince of stars who began shaking, draining all his energy to keep her physically here for a short period. "But you must move on, the more your grief holds you back, the more you'll hurt."
"I'll forever be with you, okay? I'm so so proud of how strong you've been, now please, heal up okay?"
Beomgyu listened to every word carefully, his eyes fluttering closed as he nodded his head.
In that moment, he didn't feel twenty-three anymore, he felt like his thirteen year old self. Hugging his mother so tightly, reminiscing about the past where he could feel her warm skin against his own, the sound of her calming heartbeat, the reassuring words he had heard from her when he felt so alone in the world.
In that moment, he felt his mother slowly slip away, his eyes shooting open as he looked up and saw tiny little stars floating off of his mother.
"I have to go now, Beomie," His mother's voice broke, barely above a whisper. "Prince Astrophel cannot keep up anymore, he's using all of his powers for this, so please..."
"... remember, I'm always with you, no matter what."
Beomgyu stared at her with widened eyes, at first, he wanted to scream and shout and beg for her not to go, to come back into his life again and watch him grow old, make up the time they lost with each other.
But he stopped.
Instead, a gentle smile formed as his heart... so filled with guilt... so filled with anger and despair... eased up.
Leaving him to accept what had happened, instead of grieving his pain away, he nodded his head and understood that he couldn't stop time and keep someone around forever, eventually, everyone had to leave.
Keeping himself chained to the past, only made his grief build more and more, wishing on every star to experience that life where everything was happier.
But now, he knew it was okay.
"I really love you, Beomgyu."
Beomgyu's eyes widened hearing those heartwarming words from his mother, so with one last smile, he stood up.
"I love you too, mom."
With a warm smile, full of relief, his mother slowly began to fade away as all of the stars that helped form her floated away, more and more until she was fully gone, leaving a trail of stardust which all floated towards the moon, back to their spots in the sky.
In that moment, Taehyun gasped loudly, his legs wobbling as he finally regained consciousness and glanced over at Beomgyu who stood there with small tears falling from his face.
"H-Hyung!" Taehyun called out, taking a step towards the elder before his legs gave out, his entire body numb and mind hazy.
Just before his body made impact with the ground, Beomgyu swiftly caught him on time as he gently went onto his knees, laying Taehyun down slowly as the star breathed heavily, his eyes fluttering closed by the second.
"D-Did it work?" Taehyun managed to ask through his wave of exhaustion. "Did... did you...?—"
"I did," Beomgyu said, smiling warmly as his entire dark world began to lighten up. "It's all thanks to you."
"Thank you, for allowing me to see her again."
Taehyun smiled widely, proud that he had stayed strong enough to let Beomgyu see his mother one last time, given the proper reassurance and encouragement he needed to stay strong through his crumbling world.
"I'm so... happy..." Taehyun said breathlessly as his body gave out, all of his energy gone as he instantly passed out.
Beomgyu held onto his star close, staring at the males exhausted face before planting a gentle kiss onto his forehead, glancing back up at the sky as the stars seemed more brighter after what happened.
For once in his life, on this devastating day, he had never felt more happy.
So with a soft sigh, the male stood up and held Taehyun close in a bridal style, walking towards the door to bring them both inside.
Thank you, Taehyun.

Four months later, the greeting month of August arrived.
Which meant four months with his lover, the star to his universe.
Ever since Taehyun had gathered all of his energy to allow Beomgyu to see his mother once again, the two of them had never felt more close, their love for one another growing every single day.
They thought they would be okay, that nothing would break their bond again.
... until a falling star appeared.
"Have you guys heard?" Huening Kai spoke up with his mouth full of chocolate cookies, staring at his laptop like a little hyper kid. "There might be a meteor shower in two days!"
"Really?" Yeonjun's eyes widened, it was rare to get more than one meteor shower where they lived in just a few months! "Should we all watch it together?"
"We should! The last one, we didn't get to, what do you guys think?" Soobin turned to look over at the couple who was startled.
Beomgyu glanced over at Taehyun, who looked conflicted about something. "I don't mind but if Taehyun says no, we won't go."
"You're such a puppy dog!" Yeonjun groaned loudly, turning towards Taehyun as he pouted and held his hands close together, begging the male. "Please go! It'll be fun!"
Taehyun couldn't help but chuckle softly, shaking his head. "Sorry, hyung, I think I want to spend time alone with Beomgyu this time."
A loud sigh of defeat left Yeonjun's mouth, helplessly nodding his head as he went to go sadly eat his brownie.
Oh yeah! The update on Yeonjun and Soobin!
The two of them had talked about their feelings towards one another, both equally down and for one another which resulted in them taking time, going on multiple dates every week, slowly building up their intimate relationship, soon enough becoming official!
As time went by, it was finally time for the five of them to leave Miracle Café and all head back home, the sky glowing pink which sent deja vu down Beomgyu's spine, but he decided to ignore it.
"It was fun today! Let's do it again sometime when we aren't busy with assignments!" Huening Kai said, waving goodbye towards his friends as they parted from one another.
The walk back home was silent, which was a bit odd since Taehyun would be boasting about how fun it was and how irritating Yeonjun was, but right now, he was strangely quiet.
"My starlight," Beomgyu spoke up softly, ignoring the way Soobin was grumbling about being third wheel. "Are you okay?"
Taehyun glanced up at the elder, his eyes widening slightly as if Beomgyu had suddenly pulled him out of some heavy thought.
"Mhm!" The star smiled widely, nodding his head. "I'm just super excited, it'll be my first time witnessing a meteor shower than... being apart of it!"
Beomgyu nodded his head, he felt a bit foolish for thinking that there was something wrong with his starlight, so he looked away and talked with Soobin about what he could do to win Yeonjun over more.
Unaware that Taehyun's smile had dropped being replaced with a saddened frown.
Two days had passed by in a flash, which meant the night of the meteor shower was finally here, which left everyone feeling both anxious and excited.
Both Taehyun and Beomgyu decided that they would spend the special night alone together, but of course, they didn't leave their friends out of their plans. Soobin, Yeonjun, and Huening Kai all in the living room to watch from the balcony.
However, Taehyun had different plans, he wants to watch it from the rooftop, which wasn't a big deal.
But what really made Beomgyu a bit concerned was the way Taehyun was acting, locking himself inside of the room as he talked to Astra about something he couldn't understand since it was in Estellian language.
However, Beomgyu didn't bother asking, it seemed like Taehyun didn't want to talk about it either.
So then came the hour, thirty minutes before the meteor shower was said to start, just like the first time... the sky was filled with that light blue and pink sparkly aurora, dancing beautifully against one another.
"Make sure to come inside soon right away after! It's freezing!" Yeonjun called out, glaring at the couple who smiled cheekily.
"No promises."
As both Beomgyu and Taehyun left the apartment, the two of them silently walked down the hallway and up the stairs, neither of them dared to say anything as there was something obviously wrong with Taehyun.
The minute they arrived at the rooftop, Beomgyu couldn't help but feel... anxious about something. There was something wrong with his star, he wasn't sparkling as usual, and right on cue... he made Astra sparkle him back to his original form.
"Taehyun," Beomgyu called out, gently grabbing his lovers hand, staring at him with worry. "You seem upset, do you want to talk about it?"
Taehyun glanced at Beomgyu, a tight smile forming as he shook his head, Astra floating next to him. "Everything is fine, I'm just nervous, remember I literally crash landed into your life?"
"I'm happy you did," Beomgyu stepped forward and placed a soft kiss onto his lips. "You've made my life better."
Taehyun smiled softly, a light hue of pink flushing across his face as he lifted his head up, basically asking for another kiss as Beomgyu happily complied, leaning in and capturing his lovers lips onto his.
They stood there, kissing one another passionately before pulling away after five minutes, both of them staring into each others eyes that sparkled with stars.
"Ah! I want to show you something!" Taehyun spoke up, his eyes widening as he backed up from Beomgyu and immediately clasped his hands together.
Just as Beomgyu was about to ask what on earth Taehyun was doing, his eyes widened as he froze when small stars began to form in Taehyun's hand, as if the night sky had descended upon it. They were tinky, twinkling stars, just like the stars he saw when Taehyun had made his mother appear out of stars. They danced along in a swirling motion, coming together to create something Beomgyu would say was extraordinary. It was a crystal in the delicate shape of a water lily, its petals, glistening underneath the moonlight with an otherworldly glow.
Beomgyu stood there absolutely stunned as Taehyun breathed out heavily, his eyes opening as he glanced down at the crystal flower, his lips breaking into a wide smile as he looked back up at the elder and stepped forward.
"This is for you!"
Beomgyu was hesitant at first, but after receiving a reassuring smile from Taehyun, he stepped forward and was carefully given the crystal flower, his eyes shining in adoration he saw it glow a pale pink underneath the moonlight.
ex :
"Wh-What is this?"
"Wh-What is this?" Beomgyu asked him stunned.
"A crystal flower made out of cosmic dusts and crystals!" Taehyun said proudly, his eyes glinting with excitement to see how wonderful it was! "It's a gift, from me to you, it's..."
"It.. it glows when I'm near, so you'll know I'll forever be with you."
Beomgyu was a bit confused on what Taehyun meant by that, just before he could ask, a streak of light had fallen in the corner of his eye, causing him to look up as his eyes widened, seeing the meteor shower appear.
It was just like the last time, but instead of being alone, he had Taehyun with him.
With a small smile, Beomgyu admired the cosmos above that sent down so many beautiful meteors, enjoying this peaceful moment.
"Taehyun! Are you enjoying this?" Beomgyu asked the male, his eyes fixated on the meteors above, but after waiting a few seconds, he didn't get any answers. "Taehyun?—"
The moment Beomgyu turned his head towards his star, his heart dropped as his entire world froze, seeing his precious star... fading... away...?
"Taehyun...?"
"I'm so sorry," Taehyun's voice trembled, staring down at his own shaky hands as small tears began to fall from his face. "I-I'm so sorry—"
"Choi Beomgyu,"
A voice suddenly called out for Beomgyu's causing him to snap his head over towards his side as his eyes widened seeing a bright pink star floating next to him.
"I am Queen Serenity," The pink star said, causing Beomgyu's eyes to widen even more. "I am also Prince Astrophel's mother."
"M-Mother...?" Beomgyu's voice trembled with fear as he watched the pink star slowly float towards Taehyun, the male frozen as he stared at Beomgyu with a heartbroken expression.
"Yes," Queen Serenity said. "I thank you for your hard work and efforts for protecting my dearest son, it has been a hard time in Estelle fighting for our kingdom... however..."
"... we have won the war, which means it's time for Astrophel to come home."
Beomgyu's legs immediately gave out as he dropped onto his knees, staring at Taehyun who was fading more and more away by the second, his beautiful figure becoming translucent.
No.
no.
this can't be happening
this isn't true
he can't leave
it's not fair.
"B-Beomgyu hyung," Taehyun's voice broke him out of his trance, unaware that he was slowly beginning to have a panic attack. "Please don't cry! Please don't... you know I'll always—"
"No!" Beomgyu raised his voice loudly, his eyes stinging with tears that threatened to fall. "You can't leave me! I don't care how selfish I sound, you can't leave me too, Taehyun!"
Taehyun nearly broke into a heavy sob witnessing his lover break by the second, his shaky legs walking towards the elder as he stood in front of him, leaning down as he cupped Beomgyu's cheeks.
"Please," Beomgyu whispered underneath his breath, his voice cracking. "Please don't leave me, you... you can't leave... you're my happiness..."
Beomgyu gripped onto Taehyun's wrists tightly, begging for the male to stay. The wall he had built, every single brick filled with happy memories, began to crash down again. Releasing that similar wave of grief, similar to the one he experienced on the day he had lost his mother, but now it was Taehyun who was leaving.
The star who had suddenly crash landed into his life
The star who he had tended and cared, protected, for months
the star who he fell in love with, stolen his precious fragile heart
was leaving.
A heartbroken sob left Beomgyu's mouth as he cried loudly, shaking his head as he witnessed Taehyun fade more and more away, barely visible if he wasn't in the direct moonlight.
"I wished on a star, Taehyun!" Beomgyu cried out, begging the male to stay, only watching the male tremble. "I wished on a star to be happier, that this empty void in my heart will go away, and you did that! You're my healing, Taehyun, you're the one that made my miserable life so much brighter!"
"Astrophel has duties to attend in his kingdom."
Taehyun glanced over at his mother before looking back at Beomgyu, his breathing becoming heavy as he knew he barely had enough time left. "It was the deal, you protect me and the moment my kingdom was safe, I go back home."
Beomgyu shook his head, he wanted to be selfish, to capture the star and keep him all to himself.
But he couldn't, all he did was kneel there pathetically.
"I'm so sorry," Taehyun whispered softly, leaning forward as he tried to wipe the tears off of Beomgyu's face. "I-I'm so- I-I'm so sorry hyung! I want to stay but I can't."
"You taught me so much, you taught me how humans live their life... how life on Earth is so different yet so.. so fun... you made it better." Taehyun paused as he felt a sob choke up in his throat, large stars floating around them as his tears rolled down his face. "You..."
"...you taught me how to love, and you'll forever be my first and only love."
"but.. now i have to go..." Taehyun's voice broke by the second, his legs giving up as he feel down in front of Beomgyu. "so please..."
"Remember me and love me for eternity, as I will for you."
Taehyun's eyes fluttered closed as he leaned forward and pressed a longing kiss onto Beomgyu who desperately kissed back, holding onto the male as he felt Taehyun faded more and more away.
until he was fully gone.
The minute Beomgyu didn't feel the male in his hold anymore and those gentle lips on his, his eyes shot open as he looked around immediately, his heart breaking by the second when he didn't see Queen Serenity's star or Astra.
he didn't see Taehyun.
"No," Beomgyu whispered softly, his body shutting down as more tears began to fall. "No- no no no no no NO-"
"TAEHYUN!" Beomgyu screamed loudly, a heartbreaking screech leaving his mouth as he collapsed onto the ground, sobbing loudly as the star was no where to be seen. "COME BACK PLEASE! TAEHYUN!"
Beomgyu sat there, screaming his lungs out as he desperately wished for his star to come back and embrace him, but instead he was met with nothing.
His heart began to crumble little by little, each piece leaving behind a trail of dust before exploding into nothing. Leaving behind an empty void.
Beomgyu stayed there, screaming for god who knows how long for Taehyun to come back, grabbing onto his hair as he angrily slammed his fist against the ground, wishing on every star to bring back his lover.
It wasn't until he was forced to stop when his throat went dry, he was barely able to force a word out as his words were now raspy, small whispers mixed with sobs was only heard as he begged for Taehyun back.
it never happened.
Slowly sitting up, the males throat burned and his head throbbed with pain, slowly glancing over at the crystal water lily that Taehyun left behind.
So without another word, the male slowly stood up and took ahold of the water lily, keeping it secure next to his chest as he walked back inside.
without his precious starlight.
₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆
Two years.
It had been two entire years since Taehyun had left Beomgyu.
Within those two years, was a mental struggle for Beomgyu.
He didn't know whether he should give up everything or keep being strong, the way his mother wanted him to.
but... how... could he be strong... when he had lost someone so precious to him again?
From the day Taehyun left Beomgyu, the male couldn't focus right, his room becoming that lonely, dark, cold, environment again without his starlight. His heart, back to being empty.
On the night when Taehyun had left, Beomgyu had to explain to his friends that the male who captured his heart was actually a star he had to protect. A star that stole his heart and left.
Let's say, that night was a full on sob fest for the rest of them.
Adjusting to the change was miserable for Beomgyu, instead of waking up with someone in his arms, smiling widely and pressing soft fluttery kisses onto his skin, he was met with nothing but cold air.
Instead of making breakfast for three, he was back to making breakfast for two, maybe even one sometimes.
Instead of coming home from school with an excited little star telling him about his day, he came home to silence, walked to work in silence, mourned in silence.
two years...
two years and he wasn't over his lover one bit.
It wasn't fair, why did the cosmos have to make him meet someone so... so pure and beautiful yet take him away so fast? Just as he was beginning to feel happier, it all came crashing down once Taehyun had to leave.
He was starting to forget the sound of the males precious voice.
As badly as Beomgyu wanted to give up on life, he couldn't. Not when there were constant reminders from both his mother and Taehyun, as if their invisible hands were on his back pushing him towards the light, to be successful.
So he listened to those voices.
In two years time, he had drastically changed yet became successful as he officially finished his first week as a proper astronomer, still figuring out any ways to find a new planet.
It really did hurt, the void in his heart was so heavy he could barely keep up with work sometimes, but he pulled through knowing that not only would it make his mother proud, but also Taehyun.
But sometimes.. he would find himself locked up in his room, staring at the crystal water lily that Taehyun had gifted him moments before he faded away and out of his grasp, staring at it as he wished for it to bring Taehyun back.
But like Taehyun said, it emits a warm presence, like the one the male had... so he guesses his star was right, keeping it around would make him feel like he was with him everyday.
Beomgyu sighed heavily, stripping off his shirt as he changed into some comfortable pajama pants before falling onto his bed, his body melting into the sheets as he felt another wave of sadness hit him, yet no tears, he had no more left to cry.
So with an empty heart, he had fallen asleep.
When Beomgyu woke up the next morning, his entire world was miserable, as it was the two year anniversary. The anniversary of when Taehyun had left him.
With groggy eyes, the male slowly sat up, conflicted on whether he should stay home and rot in bed the entire day, sob over the fact he had lost his lover or go hang out with his friends.
He chose to stay home.
"Are you sure you'll be okay?" Soobin tilted his head as he watched Beomgyu sit on the couch, empty. "You know we can... we can come over and stay, we can hang out here."
"It's okay," Beomgyu's voice was weak, his light gone. "Just go, i'm pretty sure Yeonjun is waiting for that proposal."
Despite Soobin's face flushing red, he pursed his lips and approached the male, sitting down next to him as he gave him an awkward side hug.
"I know... it hurts," Soobin whispered softly, it hurt seeing his best friend go through such grief once again. "But... don't you think... that Taehyun would want you to go and have fun...?"
"I just want one day alone, please."
Soobin frowned, he has given Beomgyu so many days to be alone, he really didn't want to leave his best friend alone again. He wanted to bring him outside to hang out with his friends, but after seeing how the male wouldn't budge, he had no choice.
"Call me if you need anything, I'll bring the others by later."
Beomgyu nodded his head as Soobin got up from the couch and ruffled the males hair before walking away and out of the apartment.
In that moment of loneliness, Beomgyu sank into the couch as he closed his eyes, replaying faint memories of the time he spent with Taehyun through his mind.
There wasn't a day that went by where he wouldn't think of him.
He missed him so much, he wished on every star to bring him back, but of course... not all his wishes were granted.
The bitter feeling of loneliness and heartbreak flooded his senses again, he missed the embrace of his star, the faint nostalgic feeling of his lips on his, those nights where they... craved for more... from one another.
He missed the feeling of Taehyun's body on his hand.
With a stinging heart, Beomgyu got up from the couch and walked back into his room, already planning to stay inside and sleep the entire day.
The moment he walked into the room, the male walked towards his window and stared out of it, just admiring the city underneath the morning sun as he blurred out everything around him.
completely unaware of how his crystal water lily began to glow.
The male stood there silently before hearing the door to the apartment open then close, confusion clouding his mind but ignored it since it might've been Soobin who had forgotten something again, so he stayed in his room and sighed softly, missing his star.
It's been two years, two entire years, he hadn't move on one bit.
A soft knock echoed out on his door, causing the male to flinch but he didn't bother to answer, he knew Soobin knew that he wanted to be alone.
It wasn't until the male knocked again, causing Beomgyu to growl underneath his breath.
"Goddamnit Soobin! Leave me alone!"
The door opened softly, causing Beomgyu to groan even louder as he turned around. "Fuck off!—"
oh
Beomgyu suddenly paused, his entire shattered and crumbling world pausing as he met eyes with... with those... dark brown ones...?
His heart dropped, seeing a warm yet longing smile grow on the males face, his hands trembling as... as he... stared at...
"...Taehyun...?"
The star stood there in the door way, his hands trembling as he covered his mouth.
Taehyun looked different, he looked more mature and grown, yet... instead of his beautiful pink hair and pink/blue eyes, it was replaced with brown hair and dark brown color. His glittery translucent skin was gone and replaced with that honey tan like one.
But Taehyun's appearance didn't matter to Beomgyu, what mattered was that... he was... standing there...
The two of them stared at each other, tears wielding in their eyes as none of them dared to step forward, shaking slightly as Beomgyu tried to grasp whether it was reality or a dream he was experiencing.
It wasn't until Taehyun had spoken up, finally breaking his world.
"My- My Beomgyu hyung!" Taehyun spoke softly, that sweet voice melting Beomgyu's heart. "Didn't I tell you to take care of yourself?"
That's when Beomgyu broke right away, repressed tears that never fell down his face began to fall, immediately sobbing as he threw himself towards Taehyun who immediately wrapped his arms around him.
Beomgyu couldn't help but grip tightly onto Taehyun, his eyes widening when he realized how warm he was, but that didn't matter.
"A-Are you real?! You're back!? Taehyun!" Beomgyu sobbed loudly as he held the male closer, squeezing the living daylight out of him.
He was so afraid that if he let go, his star would leave him again.
It was so unrealistic, he couldn't believe that he was finally hugging his lover that he had lost two years ago again.
"Y-Yes hyung," Taehyun's voice trembled as tears began to roll down his face, holding Beomgyu tightly as he inhaled the elders scent again, a scent he missed for so long. "I'm back."
Beomgyu sobbed louder as he looked up and pulled Taehyun into a deep kiss, hissing softly as their teeth clashed against one another before melting into that pleasurable feeling.
It had been so so long... so long, since he felt this warmth on his lips.
It was like his body went on autopilot, deepening the kiss as much as he could as he pulled Taehyun closer, the two of them falling onto the floor as neither one wanted to let go.
Beomgyu felt like it was a dream he was in, there was no way that... for so long... for two years, his Taehyun came back.
But the moment they both pulled away from one another, Beomgyu staring up at Taehyun with hooded eyes filled with tears, realizing that the male hadn't faded away one bit, he broke out into another fit of sobs.
"How- how did you- come back- I-I-"
"Hyung," Taehyun whispered softly, wiping his tears as he tried to calm Beomgyu down. "I... I missed you so much- It's been so hard."
Beomgyu's eyes widened when he felt a gentle hand cup his cheek, his body instinctively leaning into the touch as he stared into Taehyun's eyes
"You're as beautiful as the day I lost you."
That's when Beomgyu's world broke, waves of grief and longing pain washed over him as he grabbed onto Taehyun tightly and hugged him tight.
"There was never a day where my love for you faded," Beomgyu spoke up, holding onto him tightly. "I-I... I couldn't bear to love anyone else, you said I'm your first and only love, you were my first and last love."
Both boys broke into sobs, in two years, they had lost so much time together, but now they were back, holding onto one another desperately, refusing to let go.
"It was so lonely and miserable on Estella," Taehyun whispered softly, burying his face into the crook of Beomgyu's neck. "It... life... was so miserable without you."
"But I had a kingdom to run, no matter how badly I wanted to come back I couldn't... the pain became so unbearable I thought I would die! You stole my heart, my precious heart... so that's why... after long consideration and constant begging."
"I traded my cosmic immortality and high status to be with you."
Beomgyu's eyes widened hearing that, immediately sitting up which brought Taehyun to sit on his knees, staring at the elder in shock.
"That's- wait! Does that mean- you- you became—"
".. a human." Taehyun smiled softly, caressing Beomgyu's face. "I became a human for you."
Beomgyu stared at the male in shock before bursting out into another fit of tears, snaking his hand onto the back of Taehyun's neck as he forced the male down and slammed his lips against his, which was easily given back.
For so long, so so long, the constant loneliness and yearning for one another faded. Their broken hearts intertwining together and healing the broken pieces that were left behind, finally feeling full and complete as the two of them held each other closely.
The stars always find their way back to the moon, even on the cloudiest nights.
Taehyun, found his way back home, to Beomgyu.
"I love you," Beomgyu gasped softly, breaking away from the kiss. Those three words feeling so foreign yet so right on his tongue. "I love you for eternity!"
"I love you more, I love you so much hyung!"
The two of them dove in for another kiss, ignoring the broken world around them as it slowly began to heal, now that they had one another.
It would take a while for the two of them to fully heal, their past pains still tormenting them from afar, but just like the first time they met..
They'll both heal each other once again overtime.
The star that crash landed into Beomgyu's world had found his way back, forever staying with him until the end of time, until the stars die out.
And he was determined to not lose him again.
For him and his stardust lover, their love for one another, would burn like an endless flame in eternity.
Forever and always, they'll heal one another once again.
