I hear the normal drone of a plane as I type a sales report on my computer. I decide to check the time in case my break was going to miraculously save me from working. I glance in the corner of the screen where the small digital clock was. It read 8:45. I sigh and continue typing my report. The drone gets louder until the irritating noise fills my eardrums. Screams arise in the quiet office. A large noise shakes our building as a blinding light blocks my vision. My ears ring as smoke plumes into the sky next to our building, the South Tower. Throughout the screams, I manage to pick out one chilling phrase. "The North Tower has been struck!" It was a normal day in New York City on September eleventh, 2001. There was no warning about the terrorist attack on the twin towers, which made it an even more lethal attack. When Daniel Thorton entered the South Tower at 8:30, he had no idea that the attacks would be targeted on both of the towers. The first plane, United Airlines Flight 175, hit the North Tower at 8:46 a.m. During the evacuation of both towers, a second plane hits the second tower with Daniel and many others still inside. To escape , Daniel must make many decisions that will scar him for life.…
