Grimaldi's Academy for the Curious and Gifted
Andrew Hewitt, a sixteen-year-old teenager, has a secret. He has a Gift, and since he was a child, Andrew has been taking pleasure in exploring the world around him through this Gift-a simple touch with his eager hand will release long histories, secrets, and even feelings of his subjects. But on the night of his seventh birthday, Andrew finds out a darker side to this special talent of his. Since that fateful night, Andrew decides that he will not touch another living human again. Yet an offer to enroll in an obscure school Andrew has never heard of before-Grimaldi's Academy for the Curious and Gifted-moves Andrew to leave his comfort zone, seeing a chance to liberate himself from the wall he has built around him for so long. In the academy, Andrew learns about the existence of the Curious and Gifted, made up of teenagers with special abilities, separated by their intentions and the nature of their talents. He finds a new, exciting life in the academy, making friends; friends who Andrew discovers also harbor misgivings and insecurity from their own Gifts. What Andrew and his friends do not know is that there lurks someone-or maybe more than just someone-that wishes to overthrow the peaceful atmosphere that has been successfully maintained by the first Grimaldi principal, uniting Curious and Gifted students alike under one fair, educational establishment. Andrew teams up with the others to defend Grimaldi's Academy from crumbling, in which time they discover another long-forgotten secret within the school that will eventually help them to fight, and also to learn about the simple yet potent values of friendship and love.TW : Mental health issues & self-harm (making only a small part of the story but still, I think putting this in advance would be wise)(A big, appreciative shoutout to @Wyllad, who made the most gorgeous book cover I could ever have hoped for!! ༼☯﹏☯༽ )…
