A prison built into the future where the planet has been dead for thousands of years, an undercover cop is made by the gang he infiltrated, scientists who try to build the ultimate spaceship in order to save humanity, all of these and more to come are part of this short story collection. I bit off a lot when I tackled Art of Destruction and recently started the sequel "The Spire" and am having a hard time. So, instead of setting down my pen and paper and giving up, I've decided to try something new; short stories. I'm not going to be pounding these out by any means but it's helped me stay in writing without giving me block. Humanity. It goes beyond the common definition of: "a collective group of humans". It's a sense of benevolence. One may act; 'for the sake of humanity' and there are; 'crimes against humanity'. We're supposed to be proud of the human race, yet... humans are self-destructive. A group of elite alien race came to Earth and proved once and for all that we were our own worst enemy. They weren't wrong. but it was too late. They managed to save Earth- eradicating pollution and reversing global warming but they killed anyone who got in their way and indoctrinated the rest. Those who remained revolted. World War III resulted- killing the planet. The War ended but the battle was not won. The fight continues on, despite the destroyed society and Earth we call home. It's a relentless fight between those who want the world to go back to the way it was and those who still fight to hold on to their humanity- no matter what. We self-destruct but we also fight for what's right. It's a delicate balance- it's an art form.
