I got up quietly and tiptoed to the door, throwing on my red riding cape. A gust of freezing cold air smacked me in the face, blowing my brown strands of hair about. "Hello?" I called out into the night, my accent swirling around with the snow. A growl answered my call, scaring the wits out if me. I gasped and watched as a handsome black wolf stalked into my view. I hadn't tied the strings on my cape, so with the next gust of wind it flew out the door. I reached after it, but lost my footing and toppled into the cold, wet snow. Brushing the fine powder out of my eyes, I looked up to see the wolf watching me with curious eyes. "Are you lost?" I asked it. In the next moment, my wide blue eyes meet the eyes of a man. He speaks," No. I've found what I was looking for."\:/:\:/My mom hands me an old, worn book. "Rylie, your grandmother sent this in the mail. It's your great-great grandmother's diary."I open to the first page. I've heard falling in love feels like getting hit by a truck. From experience, I can tell you it's actually equivalent to being shot in the stomach. He was the president's son, and I didn't want anything to do with him. Everyone had looked at the gossip magazines, seen the millions of pictures, read the articles, and America was obsessed with Sam Evans. I mean, who wouldn't fall for his great hair, or his perfect smile? Or his deep green eyes. I, on the other hand, hated his guts. I was the socially awkward teenage girl who always had her nose in a book. Freckles covered ever inch of my body, and my blonde hair laid in wild and unruly curls. I despised Sam Evans for his attitude, lack of compassion, and basically everything about him, but that all changed when I took a bullet to save his life. All I could think about was him dying, the boy I hated yet hardly knew anything about, and the next thing I knew I was laying on the floor bleeding out while he held my hand and told me to hang on. Why did I always get myself into these kinds of situation?…
My shoes are soaked all the way to the socks, and I feel numb, almost to the point of falling over, like when you're not sure if you have any body parts left to control. My exhausted legs keep trudging on because they know their destination is near. The town should be just beyond the crest of the hill in front of me. I've, been walking for a while, but I think I can go a little farther. I follow the road until I reach the outskirts of the tiny town. A sign along the road reads: Wolfgang Hollow, Indiana That's where I meet HIM. Sebastian Grey. I can't stand him, with his stupid hair that pops back perfectly in place no matter what he does, his chocolate eyes that hold so many secrets, and his muscles that seem to appear out of no where because, let's be honest, he never works out. At least I've never seen him work out. He has this smirk plastered to his face all the time, as if he knows what I'm thinking, but there's something odd about him. He's a werewolf. I try running... that doesn't work. I try being with him... that sort of works. He tells me that being an Alpha's mate could attract negative attention. He's definitely right about that. His evil sister, Genevieve, has already tried to kill me. The real question is......... Can I survive this? I guess we'll have see where fate takes me with my Alpha werewolf.…
