Fresh into her last semester of high school, Len is looking forward to three things: spending time with her recent close-friend-turned-girlfriend, completing a summer road trip with her brother Brendon, and finally, getting the hell out of her hometown, to an out-of-state college where she'll be able to reinvent herself as whoever she would be if her Catholic mom wasn't always breathing down her neck. But then Brendon commits suicide, leaving behind a cell phone with a series of messages meant for Len alone. To unlock the messages, and find whatever Brendon wanted her to find, Len must confront painful memories - and painful truths about herself. *DO NOT READ if you are triggered by suicide or suicidal ideation*(This is a very very very rough draft.)…

What Heroes Don't Think About

Didi was born to a villain who taught her to seek power above all, but raised by books that taught her about more important things: friendship, justice, and pretty boys. When she and her brother Dominic run away from their mother and her cult, Didi sees it as her chance to be the hero she always wanted to be. But the road to heroism is neither well-lit nor smoothly-paved. And in real life, it's a lot harder than in books to discern between right and wrong, and friends and foes.Sometimes it seems that being a hero means there are some things she has to just not think about. Like, her employer having an underground torture chamber. And her brother, her closest confidant, suddenly lying to her face all the time. And how she still has seven younger siblings at the mercy of her mother, and absolutely no idea how to save them.An open fanfiction set in the world of the Forgotten Realms. Updates twice a month.…
