Alexander the Great is becoming a god...or at least, that's what he believes. But things are not all as they seem, and Alexander may live (or, rather, die) to regret his wish for immortality. This story is my first ever fanfiction piece, and an entry in @SarahBensonBooks' 'Born of Shadows' fanfic contest. The story should stand on its own if you haven't read BoS, but if you haven't read it, you're really missing out. A potter struggles to create beauty in a world of darkness, and his daughter tries to understand why. Sometimes, it not enough to just survive, and other times, survival is all there is.More than once in college, I had to write a paper on Nietzsche. And every time, I found myself responding to his works not with an academic paper, but with a story. This was an actual paper that I turned into a (thankfully) very understanding professor.
