The story 'The Zeroth Patient' has been honourably mentioned by @WattpadShortStory in their Imagine Contest results.Maya Krishnamurthy is someone who can travel through time. In some stories, she has a time-travel gene. In some, she uses a time machine or an object. And, in some, she can just drift off, without any means. Also, in few stories, she wouldn't be the one travelling though time, but things around her would change.These are some of my time-travel shorts that are written for contests, featuring the central character Maya Krishnamurthy. The stories have no connection between them. Also, Maya's character might be different in each story. In the village of Sahayatipura, there lives a rich merchant with a sorrowful past and a terrible present. His second wife Ragini and his stepdaughters Sangamithra and Pradhayini taunt and torture his own daughter Anamika. Yuvaraj, a trader from the village reaches the modern city of Jaipur and brings in secrets of modernization. Soon, the Panchayat head Kishan Kapoor modernizes the entire village. Thus begins the evolution of the Internet and Smartphones in the village of illiterates. It happens that the prince of Jaipur, named Kanha Sesh Rajput, desires to get married. So, he conducts a lavish party in his Suryavanshi Palace, where he invites girls from the city and also from nearby villages. Sangamithra and Pradhayini are excited at the news and begin to treat their stepsister Anamika in the most torturous way. The latter being a modest girl gives in to their wishes, though she secretly pines to attend the party. On the day of the party, Ragini, Sangamithra, and Pradhayini lock Anamika in her room and drive away to attend the party. But help comes in the form of Anamika's neighbor Rajalaxmi. Will Anamika attend the party? Will she win Kanha Sesh Rajput's heart? Will she banish the villainous Kishan Kapoor from Sahayatipura for burning her mom alive? Will Ragini, Sangamithra, and Pradhayini repent their evil ways?…
