Everyone is granted a knife when they are born. None know where they come from, but the knives always appear. And the knives are spectacular. Each are special, as each are unique to their owner. Their designs match like a foot to a shoe; perfect and nothing else could work better. The knives, they just don't want to be regular knives though. All have powers or abilities. These, while not all unique, are amazing just the same. Some give their users magic, like summoning fire. Others allow for extensive use, like a chain for grappling or extended handle for farther reach. A war has been waged on the empire of Xaven. Demons from another realm and time long since gone are invading, seeking to end what the humans have created. A dark and terrible war, the end is no where in sight. Kath just wants to run. He has no desire to fight in any war, or go to the school where they train those to wield their knives to their greatest potential. For he has a problem: His knife does nothing. And once he graduates, they'll send him to fight, where he will most certainly die. Kath must decide now, either to flee, and be a coward. Or fight, and die a petty death.…
