Running. That was all he could do, was run. Past the rooms he had spent his entire life in. Up the winding staircase he went, nearly falling backward toward the the danger below. He kept going, all the way to the balcony on the roof, where he stopped. There was nowhere to run. Nowhere to hide. And then she came, bursting through the door.
