15. The Parasitic Twin

"I forgot to tell you something." Zeke said as they walked hand and hand to baggage claim.

"What?"

"Please don't hate me." He kissed their linked hands.

"What did you do?"

As Zeke and Talia turned the corner to pick up their bags Talia saw a giant poster being held by a tall muscular guy wearing a too tight t-shirt and dirty jeans. Scrawled on the poster were the words she was going to have etched on her brother's grave.

WELCOME HOME, TALLY!

SORRY PORN DIDN'T WORK OUT FOR YOU!

GLAD YOU GOT THE HELP YOU NEEDED IN REHAB FOR THE FIFTH TIME!

"You asked Rex to pick us up?"

Zeke bit his lip trying not to laugh at the poster. When Rex saw the poster had gotten their attention, and many others around them, he flipped it over.

WELCOME HOME, ZEKE!

I GOT THAT MEDICATION FOR YOUR STD!

HOPEFULLY THE SORES ARE NO LONGER LEAKING!

"I'm seeing my mistake now." Zeke said.

"I bet you are."

Rex strode over to Zeke and Talia. He dropped the poster and opened his arms wide. Talia walked up to give him a hug, but landed a swift punch to his nuts. Air whooshed out of his lungs. Rex collapsed on the ground. Fellow passengers walked around him. The granny from the plane caught my eye and gave me a thumbs up.

"Hello, Rex." Talia stood with her hands on her hips watching her brother struggle.

"I'm....telling...mama."

"Go ahead. Then I'm going to show her the poster you made."

"Fine." Rex managed to get off the ground.

"Thanks for picking us up, ass wipe." Zeke said.

"No problem. How could I strand my best friend and sister at the airport? Especially when they are now seeing each other." Rex looked at them skeptically.

"What car did you bring?" Talia changed the subject before questions could be asked.

"The pick-up."

"What? Why didn't you bring mama's SUV?"

"Why would I? My pick-up is fine."

"It's a bench seat. "

Rex smirked at her. "Yep. We will be getting real close for the next hour."

"Hour? It takes close to an hour and a half to get to Grandin. How fast do you plan on going?" Talia stopped and looked to her brother.

"You didn't tell her?" Rex asked.

"I didn't have a chance. We had a bit of an issue on the plane."

"What happened?"

"Never mind that tell me what is going on." Talia stared at Zeke.

"We are going to go to my farm. It's a half hour outside of Grandin."

Talia glared at both of the men in front of her. Turning on her heel she grabbed her bag and marched off toward the short term parking. She easily found his beat up truck. Slinging her bag into the bed she stood next to the passenger door.

"In a hurry to get to your love nest, Tally?" Rex asked.

Talia ground her jaw as she stared at her skeptical twin. When Zeke's arm wound around her waist, pulled her close and kissed her temple Rex groaned and wrenched the door open.

Talia turned toward Zeke and whispered, "That isn't necessary."

He gazed down at her. "Of course it is. Everyone has to believe."

Zeke leaned forward softly pressing his lips to hers. His hand flexed on her waist pulling her closer. Her body leaned into his touch involuntarily.

"Are you to going to stand out there all day?" Rex yelled from the window.

"You really are the worst friend." Zeke said opening the door.

"Says the guy who was kissing my sister. Tally, you need to sit between us." Rex grumbled.

"Fine." Talia climbed into the truck sitting on the hump. She had to sit at an uncomfortable angle to avoid the stick shift between her legs.

Zeke jumped into the truck and tapped the dash signaling Rex to go. Rex grumbled under his breath. Pulling away a bit too quickly Talia flew into Zeke. He wrapped his arms around her to prevent her from landing in his lap.

"Ugh! Do you have to man handle my sister like that?"

"If you didn't drive like a maniac I wouldn't have been thrown into his lap." Talia spat.

"You can stay here, baby." Zeke smirked.

Rex and Talia looked at him with twin grimaces. He couldn't help the laugh that escaped. When he laughed they turned to each other with the same face. A very unsexy snort burst from him as he continued to look at them

"What?" They said in unison.

Zeke bent over laughing even harder. Tears streamed down his face as Rex and Talia continued to scrunch there faces identically.

He finally caught his breath and said, "I sometimes forget you two are twins."

"Idiot." They said together. This time they looked at each other. Talia's lips thinned as she strained to hold in her giggle.

Rex and Talia laughed together as the truck barreled down the highway. The once tense atmosphere of the truck now broken.

***

"Wow." Talia stood wide eyed.

"Do you like it?" Zeke dropped their bags next to them.

"I would never have thought you'd have something like this."

"He's always had this. There are just a few improvements to it now." Rex said joining them staring at the house.

"What do you mean?" She asked.

Before Zeke could answer Rex jumped in. "This was his grandfather's property. We used to come here when we were younger."

"This is the place you went camping, hiking and riding horses almost all summer and most weekends when you two were teens?"

"Well, sort of. It was a bit more run down back then." Zeke said walking toward the house.

"A bit? You basically tore down the house and barn." Rex said.

"Wow. I'm even more jealous now that you two got to enjoy this without me." Talia moved to join Zeke when Rex grabbed her arm.

"Let me talk to you for a minute." He pulled her to the back of the truck.

"Alright. What do you want runt?"

Rex rolled his eyes at her nickname. "What is really going on here, Tally?"

"What does it look like?"

"It looks like my sister who has hated my best friend since first grade is now dating him and living with him."

Talia nodded. "Yep. That's about right."

"I call Bullshit. There is no way you'd just up and change your mind about him."

"I'm a woman. I change my mind all the time. You'd probably know that if you ever dated."

Rex sighed. "Look convince me your feelings have truly changed about Zeke and I will leave this alone."

Talia closed her eyes. "Zeke is really a great guy. Zee Jaxon not so much. But, Zeke is kind, sweet, funny and despite his dumbasserie quite smart."

"Uh huh."

"No. Really." The look on Rex's face told her he was ready to run to her mama ratting them out. "Ok. I will tell you about the moment I realized my feelings changed for him." Rex made the get on with it sign. Talia took a deep breath. "I saw how he interacted with his littlest of fans. He plays along with them as if he is that character. A change comes over him. He is no longer that egotistical teenager or that arrogant movie star. He has become someone I could see being with." Talia sighed again.

Rex stared slack jawed at her. Once he pulled his wits together, he said, "I never thought I'd hear those words come out of your mouth. It's got to be the truth. You've never been a good liar."

"I am a great liar when I need to be."

Rex laughed a little too loudly. "Yeah right. I need to get going. Call me if you need anything or I need to kick some super star ass."

Zeke's arms slid around her pulling her close. "That won't be necessary. Now, get your ass out of here so I can do naughty things with your sister.

Rex made a gagging sound as he pulled out of sight driving down the road.

"You can let go now. He can't see us anymore." Instead of letting go Zeke pulled her closer and ran his nose along her neck.

"It doesn't have to be a lie." He breathed.

"What?" He was getting dangerously close to one of her instant weak in the knees spots.

"We could do naughty things." He lightly kissed her neck.

The wicked dream she had of Zeke flooded back. His hands on her. The feeling of his lips on her nipples. Her core began to get very wet. Her lady bits were ready to jump this sexy star and find out if movie stars did it better.

Just as Talia was ready to relent, the tight arms slackened. A small moan escaped her from the loss of contact. Zeke chuckled. "Don't worry, Talia. I was just messing with you."

Relief mixed with disappointment flooded through her. "Good." She said breathlessly.

"If you ever want it, Lia, all you need to do is ask." Zeke walked back into the house.

Talia needed a coldshower.
