//Keith's POV unless otherwise specified.//

"Wait!" Keith's eyebrows perked up. "I have an idea, turn on your communication device in your helmet."
"Fine," Lance said. "I hate to admit it, but I wish I came up with that first."
"He's so honest," Keith's pesky thoughts infiltrated his mind again. "Not that it means anything, I'm just shocked that someone as arrogant as him can admit he couldn't point out the obvious."
Lance tried to reach to the side of his helmet, but he couldn't twist his arms to switch it on.
"Hey man, can you switch this thing on for me?" Lance asked Keith.
"Sure, hold on"
Keith switched on the the microphone and communication hub.
"Try now," Keith said.
"Pidge? Hunk? Shiro? Someone?" Keith cried desperately into the mic before Lance even had a chance to talk.
There was no response. They were stuck, face to face with nowhere to go.
"Lance I need to get out of here," Keith said, voice shaking.
"I know, I'm trying to find a way out, " Lance responded, tracing his fingers along the edge of the small box they were trapped in.
"Lance! Please, hurry!"
"Keith, I'm trying as hard as I can, I swear.""
"I-I know that, I'm just-," he paused. "I'm scared, okay?"
"Yeah, yeah, claustrophobia, I know."
"Sure that's half of it but your stupid pretty face is literally right next to mine so it's not like that's helping," Keith thought. He quickly shook his head as if he were trying to physically shake those thoughts from his head. "God dammit, Keith. Pull it together, Lance is just a dumbass, don't get all weird because of him."
Lance heard a static-filled voice through the speaker of his helmet.
"H-Hello?" Lance heard Coran's voice say. "Is anyone there?"
"Yes!" Lance said quite loudly. "We're here! Hello? Where are you guys?"
"Haha, it's actually quite a funny story actually, and by that I mean it's worse than attempting to retrieve Scaultrite from the belly of a Weblum..." Coran said cheerfully at first, then his tone drastically dropped.
"What is it?" Lance said, worried.
"We ran into some pretty serious trouble so in an emergency, we were forced to wormhole out. It was pretty sudden and we forgot to ensure everyone was safe and aboard the ship. We're several galaxies away, probably a thousand or so, and we're in an entirely different quadrant, but we'll be back as soon as we can," Coran explained as his mic crackled a few times.
"How come you can't just wormhole back?" Keith questioned loud enough for Lance's mic to pick up on it.
"A jump that big, well, it destroyed a large portion of the teladuv," Coran started. "Getting the parts back and repairing it, well, it could take vargas if we're lucky, but it's more likely to be a few quintants."
"You're kidding, right?" Keith said into Lance's mic. "Please, come on, you have to be kidding."
"Unfortunately, this isn't a joke," Coran's usually cheerful tone dropped. "But you can take this opportunity to have another bonding moment."
"Another?" Lance was confused.
"Yup!" Coran replied. "Maybe this time Lance won't forget you cradling him in your arms, Keith, haha!"
And with that, Keith turned off the speaker, his face burning.
"What was he talking about?" Lance asked.
"N-Nothing, just shut up and find a way out of here," Keith stuttered.
"So this is gonna take a few days, huh?"
"I guess so..."
For the love of god, please be quiet Lance, before I say something dumb.
"So what now, are we just going to sit here while I make fun of your mullet or what?"
// Lance's POV - First Person / Second Person //
"What do you have against my hair, Lance?" Keith replied, exasperated.
"It's a mullet, what do I not have against it?" I mumbled.
His stupid hair, it's not 1986, who has a mullet these days? And his stupid fluffy bangs and the way his stupid hair curls at the ends and how stupidly soft it looks. I hate him. I hate his pretty eyes and his stupid sharp jawline and his stupid amazing bone structure.
But I'm not that dense, I know I like him. I just don't know how to deal with it, so I'm not going to. Things are fine how they are.
