Epilogue - Ambiguous Lies

As Ranran got it right, the red carpet event was a big event that Muniko spared no expense.

Rather than avoid the elephant in the room, he didn't avoid answering questions from the press when they ask how he is dealing with his family drama with Tantei Association's second major case, one the members later named 'The Illegitimate Extra'.

"Though I am leaving the majority up to the court's decision as I am legally not allowed to share a word about the case, I hope after this incident we can finally move on as brothers for once, "Muniko said with a grim yet professional expression in front of the flashing cameras and interviewers alike as he announced, "Our mothers had taken things too far with the manipulation and all, it's time we close down that chapter and live as a family."

Even the children were not spared from the press interview, let alone, the unfortunate driver who was kidnapped the other day. It was fortunate he survived when the police discovered him at some alley disoriented. Unlike what Ran assumed, they were asking questions that she deemed professional for adults.

Casting a glance at Ranran and Shinichi still in their cape coat designed by Emiko, they seem to be handling the press at ease."Our business is called Tantei Association, nice to meet you all."Shinichi greeted the camera as Ranran was entertaining the press.

"As you heard my apprentice, we look forward to dealing with cases like that in the future," Ranran poses herself with elegances.

Still, not all of it was strictly professional.

Takuma, Michio and Emiko were having a blast while being interviewed.

"I designed the clothes because the apprentice requested it," Emiko answered proudly, yet her tone was rather humble.

"I am in charge like a location navigator."Takuma had his thumb pointed to himself with a proud grin.

"Ah haha, I just make sure they don't take things too far."Michio is a little unused to the glaring spotlight and all of that.

There was so much excitement and energy in the air, and it was clear that these kids were looking forward to the movie.

Well, not everyone is, to say the least.

Fuyuko Junko had a hard time. Though she is a confident spelling B of Teitan Elementary School when it comes to spelling in front of many kids and adults alike, having cameras and microphones onto you while having thrown one question after another is difficult even for a 10-year-old girl like her.

This is why Ran is currently accompanying Junko given her stuttering, which Junko appreciated a lot, given that Ran is younger than her by 4 years. If Junko wasn't seen wearing the damn Frozen dress her mom bought for her, she swore life hated her. But it wasn't all bad news, as Michio lent her his spare coat. Still, it didn't cover all of the dress as the press constantly probed why is she in a Frozen Elsa dress, what role she has in the association, and why did she join Tantei Association.

Initially, Junko wanted to answer it was because of Michio, but then Shinichi did mention if they were to answer in such a way that the press spotted a flaw in it, they may twist and distort their answer in such a way, their reputation for the association may be hard to recover. He did warn the two girls if they misbehave in front of the press, he won't go easy on the two.

And he won't go easy if that happens, mainly Ran and Junko who ain't good with their words. Ranran is charismatic, Takuma is charming in his way, and even Emiko's perceptiveness is the reason why Shinichi didn't have to worry about the way they interact with the press unlike the other two. Michio may not be good at what he says, but since he joined the association with honest intentions, the apprentice didn't have to worry, knowing Michio's honesty will bring tears to other parents watching this.

As for Ran and Junko however, they had no choice but to be cautious about what they said, knowing that they could get in trouble if they said something wrong.

So Junko toned it down by answering she had an interest in the association due to the recent increase in crime this year. She wasn't wrong, thank God she had a habit of reading the newspaper. Then Ran claimed she joined us she was inspired by her dad, and the press bought it.

Once all of this is over, the children posed for cameras and the adults took pictures. There were many famous people there, and the children got to meet them.

...

Soon, it was the premiere of 'The Origin of my Childhood'.

Michio looked along the row of faces in the dark cinema. His mother and Emiko were sitting next to Sergeant Genzo. Ran was sitting next to Sonoko from the left, while Ranran with Shinichi on the right.

Takuma meanwhile had brought Reina whose flashing eyes never left him, even when he offered her popcorn.

Mr Muniko's family, wife, daughter and Ohta Bunko, sat together with their eyes glued to the screen. Mr Muniko had been so grateful that he'd given Tantei association a big reward for helping him. And he'd saved Ohta Bunka from going to jail due to stealing the film by paying a special bond and giving her a job as his private assistant.

Junko rested her head on Michio's shoulders."Isn't this nice?" she whispered.

At this point, Michio is praying for the first time in his life, that for once, wishes Ranran gets into trouble right now and sets the cinema on fire, anything just to flee from watching this stupid 'retard' movie Ranran would comment it.

Unbeknownst to Michio, Ranran did bring a lighter.

But with Shinichi around, and with the lighter confiscated recently, Ranran couldn't do it even if she wanted to. Ran was crying and punching air angrily at the same time. Sonoko was glued to the film and shouting at the movie, calling certain characters scumbags. Meanwhile, Shinichi didn't fair it any better having to put up with Ranran's rants about the stupid romance movie. As it was a private premiere, Muniko allow everyone to behave as they normally do while watching such a movie.

This meant Ranran is no longer obligated to contain herself from criticizing the characters either way. "Man, who knew such low-level manipulation to be so easy when it comes to love," Ranran said bitterly as the main lead ran through the rain to find the girl.

"Ranran, it is a romance movie, deal with it, "Shinichi sighs as he pointed out.

"Even if this is a romance movie, not all love stories are as dumb as this. This doesn't happen in real life," Ranran said briskly, "That girl is an idiot, so is the male lead. They deserve each other."

Junko who is hearing all of this nonsense in the back of Ranran's rants had it with her and decided to tell her off by hissing, "I think it's romantic. So keep your comments to yourself,"

"Why should I? She is stupid enough to be manipulated by a jealous rival," Ranran crossed her arms.

"Now settle down, Ranran. It's just a movie. Can we just enjoy this without complaining?" Michio tried to get her to chill off, "it will be over soon."

"Fine, "Ranran's eyes shot up the ceiling as everyone turn back to watch the movie."Why is it that in every single romance drama or movie, the naïve main girl ends up with everyone loving her, at the price of the dreams sacrificed by the supporting characters and villains alike?"Ranran wondered.

"Why..."Shinichi thought to himself, before his eyebrows rose, "You know...I never notice their stupidity till you mentioned it."

"Every movie, same old recycle story."Ranran frowned as she muttered, "No wonder we have so many crimes of passion in real life."Ranran cocked her head to one side as she rants, "I kept wondering why since I moved to Japan, I kept meeting little girls who have boys on their brain with no intelligence. Now I know why."

"Do you?"Shinichi gave an annoyed look.

"Yeah, it all made sense now."Ranran nodded to herself, "The more their mothers made their daughters watch idiot flicks like this, the more brain cells die within them. Their mothers watching this probably misinform them, calling this 'true love', the real happiness to achieve in real life. That's why...when real life happens, they can't accept it and ended up attacking those reasonable girls."

For a while, Shinichi's jaw dropped after hearing his mentor's words. At the same time, it kind of made sense to him. Ran enjoys romance movies, and so does Junko. Including the one brain cell heiress."I think not just reasonable girls, I was attacked by them as well."Shinichi chuckled at Ranran's inner thoughts, deciding Ranran words do make some sense in his nonsensical life with Ran and Sonoko.

"Kudo Ranran! That's a bit harsh, isn't it? Are you suggesting that I am dumb!?"Junko genuinely had it with her and confronted her.

"That depends whether your mother is a dumb fangirl," Ranran grins.

"You want to say that again?!" Junko shouted.

"What is going on?"Muniko and the others turned to them, even the celebrities had surprised looks on their faces.

Ranran was about to repeat what she said with mockery when she felt a hand grab her arm. She looked over at Shinichi who shook his head. She shut her mouth and relaxed a bit. She fell back into the chair, "I wouldn't bother wasting my breath on someone with a low IQ."

Before Junko could argue further, she decided not to as all attention was already on her before collapsing onto her seat.

"Ranran is really like Shinichi, huh," Emiko muttered to Ran, who nodded her head in agreement.

"Ranran and her bloody mouth! One day I am going to get a knife and cut off her red lips!"Junko groaned before glaring at Michio, "This was all your fault!" The glasses girl blasted in anger.

"My fault!? What did I do!?"Michio turned back in annoyance.

"Joining the association to avoid me! Otherwise, we wouldn't be here!"

"Hey, for the record, did I ask you to join?"Michio pointed this out as he went on, "I did this for my mother!"

Ranran who is already gritting her teeth in annoyance and anger, as one part after another of this non-logical stupid movie they were forced to watch is taking its told onto her patience did not want to hear Michio and Junko's arguing in front of them.

"Hey, Fuyuko Junko, "Ranran suddenly called out to the glasses girl, "If you don't know when to be quiet during a movie screening, I am going to take that romance book you bought recently just to woo Michio, and then grill it using Agasa's recent BBQ set he just bought with an open fire. Is that clear?"

"You wouldn't dare! Also, how did you know I bought one recently!?"Junko's expression changed into horror, while Michio was shocked that Junko bought a romance book to control him.

"You going to question Ranran or do you truly want to know?"Shinichi warned her.

With that said and done, Junko reluctantly shut her mouth before quietly watching the movie.

"The world is coming to an end with the domination of one brain cell girl, "Ranran grumbled as Shinichi shakes his head in disapproval towards the glasses girl's behaviour before the two quietly watch the movie.

Before long, the scene transition to the male lead scolding the villainess in the movie for pulling the strings to separate the star-cross lovers in the living room."How could you be so cruel!? You are a monster!"

"A monster?"The villainess scoffed on screen, "In your eyes, I am always despicable when it comes to your precious girlfriend."

Watching this...Ranran can relate to the villainess. Constantly disliked and looked down upon despite her good intentions.

Villains and Villainess....what do they have in common with heroes and heroines?

Good looking appearances, intelligent, and at times (or most of the time), to be the rivals of heroes and heroines, they must be - rich.

The only issue that separates them is actions that are deemed 'good' for society, and for others, while 'bad' actions made them pathetic as they usually are, towards the end....they end up losing everything.

But the truth is Ranran know things about villains and villains that others don't.

Their sole reason for existence is: to make the hero and heroine look good.

And in Ranran's case, there is one secret she didn't tell anyone: she was fated to be one.

..........

Ranran wasn't a girl who was born to know anything, if anything, she doesn't have past life memories.

Unlike isekai stories, fantasy doesn't work in real life. She is aware that one can't just simply transmigrate into, that this is the reality where real-life problems exist everywhere in every corner. This isn't a world filled with magic, fantasy, and time travelling.

She wasn't a girl who blindly believe a fate foretold by some random person who proclaim to be able to read fortunes, she was a girl of logic after all. Even if she doesn't believe it, some events later began to take shape.

The Boy entered the private cinema room in his mother's residence, wanting to confront his apprentice over an incident he had learned recently on what she had done.

In the past, the 4-year old's hands used to tremble watching her horrible future play out on the movie screen where she sat. But now...he noticed Ranran's blue eyes had turned blank and his worst fear has been realised - Ranran has become emotionless since finding out about the projector. Her hands were no longer shaking, just calmly resting on the armrest sent chills to his spine.

Whenever she runs the 'errands' The Boy sent her out on, they both often watch whatever appears on the projector, which is connected to his laptop. The things that are often projected on the screen would either show mere words alone, or a movie of their client's supposed stimulated outcome The Boy would make using the simulator game, something called 'sims' if she wasn't mistaken to explain to her what would happen if they miss a step here and there before she leaves to do the 'errand'.

But as soon she heard of this from 'The Boy' regarding the truth behind this projector he often watches alongside her, she tried to take it all in, but not before throwing up in a vomit bag placed on the desk meant for her.

"Ranran....can we talk now?"The Boy called out to her in a soft voice.

Realizing The Boy had returned, she had the remote to the projector switched off before quietly turning to him. Staring at her emotionless sitting posture made him think she could easily pass off like a doll with her doll-like features. "What is it?" she asked numbly.

"That girl Isabella...did you push her into the pond and watch her from afar while she cried for help as she can't swim?"He was hesitant to ask, but he had to know.

"Yeah."Ranran shrugged, which sent terror in his spine. She didn't even bother to hide.

"Why?"He asked softly.

"Why?"Ranran repeated, her icy blue eyes staring blankly onto the carpet," She deserved it."

Sighing, he probed, "What did she do in the future?"

"Nothing."

"Nothing!?"Her mentor exclaimed as he blinked his emerald eyes at her, "That ain't like you to punish someone for doing nothing!"

"No, she did nothing when a crime happened. That is why I punished her."

For a moment, The Boy blinked and blinked. Finally, he demanded, "What crime did she witness that you had to resort to pushing her into the pond despite knowing that she can't swim!?"

"Her brother took his mom's disfigured Scottish fold that always limped with its left back leg and stuffed it in a bag before throwing it in a pond to drown. She agreed with him as that would mean her dad would end up buying a beautiful cat with no disability."Ranran answered nonchalantly as if her actions meant nothing, before adding, "She didn't stop him cause she wanted a perfect cat to do cat pageant shows and earn some money."

Hearing this, The Boy pinch his nose bridge as he cursed those kids before turning to Ranran's view with a furious stare," She could've died!"

"I was happy you know when I pushed her down the pond."

"What?"He became horrified at her words.

"When I heard her screams crying for help while drowning...I felt happy for some reason."The little girl said with a smile, but her eyes remain as empty as a cold winter.

Another dead silence, "If it were me you pushed, would you be happy?"

"Eh?"

"Just be honest with me, Ranran."

She looked him in the eye to answer, "No."

"No!?"

"I think...I won't feel good if you die because of me."

At least in some odd way, that girl happens to have some sort of....conscience? He doesn't know he should feel happy that he isn't on her list of victims, or sad because he held no significant importance worth hurting.

"Now she didn't die, the cat will die. I am sad again."Ranran suddenly had sad eyes etched on her expression.

The Boy was at a loss for what to do. Having been friends, the only time he had ever seen her this defeated was when she helpless witness him being beaten up by his mother. Now was a different story, however.

"Ranran...."His words trailed out before answering. "It ain't completely too late, we can still save the cat. But not in the way you did where there were no witnesses at the park," he said slowly."Otherwise, you are no different than her either."

"There is a difference. She kills animals, I kill bad people."

If The Boy was a stranger, one would stay away from her and judge she is a psychopath.

Instead, he did the only thing he could think of and hugged her tightly, holding him close and rubbing her back soothingly. "Shh, it's okay. Everything is alright."

"No, it's not," She protested before wondering, "Am I sick?"

"No you aint, "He reassures her," You deserve better than to be doing all of this."

"I don't understand, "She said through his chest, "Why do adults say when a murderer kills an innocent person, there is the bad guy. But when we do that to a bad guy, we become one? It doesn't make sense."

"Not everything makes sense in this world, Ranran, "He managed to say with resolve."Ranran, can I ask you something?" Ranran gave a barely perceptible nod. "What were you going to do if she dies?"

"I will cry for help. Cause no one ever suspects that the one who calls for help is the one behind it, let alone, a young kid as young as 4," She answers.

"That's true," He nodded. "We tend to enjoy it if the bad guy dies and suffers, but you know.....sometimes...if we do that, it will be their easy way out."

"....easy way out?"Ranran parted off with him after he let her go.

"Just think about it, Ranran. If the person you hate killed the very person you love the most, and then before anyone gets to punish him or her in the name of justice, you....killed the murderer. What would happen to you?"

"Hmm.....I might go to jail?"Ranran guessed.

"Exactly. And you also be stupid to throw your entire future just for that." he reasoned.

"But how is that fair! They killed the person I care about the most theoretically!"The 4-year-old argued.

"I know, Ranran – but that is how the law works."He shakes his dirty blonde hair at her.

"....laws are useless."Ranran pouted, averting her gaze away from him.

"But you are right, it wouldn't be completely fair if one doesn't do a thing about it," he nodded."I ain't saying you shouldn't kill, there will be people who hurt other people and would hurt more people without remorse and they do deserve to die. At the same time, when I meant giving them 'easy way out." He eyed her carefully. "Sometimes....the worst kind of pain is being alive to feel it, causing being dead....they don't get to relive the suffer as we do."

For a long while, the little girl said nothing as she cowered herself on the chair.

Finally, she muttered, "I am tired."

"I know."He nodded sympathetically at her, his heart breaks seeing her like this.

Then again, he knew why she was behaving like this.

After all, anyone having witnessed the biggest cruelty of one's future, that they were meant to make others' lives so much better at the price of their misery...are bound to change, for better or worst.

In Ranran's case, however, it was for the worst.

Imagine having to watch your entire life play out before you like a movie.....only for you to be portrayed as pathetic to make others shine, how would one feel?

Of all fates, she had a pariah, one that people would concentrate hatred on just to glorify their union. Her feelings, experiences, hopes had never mattered. She is a puppet and died a puppet, everyone around her is a simple plaything in hands of random evil Gods, and no one could ever imagine it.

Who was at fault for putting them in this position? God? Or the adults in their lives? They have to fend for themselves, despite being so young. "Ranran."

"Yeah?"

Steeling himself against the sense of disgust at what he knew he had to say, he placed a reassuring hand on her back."If there ever comes a day...you felt like they are doing shady crap behind the fake mask of hypocrisy but you feel helpless, think of what you did at the pond as your last option."

"My...last option?"Ranran's words trailed out.

"Which is why......I am going to teach you better ways on how to do it, without you having to sacrifice your future."

"Wait, really?"

"Yeah. I think it's time you finally learn the more advanced ways of handling situations like this."

The Boy left it at that. He couldn't believe he was doing this. But this is the only way out for him and her. Still, God helps if anyone tries to cross Kudo Ranran.

"Whatever happens, I'll be by your side. Even if the world no longer understands you, I promise."

"Thank you. You're the best."

He smiled at her words. "You're welcome. Now come, "The talented pianist offered his hand to her, "Let's go and figure out what to do from here regarding what you did to her at the pond. We wouldn't want her to be 'causing problems, right?"

Ranran silent nodded before grabbing his hand as the two left.

........

Even now, that feeling of emptiness continues to swirl in Kudo Ranran recalling that bitter memory.

The remaining time he spent before Ranran moved to Japan would later pay off, as those lessons were worth it. He often taught her ways to manipulate events on how to make sure it will always work in her favour, how to behave whenever her opponent or enemy tries to ruin her in name, reputation, whatsoever, as well as how to exercise her anger and think logically if that person deserves it before acting out.

For someone like Ranran, the way to cope with her anger issues is to do the things he does it. It was the only way he knew how she is ensured to live a better life. Such as detecting the weakness of a person and exploiting to full means (which Ranran cunning schemes improved thanks to The Boy, which he did beat himself up for it at times). The last thing he wants is for her to be hated upon and be killed, for he cared for her dearly.

Just because she has such behaviour issues, didn't mean she is evil. And she will always remember that at least someone out cared for her true self, one that knew she wasn't what she appears to be. Especially his teachings, which will carry her on for the rest of her life till the day she dies.

The Boy was right, killing them will be an easy way out.

When you are surrounded by weeds, they are bound to suck your nutrient dry and leave you dead. Same for Ranran, she was destined in an environment with this much cruelty, having no experience of anyone loving her while her parents are away, her loneliness ended up eating everything in her and turn out to be the way she is.

However, things are different now.

Ranran will become the rose that turns those weeds into her nutrient and suck them dry. To manipulate them into doing as they are told, talk about things they are forced to do, put them in situations they wish they have better control of while she is the ultimate puppet master... won't that be so much fun?

Just as Shinichi who was sitting next to Ranran open his eyes to turn to her, he noticed something about Ranran.

Her eyes and expression, look....so empty and numb.

Which reminded him of something, "Neh Ranran."

"Yeah?"Ranran replied without leaving her attention on the movie, letting her head rest on her right hand, feeling annoyed.

"The other day when we were at the mine when you threatened to make her son's life a living hell because of the unauthorised movie tribute, you lied that you were the girl in the movie. Do you recall that?"Shinichi tried to stir her memory.

"What about it?"

"Oliver and Claire...I don't recall the names of the parents in the movie 'Boy in the window' being mentioned," Shinichi was hoping to get a response from Ranran, that she was caught like a dear with headlights. Instead, she remains as she is tapping her finger on the armrest."How do you know what was that boy's parents' name?"

Suddenly, Ranran abruptly stops tapping."How do I know...I guessed." she answered nonchalantly.

"You guessed?"Shinichi's eyes narrowed at Ranran," Based on Sora's reaction the other day when you threatened her, it doesn't sound like the names were made up out of the blue."Shinichi became curious as he pressed on, "Were you telling her the truth the other day? That you know the family?"

"Well..about that," She grins a little, her eyes seem to be in the abyss, "That is up to you to decide."

Shinichi remains quiet as he tries to absorb this information."Let's say if this is the truth...would it be amazing if I were to befriend a family of such mass wealth?"

"Well...I won't deny it if that is the case. I mean, in the movie the family is a trillionaire. That means he is richer than Sonoko."Shinichi spoke in amazement, not before his face contorted to worry, "But then if it was real...you must have experienced severe turmoil just like in the movie. Undescribable and traumatic, as the girl in the movie had her tongue removed. But yet here you are still speaking harsh words."

"Well, not everything in the movie had to follow in great detail at the price of getting sued."Ranran paused before she continued."That girl in the movie only suffered 1% on what she had to go through unlike the real version of events."

Shinichi looked at her in horror, not knowing how to answer her.

Ranran who observed them then began to laugh, "It's unbelievable, isn't it? If you don't believe me, just treat it like I'm telling a story."

"Alright then...say if what you said is a story you made up..." Shinichi hesitated to ask before he decided to go for it, "When I watched the movie after the murder...it didn't make sense that his mother ended her son's life because he befriended a girl from the slums. Is there...an actual motive that made sense?"

"There is, "Ranran confirmed.

"Which is?"He prompted.

"Control. She wanted control over her son who she had been abusing."Ranran made a grab for her soft drink attached to the chair, and drank it with a loud slurp before putting it back in its place, "Of course...she got help from the other little kids around his age and mine to end his life, but I doubt you too would believe me."

Shinichi found himself somewhat convinced, although it didn't make sense why kids that young would want an abused little boy to die. Even so, there are things in life that can't be explained. Such as why Ranran kept stealing money from other kids and feels no remorse for hurting others.

Kudo Ranran had no intention to tell him about the tragic event both she and 'The Boy' had to endure."That chapter ended for them, but it will never be for me."

Her silent flashbacks of 'The Boy' death and funeral played out before her very eyes.

"This, that is serious. I can't even imagine....how it's like to live through such trauma, while you were that close to dying in Heaven," Shinichi gave her a pity look, "How are you able even able to survive?"

Shinichi paid attention to his mentor's secret life story, as it was far more intriguing than the cliche romance movie before them.

"That's a good question. Sometimes I ask myself a lot about this."She chuckled darkly.

Shinichi notices the bitterness at the end of her sentence.

There was one lesson he remembered he was taught by their grandfather not long ago. One time, their grandmother tried learning how to bake a cake. She wasted probably around 7-8 hours doing so, but as it was her first attempt, the cake was burned. When their grandfather came home and ate it, he told her bluntly it tasted awful, so at first, the grandmother huffed. He asked her what was wrong, she answers 'nothing'.

Then bickering ensures. They didn't talk to one another for 5 days before he finally apologizes to her.

Shinichi not getting why he apologize to her, since the cake was honestly burned, went up to ask him why should he apologize for pointing out the truth.

He answers, "Shin-Chan when someone says 'nothing' in a sad bitter tone if they were asked 'are you alright?', usually they are not alright."

Just like their grandmother, Ranran's response was pretty evident to Shinichi. The way she said it, it sounded as if she regretted not doing it before. This....he ain't sure. A nagging feeling is telling him the voice he heard from Ranran, was a voice of bitter resentment, it was directed at someone, but he has no idea who. It wasn't the usual crazy maniac, joking like the tone he was used to listening from Ranran whenever she justify her actions.

She doesn't even look upset either. Her eyes are just...ice-cold as she chuckles.

The eyes are the windows to the soul. He once learns that from his family.

But windows can be slammed shut and covered with curtains.

And in Kudo Ranran's case, like a room filled with light as the window stayed shut in dim-lit lightroom,....it looks....so lifeless. As if the light in her eyes is slowly diminishing.

And the gaze only seems to change as the movie volume grows louder. As if no one will ever notice it, that bitter pain she is enduring, she plays it off as it meant nothing. And watching her that way, Shinichi's eyes did nothing but widened. For some reason, he realizes she wasn't being funny when she talk like that.

It sounded so...un-childlike.

What should've been a child that talks nonsense all the time, talking gleefully about doing things she shouldn't be doing as a naughty child, that image of Ranran.....suddenly felt like it was a charade she was putting up. An act. Yet, Shinichi has no clue why.

Ranran was very good at it. Too good. There had to be something about her.

But for the first time his sharp observations failed him, he couldn't tell whether she was being serious or she was just talking gibberish.

It was almost as if his inner Tantei failed him.

Was Ranran being indifferent to save more the right cause?

But a part of him couldn't help but wonder: how long was it possible to stay indifferent?

How long did he have to ensure she keeps in check before all those repressed emotions would overflow and cause her to break down?

Right now, he truly thinks that whatever it was, this isn't funny anymore.

And he doesn't know why.

The only thing he can do is to keep an eye on her, as his partner in crime, hopefully, he will be able to figure out what is the reason behind her words and get it resolved quickly. Cause right now, he has a feeling that as long as he doesn't look into this, more bloodshed is about to occur one way or another.

"I knew you both be dying to know how the movie ended, also, this was something Namba requested for his fiance before being sent to prison." Muniko's voice suddenly woke her up from the trance.

They watched the screen as the crying woman ran into Akihabara downtown. In the background, a wig covering his bald scalp, Namba stepped out of his apartment tavern before hurrying away

"There he goes!' called Mr Muniko, as Ohta Bunko burst into laughter while the cinema hall soon joined in.

"The real star of the film!" Ran giggled, pointing her finger at Namba.

"Why did he ask for this, I wonder?"Takuma became confused over this.

"My assumption is to cheer his beloved up since he is going to jail for a while."Shinichi muses.

"Eh?! You think so?"All of the kids turned to him.

"I mean prison life is really hard. You may not even make it out alive, as people do die in prison."Ranran commented.

"That is...Namba, you really are an idiot...."That's when much to everyone's surprise, Ohta Bunko began to weep over their situation, as she felt touched by her fiancé's last gesture before heading to prison life.

Even the little girls cried with tears in their eyes, "That is the most romantic yet saddest gift one could give before heading to jail."Junko sobbed as she wiped her eyes upon taking off her spectacles.

"I agree...."Ran and Sonoko weeps at it.

Even Reina was no exception, "Why must love hurt this much!" she wailed.

Meanwhile, Michio, Shinichi, Emiko plus Ranran groaned as they shut their eyes.

"When will retard movies like this end?"Ranran muttered while massaging her forehead.

"Never, recycling cliches is their way of making it in the entertainment business, Ranran."Shinichi moaned and so did the others.

After this movie, Shinichi decided he would let Ranran take the lighter if they were ever any gatherings of watching romantic movies, for he had seen enough.

In a world of movie tributes, it's always interesting to see what filmmakers choose to spotlight.

Everyone loves a good movie tribute, and that includes the celebrities who take part in them.
