"Seriously, the idea of them running a drug lab underneath a shopping mall of all places...I find it hard to believe it!"

"You have been saying it for the 5th time."

Ranran sighs staring at an overwhelmed Shinichi, pacing back and forth in distress while rubbing his hair in frustration, trying to deal with all of the information he had to deal with since he started his trial on choosing to become Ranran's apprentice. At the same time, she finds it that amusing that someone like him would have a hard time believing all of this, considering his dad took him to crime scenes when he was younger.

Then again, he never learns things like cocaine revelation having been used in the food industry the way she does, so it's no surprise why he is acting the way he is now.

Shinichi being a boy of logic wants to believe what Ranran said is true, that this 'drug lab' thing is running beneath a shopping mall of all places, one that his mom and dad always take him to shop during family time. However.....he has issues with this theory.

"Don't get me wrong, Ranran," he uses her first name to attract her attention, making sure she takes this seriously, "but if I were in some sort of a 'Breaking Bad' show, a mall ain't one of them. You know why?"She shook her head silently as he pointed his finger at the several cars parked nearby, "Cause thousands of families to come here to park their cars here and there, do their shopping here!"He emphasizes his point, "The last place, and I repeat this, the last thing I want people to realize is picking a public place where I might get exposed any minute! That spot over there," he then turns to the renovation site, or 'drug lab', "doesn't fit the agenda of a drug chemist."

"But Shinichi, "She argues, "let's be realistic, would you have considered that behind those walls you are pointing now," she pointed at the same direction of the shady renovation site, "be a drug lab if it wasn't for the smell?"

"I-" he was hesitant as he ain't sure himself.

"No, of course not! And I tell you why, "She pouted at him, listing her point with her finger, "One," her right index finger came up, "even you yourself are having a hard time believe something like this would happen beneath your nose, you don't think the locals who shop here would think of it the same way as you do? I am certain they would think 'Oh, no way something like this would happen, it only happens in tv shows like 'breaking bad' or fictional worlds! I am certain the smell is all in my head'."

Ranran did a mock-up impression of shoppers as Shinichi was tongue-tied.

"Two, "She lifts her middle finger next to the index, "You mention that since this is a public place where many patrons come here to shop with their families, there is no way they are that stupid to do so. Oh, I beg to differ, "her slight British accent came out unexpected, surprising Shinichi a little, as he recalls she only lived there for about 4-5 years since she was a baby, so he didn't think that the accent remained her considering in the books he once read, accents only develop around the age of 5."It's because of such circumstances, this hidden venue is the reason why it is the perfect disguise spot to do their bidding. Haven't you heard the saying 'hiding in plain sight? Well, there you go."

The two kids kept turning their heads at the spot and then towards each other.

"Lastly, Shinichi, do you know of any shopper who would daringly get close to a renovation site, just to risk getting killed by dangerous hazardous equipment and stuff? Especially with those warnings do not cross signs surrounding the area!?"She waved her hand onto the surroundings of the site, where the bars are obvious."Renovation sites are like freaking crime scenes, though people do cross it, I wouldn't think the majority would with all the shady nonsense going on behind it."

Shinichi wanted to argue that Ranran may be overly dramatizing the situation that is going on between Watanabe Botan, the target they are after and was gonna accuse her on her wild lunatic brain of making up stuff about some 'drug lab' operating underneath the mall. Cause things like that don't happen in real life, and even if that's the case, it'll be stupid to do so.

Should he argue and make his case clear?

He wanted to. But honestly, after hearing all of this from her, he wasn't sure anymore. Observing Shinichi's expression of perplexed feelings, she goes, "Shinichi."

"What?"That woke him from a trance.

"Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth."

That quote....."Sherlock Holmes?"He suddenly found himself uttering his idol's name.

Ranran nodded."You don't have to believe a word I say, however.....I think we should leave this to the police."

Wait, what!? Shinichi was stunned, that ain't like her motto to do so!"Eh!? Why!?"

"Why you say?!" Ranran put her hands on her hips, "We are 2 first grade kids who just discovered a freaking meth lab, Shinichi! We don't have the capability in taking freaking drug lords down, since common sense tells us they always carry freakin guns with them."

"Wait, guns!?" that made him stiffen, not before he turned puzzled, "Why would need that?"

Facepalmed!" Kudo Shinichi," she muster all the patience she could gather before explaining, "If you happen to have an illegal golden goose that lay gold eggs, yet other thieves decided to steal it, would you report it to the police that you got robbed?!"

Dead pause,"......no."

"Precisely the point! The same goes for those people, so the only solution to prevent loot theft is using guns!"

A sudden coldness hits Shinichi in the spine, then he recalled something, "Wait, your dad's gun!"As he snapped his head to her, "why not use it? You seem good with the gun when I broke into your house at that time! If you use it on them-"

"Oh, that? I don't have it with me."

"Eh!?"

"For some reason, my tousan doesn't trust me to carry it around in public." she shrugged.

"How can this be!? I mean you are 'The Fox'! You put so many criminals behind bars! Surely your dad had to be so worried for your safety thanks to the enemies you made, that he let you carry one?"

"I reasoned with him over this as well and justified my point, but he was like 'you are 6 years old, no 6 year old carries a gun, let alone, plans to shoot the kids they hate in school'!"Ranran spoke in disappointment, sending goosebumps to Shinichi as he recalled back then, he too was also on Ranran's list of kids she hate," also, you probably notice the entourage of police officers are the only protection The Fox is allowed to get."

"Well then....how was it you were able to use it at home then!?"

"My dad only leaves it at home in a safebox without a password if I am alone in the house, if he was at home, he locks it up."Ranran huffs as she shrugged," he should've let me bring a gun. I am gonna remind him later on."

On second thought, Shinichi decided she should be without a gun at the moment.

Seriously, this girl is loose canon! It's like he just needed to turn away for a short while, and she was already leaving a trail of destruction on her flowery path of justice! Also, she was talking nonchalantly as if all of this was normal!

Anyway, besides the point.....if what Ranran said about the drug lab is true, that means this is serious in nature. Though he isn't against the idea of calling the police as it will make things less chaotic, he has some concerns, "Even if were to call the cops on this lab..... won't Watanabe Botan be arrested as well?! Since he is a drug delivery boy?"

"Of course, he will get arrested, even though he is said to be around....10 years old now according to the files?"Ranran recalls as she added, "even kids can go to jail if they do shady things like adults do."

Just....who is this Kudo Ranran!? To know this much....dark stuff? Even his parents didn't tell him a single thing about this! Also, why didn't his parents teach her all these necessities as a detective!? No wonder he is so far behind!

Enough said, he will ask about this later on. Right now, the focus should shift to the matter in question, "Ranran, earlier you said that we should report it to the police, but what if they don't believe us?"

Ranran merely gave him a look.

"I mean don't get me wrong...I ain't doubting your abilities as a detective. However....you mentioned that even shoppers had a hard time believing it. If we do as you say....would the police even believe it in the first place? That some drug lab is operating under some family-friendly shopping mall?"

"I have creditability as the Fox, they know I rarely joke around."

"True, but let's not forget the fact that we are still 6-year-old school going, kids. Those shady people there could've made up some lie and said they were filming a movie about doing this sort of thing under a mall."

"True, but-"

"Also, even if we do so.....if they find out we were the one who called the police and put two and two together that the boy is Watanabe's nephew and learn we are after him because we wanna locate Watanabe, we are gonna be shut off the case, Ranran."

Ranran knew Shinichi ain't wrong about this, right now, the morale of Japan's metropolitan police department is still at an all-time low since the corruption scandal broke. If they are gonna restore their reputation, this drug bust beneath Haido Mall would be the perfect set-up in gaining the public's trust back. Of course, her doing so would end up giving neither her nor Shinichi credit, cause that's what adults who abuse the law are good at being selfish bastards. Ranran truly didn't wanna do this, but her options are limited, even as 'The Fox'.

Even so...

Even so....her dad still has connections there, if she relies on him to pull the strings, perhaps she be able to manipulate the situation and get Botan to spill everything. However, her dad will then figure out she is involved in this case and pull her off since this is a runaway criminal they are talking about. Should she choose this plan and risk her dad figuring it out? Damn, if only she has a gun now.

Only then, her idea lit up.

She then headed over to the site.

"I wonder what are we going to do with this situation, right Ranran? Eh? Ranran?!"Shinichi suddenly turned back to see her heading to the lab site and chased after her, "Ooi Ranran! What are you doing!?" he hissed at her.

But he wasn't listening as they both made it to the site, not before both of their faces began to distort by the gust of pungent smell hitting their nose, "Uggh" Both of them covered their noses."Yup, definitely meth lab."Ranran commented.

Shinichi was having a hard time breathing as well, as he turned to speak to Ranran in a low voice, "What are you trying to do?"

"The only thing we know-how,"

Ranran quickly fishes out her smartphone from her skirt pocket, then Shinichi watches her press the social media app, setting it to live stream on her phone, "You gonna live stream this!?"He gawked at her.

"Listen, I know what you are thinking; this is a dumb idea cause viewers will think it's fake. But hear me out: the internet is a messed up place." she explains as the empty video title box pops up for her to key in," as long as one video shows something questionable to a point people become curious as to whether all of this is real or fake, it will go viral. A drug lab under a shopping mall, let alone, Haido mall.....will be something one will not resist watching. I am certain with the footage I am doing....it is a matter of time one of the people who comment would tag the metro police department."

"Eh?"

"You are right, tipping the cops will make it less credible. I thought of recording it, but that too they will think is fake, so why not live stream?"

"How is this any different than contacting the cops!?"

"Well, we just need a dummy untraceable social media account, then post this live stream anonymously. With that done...." she grins cynically," They won't know it is us behind it, and that we are investigating the nephew."

Shinichi's face begins to form an expression of horror, "You do know the mall might sue our family over this video, right?"

"Go ahead, I dare them."Ranran smirks, "even if they try to sue us for defamation, there'll be a public outcry as the public would naturally assume that they are covering up drug activities under this mall by suing us."

Shinichi was gonna argue, but then he realizes she has a point. No shopping mall would accept this sort of thing occurring under their very noses."Wait, then how is this gonna enable us to get to his nephew!?"

"Since he happens to be a 10-year-old boy, I wouldn't be surprised if the police would let him off the hook easily and he could claim he was tricked into doing this. That's why when this goes viral.....he won't have it easy if he tries to trick himself out of this."

"Eh?

"While I Livestream this, I am gonna set two kinds of settings onto the video. One that shows his face, and the other with his face blurred. Of course, I will keep the one with his face as backup, so if he tries to weasel his way out of all of this mess.....I can use this to 'remind' him that he isn't the only one who is aware of his little secret."

"Ranran, are you planning blackmail!?"Shinichi hissed in shock.

"No, I am just 'reminding' him. There, I typed it, the title of the video 'Real-life 'Breaking Bad' in Haido Mall'." she beams proudly before quickly typing it down,"#breakingbad, #reallife, #Haidomall, #secretmethlab, #japan, #police. There, and off we go!" pressing record live stream.

"Ah! Wait! Ranran! We need to cover up our noses over that smell!"

Too late, she had already pressed it.

Before he knew it, chaos is about to unfold in the worst way possible.

The two children position themselves at a hidden corner as she set the smartphone camera aimed into the room through the gap of the paper mache walls surrounding the site, both each already had their noses plugged in form of small tissue paper rolled up in balls up their nostrils.

Now, as it is Shinichi's first time seeing an actual drug lab, he couldn't help but look in awe over what was in the room. Sure, Professor Agasa has one underneath his basement, but Agasa's was considered to be child's play in his opinion when he observes the surroundings. The one he and Ranran are peeking at now...closely reminded him of the scenes in watched in the tv series 'Breaking Bad'. There are foreign equipment he had never seen before, big and small, beakers and test tubes of all sizes, as well as some men wearing yellow jumpsuits.

One thing running through Shinichi's mind as he was seeing all of this was, "What the hell did I sign myself up into becoming an apprentice!? Also, to think they have the audacity to build a freaking drug lab here of all places!?"

The little boy whom they followed earlier is leaning on the wall, seemingly waiting for the finished meth product right next to a group of men in black suits as those with yellow hazmat suits are busy doing their thing, the men in black suits happen to have very scary expression."Neh, I just need to ask, no one else saw you so far, right?"

"Yeah, I made sure of that. Though I admit, there have been two children whom I suspect, been following me for several hours before finally getting here."Botan reassures the two.

"What!? Why would they do that!?"

"Beats me, "Botan shrugged, "I think they are bored."

"Kids, nowadays poor parenting make them do questionable things."Another one huffed in annoyance.

Shinichi who heard all of this initially wanted to yell at the bastard after hearing this, but Ranran's warning glare was enough to shut him up, as they quietly film it. Meanwhile, comments are already popping up one after another as Shinichi reads the comments skidding past the screen on the top. Sentences kept on appearing one after another:

"Omg is this really in real life!?"

"Fake! Even one look I can tell is fake!!"

"Doesn't look like it, I used to do drugs and the equipment looks very legit to me."

"Hey, Japan police! What are you guys doing!? Can't you see what is going on in Haido Mall now!?"

"Wait, are you sure this is in Haido Mall!? I find it hard to believe that this video is legit! Who would wanna do this kind of stupid thing under a mall where a lot of people gather!?"

"Hey, police! After eating all those bribes and stuff, you guys are allowing some drug lab to operate under a freaking mall of all places?!"

Ranran is right, it is a matter of time before they take note of this situation. However, he was feeling very uneasy about how things are panning out."Ranran, what's gonna happen if one of them decided to check their social media now? They gonna come after us."

"Just keep quiet, and leave things be."

His uneasiness did not get any lower."Most importantly, where are the samples my client requested?"Botan asks.

"Don't be in such a hurry."The 3rd man grins as he rubs his hands, "You brought the money, right?"

"Of course."

The little boy took out a roll of cash from his bag, making the two children's eyes grow wide.

"Heh, for a little boy like you, you sure got what it takes to be one of us. Here is what you wanted."The man later takes out a bag of white powder.

Holy crap, Shinichi and Ranran didn't foresee this. Those are genuine legit drugs!

"How are that old man and the old lady holding up?"

"Ah, those two.....so far, today they are doing alright."The pain is evident in Botan's eyes talking about his adopted parents.

"Hey, cheer up, alright? This is after all gonna be your last job for both you and me."

"Famous last words, "Ranran muttered under her breath as Shinichi shook his head.

"Sir, you are shutting this lab already as well?"

"Yeah."The man admitted as he half-heartedly sigh while scratching his head, "Although we been doing this for about 6 months, the top members of 'Echis' ordered that we have it shut down. You know their policy, to operate in an anonymous location and then end it after 6 months. Plus, the mall's management has been receiving several complaints about the smell coming from the parking lot. If we hadn't had someone work there, I swear we would've been busted by then."

"Wait, 'Echis'?!"

Ranran's eyebrows rise as Shinichi turned to her."What?"

"'Echis'.....he is the mastermind whose name was said to be behind the police corruption scandal."Ranran explained as he listen intently, "Since last year, his name has been mentioned multiple times amongst the department, and till now, he is a big fish that has yet to be caught by the higher-ups as well."

"Nani!?"He covered his mouth, then realization sank in deep for him, "Wait a minute, if that is the case...."

"Ah...I don't think we are dealing with a simple jailbird break case after all."She confirmed his suspicions.

"But wait a minute, if this is serious in nature, why wasn't his name been reported to the media!?"

Ranran still focuses her attention on the lab, "Because of a couple of things, one, a lot of higher-ups were arrested because of this man. Second, his criminal empire is said to be a year old by the time they realize this, my dad even to this day has a hard time figuring out how many more of the officers there are still under his payroll. And third...."

"....what is the third?"He prompted her to say.

"Third...."Ranran repeated, reluctant to say a word as the smartphone kept on recording, before she finally said, "No one knows how he looks like in real life."

"Is it?"

"He often wore a mask was the only thing I can find through the reports so to speak."

"A...mask?What kind?"

"No idea. Not one was able to get a good look at him. He is always doing it behind the scenes."The two children watched as the adults in the room are beginning to clean up everything in the lab."Ah great, by the time the police arrive, there goes the evidence."

"Or is it?"

"Eh?"Ranran perked to turn back, only to see Shinichi with us about to leap right into the room when she grabbed his arm."No."

"Ranran-"

"Have you forgotten what I said about them having freaking guns!?"

"I know that."

That break-in he did to her house did not do any favours in steering him away, judging his determined expression, "No no, you don't understand. There have a gun-"

"Screw it, if I can live through having a bloody gun pointed at me in the face before, I can do it again," he reassures her, "I'll try to buy time before the police arrive to make sure they don't clear up the evidence, meanwhile, make sure the cops get word of the live stream. I am leaving this to you."

"Ooi! Shinichi!"

Too late.

While she was too shocked to comprehend, he jumps into the room."Stop right there!"

Everyone simultaneously turns towards Shinichi."What!?" "Police!?"

"But as soon as they spotted it was nothing more but a little boy, they all breathe a sigh of relief."Ah, just a little boy. Don't surprise us like that."

"Is this kid trying to play detective or something?"

Meanwhile, Ranran had no choice but to stir clear away from the site, as soon as she is certain she is far enough where no one can see or hear her, she quickly dialled the number, "Hello, dispatcher?! I am in Haido Mall carpark B2!"Ranran shouted over the phone, "An acquaintance of mine has accidentally discovered a couple of drug chemists running a meth lab here. Two adults are involved in using a child to traffic drugs against his will. I need the police to be sent here, now!"

"I am sorry?" said the dispatcher. "A meth lab!?Under Haido Mall!? You are joking, right!?"

While Ranran argues over the phone, back at the makeshift meth lab, the adults plus Botan are sneering at him with all sorts of insults they could think of in getting rid of him, even threats of murdering him with a gun, "Look kid, just get out of here unless you wanna stupidly lose your life, will you?"

But the boy glares back at them."You will regret saying this."

Immediately after that, while Ranran is still busy arguing over the phone, she whipped her head as a loud "AAAAAAAHHHHHHHh!" can be heard from the back.

The scream was so loud, it even caught the operator over Ranran's phone off guard."Ma'am, what was that noise?"

Shit! By this time, Ranran once again yelled over the phone, "You heard it! That is the sound of someone getting murdered! Does it sound like a joke to you guys now!?"

"A-a-alright ma'am, just calm down. Police dispatch will be on their way, in the meantime, don't try to confront the killers on your own and stay away at a safe distance-"

Suddenly, one of the paper mache walls seems to be pushed down to the floor, as men in suits and hazmat suits were fleeing for their lives in different directions. Watanabe Botan is wearing his branded bag as Shinichi chased after them from the back. Though she stood far away, presumably thanks to the echoing car park, she was able to make out some of the words they were heard yelling with one another.

"That stupid boy! The mall is gonna explode because he took a brick and threw it at our D.I.Y propane tank of all things!"

What!? Explode!? Also, Shinichi did what!?

Amid the confusion, Shinichi could be heard yelling as he emerge from the lab, "You won't get away, you bastards!"

"Wait a minute....brick....D.I.Y propane tank...."Ranran's eyes grew as big as saucers as she realize what had happened, "No way! Seriously Shinichi!?"

Is he an idiot or what!?

Thanks to quick thinking, Ranran hurriedly run over to Shinichi and, in a haste having grab his wrist, she ran and dragged a surprised Shinichi away from the target."Hey Ranran!? What are you doing!?"

"What were you thinking throwing the brick onto a freaking propane tank, Shinichi! We gotta go!"She picked up the pace faster, forcing him to run as well.

"Hah!? Why should we!? We need to go after Botan as well as those buffoons!"

Seriously, if they were not in this situation right now, she would genuinely whack him in the back of the head."Because thanks to you, the mall is gonna explode!"

"EH!?"

"You threw a brick onto their makeshift propane tank, especially close to combustible ingredients to make meth! This is bound to cause explosions!"

"EHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!"That shook Shinichi to the core as she took him over to the emergency staircase to get out of the B2 floor, running up one step after another."I didn't mean to throw the brick at the propane tank! I was aiming onto those idiot bastards aiming a gun at me, till I found a brick near me so I threw it in self-defence!"

"Well you must have had poor eyesight, or else we wouldn't be in such a situation!!!!!"She screech as adrenaline is running in her.

By this point, Shinichi is feeling pale that he may have screwed this up pretty badly.

By the time Ranran and Shinichi were finally able to flee out of the mall, a loud boom could be heard from below, attracting the attention of patrons and people walking by as gusts of smoke and fume can be seen coming out of the parking lot.

"Oh shit!" Shinichi couldn't help but cringed as he cursed, turning his back to realize he mess things up.

"This is so not a low profile in our investigation."Ranran couldn't help but sigh, shaking her head in disapproval as she pinches her nose bridge.

"We gotta look on the plus side, we are lucky that they didn't manage to escape."He breathes a sigh of relief.

"Hmph?"

"Over there, "Shinichi pointed to the left as she turned to see, stunned to find the men in suits, yellow hazmat suits, as well as Watanabe Botan, all of them were being held by police officers as mass petrol cars kept on coming.

"Phew."Ranran releases her breath, before realizing something, "Even so...I can already see the headlines that read 'Breaking news: Two kids discover a real-life 'Breaking Bad' drug den underneath Haido Mall, and cause it to explode'"Ranran shakes her head in dismay as police began swarming around the premises."God, the mall is gonna make us pay for damages, that's for certain."

"Oh no, it probably won't be as bad as our parents finding this out though," Shinichi commented.

"Yup, that I too agree." Ranran nodded with Shinichi, she wasn't going to argue with that. She then turned to where Botan was, looking frazzled and he seem to be crying with tears in his eyes as the officers pet him on the shoulder."Anyway, I think it's time we get some answers from him before he disappears from us again."

Shinichi turned to where Ranran is staring, "I agree, considering the name 'Echis' is mentioned....we are dealing with something far sinister ahead of us."

"I agree...wait, "Shinichi then notices as he turns his head back to Ranran, "We?"

"Congrats, you became my apprentice. Even though....that D.I.Y propane tank was messed up on its own."

"Ranran...."His eyes grew wide, but then realizes he had let slip in calling her by first name basis without realizing it, just like she did with him, "I mean, Kudo-"

"It's alright you call me whichever you want to call me. No need to be embarrassed."

"Eh!? Really!?"

"En."Ranran then frowned, "Though....it be odd that I am calling you by my surname."

"We shared the same surname after all, nah......"Shinichi too thinks this was odd, calling out his surname onto a girl who shared the same as his."You know what? Screw it, let's call each other by the first name to avoid how weird it sounds."

"Agree."The two nodded together."Now let's go ask that troublemaker, we will see what else he has to say about the chaos he had caused us all."

"I seriously am innocent in all of this!"

Watanabe Botan was failing miserably in convincing the two children that he was innocent in all of this, as Ranran showed him a recording of Botan doing drug deals with the adults. Even with the video, he still wouldn't budge."Of course, you are supposedly 'innocent', considering all the branded goods you own says otherwise." Shinichi rolled his eyes as he pointed out.

"I keep telling you that my friend's parents gave it to me once on my birthday!"

"You don't think just because you happen to be a 10-year-old boy, you'll be immune to the law in terms of drug trafficking, Watanabe Botan."Ranran was being chill as always, staring at him as if he was a bug.

"You are bluffing!"

"Try her, she once aimed a gun directly at my head and didn't hesitate to shoot."Shinichi challenged their suspect.

When neither of them receives a response from a terrified Botan, Ranran grins."You don't believe him, do you? Then let's go test it out at-"

"W-wait! I know you ain't!"Botan is scared of his life, staring at Ranran's menacing expression in her eyes.

"Then just tell us whether you had contact with your uncle since he broke out of prison or not. And if so.....did he mention anything about who did this and why? Not like you are going to get charged for hiding his whereabouts, considering.....your relations with him broke down since your mother passed away."

Shinichi wanted to tell Ranran off that this is insensitive, considering it has only been a month since the mother died, but Ranran seemed to know what she was doing.

The boy was shuffling his feet as soon as she brought up his mother, making him grit his teeth."I understand if you hated him so much so you want nothing to do with this, even so-"

"He never did contact me as soon as he got out, you know?"

Shinichi watched in shock by Botan's revelation, as Ranran remain silent.

"You are wrong about me hating uncle. If anything, I never blamed him for causing my mother to die."Botan finally reveals out of frustration, "They knew what they sign up for when they did all of this to help raise me who has no father. I....hate anyone bringing him up is because...I have no one but to blame myself."

"Eh? Why would you say something like that?"

"If my mother haven't met a scumbag, she wouldn't have ended up struggling to raise me alongside Uncle, and the two wouldn't have ended up in prison.....uncle retired from a life of crime at some point, you know? Till he found out I was about to arrive..."

Shinichi had never seen anyone work so quickly and efficiently before the way Ranran does, never seen anyone take apart the clues so fast and expose the other like that. It was rather impressive.

"Did you know....? He was so fearful that I would end up having a hard life in school because I am the nephew and son of criminals, he told me not to see him nor his mom in person?"He laughs bitterly thinking back, "I wouldn't have cared for others talking lowly because of them, they were the ones after all who gave me life after all......and yet, they had to pick such heartless route for me."

The Kudos didn't know what to think.

"But...I did receive one anonymous phone number."

"Really?" The two child detectives exchanged silent looks.

"I answered it, a man told me that he knows my uncle and that he wanted to ask me how I was doing through him."

"A man....got any names?"

".....I...ain't sure."

"Watanabe-san?" Shinichi prompted his uncle's surname.

"Honestly, he never told me who his name was, however...." he thinks hard," He has an odd accent."

"An accent?"Ranran arched an eyebrow," what sort?"

"I ain't sure....sounded like Australian or British of that sort. Ah, he also sounded muffed up."The two children begin to ponder the identity of the mysterious caller, "Can I leave now? I answered all of your questions."

"Are you kidding me?!" Shinichi said in disbelief, "you been delivering drugs to those cafes-"

"Ehem."Ranran clears her throat to stop Shinichi from saying anything further, before she ended the conversation by saying, "Thank you for your corporation, you may leave now."

What!? Is she serious!? Shinichi gave her the odd look.

Botan was stunned as he blinked his eyes innocently, "Wait, you mean it!?"

"Of course, we were not here to arrest you on your drug activities or anything. We are here just to talk about your uncle in the first place."

"Wait, so the entire time when you two were following me earlier.....you just wanted to talk about uncle!?" this made Botan beyond shell shock, "Why didn't you say any of this earlier then!?"

"You were making things difficult for us when we wanted to talk to you with all of those disappearing acts."Shinichi pointed out.

".....you....do have a point. I guess.....I shouldn't have fled like a fool had I known."

Thus, the interview ended with Botan sighing.
