"ready?"
seth turned around, meeting sasha's eyes. her outfit today consisted of black leggings, a simple white, skin tight, tank top, and a yellow cardigan over that. seth wore some black jeans and a red off-white hoodie along with a black baseball cap.
"you like the color yellow?" seth asked, tilting his head at the girl.
she nodded, "yeah, i just really like the vibe it brings," she explained.
the two exited their suite, stepping into the elevator. they were on one of the top floors so the ride down was pretty long.
seth looked over at sasha who was leaned up against the back wall. her eyes were fixed on the ceiling which had a beautiful mural of some angels and the clouds.
"i wonder what that one means?" she mumbled, bringing her finger up to meet an angel who was off to the side, away from the other four.
seth furrowed his eyebrows, "elaborate?" he chuckled confused as to what she was so perplexed on. they were just angels.
"why is he alone? why doesn't he have a neckless and big wings like the others?" she questioned.
seth smiled, "i love the way your mind works," he said softly grabbing her hand. he loved how she noticed the small details. to a lot of people it may have been any old mural, but sasha wanted to figure out the deeper meaning behind it.
"i'm just curious."

seth and sasha stepped inside an antique store at the corner of a strip of buildings. not many people were in the shop, maybe three or four besides them.
"i'm sorry, i just really don't like crowds," sasha huffed, heart still pounding from having to push through the floods of people in the streets.
"i know," he said softly, "don't apologize, okay. you're perfectly fine love."
the gentle tone in his voice warmed sasha as she felt her anxiety start to fade. she finally focused on the store they were standing in.
soft classical music played from the speakers. it smelled of well antiques. it wasn't necessarily a bad thing, but you could tell everything in the place was dated and had significant meaning.
"how about you pick something out and i'll pay for it," seth offered, a small smile drawn across his lips which were curved slightly upwards. sasha was too tired to have another argument over money. she reluctantly gave in, shyly nodding her head.
they walked around the shop, being careful not to bump or break the fragile objects. seth being his tall and clumsy self, almost knocked into a shelf filled with glass sculptures until sasha had to step in and push him away.
"puis-je vous aider pour quoi que ce soit?"
sasha and seth looked at the man who arrived beside the two. he was wearing a black and white striped shirt with some white jeans, his hair was a bit messy, but clearly intentionally styled that way.
the two confusedly, tilted their heads at the man, not familiar with the language.
"oh, are you guys from america?" he asked, a french accent heavy in his words.
seth nodded, "yeah sorry, i failed french class."
the man laughed before patting seth's shoulder, "not to worry, i know english pretty well," he then glanced at sasha who seemed to be shyly playing with the sleeves of her cardigan, "my lady, don't be nervous. i'm the owner of the shop and i just came by to see if i could help you with anything."
sasha smiled, slightly glancing up at seth, hoping he'd do the talking for her.
"we're just looking around," seth answered.
the kind man smiled, "ah, well my name is gabriel if you need anything," he said before starting to leave, "actually wait," he said re approaching the two, "you seem to like colors. are you interested in art?" he asked, grabbing sasha's hand.
she nodded feeling her nerves pick up at the man's interaction. it was clear he meant no harm to her, but anxiety was a real thing.
"may i show you something?" he asked, letting go of her hand.
sasha and seth followed gabriel to the back of the shop. "i've loved art from a very young age. i studied artists from the most famous of ones to ones only few people are aware of," he explained.
he picked up a music box. the outside seemed to be some old rustic wood. it looked pretty plain, only having a few detailed carvings. "this was made by a friend of mines grandfather. he did a lot of wood work and painting," gabriel handed the box to sasha, who delicately held it in her hands. "from the outside it looks pretty basic, yeah?" he asked. sasha nodded. "well open it up my dear."
sasha did as told, lifting to lid up to reveal a beautiful mix of yellows, oranges, and pinks, splattered around the whole inside. it was like a sunset perfectly captured in a small box.
"he created it to show how somebody's outside doesn't describe their inside. it's a common concept in the world and a lot of people like to brush it off and call it cliche, but i believe this message is one of the most important ones to live by," gabriel noticed the spark in sasha's eyes. he could tell she was a genuine human being and having lived in one of the most popular tourist attractions in the world, he'd seen his fair share of awful people.
"what do you say, i give it to you for free?" he asked. he didn't want the piece of art to go to some random person who wouldn't value it and would probably auction it off in a yard sale. he could tell sasha wasn't like that.
sasha looked up at seth who nodded his head. "i mean i gue-
"great," gabriel smiled. he took the box over to the counter and removed the tag. "have a wonderful day."
