" I will not let you go! Hold my hand Naina and I will pull you up" his panicked voice echoed in the silence atop the cliff. She extended her hand and grabbed his. He tried to pull her up with all the force that he could. He couldn't afford to lose her now that he had found her...
He struggled and put his entire strength. Just when he thought he had saved her as more than half of her body was on the cliff, a rock gave away and she fell down.
" Sameerrrrr!"
" Nainaaaaaaa!!"
He was traumatised.
S: No...Naina..no...u can't go...no...you can't leave me alone and go...no...no... NO!
He screamed and wept bitterly.
S: Why ? Can't you bear to see me happy?
You snatched away my parents...my Nanu became the reason for my existence...so happy I was...but you couldn't bear to see me happy...so u snatched him also from me.... After all this also, u weren't appeased oh almighty, that you snatched my Naina also ??
Grief stricken and completely traumatised, his brain stopped working...

He jumped off the cliff!

She opened her eyes, only to feel an excruciating pain in her right leg. With great difficulty, she managed to come to an upright position. Everything looked very hazy and she took a long time to recall where she was and how she landed there. The excruciating pain in her leg induced an anaesthetic effect on her. She felt disoriented.
She looked around to find herself on a bed of bushes and small plants and her leg squashed by a heavy rock. She tried her best to free her leg, but the rock was too heavy. After 6 unsuccessful attempts, she finally gave up. The sound of footsteps on the dry grass echoed in the silence of the forest. She stiffened and shivered with fear.
What if it was some wild animal? What would she do?
" So you are gonna be torn into shreds...what a way to die!" Her villainous mind spoke.. magnifying the fear in her. She looked around and her sharp ears could make out that the sound was from her left.
Her eyes were fixed on the left side of the forest as she heard the sound of the footsteps louden. But what she saw, emerging from that direction, immediately eradicated all her fears!
" Sameer! " she screamed out to him
He ran and came towards her and lifted the rock off her.
The pain dint matter as the feeling of happiness and love overpowered it.
" I knew that you would surely come to save me" saying this, she pulled him into a hug.
When he dint reciprocate, she left him and his face held a shocked expression!
" Sameer?? Why are you looking at me like that?"
" Who are you?"
She was completely shocked hearing his question.
"W..what do you mean by who I am? I am Naina..."
" Naina??"
" S..Sameer ...what's...wrong with you?"
" Sameer? Who is Sameer? My name is Rohan!"
" What? But your face ....how can that be exactly similar?"
" He might be one of my doppelganger...we have 7 doppelgangers, they say"
" If you aren't Sameer, why did you come running hearing his name?"
" I dint hear....I just saw you and came running to help"
" It's a little hard to believe..."
" I understand...it's better if we get out from here... but how the hell did you land here in the first place?"
She told him everything.
He simply nodded.
" It's getting late...it's better to leave this forest before it turns dark"
" But I am not able to...it's ..."
" If you don't mind....there's only one way..I have to carry you"
She reluctantly agreed as there wasn't any other way.

He woke up with a sharp pain at the back of his head. He could feel the cut on his head bleeding. He got up and balanced himself with great difficulty. He kept his hand at the back of his head and felt warm blood oozing out. His fingers too became red .
" I jumped from such a height...nothing happened because of these plants cushioning my fall...so even Naina might be alright.."
A glow was seen on his face, his eyes lit up with revived hope. Niether the pain nor the oozing blood mattered..all that mattered was he had to find Naina.
He got up with great difficulty and started walking , following the path..wherever it led to....

Wandering on that path, he soon reached a small settlement of village people. He collapsed just a distance away from the settlement. A young boy of 12 yrs, found him when he and his friends were chasing each other!
He was immediately taken to the 'vaid' of the village and his injuries were dressed.
They opened their eyes together. Finding no one in front of them, both simultaneously turned to their side only to see each other. For a brief moment, both of them dint even bat an eyelid and kept staring at each other...both pinched themselves together and reality dawned on them that it wasn't a dream. He got up from his bed, his head covered with white bandage and walked towards her. Her right leg was positioned at an angle and was completely covered by a white bandage.
" Naina..."he called out her name softly
" S.. Sameer..."
" You in such a state....you are okay na? It's not paining much na.." both spoke out together!
He immediately hugged her and started crying
S:How could you? How did you even thing that you can leave me and go? That moment when you fell off the cliff...I was devastated..I thought I lost you forever..
He broke the hug and looked at her with his tear stained face. She wiped his tears and cupped his face.
" I am fine see..right in front of you...am with you....shhh!! Don't cry..."
He then told her how he jumped off the cliff and how he landed here.
She pulled him into a hug
" Are you mad? If something had happened to you..."

" Nothing would have happened to him..true lovers like you are destined to be together" a voice called out.
They broke their embrace and Sameer was shocked to look at the owner of the voice.
Looking at his shocked expression, the man at the door said
" Hi Sameer! I am Rohan, ur doppelganger"
" Sameer, he is one who saved my life"
Saying this she narrated the happenings.
Sameer thanked Rohan for saving his Naina and spoke
" Finally met my doppelganger...had this wish since 9th std!"
Rohan smiled at Sameer. They shared a conversation, talking about themselves.

A week later,
Both Naina and Sameer had recovered completely. Thanking all the people and bidding them a good bye, they headed towards the city with Rohan, who dropped them. Bidding a good bye to Rohan, Samaina walked back home, holding hands... never to leave them again!
