There is a knife twisting in Margot Orsini's gut─something many are not able to do, however, it's until she looks up and notices the person twisting said knife.

A mutant's X-Gene activates on two different occasions: during puberty or in a time of stressful chaos. Both occassions occurred when Margot's abilities awakened at age twelve, death in her hands as she accidentally sets off an unexplained explosion, destroying her neighborhood just as blood dripped from her uterus. This was the first time the knife pierced her unreachable self.

No one could explain what had happened, not until Charles Xavier walks into her life. His fingers by his temple as he tries to comprehend her immense pain─such pain that could only be explained through guilt. However, Margot is able to understand Charles' weakness, something that could cause him vulnerable to the horrors she'd caused. But this was until Erik Lehnsherr makes himself known in their tight-knit club of mutated humans possessing the X-Gene.

And for the first time, perhaps her horrors are understood. Heard.

But the knife twists even deeper, blood gushing out as she doesn't scream for help. Not when she tries to understand what happened to her and Erik after the X-Men came to fruition, to the mission in Cuba, to Charles' paralysis, to him drifting away to become nothing but an image through newspapers or a moving picture on her television screen.

So, by the time Margot looks up at the person holding the knife, it was a face she knew well. A face that would continue to haunt her, follow her for the rest of her life─It hurts, she says, Erik. It hurts.

Oil and water. Magnetism and repulsion. Erik Lehnsherr and Margot Orsini, a tale old as time.

to preface this, this is specifically based off of the revised timeline after Days of future past (2014) so this covers until dark phoenix which... despite my hatred for it... it will be fun to write by the time i come to that part! however, there will be some mentions of i guess the original timeline before days of future past erases it all so 😼😼😼 and also huge thank u to apollo for helping me w the gifs because oh my god... tumblr is crazy

and as it is obvious, margot and erik (merik if u will) have opposing abilities in a way which helped come to fruition thanks to doha's big brain while plotting. but this is what sets margot and erik apart that even with their relationship, they dont mix and when they do it's somewhat unstoppable which is kinda hinted in one of the moodboards here (take your guesses!)

margot's abilities are heavily inspired by satoru gojo's reversal red (even outside of jjk, he hunts me down.) so there will be tons of similarities here and there which will be fun really. she's also inspired by sofia gigante from the penguin in some way, other than that, she's very much my new baby that i have birthed so i hope you enjoy this somewhat crazy dumpster fire of a fic
