Abhay and Pia returned to their apartment in New York City in a mixed state of emotions. They were happy to know that their own college friend was the witch who could help them, but they were confused and even worried about where and why Maithili had taken her away. Is it just to make sure that their baby does not come in this world safely or was there some other motive? If there was indeed some other motive, then what was it? Pia was now getting worried about what would happen to their baby if they don't find Maya on time. She could not control her emotions and started crying in tension. Abhay tried to console her, but he too was feeling helpless without any clue as to what to do. Nevertheless he embraced Pia and tried to console and reassure her by caressing her long tresses.

But Pia was crying continuously: Abhay, what will happen to our baby Abhay?

Abhay: calm down Pia, nothing will happen to our baby. We will find Maya soon.

"How Abhay and where? And for all we know Maithili may have already killed her." Pia shuddered at the thought. Till now she was only thinking about her baby, but just the thought of her once upon a time good friend meeting her end in such a way shook her heart and she felt bitter and painful tears running down from her eyes. But Abhay wiped those tears away and said: No Pia, I don't think Maithili would have killed her. If she had wanted to kill Maya, she could have killed her along with her grandma. But the fact that she ad kidnapped her makes me think that she has something else on her mind.

Pia: What can it be Abhay, other than making it difficult for our baby to come into this world.

Abhay: I don't know Pia, but there is something on her mind definitely. And there is some hidden mystery in Maithili not just kidnapping Maya but also not killing Claudia. She could have drank from her, but she did not and that makes me wonder what are her motives and what stopped Maithili from feeding on Claudia.

Pia: But didn't you say that Maithili has witches' curse on her?

Abhay: But she is not aware of it Pia. And she has black witch curse on her. Usually if a vampire feeds on both a black witch and a white witch then their powers multiply manifold. I know that powerless Claudia would not have helped Maithili, but Maya's blood surely would have done that for her and also made sure that our baby has no help for its birth, but she did not kill her, rather took her away. Then it clearly means she has something else on her mind. She is planning something big and sinister and for that she needs Maya's help.

Pia: Then how do we find out what she is planning Abhay. Abhay I am really scared!

Abhay: No Pia. You've got to be strong. We will find a way. And whatever happens, remember we both are always going to be together. I want to find Maya not just to make it safe for you and our baby but also to foil Maithili's evil plans, whatever they may be. But in case we are unable to find her in time, there still is a way out for you and our baby, though I would never want that to happen.

Pia: There is!!! What is it Abhay? Why didn't you tell me before? God Abhay, how can you still keep secrets from me? Don't you still trust me?

Abhay: No Pia, it's not a matter of trust! But I am scared and it's something I would never want to happen!

Pia: Speak it out Abhay! And now, you can no longer take decisions alone. Tell me what is it, and let me also decide what we can and what we can't do.

Abhay had no option but to tell Pia everything now. He first took her to bed and made her sit comfortably there. He then sat besides her, and made her rest her head on his shoulder and himself pulled her closer to himself holding her from her waist. He was as shaken as Pia himself and needed her support. It was almost as if time was slipping out of his hands taking his Pia along with it, and he was making the last few desperate attempts to keep her holding to herself. He then began telling her:

"Pia mom with her Gyane training and her vampiric powers can help deliver the baby safely, but it's going to kill you from inside. You would have very little life left inside you and your chances of surviving as a human would be negligible."

Pia interrupted and said, "Don't bother about me Abhay. If our baby can come safely to this world, there's nothing more that I want."

Abhay: no Pia, I can never lose you. You are the only reason for my existence. If you are not there, then I too will cease to exist. But it does not have to be this way. Though I hate the very idea, but as a last resort that's the only option I would have left with.

Pia: What is it Abhay?

Abhay: To turn you Pia. To change you into a monster like me. To make you a vampire like myself and condemn you to this dark life forever. Pia, this is what I always feared that one day my cursed existence would make your life also a curse. Pia..I..

But Pia placed her hand on Abhay's mouth to stop him from speaking any further and said: Stop it Abhay. How many times will I have to tell you that I have no life without you? My life begins and ends with you Abhay! And why do you keep calling yourself a monster Abhay? You are more humane than most humans around. What do humans do in present times Abhay: hey have no qualms killing anyone for their selfish greeds, but you saved so many lives without expecting anything in return. Humans take away every ounce of happiness from others just for their pleasure and you have always given so much to me to everyone without caring for your happiness. And Abhay, do you think I have not thought out what will happen 5 years down the line with us! While you will remain frozen at 19, I would have grown to be 23 and what after another 5 years, 10 years and so. I would start looking like your mom Abhay and we will not remain compatible. So sooner or later I know that I too would have to become a vampire to remain with you forever. SO what you are saying makes perfect sense Abhay. I wonder why you didn't think of this before.

Abhay: No Pia, I would never let you be a vampire if I can help it. We will find Maya soon enough and I think now there is only one way left for us to find Maya and Maithili.

Pia opened her mouth to say something but Abhay closed her mouth with his hand and said:"No more arguments now. We have had enough for today. I don't know what tomorrow is going to bring for us Pia, our lives are too messed up and surrounded by dangers from everywhere, so I just want to live this moment with you, with our love!"

Saying this, Abhay crushed his mouth to Pia's and they both began losing themselves in their love and passion. Abhay's hands and mouth caressed Pia's body as if trying to preserve it from all dangers surrounding them and Pia responded with a passion which spoke that she was ready to face all dangers as long as they both were together. They both collapsed in each other's love after some time, exhausted and tired from facing so many dangers, yet hopeful for a better tomorrow.
