Horsemen
A/N: Sorry I've made an mistake when making this
A/N: I just want to thank both of my new friends that are fans of this story @the battlecats2001 and @HasturKingInYellow for giving me some new ideas and helping me with the story. Hastur's idea did took a while to write about (the 05 and Y/N meeting each other and the world knowing about Y/N's existence) and I hope y'all waited patiently for this and for Battlecats a huge thanks for allowing me to use your OC in this and with some of the drawings commission.
A/N: Just gonna try to explain the Horsemen recent history.
A/N: Apocalyptic Objects - In the Book of Revelation, upon The Lamb's opening of the First Four Seals, Four Horsemen appear, "The first rode a White Horse and carried a Bow. A Crown was given to him, and he went forth as a Conqueror bent on Conquest". "The second rode a Red Horse and was given power to take peace from the earth, so that people would slaughter one another and he was given a Great Sword. The third rode a Black Horse and held a pair of Scales ⚖️ in his hand." There have been many widely different interpretations of these passages over the centuries, but most believe the Horsemen's strange items are but mere symbols of the calamities they wreak. Others have speculated that like the horses, these objects of the Apocalypse are tools, which would allow the Horsemen to channel malevolent energies and focus their powers to disastrous proportions. No one was ever quoted or even credited for these particular speculations, as for the role of the given Crown, it remains unknown. But the fact that it is given, not taken, indicates a third person giving authority to the Rider to accomplish his work.
A/N: Death (Pale horse rider) - "Death on a Pale Horse" Of the many artistic renditions of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, this first version of Benjamin West's painting was the one Death chose to keep hanged in her domain. Incidentally, when the artists unveiled a new version of the painting 20 years later, with Christ as Rider of the White Horse in an effort to instill Hope of Salvation, Death and her brethren quietly disapproved. Benjamin West was found dead in his house a couple years later. Unlike the other Horsemen, Death goes by several different names across mythologies and cultures. "Thanatos, Smierc, Hein, Yama..." although she used them all over the centuries. She never really liked the name "Death". Unlike the Angel of Death (Asrael, Charon, Santa Muerte, or Ankou) Death isn't a Psychopomp, meaning she is not in charge of guiding the souls of the deceased to an afterlife. She is just a dealer of Death, and undoubtedly the most powerful of the Four Horsemen.
A/N: Famine (Black horse rider) - "The Great Famine of 1315" Following the unusually awful weather in Europe during the spring of 1315, which made flowing the fields impossible. Heavy rains began rotting some of the seed grain long before it could even germinate, the harvest became far smaller than usual, and the food reserves of countless families were quickly depleted. This was the first in a series of large scale crisis that struck Europe early in the 14th century. By the spring of 1317, all classes of society were suffering. Draft animals were slaughtered, seed grain was eaten, infants and young children were abandoned. Many of the elderly voluntarily starved themselves so that the youngest members of the family might live to work the fields again, and there were numerous reports of cannibalism... those were later claimed by most to be nothing but rumors and largely ignored.
A/N: Pestilence (White Horse rider) - "The Black Death" easily one of the deadliest pandemics in recorded history, the Black Death or Bubonic Plague was transmitted primarily by fleas and rodents. The stomachs of the fleas were infected with bacteria known as "Yersina Pest". The fleas infected rodents, which then spread the disease to other rodents. From which other fleas were infected, and so on. As their hosts died out, the fleas migrated to the bodies of humans and infected them in the same fashion, spreading the Plauge. From Italy, the disease spread northwest across Europe, striking Spain, Portugal, France and England by June 1348. There are no exact figures for the death toll, but Norwegian Historian Ole J. Benedictow suggested a death rate of 60% in Europe alone. The Plague would return many times across the centuries, eventually reaching North America in the early 1900's. The Horsemen riding the White Horse is indeed sometimes referred to as Conquest. That is not actually his name, but he is described as a "Conqueror bent on Conquest" in the book of Revelation. It is said the Four Horsemen "were given power to kill by Sword, Famine, and Plague." Which led others to later rename that same Horseman Plague or Pestilence. The reasons being that Conquest is manually an aspect of War, making the roles of two Horsemen slightly redundant (although the same could be said of Famine and Pestilence). The second reason was the symbolism of The Bow the Pale Horse rider is said to carry, in Greco Roman myth, the Archer God Apollo was also known as "The Deliver from Pestilence". Creating a lasting connection between archers and the Plague (Example, Saint Sebastian's patronage includes the title "Protector from the Plague" as a result of his Martyrdom at the hands of his own archers).
A/N: War (Red horse rider) - "The Hundred Year War" the name "Hundred Year War" has been used by historians since the beginning of the 19th century to describe the remarkably long conflict that pitted the kings and kingdoms of France and England against each other from 1337 to 1453. With more than a dozen belligerent nations and our fifty deadly battles. (The deadliest of which was fought near Verneuil in August 1424), the Hundred Year's War had a death toll of nearly four million souls. After the facts, it was actually considered a milestone in the development of national consciousness in Europe. Sadly, the rivalry persisted and the conflict eventually began anew over the 18th century, later baptized the Second Hundred Years War.
A/N: Overall during the 14th and 15th centuries, these horrific events took their toll on Europe. Famine, Disease, and War brought Death and devastation in many forms. Many god fearing people believed The End of the World had arrived, and these events signaled the arrival of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. As it turned out the Horsemen had been there long before, but these events did have some grave consequences. They brought them together.
A/N: The Horsemen's weapons the weapons they received helps increase their influence on their targets and helps them use their unique abilities that they could never been able to use without their weapons.
A/N: Death's scythe - The Pale rider's main weapon. Death's Scythe... Death never really got a chance to use her scythe to it's fullest potential mostly cause she was dealing with just humans and the influence she had with them many centuries ago was giving them death. Death's Scythe is an interesting weapon for it can shrink and grow whether if the wielder wants it to or not. It can also stretch helping doing some AOE damage along with turning it into a spear at will you can also cause the handle part to latch onto your arm only having the blade sticking out acting as an arm blade. Death used this weapon to summon any souls to assist her with any task given, slice people to pieces, increase her influence on humans, or go golfing. Death knows everyone's history of how they were born and how they will die. As we both know now Death's scythe was finally revealed by 05-1 and he was keeping it hidden this whole time.
A/N: War's sword - A great sword he uses to slice and increase his influence on his targets. War was never a killer for he has never killed anybody he only gets others to kill each other for him. His sword grows stronger as long as there is anger around it. The sword will siphon the target's anger War will use the siphoned anger to increase the power of his swings or shoot dangerous air blades at his targets. He and his steed Hatred can both cause others to grow angry and kill each other with or without the sword, but the sword helps increase the influence. They both love seeing a battlefield happen before them but unlike War, Hatred doesn't mind killing a few people with his own hands. As we both know War's sword was stolen by Wrath but was soon reclaimed by Hatred when he and Hunger were searching for Y/N. War's essence is flowing through the blade.
A/N: Famine's scale - One of the mysterious weapons to wield Famine and Hunger are the only ones that knows how to use it. Famine and Hunger can cause food around them to decay with or without the scales. The scales helps Famine and Hunger cause their targets to grow hungry to which the targets will begin to resort into cannibalism. With the scales they can remove the fat on their target's body to make them immobile. If they wanted to they could also support by giving allies protein or calories or some cells to help strengthen them. Although Famine and Hunger likes to cause food shortages they both love to eat a lot and they're both will never resort into cannibalism. Unlike Famine Hunger is more of a sadistic type. As we know Hunger kept Famine's scales this whole time and it is unknown of Famine's whereabouts and if he's still alive.
A/N: Conquest's (Pestilence's) bow - Pestilence and Fever has the ability to speak with any kind of diseases around them and can command them either infect the targets around them or leave them alone. With the Bow Pestilence and Fever should be able to infect any arrows they shoot with any kind of diseases to infect their targets from afar. To anyone infected by a dangerous disease Fever or Pestilence can remove the disease from the person's body easily. If they wanted they could also enhance the target's cells in their bodies to make them stronger. As we know 049 was revealed to be Pestilence and kept his bow, but sadly his steed Fever didn't live however Fever's essence is now flowing through his bow and Fever was actually alive but she was revealed to be Scp 027 and now Fever is latched onto 049. 049 now has the ability to control any pest thanks to Fever.
A/N: The Horsemen can combine their abilities and influences to create a devastating disaster for example with Famine/Hunger and Pestilence/Fever's abilities combined they can create a zombie outbreak. Famine/Hunger will make people into cannibals whilst Pestilence/Fever will infect a virus on the cannibals which will spread when the cannibals comes into contact to people just by biting or scratching them the cannibals will turn the people into cannibals in other words into zombies. Makes you wonder what other combinations the other Horsemen can do.
A/N: Babylon - Along with the Horsemen of the Apocalypse, the Beast and the Great Dragon. The Book of Revelation mentions a female figure playing a role in the Apocalypse. A willing and powerful servant of evil, drunk in the blood of the righteous and later referred to as the Whore of Babylon or Babylon the Great. "17.3 I saw a woman sitting in a scarlet beast. Which was full of blasphemous names, and it has seven heads and ten horns. 17.4 the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and jewels and pearls. Holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her fornication, and on her forehead was written a name of mystery." Her given name Babylon is a direct reference to the Mesopotamian city. Which is sometimes called Babel after the tower said to have been erected there in Genesis. The phrase "Tower of Babel" does not actually appear in the Bible. It is always "The Cory and the Tower" or just "The City". The original derivation of the name Babel, which is also the Hebrew name for Babylon, is uncertain. The native "Gate of God", but that interpretation itself is thought to be the result of an Akkadian folk etymology applied to an earlier form of the name, Babilla of unknown meaning. According to the Bible the city received the name "Babel" from the Hebrew verb Balal, meaning to jumble or confuse. As for the word "Whore" it can also be translated metaphorically as "Idolatress", which gave the female figure a third and far less popular appellation: The Confused Idolatress.
A/N: Sacred Promise - In the Gospel of St.Mathew it is said that. Shortly before his arrest and crucifixion, Jesus Christ was teaching his disciples about the true nature of his messianic kingdom, where all of the common human values were to be turned upside down (Honor gained through Servitude, Revenge replaced by Forgiveness, true Wealth acquired through Charity, etc). As he prepared them for his absence, and to insure the creation of his church after his departure, this servant king made a Sacred Promise to his disciples. "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of Heaven, and whatever you bind on Earth shall be bond in Heaven, and whatever you loose on Earth shall be loosed in Heaven. Again I say to you, if two of you agree on Earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in Heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them". Naturally, the Messiah's Promise was to help young Peter deal with Sun after he became Pope and the very first leader of the Catholic Church, by granting him and the rest of his disciples the authority to guide and pass judgment over the faults of men. Whatever they as a church declared binding, that decision would be ratified in Heaven. This power was extended not only to the Apostles, but to the whole society of which they were the representatives, so to forever allow the respect of collective morals (granted they weren't contradictory to the servant Messiah's original teachings). Sadly, later in history, the Church would wield that very power to allow colonialism, slavery and female oppression. As well as condone the countless wars against heretics, sinners, and external enemies of the faith. As they say, "The Devil is in the details".
A/N: Revelation - The Horsemen have always been known for the role they play in Revelation, also known as The Apocalypse or John. This book prophecies was anonymously addressed to seven churches in the Roman province of Asia, in the form of several letters, approximately towards the end of the first century. It was the last book to be accepted into the Christian Biblical canon. It speaks of a scroll, protected by Seven Seals that only one person may open, this person "The Lamb", can be interpreted to be Christ or one whose wrath would be equally worthy... opening the first Four Seals summons the Four Horsemen, who in turn are granted weapons and powers to wreak havoc on our world. Their riding allows the opening of the remaining Seals, which conjures the souls of Martyrs, causes an earthquake that turn the sun black and the moon red, makes the stars fall from the sky and finally, allows the Devil and his spawn to take dominion over earth. No one knows who John really was, or how and why these prophecies came to him, the name "Revelation" is actually a translation of the very first word in his book: Apokalypsis.
A/N: The Antichrist - Born on the 6th of June 2006, and supposedly the product of a new virgin birth, The Child's name and whereabouts are currently unknown. Eventually, due to the dark nature of this birth, The Child's coming was linked by both the church and the council to the prophecy of The Antichrist. According to the New Testament, the Antichrist, or False Prophet, would act as the Devil's Messiah. One sent on earth to act as the ultimate beacon of evil. Achieve world domination and bring about the end of all things. Much like the Four Horsemen in the Book of Revelation, where he is referred to simply as The Second Beast, The Antichrist is destined to play an integral part in the coming of the Apocalypse. This Beast however is never fully described in Revelation: it is only said to have the powers and words "of a Dragon"... and the horns "of a Lamb".
A/N: The Metatron - Supposedly the highest Archangel, the Metatron (aka Prince of Countenance) claims himself a celestial scribe, one who keeps records and often plays the role of heavenly interlocutor, charged with delivering knowledge to those deemed worthy. Despite common beliefs the existence of such a being was never actually mentioned anywhere in the Bible, but rather in some mystical texts from the Middle Ages as well as various occult books and rituals. Many within the clergy agree that Metatron probably doesn't even exists. In fact, some of the legends concerning him are dubious and decidedly unbiblical. Namely because there is only one known Mediator between God and Men and it is certainly not an Angel.
Piercer: What the hell are you talking about?
A/N: I just felt like giving this information out.
Piercer: Ok you do you.
