Chapter 8: Rules

Did I heard it right? Kira Monteverde? I'm trying to convince myself that it's possibly the other Kira Monteverde but I saw Shaun looked at me with that smirk still on his face so it's legit me.

Napatingin naman ako sa mga estudyanteng nakakakilala sa akin.

'Diba siya yung babaeng kinalaban ang President kahapon?'

'Oo siya yon'

'Lagot siya. She will be experiencing hell'

I tsked. Experiencing hell? Ilang beses ko na yang napagdaanan. It's nothing surprising anymore.

Ibinalik ko ang tingin sa stage at nakitang wala na doon si Shaun at ang members nang Student Council. Tanging si Principal Victoria nalang ang naiwan doon.

"To Kira Monteverde, I heard you're a transferee. Please proceed to the Dean after school for more informations about being a Personal Assistant. That's all, dismissed" aniya at unti unti namang nagsilabasan ang mga estudyante.

Tumayo na din ako at nagsimula nang lumabas. So he wants me to be their Personal Assistant? Bring it on.

I didn't go to the cafeteria today because i'm not really that hungry yet. Dumiretso nalang akong naglakad papuntang dorm. Pagkapasok na pagkapasok ko ay may dalawang bagahe akong nakita.

Lumapit naman ako doon sa mga bagahe at tinignan ito. Yep. She's here.

Lumabas naman galing sa bathroom so Yugen habang pinupunasan ang kaniyang basang buhok. Nang makita ako ay kaagad siyang tumakbo papunta sa akin at niyakap ako. I hugged her back.

"Kei! I miss you so much!" anya habang nakayakap siya sa akin. I chuckled.

"I miss you too, Yugen. Kamusta ang flight?" tanong ko.

Sumimangot naman siya sa akin. "Ayun, jet lag na jet lag ako kaya I took a quick bath na muna" imporma niya.

"Magpahinga ka na muna. Btw, kumain ka na ba?" tanong ko. She nodded.

"Yep, nag lunch na ako bago pumunta dito. Ikaw?"

Umiling ako. "Not yet. Di pa ako gutom" sabi ko bago humiga sa kama ko.

"You should eat, Kei" aniya. Umiling ako at umayos nang upo bago siya tinignan.

"Nah, i'm not in the mood to eat since I'll be PA. I don't know but i'm bothered by it"

"PA? Like personal assistant?" tanong niya. Tumango ako.

"Yep. Nakapunta kaba sa Amphitheater kanina?" tanong ko. Umiling siya. Kaya naman pala.

"Well, Shaun Darshall chose me to be the Student Council's personal assistant. I hate him. I hate his smirk. It was like he's enjoying this. I don't think I will be a PA, Yugen. I think I will be a slave! And I accepted this mission because I will be a spy not a fucking slave!" aniya ko.

I really hate his guts. At sa harap pa talaga nang maraming tao niya iyon sinabi. Good thing people knew me as Kira Monteverde and not Keira Donquixote or else it would be a humiliation for me.

"Chill, Kei. This is a mission. Don't let your emotions control you. I know you hate the idea of having a low profile but just bear for it a little. And besides, you're Keira Donquixote. I know you can do it. If you think that he's playing with you then play with him too" aniya.

"I know, Yugen. That's why if he thinks that I will just cry here in the corner then he's totally wrong. Being a PA is a great advantage for me" I smirked.

Normal na natapos ang buong hapon ko. May mga taong napapatingin sakin minsan but I just ignored them.

Nagtungo na ako sa Dean's office just like what the Principal told me to. Kumatok muna ako bago pumasok. Pagkapasok ko ay nakita kong kausap nang Dean si Shaun. On the other side, Shaun is smiling while talking to the Dean. No, he's not really smiling it's a combination of smile and smirk.

Napadako ang tingin nilang dalawa sa akin. Dean told mo to sit so I did while Shaun looked at me with his usual smirk. Pwede ba akong lumabas muna at kumuha nang sinulid at tahiin yang bibig niya? His smirks irritates me!

"I'll be going now, Dean. Remember what I told you" aniya bago tumayo. He took a quick glance at me before going out from the Dean's office.

Tsk. Cocky bastard.

Napabaling ang tingin ko sa Dean nang tumikhim ito. "So Keira Monteverde, you'll be a PA starting from now on. If you hate the idea then I'm sorry I can't help you with that. That's just how Sylvian High works. Di pa ako nagtratrabaho dito ay yon na ang patakaran. And besides, babayaran ka naman nang school so it's a win-win situation" paliwanag niya. I just nodded. This is for the sake of my mission so I must do it.

Kahit di na nila ako bayaran. I don't care about money. Marami ako non.

May kinuha siyang papel sa kaniyang drawer at ipinakita ito sa akin. "This is the contract you need to sign to be a PA for the Student Council President. It's just a one year contract" aniya at tinuro kung saan ako pipirma.

Wait a minute. Personal assistant for the Student Council President? Akala ko sa buong Student Council ako magiging PA? Did I heard it wrong? No, that's not it. I know I heard it right. Why did they changed it?

I looked at the Dean. "What with the sudden change of plans, Dean? I thought I would be a PA for the Student Council? Ba't naging sa Student Council President na lang?" tanong ko.

The Dean sighed. "I can't do anything about it, Ms. Montiverde. That's what Shaun Darshall wants. I can't defy him" aniya.

"Why not?" I asked. This is so confusing.

The Dean massages his forehead before looking back at me. "Yeah right, you're a transferee so you don't know. Listen, Ms. Montiverde. Shaun Darshall, Niell Traff, Garett Vinn, and Zachary Hagane are all part of the S-class. I know you know the rules of the Undergroun Society, Ms. Montiverde. Kung ano ang gusto nila yun ang masusunod" paliwanag niya.

Of course, I freaking know the rules! That damn Shaun! He's using his power for his own entertainment!

"Shaun Darshall came to me to change the plan. I can't do anything but to do it. The rest of the members of the Student Council agreed because it's what the Studen Council President wants" dagdag niya pa.

Kaya pala nandito si Shaun kanina. Nginitian pa ako ng gago bago umalis. Balak niya akong alilain.

I can't do anything but to nod. Tamad kong pinirmahan ang kontrata na hindi binabasa ang rules. What's the purpose of the rules kung si Shaun at ang mga kaibigan niya lang din naman ang susundin nang school?

Bago umalis, binigyan ako ng Dean nang isang pin na ilalagay sa uniform. Mark daw iyon na ako ang PA nang Student Council President. Kailangan ko daw yon suotin araw araw.

Sinabihan din siya ni Shaun na pagkatapos namin mag usap nang Dean ay didiretso ako nang Headquarters nila. I saw their headquarters two times already but I've never been there. As if naman gusto kong pumunta don. I was just forced to.

Kaya ngayon naglalakad na ako papuntang likuran nang school para puntahan ang HQ nila. Napatingin ako sa wrist watch ko at ala syete na nang gabi. Nag text muna ako kay Yugen na papunta ako sa HQ nila Shaun bago nagpatuloy sa paglalakad.

Nang nasa pintuan ako ay nagdoorbell muna ako. Ilang minuto akong naghintay bago pinagbuksan nang pinto. Si Zachary ang nagbukas nang pinto.

"Oh hey" aniya

"Hi. I'm Kira Monteverde. Shaun's assigned PA" saad ko.

"I know"

"Yeah" aniya ko nalang. Damn this is akward.

Binuksan niya nang buo ang pinto hudyat na pwede na akong pumasok. Pagkapasok ko ay kaagad namang sinara ni Zachary ang pinto.

"Nasa living room yung iba" aniya bago naglakad. Sumunod naman ako.

Nang nasa living room kami ay malakas na ingay galing sa speaker ang bumungad sa akin.

May mga babaeng hindi ko kilala ang nandito. There was six of them. May dalawa kay Garett at kay Shaun naman ay dalawa din. Naglalaro sila nang chess malapit sa malaking bintana. May dalawa din kay Niell na siyang naglalaro nang ps5 sa sala. Si Zachary naman ay pumuntang kusina para daw kumuha ng beer.

The whole living room is so loud and messy. And mga babae ay nakapaligid lang sa kanila.

I thought no one are allowed to go here? Nang makabalik si Zachary ay tinanong ko siya. Sinabi niya na pwedeng pumasok as long as pumayag silang apat.

Damn, may kaniya kaniya silang ginagawa. What the hell am I suppose to do here?
