'Love in his Lie' First Edit Complete - 5/30/18
I finished up the first edit for 'Love in his Lie' today. It was not nearly as bad as I remembered it. I suppose the fact I had somehow ripped four other novels out of me before this one and was in the process of buying and moving into a house, had something to do with my opinion on the book. It was not as messy as I thought it was, which made the edit a lot easier. It had quite a few continuity errors (Wes's eye color changed midway through the book), but that was the majority of my edits. So I'm definitely feeling better about it.
Not sure what I'll do for a short story yet. I don't plan on doing a sequel for this, so that kind of leaves the short wide open for possibilities, though I think I have some idea of what I want. Hopefully I can get the short down on paper by the end of this week since I won't be starting the second edit until next Monday.
As for the title, I think I'll keep it as is. I thought maybe I should make some terrible bakery related pun, but I still think this title fits fairly well so I'm not sure it's worth the hassle of trying to figure out a new title. However, it is not lost on me that two of my novels have the words "love" and "lie" in them. One has got to change and since I despise the title 'The Business of Love and Lies' it obviously needs to be that one, but lord help me I have no idea what to change it to... And I'm running out of time to figure out what I want to title it. At some point I really need to begin work on creating a web site and getting things in place for hyping up releases. I just hate marketing with a passion. I hated it my first go around with self-publishing and I hate just as much now. Still, it needs to be done... But that's tomorrow's problem, although at some point I'm going to run out of tomorrows...
