Chapter 6

Swords of Wisdom

Six

Four Elements

🔯

Days, weeks, Months and a year had past since the death of King Ronan and Queen Idan.

Everything has been going alright in Overland. Queen Jane had now spent most of her time running the Kingdom and looking after her new born baby.
Jack however, was now 10 years old, was training with his mentor Elijah and hanging out with his eight year old friend, Kristoff.
Jack learned how to control his powers; his staff, was a lot of help. It was like, his staff was the half of him. Without it, he could not send a blast of snow or anything; he could just do frost. So he had to take care of it, even if it means that he would have to take it around with him. He also learned how to fly. He had begun to remember what he had done when he fought those bandits. He called out to the wind, and the wind obeyed. He felt like he was lifted off the ground.

Ever since he learned how to fly, his idea of fun had gotten the best of him. He'd always dragged Kristoff around and they both used to play. Sometimes inside the castle too; he would make snow and all kinds of things that are related to fun.

After nine months, Jane had given birth. Jack was happy to have a new sister; she had her dad's red hair and green eyes. Jack always liked to carry her, but Jane let him hold her once at a time because she was afraid he might drop her. Jack loved her dearly, just like he did with Sally; but he knew that having a new sister wouldn't take over the hurt he felt when Sally was gone, he would do anything so he wouldn't loose another sister.

Jack rubbed his hands as he looked down at the sea. Jane received an invitation from DunBroch. She wanted Jack to come along as well because the DunBroch family were old friends of theirs.

"Jack?"

Jack looked behind him and saw Jane. She was holding Marian in her arms. Jack turned and looked directly at her.

"Are you hungry?" asked Jane. "We've been on the ship for hours, you know."

Jack shook his head. "I'm fine."
Jane nodded. She came and stood next to him.  "What was the invitation about?"

Jane looked at him. "It is their daughter's 5th birthday."

Jack nodded, "Oh."

Arendalle

"Anine, hurry up!" Edger was waiting with the horses while Elsa was calling for Anine. The five year old girl ran out and came down the six steps.

"I'm here!" She took Elsa's hand and they both walked to their dad.

Edger came over to Elsa to help her up. "No, I got it." Edger picked her up and put her on the horse without listening. He picked up Anine and sat her in front of him. They rod off to the temple; Elsa glanced back when they've left the gate.

They were getting near the temple. Anine was enjoying the ride with her dad while Elsa was trying to catch up with them.

"Elsa, when we get there I want you to stay with Anine while I get Philip, okay?" Edger glanced back at Elsa.

"Okay," nodded Elsa. "And could you slow down?" The horse did not slow down, it just kept going. "Dad?" called Elsa, sounding slightly irritated. Edger did not reply. Elsa growled and muttered, "Oh great, now I'm starting to think he has a hearing problem."

"I heard that!" Edger smiled down at Anine when she snickered.

Elsa rolled her eyes but still smiled. Good thing her dad's becoming his playful self again; he hadn't been like that for a while.

They've arrived at the temple in about twenty minutes.

Edger went into a room to call Philip.

Anine and Elsa looked around the big room that they were in. They hadn't come here too often so they both took the change to see what this temple looked like from the inside.

"Elsa." Elsa looked at Anine with a raised eyebrow. "Why are we here again?"

"We're here so we could know what powers you have," replied Elsa.

Anine furrowed her eyebrows. "Why? Didn't I have water power?"

"Yes but we just need to be sure," shrugged Elsa. Honestly, she too was confused. When Edger knew that Anine had the power of water, he was happy. Elsa couldn't understand why her dad thought that Anine has some more powers. If it is true, what are they?

The doors opened and a man walked out. "Princesses, you may come now." Elsa and Anine followed the man into the other room.

The floors were covered in green tiles. There was nothing in the room except gold portraits.
Edger was standing with Philip beside a white table. Elsa and Anine came to them. The table was a square shape, and in the middle was a basin. The table was elegantly carved with markings; it seems to be words but Elsa can't tell.

"Princess Anine," said Philip, smiling down at Anine. "I've heard you've got the power of water, that's nice. But you haven't been brought here to see what your powers are before, so now we have to."

Anine looked at Edger. Edger gave her a reassuring smile and nodded.

Philip took a stool and put it near the table. "This is a mystical basin," he said, pointing at the basin. "It has been with us for hundreds of years. Each kingdoms of magic has one of those. When your face touches the water, you'll see what powers you have. Did you discover any of them yet?"

Anine thought for a moment. "I don't know. Ever since I found out about my water power, I've been using it. But, I don't know how long but sometimes when I tried to band water, fire always pops out of hand."

"Fire?" asked Edger.

"So that explains why the curtain was burning," muttered Elsa.

"Sorry," whispered Anine to Elsa.

Philip nodded, "Interesting. Okay come." Anine stood on top of the stool and looked down at the water that was in the basin.
"When you are seeing your powers, I will be seeing it too."

Anine took a deep breath. "Oh you can breathe in that water," said Philip. Anine raised an eyebrow. She let out the breath she was holding, she held the sides of the table and placed her face in the water.

Philip closed his eyes, "Mir soy e das."

Elsa watched as the carvings on the table moved. Anine's hand tightened and started to vibrate a little.

Elsa's eyes widen, "I thought you said she could breathe!" She looked at Philip, hoping he had heard her, but he was too busy saying the spell. Elsa tried to go to her but a hand held her shoulder, she looked up and saw her dad.

Anine stopped moving and calmed down.

Waters were floating and bubbling. After that was the Fire, flaming rapidly. After that were the rocks in different shapes. Then there was the wind, blowing leaves, and then it turned into a blizzard. The waters, fires, rocks and wind flew to a figure that looks to be a woman; she was standing on a cliff. They all surround her. Her hair was a green colour. The water came crossed her so did the rocks, the fire surround her and the wind blew fast around her. She opened her eyes and her eyes were a strange colour. She swings her hand, sending the fire towards-

Anine's had shot up and she fell down. Elsa ran towards her and helped her up.

"Anine, are you okay?" asked Elsa as she cleaned her face.

Philip opened his eyes, looking a little bit shocked.

"What is it?" asked Edger, looking at Philip and then at Anine.

"I got to say King Edger," said Philip. "Your daughter has the powers of the four elements that are very rare."

"The four elements?" asked Edger, he looked at Anine. "That's very unusual for a little girl to achieve that much power."

"But there's a problem," said Philip.

Edger raised an eyebrow. "What sort of problem?"

"She could only use each element in four hours."

"What?" asked Elsa. "Why can't she just use all of them?"

"The time when she would be able to use all of them, it's when she's in her true potential."

"What do you mean?"

Philip sighed. "You'll see in the future."

DunBroch

"Welcome to DunBroch! "

Jack looked around. This was the first time he's been here to DunBroch.

"Thank you," said Jane to the sails man who had just welcomed them.

"Jack!"

Jack turned around and saw Kristoff running to him. Jack's eyes widen in surprise. "What are you doing here?"

"Well I thought you would be bored so I told him to come," said Jane with a smile.

Jack grinned, "Thanks mother."

"You twos can go play".

"Really?" asked Jack.

Jane nodded. "Sure, Fergus and Eleanor aren't here yet. Marian and I will head to the castle, come later."

Jack nodded. "Okay, thanks again."

Jack and Kristoff ran away.

"Where are we going?" asked Kristoff.

"Exploring," replied Jack.

They both ran into the woods not too far away. Jack was running ahead while Kristoff was coming behind.

"Jack!" called Kristoff. "Slow down!"

"Try to keep up!" Jack kept running while laughing at Kristoff.

"Huhh!"

Jack stopped on his tracks. Kristoff came behind him. "What is it?"

"Did you hear that?" Jack glanced back at Kristoff. They both heard the scream again. They both looked to the left and their eyes widen.
