Chapter 11

Swords of Wisdom

Eleven

Black Stranger

🔯

Kristoff stayed behind the tree while the three girls stayed behind the bush. They were all looking down at the campsite. There was a big tent and four solders were standing on guard. There were many men down there; some were sharpening their swords and knifes while the others were gathered around a big pot, eating their lunch.

Suddenly they heard a growl. The three girls looked at Kristoff who was rubbing his stomach. Kristoff looked at them. "What? I haven't eaten anything."

They shook their heads and looked back at the campsite. "I don't see him," said Merida.

”He could be in the tent,” said Maria. ”What's the plan?”

”Let's wait till sun down,” said Kristoff. ”They won't be able to see us in the dark."

”Crystal could teleport inside the tent,” suggest Merida.

”That's NOT a good idea" said Crystal. ”We're not even sure if he's in the tent.”

”Yeah and if we weren't so blind we would have notice that there's some prisoners over there,” Maria pointed to the side. There were three men, tied on two posts. Two were tied on one post and the other was tied on the other. ”I'm guessing he's one of them. We just have to wait.”

They waited till it was dark.

”Can we go now?” asked Maria. ”I'm bored sitting like this."

”Yeah I think we should go,” said Merida and they all stood up.

”Wait!” said Kristoff stopping them from taking any steps.

A carriage passed by them and went to a stop near the tent. A man opened the door and two people stepped out. The carriage was blocking them so they couldn't see who they were. The two people went inside the tent.

"I wonder who they were," said Kristoff.

"Who cares? Let's go," said Maria. She led the way and they all sneaked to the campsite.

Merida and Kristoff stood behind some trees that were surrounding the campus. Maria and Crystal stood behind the big tent, trying to eavesdrop on their conversation.

”Make sure Arden doesn't do anything stupid to ruin the plan,” said a female voice.

"He won't," said a male voice. ''He wants to burn down the entire village." Maria held back a gasp while Crystal's eyes widen.

"He needs to get it first before he does that," said the female voice. "You guys already have his son so he will speak, we just have to wait. If he doesn't, burn down the village to ashes and make sure no one gets out alive; we could still look for some ways to find it."

Crystal took Maria's dagger and did a small hole so she could peek at whoever is that woman that is planning to burn down the village. She only saw a man sitting on a table facing the two people. The woman's back was turn so she couldn't see her face. The woman does not look like a royal or important person; she was all in black clothes; her arms were folded across her chest. She tilted her head to the side, making her black shoulder length hair get in the way so that Crystal couldn't see her face. The man sitting beside her was wearing a black hood making it hard for Crystal to see him.

Seriously, who are those two? Thought Crystal as she let out a small groan. She moved back and looked at Maria who was giving her a confused look. She didn't have time to noticed that the two people inside had already spotted her.

Meanwhile, Merida and Kristoff were waiting for the two men to go away. Kristoff felt like they wont leave, so he took a stone and threw it on the far side, away from all of them. The stone hit the bucket, making a loud noise. Both of the men's heads snapped to the side. They both went over to check it out.

Merida took that time to shot two arrows to the posts. The arrows landed on the ropes, tearing them. The three men looked startled and frightened. They looked over to where Kristoff and Merida were. Merida and Kristoff gestured for them to come. They slowly got up and tried to go to them. But the two men were back.

"What? How did they get freed?'' asked the first man when he saw them. They ran to them, holding out their weapons.

"Oh shoot!" Merida shot her arrows at the two men.

Kristoff jumped down and looked at the three men. "Follow me!" Kristoff turned around and started running away.

Maria and Crystal followed behind them as they all ran. "Why aren't they following us?!" asked Merida out loud.

Kristoff stopped on his tracks making all of them bumped into him. "Why'd you stopped?" asked Merida.

"That's why," said Kristoff, answering both her questions. They all looked up ahead. There stood a black figure in a black robe with a hood that covered his face. Kristoff furrowed his eyebrows. "You all take the other way; I'll deal with this one."

Crystal led the three men away while Maria followed behind.

"Why aren't you moving?" Kristoff asked, seeing that Merida is not leaving with them.

"I'm helping you," said Merida, taking out one of her arrows. She steadied her hand shot it straight to the figure. The figure suddenly disappeared into thin air. Kristoff and Merida eyes widen in surprise. "What the hell?"

Suddenly the figure appeared in front of Kristoff, punching him, sending him flying backwards. Merida shot an arrow but then it disappeared again. The person appeared behind Merida and kicked her down.
Kristoff hurriedly put his arms around the person and tighten his grip so the person won't get away.

Merida took out an arrow. "Keep him still, Kristoff!"

"What does it look I'm doing!"

The person broke free; he did a back flip over Kristoff and kicked his back. Kristoff turned around and was met with a foot. He fell down, grunting. The person disappeared before Merida could shoot.

Merida ran towards Kristoff. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah," said Kristoff as he held his back that was hurting.

''He got away!"

"It's not a he, I think it's a she," said Kristoff as Merida helped him up.

Merida raised an eyebrow. "How do you know?"

"Well my hand accidentally touched her-"

"I get it!" said Merida, not wanting Kristoff to finish.

Meanwhile, the group had already left the camp and now was in the forest.

Crystal stopped and turned around. "Maria, you guys wait here, I'll go back for Kristoff and Merida."

Maria nodded and Crystal left them. She turned around and looked at the three guys.

"Thank you for saving us," said the blonde one. My names Carl and this is Jason and Matthew," he pointed at the two twins. Jason had black hair while Mathew has brown hair but their looks were the same. They both were the same height, 5'8.

"I'm Maria. Is one of you Georgia's brother?"

"Yeah, that's me," said Carl. "Did she send you?"

"Yeah," nodded Maria.

"Is the pretty ginger hair girl going to okay, by her self?" asked Jason. "I can go after her."

"No I should go," said Matthew.

Maria raised an eyebrow. "Crystal can take care of herself."

Crystal ran out of the forest and before she could entre the campsite, a sword flew straight at her. She ducked and the sword missed her. The flying sword came back again and this time Crystal caught it with her hand. A black figure jumped down and stood in front of her. Crystal was sure that he wasn't the one fighting with Merida and Kristoff since he was much taller like 6'5. And she could tell that he was a guy because of his build.

The stranger took his sword and charged at Crystal and tried to cut her but Crystal blocked him with the sword in her hands. They both fought, each blade made contact with force.

It lasted for a whole minute until Crystal's blade made contact with his shoulder and she sidekick him, sending him down to the ground. When Crystal saw that he wasn't moving, she went over to him and kneeled down. She removed his mask and let out a small gasp. It was a guy, no older than 21 with light brown hair.
Before she could do anything, his eyes snapped open. He kicked Crystal off of him and got up; he took the sword from Crystal's hand and ran away. Crystal just sat there, not sure what just happened.

"Crystal!!" Crystal looked behind her and saw Merida and Kristoff running towards her. Kristoff pulled her up to her feet. ''Come on! They're after us!''

They all ran into the forest and saw Maria. "What happened?"

"Let's go!" said Merida. They all ran back.

"This is the way to the village," said Carl when they reached two paths. They followed Carl.

~Skip Time~

They arrived at the village. The villagers were happy to see Carl and the twins back home safe.

"Carl!" Georgia came past the crowed and hugged her brother. She let go and looked at them. "Thank you so much."

"No problem," said Merida.

"Can we see your father? We need to talk with him," said Crystal.

"Yeah, follow me." Georgia led the way to a house. She opened the door and they all went in. "Father, they're here." Georgia's father smiled when he saw Carl. He went over and hugged him.

"I'm so glad you're back."

"Um Mr.?" said Maria, not knowing what to call him.

"Call me Mr. Samoa," he smiled at them.

"Okay, Mr. Samoa," said Crystal, nodding. "We want to talk to you about something."

"Sure," said Mr. Samoa. "Please, come."

Before they could seat down, someone came through the other door and it was someone Crystal did not expect to see. She quickly took out her bow and arrow. "What are you doing here?"

"Crystal, calm down!" said Georgia as she went and stood next to him. "This is Derek, he's with us."

"With you?" asked Crystal in disbelief. "He tried to kill me!'' Crystal remembered him clearly. "He was at the campsite where we went to rescue Carl!"

"He was there because I sent him," said Mr. Samoa. Crystal furrowed her eyebrows but lowered her bow. "He was back when we arrived so I sent him."

Crystal looked at Derek who was staring at her. "Sorry, I thought you were one of them," he apologized.

"One of who?" asked Crystal.

"Arden's soldiers," said Derek.

"I did not dress like one," said Crystal, rudely.

Derek raised an eyebrow and walked towards her. Before Crystal could move, Mathew and Jason stepped in front of her and glared at Derek. Since Derek was taller than them, he just looked down at them like they were ants. He walked past those two and went past Crystal. When his blue eyes met hers, he just scoffed and went out of the house.

They all looked at Mr. Samoa. "So, what is it that you want to tell me?"
