Chapter 1

Swords of Wisdom

   One

Chosen one

    🔯

 Jane's POV

I watched my son as he played with Kristoff. He may seem happy, but his eyes is filled with sadness. Whenever he's happy, his brown has eyes always been filled with sparks of happiness. But now it's gone.

Kristoff threw the ball at Jack really strong. He is just like his father, I don't know how it all started but I knew that he and Jack would be great friends when they've met, and I was right.

I watched as Jack jumped up, catching the ball. His brown hair flipped has he landed on the ground. He got his brown hair and eyes from me. Unlike his father, he has red shiny hair and green eyes which I'd fell in love with. Some people asked him, where he'd got that hair from? Well, he didn't answer them because he had no idea. Neither of his parents had red hair, he even asked them the same question but they've never told him, I wonder why? Some people think it's because he has the power to form fire.

"Hey mom!" said my son, Jack as he came to me.

"Jack..." I smiled at him. "How was your game?"

"It was fun!" He smiled adorably to me, but the smile faded. Oh I really wanted that smile.
"When will I see her?" Oh that's the question I so don't know how to answer it. The question was always asked but still I kept answering it with the same lie, I don't know how long I could keep on lying to him. It hurts me so much to watch him waiting, thinking that he would see his baby sister again, but he never will.

I breathe in and said to him, "Soon." That's all I could say to him for now.

"How soon?" I could see anger and sadness in his eyes. "You kept telling me that same thing for two years but still she hasn't come home yet."

"She's just with grandma and grandpa," I tried to think of a good lie so he wouldn't panicked or try to do anything that I'm afraid he would do. "They must have loved her so much they didn't want to give her to us."

"But she belongs to us!" He said. I mainly slapped myself for telling him that she was with her grandparents. How am I going to explain it to him now?

"Jack," Jack left me and ran in through the door, I think he's going to his room, crying again for the hundredth time. As much as I want to go to him and comfort him, he wouldn't let me because I'm not the one he wants to see.

Oh Sally, my little girl, where are you??

She was just two years old when she'd gone missing. I don't know who or how it happened? But I remember Ronan and I, sleeping peacefully when suddenly 9 bells rung, signalling that Sally was missing. Ronan had sent the guards to search for her, but they haven't found her.

Jack was away that time when she'd went missing. He doesn't even know. Oh how much he had loved her. Sally was so special to everyone.

She always had a way to put a smile on the hardest man I'd ever known, my father. He had a huge temper, I've never once saw him smile, but from the time he'd saw Sally, a beautiful baby girl who was in my arms, a smile was formed on his lips.

It was like Sally was heaven's sent, she had black hair and black eyes, a blue aura was circled around those gorgeous eyes. Everyone loved her. Even Jack, he's always being the over protective brother around her. Always trying to protect her even though he was only seven.

Oh poor Jack if only you knew.

"Your highness," I looked up and saw Leo, one of the palace guards. "His Highness is here."

I smiled and stood up, Ronan had gone to a the South nation and now he's back.
I stood up at the balcony, looking down at the carriage which has just stopped. I watched as the door opened and out came Ronan, his red hair reflected the sun as he stood still; after a moment he looked up at the balcony where I was standing. He smiled at me. I smiled back, but then he gave me a sad look; I guess he might have seen my smile cracked, I couldn't have given him a big smile because I was sad at the moment.
I watched as he walked in the palace. I sat down at the near chair as I waited for him, he walking in to where I was staying. He came and sat down next to me.

"How you doing my Queen?" I gave him a sad look.

"I'm fine....but Jack isn't." He sighed.

"We have to tell him, it's not good to keep this secret from him. He'll find out eventually." I didn't want to hurt Jack, but he was right. I had to tell him.

                   Jack's POV

I sat on my bed, looking out at the window. It was a night sky, the stars were twinkling and shining down at me.

Where? Where are you Sally?
Why haven't you come home?
Every time I asked mom where she is? She always tells me that she's with grandma and grandpa, I always felt like she's lying to me. But why? Why would she lie?
I felt a little hungry, I've skipped dinner because I didn't have the appetite.

I laid my head on the pillow and tried to fall asleep.
After some minutes I heard the door cracked open, I turned around and saw mom.

"Sweetie, are you alright?" She asked, her voice was filled with concern.
I slowly got up and sat still as she came and sat next to me.

"Jack, I know this is going to be hard, but please listen," she looked like she was going to cry.
I wonder what was she going to say, is it Sally, I don't want to hear another lie again.

"Remember when you came back two years ago....and you saw many palace guards roaming around the palace and everywhere?" She looked at me with a serious expression.

I remembered when me and Kristoff came back from our little trip. We saw many guards roaming around the village and everywhere. I always wondered what had happened back then, but mom and dad never told me.
I looked up at mother and slightly nodded my head.

"Well the reason was that...something had happened to Sally..."
I stared at her wide eyed, what happened? What had happen to my sister?
"Sh-she...she was kidnapped," my mother finished as she started to cry.

I shook my head, refusing to believe what she had just said.
"No," she came closer to me, trying to embrace me but I shoved her away. "No! You're lying, she's not dead!" I got up and ran out of my room.

"Jack!" My mom called me but I kept running down the hall and I went through the exit. It was raining; but I didn't care. I was barefoot, my tears were streaming down my face as I kept running. I went through the dark woods, I always been scared of going in the woods, but I didn't care I just kept on running.

                  Ronan's POV

I felt like something was wrong. I was waiting for Jane to come back. She was telling Jack about what had happened to Sally. Huh Jack, I'm so sorry. I know how much he loved her, it's going to be hard for him to accept the truth.

Suddenly I heard Jane's voice, who was she screaming to? I ran down the steps and down the hall. I saw Jack, running to the exit door, what was going on?

My world begin freeze when I heard her calling Jack's name.
"Jane, what happened?!"

She was crying, it was like she was having a panic attack.
"J-Jack..." she pointed outside.
"He didn't believe me, he was so hurt Ronan."
I realized what she was saying, Jack had ran away. I quickly called all the palace guards, I told them to go look for Jack.

Jane was breathing rapidly. "Ronan...Ronan please, I lost Sally, I can't loose him too." She was crying unstoppably.

I held her cheek with both my hands, trying to calm her down, "Jane! Jane, listen to me, I'll go look for Jack, okay?" She nodded slowly. "Wendy!"

"Yes sir."

"Please take the Queen to her room and look after her." Wendy took Jane.

I ran out, came beside me were three guards holding their torches.

Jack, where are you?

"Sir!" Said one of the guards.
I ran towards them and saw Jack's footprints. The footprints led to the dark woods, why would Jack even go in there?

"JACK!" I shout to the woods but there was no answer. I walked in the woods and the guards followed me, we split up and kept searching for Jack.

                  Jack's POV

I ran through branches. I ran past many strange looking trees. My leg was muddy, my clothes were soaking wet; but I didn't care. I just kept running, never feeling the need to stop.

"JACK!" I heard someone called for me, it sounded like my Dad. I was too occupied with hearing the voice that I didn't notice a tree branch that was laying on the ground, I instantly tripped over and fell.

I landed on my my face.

Ouch!

That really hurts. I sat down. I thought it was mud ground but it was a green grass that shone in the moon light. I looked up and saw a strange blue light.
The light was glowing. I got really curious and stood up, I walked to the glowing light. I stepped on the soft grass, it felt really smooth under my feet. The glowing light came from a rock, it was a rectangle shape rock. I walked to it, when I came closed to it, I saw something that took my breath away laying on the rock was a sword. (A/N: The sword is up on the media.)

The sword was beautiful, a great king would kill to have this kind of sword.
I just kept on staring at the sword.

"Well well well," said a voice. "Look what we have here."

I turned around, looking a little frightened.
"Who's there?"

The voice laughed a wicked laugh, it sounded like an old lady.
Okay, now I'm getting scared.

I've never known that this woods would have ghost. Oh I'm so stupid, I should have realize that before I even came here.

"Are you King Ronan's son?" Asked the female voice.

Oh no! Don't answer them Don't answer them!

I heard branches broke around me, it means that there are more of them surrounding me.
Oh please don't tell me their are goblins, I hate goblins.

If I kept standing like this, they will completely surround me and there won't be anywhere else to escape.

My eyes search for an opening, I saw one at my right side, I ran as fast as I could, trying to escape. But suddenly I felt my whole body stopped,

What the...?

My legs turned me around, it was like I didn't have any control over my own body. Then a force pulled forward making fell down.

"Huh..." I growled.

"He is!" I heard the female voice said. "Finally, I'll be able to get back at Ronan."

"Who are you?" I asked as I stood up. I Listened to her footsteps as she walked to me, she came into the light, she was wearing a red dress with a black hood, she has black curly hair and blue eyes. She looked to be in her late thirties.

"Nice to meet you, my little prince." Her voice was gentle, but I knew I shouldn't trust her that easily.

"Who are you?" I asked twice again.

She smirked, "I believed you've heard about me." I gave her a confused look, how would I know her? "I'm Gothel."

My eyes grew wide open, Gothel? Yes I've heard about her, she can control people's body like she just did to me a while ago.

When she saw me getting shocked, her smirk grew wider. Out of the shadows came eight men which my dad used to called them bandits.

"You know, you made a huge mistake coming in the woods all alone," said a guy who had black hair.

Gothel walked to where the sword was laying on the rock.
"Nice sword, isn't it?"

The guy walked to the other side of the rock, he stared at the sword. "It's beautiful."
He reached to take it but Gothel grabbed his hand.

"I wouldn't touch it if I were you," she said as she let go of his hand. "No one is able to pick it up."

How come?

"Why?" Asked the man.

"Perhaps it would be better to see it for yourself," Gothel smirked and pointed to one of the bandits. "You! come here." She said to a man.
The man walk to them. Gothel pointed to the sword, "Take it."
The man hesitated, but he obeyed and grabbed the sword, in a flick of an eye, he vanished.

We all gasped, except for Gothel.
What just happened? I looked around but I couldn't see him.

"What happened? Where did he go?" Asked the guy looking shocked at what just happened.

"He's gone," said Gothel. "No one must touch the sword, only the chosen one can take it."

Chosen one?

My mom used to tell me stories about a sword waiting for the chosen one to come take it, but I never thought that the story was true.

"And who might that be?" Asked the guy.

Gothel turned around, "Him." She pointed to me. I stared at her wide eyed. How can it be me? I'm just a nine year old kid. Sure I knew how to fight, but I never really fought with anyone.

The guy look like he was about to laugh, "Oh please, don't make me laugh." Gothel rolled her eyes. "I mean how can a kid like him be the chosen one.

"There was a prophecy at the Olympian Temple," Gothel said. "It said two people will be the one to take the two swords that is placed on the rock. Nine years ago, when Ronan was ill, an enchantress came to him and heal him. After she did she told him that he was going to have a son who is destined for great things, a son who will be able to pick up one of the swords of wisdoms."

How come dad never told me?

I should be hearing this from him, not from some witch who just wanted the sword for herself.

"So now that he's here," she turned to look at me. "He'll have to pick it up now."

I look frightened.

What if I wasn't the chosen one? What if I'll disappear like that man did when he'd touched that sword.

I shook my head, "No I won't!"

"Come on darling," said Gothel. "I promise you, you won't disappear."

I didn't want to. I stood up quickly and ran, trying to escape them but then, Gothel control my whole body, making me walk to them.

Huh why were she born with that kind of power? What do they call it again, huh Blood banding.

I stood in front of them, so basically the sword was in the middle. Gothel moved her hand up making my right hand moved to the front to take the sword. I tried my best to stop myself.

This is ridicules, they can't really force me to take the sword.

Gothel was looking furious at me, she controlled me with both her hands. I couldn't do anything, I was too weak to control myself. I watched my hand as it touched the sword, I closed my eyes waiting for me to disappear, but when I opened my eyes, I saw Gothel and the guy looking at me with wide eyes.

Why are they looking at me like that? Wait a minute, I'm still here, and I did not disappear!

I couldn't help but smile, if I didn't disappear then I'm really am the chosen one.

Gothel glared at me, "Now give me the sword, kid."

I held the sword tightly. At first I wanted to just give it to her and just leave, but when I had taken the sword, it feels like I wanted to hold it and never give it to anyone else. I don't know but it feels like it was telling me not to hand it over.

"No, give it to me," said the guy.

"No way Leon, I'm taking the sword!" said Gothel, glaring at him. The other bandits didn't know what to do, they just stood there and stare at those two.

"Give it to me or I'll be taking it myself," Gothel growled.

Oh yeah, how could I forget? She's going to blood band me, I had to do something quick.

But from nowhere, the guy named Leon, appeared in front of me. I gasped. "Give me the sword!"

He grabbed my left arm. I acted too quickly, I didn't know what came over me but before I knew it I heard Leon scream. I looked down at his hand and saw-

OH MY GOD! Did I just-? No I couldn't have done that!

Right before my eyes was Leon holding his hand, his hand was-was chopped. I look down on the sword I was holding, the sword's edge was covered with blood. Gothel and the others gasped.

Oh no, what have I done?

                 Author's POV

"HUH!!" screamed Leon holding his hand. His eyes was blazing with anger. "Huh you little brat!!"

Jack didn't know what to do. He just stood there, frozen in place.

He looked at Gothel, Gothel looked shocked, but soon it was replaced with anger. "Well, looks like we're going to have to do this the hard way." She moved her hand up to blood band Jack to give her the sword. She moved her hand up, Jack closed his eyes; waiting for her to control him.

But he didn't feel anything, he slowly opened his eyes. Gothel was straggling to control Jack, "Wh-why can't it work." She moved her hand side to side, trying her best to control Jack, but still Jack did not move.

Jack looked down at the sword he was holding and saw that it was glowing. Then he realized it, as long as he held that sword in his hands, Gothel can't control him.

Gothel too realized it. She knew why Jack had ran into the woods, so she tried to use that to her advantage. "Jack, I know why you're upset."

Jack gave her a weird look. Gothel continued, "It's because you don't want to believe that your sister is gone." Jack narrowed his eyes, how did she know about her sister? But the thought of his sister gone, made him want to cry again. But he can't, he can't look weak in front of them.

"How did you know about my sister?" asked Jack, glaring at Gothel.

"Everyone knows about her," replied Gothel, she gave Jack a fake sad smile. "Everyone knows that she had been missing for two years now, except you-you just found out now." Jack gazed at the ground, he was still upset that his parents hadn't told him about Sally gone missing.

"But I know where she is," said Gothel. Jack looked up surprised.

"You do?" He asked.

Gothel nodded, "Yes I do."

"Where is she?" he asked. Is there still hope for his sister?

Gothel smirked, "Not so fast, I will only tell you, if you give me the sword."

Jack's eyes widen, of course she wouldn't tell him that easily. Jack looked down at the sword, so many questions were going around his mind like; what if Gothel was lying to him? Should he give her the sword? She said she knows where his sister is, all he wants is to find his sister. His grip on the sword tighten. He walked to Gothel, he hesitantly gave her the sword.

Gothel held the sword and laughed evilly, "Yes! Finally the most powerful sword in the world is mine!"

Jack rolled his eyes, "Now tell me where my sister is?"

Gothel looked at him and smirked, "No can do. I was banished long before you were born, I don't even know what happened to her."

Jack's eyes widen in realization, he had been tricked. He bowed his head, staring down at the ground almost on the verge of tears.

"Come on, Jack," said Gothel. "Your sister is long gone, is time to let her go. But to be honest, I don't actually pity the kid. I always wanted to get back at Ronan for banishing me, I'm grateful to whoever kidnapped the little brat."

What she had just said made Jack even angrier, how dare she said that to his little sister?

"She is not a brat!" said Jack.

Gothel looked at him and chuckled, "She is, just like you."
Jack clenched his fist. Gothel noticed this and laughed, "Looks like someone's mad, what are you gonna do about it?"

Jack was still looking at ground. Never in his nine years of life had he felt hopeless, he just wanna go home, but he knew that Gothel wouldn't let him. Jack can still feel the sword calling him, he felt bad for giving up the sword. Something was telling him to get that sword back, but how? What can he do to get it back? Without it, Gothel can easily control him.

Leon had already covered his bloody hand with a cloth. He glared at Jack, "You're dead kid, you're gonna pay for what you did to me." He took out his sword and walked to Jack. Jack stared at him in horror, he tried to run away but Leon grabbed his hand and tossed him down on the ground, "Where do you think you're going, brat?" He smirked and brought his sword up, with a quick move-Jack slide under Leon's legs and quickly got up and ran. Leon turned around and chased Jack, Jack was almost about to escape them. But then Gothel just had to join in the fun, she blood band Jack to the other side making him fly left and hit the tree.

Jack shout in pain, his side shoulder was bleeding. Leon laughed and walked and stood in front of him, Gothel came and stood next to him while the rest of the bandits stood behind them.

"You have nowhere else to go, kid. This is your end!" Gothel and Leon laughed evilly, so did the other bandits.

Leon brought his sword up again, "I'm going to cut you just like you did to my hand you little brat!" Leon smirked. "Oh this is going to be fun!" With a quick pace, he brought the sword down to Jack.

Jack screamed, "NO!!!"Suddenly out of nowhere, strong winds came and blasted Leon and Gothel away with the bandits.

They all fell backwards on the ground. Gothel's grip loosened on the sword and the sword flew to Jack as if he was the owner. Jack stood up and held the sword.

Jack look to Gothel and Leon and said, "This is my sword now and I won't let you lay a finger on it."
As soon as he said that, the sword glowed a blue color and on the ground where Jack was standing suddenly covered with ice. The place became colder, everyone shiver with cold, except Jack. The wind blew and Jack felt himself flying up, everyone watched as Jack begun to glow, after that he release a big light that blinded everyone that was looking. Jack floated down, he felt amazing, a feeling he hasn't felt for a long time, and he even felt a lot stronger. Gothel and the others were looking at him shockingly. Jack did not have his brown hair anymore, his hair was now white, he looked up and they could see his now blue eyes blazing.

He removed his royal blue coat, he was now in just a white flawless shirt and brown pants. He lifted his sword up and pointed to Leon, a childish smirk was placed on his lips. "You wanna have fun, let's have fun."

Leon glared at him, he turned to two bandits that were beside him, "Get him!" They both nodded and ran to Jack and attack. They both swung their sword to Jack's head, Jack ducked and easily beat them with a swung of his sword.
Leon stared at him shocked, he send five to Jack but again he easily defeated them. Leon was getting impatient, he sent all of them to him.

When Jack saw all of them coming he said, "Wind, take me up."

"What's he talking about?" asked Gothel. The wind blew and lifted Jack up.

"Gothel! Do something!" exclaimed Leon. Gothel tried and tried but still nothing happened.

"I can't!" said Gothel frustrated. They both watched as Jack swung his sword blocking every fight that was coming to him. "How did he learn how to fight like that?"

Leon growled angrily and ran to Jack. Jack blocked his impact before he jumped up and side kicked his face. Leon fell down to the ground, he got up again and ran fast to Jack, but Jack moved aside and cut his other arm. Leon screamed in pain and walk backwards, his back bumped a branch of a tree and the Long Branch broke. Leon fell on the ice ground, the blood was rushing out of his arm.

The Long Branch that had broken earlier rolled over to Jack. Jack looked at it, the stick's end was shaped in a hook, Jack touched it with his bare foot. Frost covered the stick, Jack bended down and took the stick, he gently placed the end on the ground, and suddenly frost appeared. Jack smiled, he could use this as a weapon.

He looked up in search for Gothel but she was nowhere in sight, she's probably ran away.

"Hello Jack," said a voice. Jack jumped and quickly turned around and saw a man. He had spiky black hair, and creepy yellow eyes, he was in a black long coat and his hand was folded behind him. Jack felt like he'd saw him somewhere.

"Hmm the little highness has beaten some bandits," he said and smirked. "I'm impressed."

Jack stood up straight and brought his sword in front of him. The man's eyes widen as he stared at the sword.

Before he could say anything, palace guards came running forward, they've found him.

"Jack!" said Ronan as he came past the guards. Ronan's eyes widen. "Jack?" Ronan scanned the boy, was he really his son.

"Dad," said Jack. Ronan's eyes widen. He ran and hugged Jack.
"Jack, what happened to you, why is your hair white and your eyes...?" Ronan was interrupted when Jack showed him the sword. Ronan stared shockingly at the sword. Oh my God! His son has found the sword before he could even tell him about it.

"I know everything dad," said Jack.

Ronan smiled, but soon it disappeared as he saw all the bandits lying on the ice covered with blood. "Did you do all this?" Jack nodded. Ronan was a little upset that his son killed at such young age, but he was also proud of him for becoming a true warrior.

But he was confused of something, "Where did all the ice come from?"

"I did it," said Jack.

"How? You only have the power of the wind," said Ronan.

"Yeah, but my sword gave me the power of snow and frost," said Jack grinning.

Ronan smiled and hugged his son, "But you are grounded young man." Jack sighed.

Ronan stood up and looked at the man with yellow eyes. "Pitch, what are you doing here?" asked Ronan.

"I've finished my trip. I kind of heard screams in this woods and decided to check it out," said Pitch.

Ronan nodded and took Jack's hand, "Let's go back, Jack."

They went back, they left the woods behind. Jack had send couple of glances to Pitch, he didn't know why but he felt that something was fishy about him.

He had caught him staring at the sword on Jack's hand.

They went to the castle, Queen Jane had freaked out about Jack's hair and eyes but, Ronan explained the whole taking the sword thing. Jack even told his parents about Gothel, Ronan said that he would search for her and there's nothing to worry about.

Jack took a bath and put on his pajamas. He was sitting on his bed when his mom enter the room. "Hey son."

"Hey mom," said Jack.

"Do you want to finish our conversation from earlier?" said Jane sitting next to him.

Jack knew right away that she meant about Sally going missing. He simply shook his head. "There's no need to continue, mom. I understand that Sally is gone, is hard for me to accept it but with you and dad by my side, I know I'll get through it, someday." Jane smiled sadly at him, she pulled Jack towards her and hugged him.

"I know you miss her and you love her so much," said Jane. "And I hope you can share that love with your new sister."

Jack looked startled, he moved back and stared at his mom, "What do you mean?"

Jane smiled and caressed Jack's cheek, "Jack, we're going to have a baby."

Jack smiled widely, "Really! But how do you know that it's going to be a girl?"

Jane just smiled at him, "A mother knows, Jack." Jack grinned and hugged his mom. He glanced at the side of his room, his sword was on the table. Jack smiled, there's just something about that sword.

So many questions were running through his mind, like...

Why was he chosen?

What so special about that sword?

What's the real identity of that sword?
