Dianna POV.

The air in the Justice League heatquaters seemed thick like honey as I awkwardly stood in the center of the room, arms folded my feet steadly planted to the floor. My weight stayed fixed onto my right leg and my head was positioned high. After the kids had departed on their retrival mission with Batman,  I decided to save some time and take the arduous trip to the base. I'll be going there regardless when the others return, so why not go now? Unsurprisingly, I was greeted with the distrusting gazes of my colleagues,  no doubt the Dark Crusader had blabbed about the predicament.

"Whatever questions you may have I implore that you await the arrival of Batman and the others. I have no patience to repeat myself." The others shared a glance, before agreeing to my terms. I could feel a headache forming at the edges of my forehead from this entire debacle. Whenever Perseus gets involved things tend to get more, complicated. I still had yet to explain to the wildcard demigod that the entire reason that they needed to collaborate with the superheroes was because of fear.

Fear of the strength of the Justice League.

Fear of losing allies.

Fear of Percy's potential. Of his power.

All of these measures and risks to satisfy the King of Olympus, ruler of the God's. My father. Not to mention I was about to take a leave of absence from heroism to aid my sisters in their healing and recuperation from the onslaught not 4 months prior.

That is why I must ensure that the demigods were smoothly accepted into the fold of the League. That Percy was accepted. For only death could bring the Hero of Olympus from his ever growing pedestal as his godly potential increases with each tale of the formidable Perseus Jackson told around camp fires, each monster shouting his name.

Percy needed a reason for him to stay alive.  Not for his sake, but the council's. For the King.

"I heard that the Amazon's were working on a project relating to sonic warfare."

I turned to the spandex adorned alien. For a journalist, Clark was criminally bad at small talk. Nevertheless, I smirked at the opportunity to kill time.

"Well I would not describe it as such."

Richard POV.

Everyone had assumed their positions around the perimeter of the area where the psychotic, murderous clown was spotted. Somehow everytime I encountered the maniac he was always donned in the most highlighter-esque shade of neon green, despite him not seeing a hairdresser in God knows how long. And he was forever in a new suit. Like where does he find the time. The animals beside him, which were previously made out to be a poodle of some kind, appeared to be demonic looking Rottweiler adjacent hounds. The six creatures towered over the Joker, most likely to be at a similar hight that a street light probably was, and their reddish fur hurt my eyes at their intensity.

I'm seriously wishing Percy could have given me a heads up that I would contract a headache in such a ridiculous manner. It was unbecoming.

Whatever that magic hand sign he performed almost half an hour ago before the briefing was definitely the cause. Well atleast that's what Piper had said ever so shortly. They were on a time crunch after all. That just means I'll have time to think of questions for later. Another notable fact to mention about the magic mumbo-jumbo was that it made the strangers appear more intimidating. The two boys in particular, but Percy even more so. Their eyes became more illuminating and intense, their presence more suffocating. Like a really potent air fresher or a hydrochloric press.

No in betweens.

As I sat in silence awaiting the signal, I mentally went over Annabeth's plan. Damn that girl can strategize. In the twenty minutes that the team had to think, she had conjured up a course of action that almost whirred his head off with the meticulous details included. Not to mention it acounted for the skill set of the Team, despite her only meeting them not even an hour ago. Three goals were established; Capture the Joker, deal with the dogs and contain the bombs littered around the park.

Annabeth, surprisingly, was even open up for discussion,  though there was not much anyone could input to make the plan better than it already was. The only thing that she mentioned that was unnegotiable was that of the demon dogs, or hellhounds as she had called them. No, she did not explain the name. Even though I had asked. Again the time constraint fucks me over. She explicitly mentioned that only the four teens were to attack them. Apparently the materials within their possession were the only thing that could do damage to them.

Bats sure wasn't happy about that.

From the corner from my eye I noticed Percy charge towards one of the hellhounds and I made an educated guess that that was the signal. Yes, I'm a genius. Not long after I found myself dodging chemical attacks that were being thrown my way by the maniacal man in makeup. To be fare it wasn't that convoluted at this stage in their twisted dynamic.

A booming, "Duck!", was echoed across the park from Percy, who was somehow managing to overpower the beast he was entangled with in a sickeningly elegant dance of death. At that moment I was thankful for my vigilante reflexes,  because the instant I did a molotov singed over my head into the near by pond. I could've died via cheap bomb. Terrible was out if you ask me. I flashed a thumbs up in Percy's general direction as a maniacal laugh filled my eardrum to my right, before I retaliated against the Joker by throwing a barrage of explosive bat-a-rangs.

Fight fire with fire am I right?

"This is fun ain't it lil' birdie."

Within the next thirty seconds I deployed my escrima sticks in both my hands, beginning my task of forcing the asylum patient into Batman's concealed position. So far it was working, as I directed the Joker to the east of the park, visually away from everyone else but still within their eyesight incase the plan went horribly wrong. Which should always be taken into account.

Meg are you still holding the force field?

Yes.

Joker is almost near Bats. Stay ready.

I side stepped a splash of acid that was chucked my way, retaliating with a swing towards my left, aiming for his head. Concussions were fair game right? I felt the escrima sticks vibrate as they connected with his skull, pitching the jokester to the ground. As he lay motionless, Bruce, sorry Batman, stepped out of the shadows. "You weren't supposed to do that." I scratched the back of my head sheepishly. "Yeah, uh, sorry."

His frigid gaze encapsulated me, making me tense and I dared not breathe. He let out a gruff sigh, bringing his gloved hand up to his face. It felt like tike stopped as he rubbed the right of his forehead, clearly I was never going to hear the end of what ever speach he was cooking up. "We'll talk about this in the cave. Just, tie hi-"

The familiar goading laughter interrupted Batman's usual post mission remarks, spine chilling as it was surprising.

"You didn't think that was it did you, Batsy?"

And that's when I saw the red button leave his waist coat.

Richard POV.

When I came to, it was bright. Brighter than the park had been. Definitely more white. The sterile lights and the awfully white room, with white bed sheets and white tiles if you wondering, seemed oddly familiar. The layout of the space reminded me of the infirmary back at the mountain base, but it was extremely complex. The clicking and whizzing of the machinery on the otherside of the room was new and I definitely did not recognize the way the ceiling was designed.

Oh, this was probably the new base.

"Welcome back to the land of the sentient Boy Wonder. Everyone else is in the council room. I was sent to get you." Artemis stood at the mouth of the door, smirk on her face and hands on her hips. Her bow and quiver gone from their usual position on her back, her comms removed. "What happened? Is everyone alright? Did the bomb kill anyone?"

She shook her haid, causing her braid to swing as she did so. "No, actually. Only two of the five bombs that we located went off. That's thanks to Kaldur'Am and Connor. Perseus jumped right as a bomb went off in Annabeth's direction and this weird glob of water enveloped it before if could fully go off. The other bomb went off next to you and Batman but not close enough to do any damage. You're the last one to get up, as I said before."

I rubbed my head, lifting myself off the cot before smothing my pants and shirt. I still had on my suit and mask, but my black socks that I usually wore were gone. "Shoes?" I nodded at her question and she motioned her head to the right of the room. "Just give me a second. "

It wasn't long before I was trailing behind the girl within the dark hallways,  passing by a myriad of doors and maps of different planets. It wasn't until we walked past the gigantic window on the left when I realized exactly where we were. Space. I totally forgot that the new base was built off planet.

"Here we are. I'm dying to hear what Wonder Woman has to say so chop chop." I rolled my eyes and pushed the doors infront of me. A deep sound was exuded by the action, and I was greeted with the stares of all of the room's inhabitants. "Uhm, I'm awake."

"Alright, fantastic. Wonder Woman can finally begin her explanation on why she involved a supposed terrorist into League business. I shuffled into the room, Artemis not far behind, and positioned my self into the seat next to Kaldur'Am, who appeared to be awfully nervous.

"I guess I'll start from the beginning.  As all of you know, I am the demigod daughter of Zeus, King of the Olympian gods, and Queen Hippolta of the Amazonians. I have led you to believe that the gods have faded, but this is not the case. They are very much alive, Roman and Greek, and their are children too."

The room was abysmally quite. I could hear the heavy breathing of the Atlantean beside me, almost making me adapting the same pattern.

"The reason why I spun such a lie was because of these children. Half-bred children of the gods and mortals have been hunted since the gods had enemies and I was advised, well more so warned, that for the sake of safety the demigods should remain unknown. At the time of my introduction to the hero world, the Great Prophecy of the Eldest gods had yet to be enacted, so it would have been in bad taste to throw the League into the mythological world. Especially while it was at war. Aquaman can vouche for these individuals as Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea, is his ruler.  And the sorcerers have been aware of the pantheon's movements since the Dark Ages. They mean no harm to you, they are only trying to survive. "

War?

"A war Diana! A war right under our noses?" It was Dinah who spoke. It was Dinah who opened the flood gates for the others to speak, no rather shout their accusations and remarks. Some statements were directed at the King of Atlantis and his protégé as well. I felt Kaldur stiffen besides me, I'm guessing he didn't expect Wonder Woman to say anything along those lines.

A war.

A shrill ring cut through the noise, silencing the commotion as instantly as it had began. Annabeth Chase raised her phone, which seemed to be a terribly outdated model, to her ear. "Hey." Her eyebrows scrunched up at whatever the person on the other end had said, causing her to shake her head. "I'll see how fast we can make it. Bye Will."

The blond made direct eye contact with Diana as she sighed, no doubt the news was not good. "Rachel spewed a prophecy.  And it looks like the heroes are involved."

I can already tell I did not like the sound of that.

And I didn't even know who the heck this Rachel chick was.
