Hesitantly, I joined the group
Worried that they may not want my presence,
But I really wanted to fit in and be a part of things
Little did I know, that mistake would be immense.

I tried to join the conversation
When he said something, I made a comment, but then
They all turned on me. I'd missed the joke.
I'd embarrassed myself yet again.

I just laughed it off,
But I felt so awful inside
And though I guess it wasn't a big deal,
I will say that I almost cried.
