As what Van have said, he picked me up before the guys woke up. His sidekick wasn't with him when I got in his car and he said that he's busy with some stuff.

When I asked Van about what our agenda for the day is, he just said that if I'll be pretending as Kaline, I should look and act like her. The only thing that popped out of my mind is makeover. I'm okay with it, as long as I'll look like Kaline.

Last night when Van left, I wasn't able to fall asleep immediately even if I already yawned a couple of times. So to not waste time, I looked at Kaline's clothes. She loves clothing with plaid patterns and polka dots, so I've kind of expected her wardrobe bursting with those prints. From sweaters, muscle shirts, and tank tops to pants, shorts, and skirts. The only articles that I was shocked at were the crop tops, cocktail dresses, and jumpers. She doesn't wear clothes like those before, but I guess it's what's 'in' in the fashion industry.

Her fashion style isn't really that far from mine. We both have a weird love for sweaters, ripped jeans, muscle shirts, and boots. I guess we just differ in our combinations of clothing and the color of clothes. I like pastel colors, blue, and gray and Kaline likes dark colors like brown, black, maroon, and navy blue. The only light color that she'll ever wear is white, but that's it. It's because she thinks and I quote, "I'm pale and if I wear light colors, I would look like an angel."

After twenty minutes of driving, we stopped in front of a block building, the type of buildings that you often see in London and Paris. Since it's still dark out and there are only a few people out, probably the ones who choose to live healthy, I didn't need to hide my face that much. Van just said that if I bump into a commoner, I should just ignore him or her and to stay away from light so my face wouldn't be seen clearly.

We ascended up the stairs of the building and Van pressed the doorbell. Fall is just starting so it's not that cold out yet so I just chose to wear a thin sweater and some black pants.

A few minutes after he rang the doorbell, we heard stumbling noises from the other side of the door before it opened, revealing a tall and well-built guy with a mop of messy golden hair. His eyes are twitching, as if he just woke up, and his lips are twisted into a frown.

"Oh, you're here early." He said as soon as he finished rubbing his eyes, trying to rub the sleep off of them.

"And here I thought that you'll be up early too because that's what I told you to do last night." Van groaned as he pushed his way inside. I didn't know if I should follow him or what so I just came closer to the door and cleared my throat. The guy with the messy hair turned to me and his eyes widened.

"K-Kaline?!"

I stood there, frozen. I didn't know what to do. Should I tell him that I'm not Kaline or is this the first test of me being Kaline? Van didn't tell me anything about this!

"Oh, and what happened to your hair?"

So this guy knows my twin? Who is he to her, then? Ohmygosh...

Is he Kaline's boyfriend?!

"Shut up for a while and let her in, Troye." Van said from the inside. Troye eyed me but nonetheless let me in. I muttered a thank you and bit my lip before going in.

Once I got in, I noticed that the walls are covered with posters. Not just any posters, but posters of my twin. Of Kaline.

So what, he's some sort of, what do you call this...

Crazy fan?

I sat beside Van on the couch while looking at the posters. There are also scrap cloths and magazines lying around, and what made me confused the most are the mannequins by the opposite wall.

The door closed and then Troye suddenly appeared. He stared at me before clearing his throat and peeling his eyes off of me. "Do you guys want coffee or juice?"

"Water. Just water." Van answered. Troye looked at me expectantly.

"A-A coffee would be nice. Thanks." I mumbled, keeping my eyes focused on the floor.

"Black or the usual?" He asked.

The usual? Oh, so he must be a friend of Kaline, then.

"Black would be fine." I said that made him raise his eyebrows. He said a slow okay before going to the kitchen. When he's out of earshot, I turned to Van.

"Is he my twin's boyfriend?" I asked. Van looked at me like I was crazy and he chuckled.

"Dear no, he's not. Kaline doesn't have a boyfriend." He said

"Then who is he?"

Van opened his mouth to answer but then Troye entered the room again and he set down our drinks on the table. Van grabbed his glass of water and took a big swig before setting it down.

"I'm surprised you had your coffee black, Kal. You hate black, right?" He said, looking at me. I glanced at Van, silently asking him for help. He caught my look and cleared his throat, getting Troye's attention. "Uh, you see..."

"Kaline's missing, Troye."

Troye raised a brow at him. "Well, she just got back from Japan, right?" He then turned to me. I blinked at him. "U-Uh..."

"She's not Kaline. She's Karine, Kaline's twin."

His eyes widened. "Y-You're Karine?!"

"Yeah..." I mumbled sheepishly.

"Wow." He said. "She's told me so much about you before but I didn't know that you two are identical twins."

"Look, Kaline is missing. Did you know anything? What did she say to you?" Van piped up.

"I talked to her a month ago. We went out to eat dinner and she said that she'll go to Japan to see her grandparents. After that, she hasn't contacted me ever since. I figured the signal is crappy that's why she didn't text or call me." He said as he took a seat opposite to us.

"But she's not in Japan, Troye. I already sent a few of my friends there. And next week will be the start of their recording."

"Well, if Kaline's missing... Why is she--" he looked at Van as if he's crazy and pointed at me. "You're going to switch the two of them?! Are you out of your mind, Clinton?!"

Van ran his hand through his hair exasperatedly. "I know, Troye. But I have no choice."

Troye looked at me and he sighed. "Okay, I'll help you. For Kaline."

Van shot up from his seat. "Really?"

"Well, this isn't the smartest thing to do, but it's the only thing we've got." Troye said as he stood up too.

He turned to me and extended his hand out. "I haven't formally introduced myself. I'm Troye Lucas, Kaline's wardrobe stylist. Nice to meet you, Karine."

I stood up from my seat and grasped his hand and shook it. "Same here."

"Well then, if you guys are okay now, we should go and meet Quinn already." Van said as he started walking towards the door.

"Now? But I haven't even showered yet." Troye pouted at Van.

"Fine. Ten minutes." Van said that made Troye shout victory and he rushed up the stairs to get ready.

Twelve minutes after and Troye hasn't emerged from his house, yet. And because Van is a very impatient person (I quickly noticed his lack of patience when Kent was taking a lot of time putting my bag in the trunk last night and he honked, to which made Kent jump in surprise, hitting his head on the trunk of the car), he honked for five times and when he's about to honk for the sixth time, I stopped him. That earned me a glare from him.

"Would you stop that? People are still sleeping, you know." I hissed at him before releasing his wrist and I looked out the window.

Suddenly, the passenger seat door flew open and Troye got in. "Okay, okay, I'm here. Now, where to?"

Van just glared at him at the rear-view mirror and stepped on the gas. "Just shut up and sit back."

"What took you so long, Van?" Kent said as he opened the door and let us in. We're now meeting Kaline's hair and makeup stylist, who's living in a condominium and because Kent already talked to her, that's one less thing to worry now.

"Troye, as usual." Van said as we sat down on the couch.

Kaline's stylist, Quinn Winston, is a famous hairdresser in Paris. Then when she tried working here in Hollywood, Van took her as my twin's stylist and she agreed because Kaline is a natural beauty. She also predicted that Kaline will be famous and she wants to be there with her. After a month of working with each other, they immediately became friends and are as close as ever.

"Where's Quinn?" Troye asked as he plopped down on the opposite couch and propped his feet up on the coffee table.

"In her room." Kent said

"What did she say about Karine?" Van asked

"She's okay with it. Said that she'll do anything for Kaline."

"Good." Van said then he turned to me. "Tonight, we'll be having a dinner with Silhouette Aces. So that on your second night there, I wouldn't have to sneak you in again."

"Tonight? Already?" He nodded

"Are you going to introduce me as Karine or Kaline?" He pressed his lips into a thin line as we all waited for his answer.

"Well, I thought about that last night. If we would tell them that you'll be pretending as Kaline, I'm sure as hell that their talent managers wouldn't agree with it. And I think Jio wouldn't, too." He said, pressing a finger against his chin.

"Jio? Why? Is he the, what do you call this, so-called leader of the group?" I asked. Van shook his head. "He's kind of a perfectionist, you see." That made me shudder. No wonder Kaline won't stop talking about him. She has a thing for authoritative guys. Like her obsession over Christian Grey.

"So I take it you're going to introduce her as Kaline?" Troye piped up, and Van nodded.

"I know it's risky, but we have no choice. As long as they don't find out who you really are, we'll be okay until Kaline shows up."

After a few minutes of talking about the plan, Quinn emerged from her room. At first when I heard her name, I thought she's a very elegant girl. The type who always wears elegant dresses and heels, but when she went out of her room, I was surprised to see her wearing a white shirt dress and jean shorts and black Converse on her feet. Her blonde hair is in a French braid and she's wearing light makeup. Nonetheless, she's gorgeous.

"Oh, hello there! Karine, right?" I just nodded before she hugged me and pulled away. "Kaline has told me so much about you, I feel like we're friends already!" She squealed

"Anyways, my, you really look like her. I think the things that makes her different from you is your hair color and that beauty mark you have beside your right eye." She said then she linked arms with me and we both faced them. "So, where are we going first?"

"I was thinking if we could have her hair colored first. Then while you're at it, Troye and Kent are in charge of her clothing, then I'll swing by the apartment first and tell the boys about the dinner." Van said as he stood up from the couch.

"Great! Now come on, let's go and let's start this! I'm so excited!" Quinn squeaked as we exited her unit.

Since I'm going with Quinn to her shop, I'm riding with her. Then Van will drop Troye and Kent off to where they'll go and he'll head to the apartment. I hopped into Quinn's green apple Mercedes Benz and we drove off to her shop.

"So, are you excited?" She said, breaking the wavering silence inside the car.

"Not really." I admitted, biting my lip. She glanced at me and smiled. "Yeah, I can tell."

"You know, they're not that bad, y'know." I looked at her, confused. "Oh, I mean the guys." I nodded at her when I finally understood her.

"At first I thought they're jerks, too. Even Kaline was like how you are right now. But after a week of living with them, she said that they're okay and that they're fun to be with. She even felt bad for judging them without getting to know them at first." She said

"What are they like?" I asked as I fidgeted with the hem of my sweater.

"Fishing out for some information, aren't we?" I flushed scarlet and looked away which made her laugh.

"Nah, it's okay. If you want, I'll tell you something about them and give you some tips on how Kaline treats each one of them." She said to which I nodded happily. I need all the information I could get that could help me with interacting with my twin's colleagues.

"Do you have your phone with you?" I nodded at her before fishing out my phone from my pocket.

"Good. Search up King Curtis and look through his photos. That way, you can visualize yourself talking to him." I typed in King Curtis in the search box and entered, then tons of photos appeared before me.

"King Curtis. He's the jolliest and goofiest one in the group. He always cracks up jokes in random times and he does the weirdest things. He can sing, rap, and he's good in dancing, too. From what I've observed, Kaline and King get along very well. She always goes along with his facades and jokes and she's his sidekick." She said as I continued scanning his images.

"Lester Till." I typed it in and looked at his photos.

"Lester Till is the milder version of King when it comes to playing and goofing around. Those two get along very well and whenever one of them gets in the zone, the other one follows. He's very good in dancing and singing, but unlike King, he can't rap. He tries, but ends up babbling. Kaline and Lester get along very well, too. The managers call the little group of Kaline, Lester, and King "The Eggnogs" because whenever they're together, they can't be tamed and they are the noisiest ones. He works out, too, that's why his body is a bit toned. Oh, and one of the things about him that his fans love the most is his abs."

"Uh, do I really have to remember the last one you said?" I asked awkwardly. She glanced at me and smirked.

"Eh, not really. But if you want, then okay." I can feel my cheeks burning and I turned away from her.

"Let's move on to the next member, then. Aki Stephenson."

"Aki is the rapper of Silhouette Aces. Whenever they are hanging out as a group, he sometimes stays in one corner, writing a song or dozing off. He's the quiet and mysterious one in the group, but when he's on stage already, the inner monster in him unleashes. He's very good in rapping and singing, but he dislikes dancing although he's a bit good at it. He loves to sleep and lazy around whenever they're not doing anything. He doesn't like getting tired and sweaty, too. He wrote two of the songs in the first and self-titled album of Silhouette Aces and he sometimes writes his own raps, too. Aki and Kal get along with each other, too, especially when it comes to sleeping. The both of you are quite the sleepyheads, eh?" I just nodded at her before typing in the name of the last member: Jio Anderson.

If there's one member of Silhouette Aces that Kaline always talks about, it's Jio. I don't know if they're just really close or what but I think Kal has a crush on him. I told her that, too, and she just laughed at me and said that she doesn't like him that way.

"Looks like you already know who Jio is." Quinn pointed out as she saw me scrolling through his images already.

I nodded my head at her. "Kaline has told me a lot about him. I don't know if they're just close or what but she can't stop talking about him." She just laughed at what I said and nodded.

"I know, right? That's what I've been trying to tell her, too. But she kept on denying and saying, "We're just friends." but her actions say otherwise. You're twin is quite the denial type."

"Yeah, she sure is."

After a few minutes, we already arrived in Quinn's shop that is located outside of Hollywood. We got out of the car and when I looked up, in front of me stood a two-storey building painted with pastel pink and white, kind of giving me the idea of strawberry marshmallows. On top of the building are the gold and glittering letters of the salon's name, Quinn W.

Once inside the salon, you can tell that they receive and accommodate numerous customers because of the number of salon seats and cute couches for those who will be waiting for their turn. No one's in the salon yet except for Quinn and I, and once she already opened the lights upstairs, where she said will be working her magic on me, she gestured for me to follow her.

This part of the salon, however, is very different from the first floor. It's so spacious and it only contains pastel pink and beige couches and coffee tables and a coffee maker by the wooden door that has a sign that says "Do Not Enter". We walked towards it and Quinn produced a golden key from her pocket and used it to unlock the door. She twisted the knob and pushed it open and left the door open for me. As soon as I stepped inside, I swear I heard my jaw hit the ground hard.

There are two salon seats in front of the mirror (the one that has little lightbulbs around it, the usual Hollywood thing), then a long couch in front of the door. Then there's a tall and wide shelf that holds shampoos, conditioners, hair relaxing oils, hair colors, nail polishes, BB creams, gloss tubes, and other stuff that they use in makeup, hair, and mani-pedi. I'm not a fan of those stuff but I can't help but stare at the shelf with awe.

"Your drool's on your chin." I gasped in horror and brought my hand up to my chin. When I felt nothing, I heard Quinn chuckle.

"I was calling you but you won't come. I'm going to show you something." She opened a door and gestured for me to follow her. It's a walk-in closet, and it looks like it's gonna burst of articles of clothing. Really, how rich is she to have all these?

"Now that I've given you a tour, let's start with your makeover! I'm so excited." She squealed and I just forced a smile as she pushed me down on a seat. He-he. Yeah. Fun.

×

"K-Karine?"

I slowly lifted my heavy eyelids, trying to look at the person talking to me. I felt a tap on my shoulder and I turned my head there.

"Hey, wake up. It's almost 7." I pushed myself up and brought my hands to my eyes when someone grabbed both my wrists and I looked up and narrowed at the person. My vision is still kind of blurry but I was able to make out the face of the person. It's Troye.

I pulled myself up from the soft seat and lifted up my hands to rub my eyes when someone grabbed my wrists, preventing me to do so. I narrowed my eyes at the person who prevented me again and this time, my eyes landed on Kent.

"Nuh-uh. You'll ruin your makeup, sweetie." My eyebrows scrunched up and I turned to my left to look at the mirror. My eyes widened as I took in my reflection.

My chestnut brown hair is now dyed jet black, resembling Kaline's hair in her photos on Facebook during their tour. The only difference is that mine isn't straightened, it's still in its natural waves, flowing down my shoulders. My eyelashes feel a litle heavier than before and I suppose it's because of the mascara that Quinn used. I think she's going for a smoky look because of the eyeliner, eye shadow, and blush-on that she applied on me. My pale pink lips are now painted with a scarlet lipstick that are too bright for my taste. But nonetheless, I think Quinn cleaned me up very well.

"Oh, you're awake." I heard a door closed and I turned to Van who just got in in the room. "The boys are getting ready for the dinner. You should, too." I nodded at him before standing up and shrugging off the blanket that I didn't know was draped over my shoulders.

"Come, Karine." Troye said as he pushed me at the small of my back and we entered the walk-in closet that Quinn showed me earlier. After closing the door behind us, he grabbed the clothes on the couch and showed it to me.

"Since you're going to a semi-fancy dinner with Silhouette Aces, and since it'll be the first time that they'll see you after a month, of course as Kaline, I figured that a cocktail dress will be the perfect one for tonight." He said before dragging me to a big mirror and holding up an orange dress in front of me.

He wrinkled his nose. "Definitely not this." He tossed it back to the couch and held up a silver dress.

"Too shiny."

"Too short."

"Too long."

And the list goes on. After eight minutes of commenting about how awful the dresses are, he finally grinned at me as he held up the rose red dress closer to me. It's a turtle neck dress and a sleeveless one and it has a large cut at the back. It ends just above my knees, which is okay with me. And whenever I would turn and walk, it's flowy skirt tickles my pale thighs.

After putting it on, Troye slipped on a pair of black pumps to my feet and tossed a black purse at me, my phone and other female stuff inside. With a sigh, I stepped out of the room and down the stairs of the salon where Van and the others are waiting. When Kent saw me, he let out a wolf whistle and I just laughed at him.

"About time." Van said and I just rolled my eyes at him before following them out of the place. Quinn and I arrived here by nine in the morning and I've slept at around twelve of afternoon so I've been knocked out for almost seven hours. I grimaced at my thoughts. I didn't know that I'm that big of a sleepyhead.

"Where's Quinn?" I asked as I got in in Van's car. I wanted to take shotgun but Kent beat me to it so I was forced to sit on the passenger. I noticed that Quinn wasn't around and Troye was the one who locked the salon.

"She already left an hour ago. Said she's going to meet up with a friend from Paris." Van said as we pulled out of the parking lot and drove off.

As we are nearing Graciano's, the restaurant where we'll be having dinner, the shaking of my knees gets worse. Van must've noticed it because when we came into a halt because of the stoplight, he turned to me and asked if I was okay. I covered it up by saying that the song playing is my jam and I'm just tapping my foot to the beat. He looked like he didn't buy my lie, but at least that made him get his attention off of me. Kent just smirked at me through the rear-view mirror and I glared at him and mouthed for him to shut up.

The car stopped moving as Van already parked it perfectly in the parking lot. He cut the engine off and hopped out and opened the door for me and I soon followed him out. I stared at the establishment in front of me, my eyes raking over the large letters of Graciano's. Sighing deeply, I recited a silent prayer in my head and looped my arm with Van, who said that this is how he and Kaline usually are around the boys. With Kent in tow, we entered the resto.

This is it...
