I've always loved David Attenborough's famous Animal Documentaries on BBC I-Player. My favourite series and most rewatched series is Blue Planet 2.

This story is a swapped perception of what the sea creatures face due to us causing Plastic Pollution. I thought this would help present the damage we are doing as it instead directly effects us as humans in the story.

Some smaller animals use these Plastic objects to store eggs or support themselves (such as the seahorse on the cotton bud). Yet many animals get tangled or stuck in plastic objects and suffocate.

My main characters, the Cephala's are based off a family of Short-finned Pilot Whales that are seen in Blue Planet 2 episode 4 (The Big Blue).

In this part of the episode Attenborough explains how Plastic affects the animals, then we see a family of Short-finned Pilot Whales. The mother whale is holding a piece of plastic (possibly a linen bag or Plastic net thing) that has a baby tangled up inside. The baby is dead but she can't bear to part from her child, as she too feels emotions like we do. Probably even stronger than us.

It is one of the most heartbreaking scenes and it really brings across the emotional effect of Plastic on the innocent creatures.

The Cephala's

Tallulah Cephala
Mother of three. She works for Police forensics. She is not as carefree as her husband and is quite weary about the safety of her children. She could be described as over protective but she just loves them top much to lose them.

Felix Cephala
Husband to Tallulah and father of three. He is an optimist and a Carpenter of sorts. He is carefree and wants the children to explore the world instead being held in his wife's protective arms.

Noah Cephala
The oldest son in the family, he is 16 years old and is at the rebellious stage of his life. Normally out of the house hanging out at the skate parks with mates.

Lily Cephala
The only daughter of Felix and Tallulah, she is 12 years old. She is afraid of everything and prefers to stay in her mother's protective arms.

Kai Cephala
The youngest son in the family, he is 5 years old. He is curious if the world around him. His mother tends to worry about him when he is out of her sight.
