"Is that why you're here?" Sadie asked. "To figure out the Second Task?"

"Yeah," Harry said gloomily.

"What've you got to do?"

The boy hesitated, for a moment.

"Look, you don't have to help, it's fine-"

"-Tell me,"

"I..." he sighed. "I have to find a way to stay underwater for an hour."

It was obvious Harry wasn't one who liked to ask for help from people he didn't know too well.

"Oh,"

She stayed quiet for a few seconds, running through ideas in her brain. She was sure she'd read about a plant in Herbology that helped you breathe underwater - she was sure of it. She just couldn't remember the name.

"I think there's a plant that helps you breathe underwater," she said. His face lit up.

"Brilliant! Do you know what it's called?"

Sadie wiped her tired eyes, and shook her head.

"I'm sorry, Harry, I can't remember,"

His expression fell.

"I'll help you find it out, though," she said, before turning and reading the bindings of different books on the shelves. There'd be a book about it somewhere...

"Thanks, Sadie," Harry begun, as he watched the girl concentrate. "But we've already looked through most of those books. We couldn't find anything,"

"I'm tellin' you," the blonde said confidently. "There's a plant that helps you breathe underwater. I'm sure."

"You're sure?"

"One hundred percent," she said. "We just need to find the name of it,"

And so, the two scrambled through many more Herbology books in hope of finding said plant, especially Sadie, for she was itching to be able to help and finally put her - what she thought was useless - knowledge of plants to good use.

The blonde girl didn't notice Moody send another boy around the corner, to 'help Potter put his books away'.

"You know," Neville Longbottom said, making Sadie jump. She swore under her breath.

"If you're really interested in plants, you'd be better off with Goshawk's Guide To Herbology," he explained.

Harry glanced at Neville before his eyes flicked to Sadie. She sent him a slight frown in return, although her lips were still curved upwards.

"Did you know there's a wizard in Nepal who's growing gravity resistant trees-?"

"-Neville," Harry interrupted, clearly tired and desperate to find out the plant Sadie had mentioned. "No offence, but I really don't care..."

Sadie bit the inside of her cheek to prevent herself from letting out a laugh.

"...about plants. But, if you knew the name of a particular plant that will allow me to breathe underwater, then that's great. Otherwise..."

"You could use gillyweed," said Neville, excited to be able to give Harry an answer. Sadie's face also lit up, as Harry turned to her with a hopeful expression.

"That's it!" she said a little too loudly, receiving a glare and a hush from Madame Pince. "Gillyweed!"

After returning from the library so late the previous night, Sadie had woken up later than her dorm mates, and was greeted by a small bit of parchment sitting on her bedside table.

Morning, sleeping beauty!

I tried to wake you, but failed since you could sleep through a tornado. Seriously, I don't understand how you do it.

Gone to the black lake with Chad, meet you there!

The blonde had leapt up immediately and gotten ready, not wanting to miss the second task.

She felt a bit like a stalker, because as she headed down to the black lake, she caught sight of Potter yet again - was she noticing him more? Or was he just around her more often, now? She could never tell.

Harry was walking with Neville, talking to him anxiously as he clutched what looked like some gillyweed. Sadie was quite surprised to see that Ron and Hermione weren't with him. Maybe Harry had woken up late like she had and his friends had done the same as hers.

"Hi!" she said cheerfully, catching up with the two boys. Harry almost jumped when she appeared, but gave her an awkward smile when he realised it was just Sadie.

"Hi..."

"Gillyweed at the ready?"

"Yeah..." he said, though the tone in his voice highlighted how nervous he felt. Sadie's cheery attitude was a bit overwhelming at this moment. "You're sure about this?"

"Definitely," Sadie said confidently.

"For an hour?"

"Absolutely,"

"Most likely," Neville added. Sadie shot him a glance.

"Most likely?" Harry repeated, his head turning to look at Neville, visibly becoming more stressed.

"Well, there is some debate among herbologists about the effects of saltwater versus freshwater, but-"

"-Neville," Sadie interrupted, shaking her head slightly. Yes, Neville was probably right - but there was no use panicking Harry now.

"You're telling me this now?!" Harry said, a horrified expression growing on his face. "You must be joking!"

"I just... wanted to help..." Neville trailed off.

"You'll be fine," Sadie reassured, as Harry gave her a worried look.

"You think?"

"You have my word!" she joked, with a grin. But Harry was too stressed to joke right now.

"...Exactly how reliable is your word?"

The blonde blinked for a few seconds, before shrugging.

"Reliable enough. It's not just mine, anyway, it's Neville's as well,"

Harry hoped the fact that because Sadie was in Ravenclaw she might be correct about her knowledge of gillyweed. Ravenclaws were supposed to be clever, weren't they?

"Well, that makes you both a right sight better than Ron and Hermione. Where are they, anyway?"

Neither had an answer to that.

"You seem a little tense, Harry," Neville stated.

"Do I?" Harry retorted sarcastically. Sadie grinned.

The group reached the black lake, and Marianne and Chad didn't fail to raise their eyebrows at the sight of Sadie walking with Harry, and tease her afterwards about it.

"I was only walkin' with him because you two ditched me!" she defended.

"Yeah, because you sleep like you're in a coma," Marianne said. "There's no waking you - if you were dead, we wouldn't have known,"

"Well, it's a good thing I wasn't, then,"

"Nah, it's a shame, really," Chad joked, receiving a playful whack on the shoulder.

"You're so horrible," Sadie told him, when the bubble of chatter around them slowly died down as Dumbledore called for silence.

"Welcome to the second task!" He spoke loudly, over a commotion of Durmstrang students chanting something for Krum. "Last night, something was stolen from each of our champions. A treasure, of sorts,"

"Lovely, now they're thieving bastards as well. Wonder what they took?" Sadie and Marianne heard a girl behind them say. They sniggered at her comment.

"These four treasures, one for each champion, now lie at the bottom of the Black Lake. In order to win, each champion need only find their treasure, and return to the surface,

"They will only have one hour to do so, and one hour only. After that, they'll be on their own. No magic will save them,"

"That's not scary for them," Chad muttered sarcastically.

"You may begin at the start of the canon,"

Shortly after, the canon sounded and three of the four champions dived in gracefully. Harry was coughing and spluttering.

"He's choking on the gillyweed," Sadie muttered with a concerned expression.

"Gillyweed?" Marianne pulled a face.

Moody wasn't bothered by the boy's state, and pushed him in the water, after the other three. Sadie's eyes widened.

"Well, that was a dignified way of getting him in,"

And now, all everyone had to do was wait, talking amongst themselves as they waited for the first champion to resurface. The blonde desperately hoped her suggestion of gillyweed hadn't turned out to be a bad idea - she couldn't cope with the guilt if it was.

It was around an hour before two heads emerged. Sadie leaned forward to catch a glimpse of who it was, before Marianne's jaw dropped and Chad's eyes widened at the sight of Cedric Diggory pulling Cho Chang along.

"They put people in there!" Chad practically yelled. "They actually put people in there!"

"Oh my god," Sadie laughed nervously, putting a hand over her mouth.

"Oh, brilliant, apparently kidnapping is a thing at this school now," the same girl from before said, and Sadie turned around to catch a glimpse of Kaya Bennett sitting next to Fred Weasley, wearing a judgemental expression.

In all fairness, nobody would've expected anything less from the sixth year. She couldn't control her sarcasm. Sadie chuckled, turning back to her friends.

Diggory climbed out with a large grin on his face, Cho Chang at his side shivering intensely. Many Hufflepuffs rushed over to greet their friend with towels, and Cho Chang's group of girls joined them.

They were shortly followed by Viktor Krum and Hermione, emerging from the water. Sadie, Chad and Marianne decided to grab the girl a few towels since none of her friends seem to be around.

"I wonder who's in there for Harry," Sadie said, as the two walked to try and get to the soaking wet girl.

"Ron, probably," Chad said. "Haven't seem him anywhere - plus, he'd probably be with Hermione if he wasn't missing,"

"Shame it's not you, eh?" Marianne winked, and Sadie playfully rolled her eyes.

"Hermione! You must be freezing, my girl," Chad said, as they all greeted her with layers of towels. She smiled at them through chattering teeth and shivers.

"Thank you," she said, practically through a whisper.

"So that's, Cedric and Krum back," Marianne noted. "Just Fleur and Harry now-"

"Just Harry, more like," Sadie interrupted, nodding towards the water, where Fleur had appeared on her own, clearly injured.

"Oh, crap," Chad muttered as they all gazed at the state the Beauxbatons girl was in. Hermione continued to shiver.

"Awe," Sadie said sympathetically, wrapping the girl a hug in hope to warm her up. "Why'd they have to do this one in February? Couldn't they have done this one as the third task in June?"

Hermione laughed in agreement, although she and the rest of the group kept their eyes on the water. Three champions had returned - Harry couldn't be far, could he? Then again, he always seems to get himself into trouble. Sadie just hoped it wasn't too much trouble.

Suddenly, two heads appeared in the water and everyone stood up or leaned forward to catch sight of - Ron Weasley and who Sadie could only assume as Fleur's little sister.

"Ron!" Hermione called, as he climbed up the deck, helping Fleur's sister as he did so. The red-headed boy walked over to them, Seamus and Dean appearing also with a couple towels.

"Bloody hell," Ron said as he shivered. But everyone was too concerned about the fact that they'd returned without Harry. Sadie started to feel a pit of guilt in her stomach - maybe her gillyweed suggestion hadn't worked at all.

But, she was put at ease at the sight of the raven haired boy emerge from the water. The group rushed over, Seamus wrapping a towel around him immediately as he coughed and spluttered.

"Go get him another towel," Seamus told Dean, who then rushed off.

"I want all the judges over here, now!" Dumledore ordered, as even Fleur Delacour rushed over to see Harry.

"You saved my little sister, even though she wasn't yours to save! Thank you!" she cried happily, kissing him on the cheek. Seamus wrapped shorter towel around the boy.

"And you!" Fleur said, standing up and turning to Ron. "You helped!"

"Well... yeah, a bit," he said bashfully, before his eyes widened at too receiving a kiss from Fleur. Chad and Sadie exchanged smirks.

"Harry!" Hermione cried out, practically shoving another towel on him.

"Hermione- ow," Harry said to the girl.

"Are you alright?! You must be freezing!"

She reached for a towel, which Sadie passed her, and wrapped it around the boy.

"Personally, I think you behaved admirably," she rambled.

"I finished last, Hermione,"

"Next to last! Fleur didn't get past the grindylows,"

Sadie crouched opposite him.

"The gillyweed wasn't a huge mistake then?" she said to him, with a smile. "Now you know how reliable my word is," she added playfully.

"You are brilliant, Sadie!" He said in return, causing the girl's grin to widen. Marianne and Chad wiggled their eyebrows at the blonde.

"It wasn't just me," she said humbly. "Neville was the one who figured out the name. You did amazingly, though!"

Harry was clearly still trying to catch his breath back and so beamed at the girl instead.

Dumbledore pushed through the crowd of Durmstrangs, still chanting the same rhythm for Krum.

Cedric obviously received the most points and placed first. But, because of Harry's act of bravery in saving two students instead of one, he was awarded extra points and was now tied with Cedric. Krum came second, leaving Fleur in last.

Sadie was ecstatic for the raven-haired boy - and perhaps a little for herself as well, because her mission of trying to help him turned out to be a success.
