So I had this really cool dream last night, and I've decided to turn the idea of it into a book and species. So these creatures have 3 stages of transformation. The first stage, they look just like a human, and are born like this. The second stage, their arms get longer, and they have these billowy wings that are connected to their hands and their ankles and they have no bones in them. They also have some characteristics of one animal, like a bat or a fish or a wolf. The one featured above is a bat/spider and that is its full transformation. It's wings get bigger, the animal features get more prominent, and they turn one color, with varying shades of that color. They look like a human with they're firstborn. They have their first transformation around five or six and they transform into the second stage. Once they transform for the first time their parents take them to an underground marketplace which is a safe haven for these creatures and they buy them a sort of ornate scroll thing, that looks kind a like a flashlight. The child must test several of these things before one of the scroll things chooses them like in Harry Potter the wand chooses the wizard. Once they choose of them it will glow the same color that the child is like green or pink or gold. The scroll has several buttons on it that can do different things like levitate objects or make the owner invisible.  It all depends on what scroll chooses you. You cannot fly in the second stage but once you get to the third stage you can. In the second stage you can barely get up off the ground but you will fall. These are currently not an open species until I get all the details done and get out an actual reference for them, but once I do that they will be an open species for 2 to 3 days.
