Isa grasped Morgan's hand tighter as they walked from his car up to the huge house with a porch along the entire house in front of them.
"They won't bite..." Morgan smiled down at her, and Isa took a deep breath, trying to be brave. "It's their son, the vampire that bites."
She glared at him with a face and it helped; for a while she forgot to be nervous. As they ascended the huge stairs, the door flung open and a familiar darkhaired girl stood on the threshold. "Morgan!" She smiled wide. "You no good excuse of a brother!"
Isa blinked surprised and watched Morgan grin wide and give her a one-armed hug; still keeping Isa's hand in his.
"Mad!"
"It's been to long!" The sister complained into his shoulder as they hugged.
"Yeah I know, I've been busy. You've already met 'Feleysia'".
"Hi Feleysia." She pulled Isa in for a warm hug. "Mom and Dad's been dying to meet you, and me too."
Wow! Isa's heart swelled at the thought and she snickered nervously. "It's good to see you again," she said and thought how good it was to have the energetic and sweet girl there.
Madilyn held Isa on an arm's length, studying her face thoroughly, embarrassingly enough making Isa's cheeks turn pink. A smile appeared on her face. "You're beautiful!"
Isa laughed. "So are you," she replied, and the girl really was. She had short pixie hair in the same black color as her brother, and the same dark eyes, but Madilyn's were blue.
"Can I have her back now please, Madilyn?" Isa heard Morgan ask and she turned to watch him standing behind her. There was a smile on his face, but his eyes were weary. Was he worried like her?
Isa beamed up at him, took his hand and let him lead her up to the front door.
In the main living area, his parents sat on a couch and they both got on their feet as the couple entered the room. "Morgan, baby!" his mother exclaimed and hurried her steps to hug her son.
"Hi mom," Morgan said soft to her as they hugged. "I want you to meet my girlfriend."
Isa smiled at her and proffered a hand. "Felicia," she said polite and the woman loosened her grip on her son, to beam at Isa.
"Hi Felicia." To Isa's surprise, the woman pulled her close and kissed Isa on the cheek. "Welcome! I'm Joanne; it's so nice to finally meet you!"
Isa instantly liked her.
"And this is my father; Derrick." Morgan gestured to a man by their side with the same dark brown hair as Morgan. "Dad this is Feleysia; Or Eysa," he added with a smile at her. "It's okay if they call you Eysa, right."
She was surprised at his question. "Of course it is." Isa smiled at them and Derrick pulled her in for a hug, before he kissed her cheek. "Welcome!"
Madilyn walked around and joined their little circle. "So which one is it; Felicia or Feleysia?" she wanted to know.
Isa laughed a bit. "It's actually Felicia, but in the southern part of Sweden where I'm from, it's pronounced Feleysia. Morgan has been really good at picking that up." Isa turned to smile at him.
"Like I've said; accents are my job." He smiled back.
"Oh, do sit down." Derrick gestured to the couch and they sat down.
Isa was thinking about their ways and the famous southern hospitality, when his mother Joanne spoke. "We've been dying to meet you." She had a huge smile on her face and Isa could recognize some of the features in Morgan.
Isa smiled back, blushing slightly. "It's so nice to finally meet you as well. Morgan kind of tumbled into my family rather abruptly."
Morgan laughed and told his version of the first meeting with Isa's mother; when he still thought she was Robert's girlfriend. "I should have known, just by looking at you, that you would never do anything like that."
Isa laughed right out. "No, I would definitely not!" She beamed at him. "That's not who I am; but we didn't know each other then, everything was just surface."
He smiled proudly at her, but didn't add anything more.
Isa looked around in the gorgeous house. "So this is how you grew up." She turned her eyes to his parents. "This is an astoundingly beautiful home," she said, meaning every word; it was grandeur. "I come from a much humbler surrounding."
Morgan cleared his throat. "Sweetie, that penthouse in Manhattan is not humble."
"But that's not where I grew up." Isa smiled at him, and realized that they probably shouldn't be bickering in his parents' house. She turned towards Joanne and Derrick. "My parents got divorced when I was twelve and I grew up partly in a small house in Sweden and partly in Hoboken, New Jersey. It was much more humble than this grandeur." She gestured as she once more looked around this room that could only be described as a parlor.
"This is the house where Derrick grew up." Joanne said proudly and her husband nodded.
"Really?" Isa's eyebrows flew up in surprise. "That's amazing; a house with that much history, so many memories." She suddenly didn't recognize herself. Isa used to be shy, but here she sat, talking to his parents like they had known each other a life-time.
While sitting here in their gorgeous old house, Isa noted that the husky southern drawl that Morgan used for his character Vincent, wasn't Vincent's at all, but Morgan through and through. They were sitting here in the south and Isa couldn't believe it had taken her a good half an hour to notice that his entire family had that warm, inviting southern accent.
"Didn't I tell you she's a sweetheart?" Madilyn exclaimed, and Isa felt her cheeks go pink in an instant.
Their parents chuckled. "She sure is!" Derrick said with a sweet chuckle. "How did you manage to get a girl like this?" He asked his son, who grinned wide. "Without any help from me," he added and by now they all laughed freely together.
"Well, it wasn't easy Dad," Morgan said, beaming toward Isa.
"Wasn't easy?" she teased him. "I offered to make out with you the second time I saw you." They heard supressed chuckles around them.
"Yes, but I could have hurt you!" He turned to tell his family how he had been in full make up with fangs and everything, and how he had tried to scare her, looking like that. They laughed at the whole situation, while Isa explained how cocky he had been and that she just wanted to put him in his place.
"Finally!" Madilyn said and wanted Isa to do a high-five with her, which they all laughed at as their hands met. It felt so good to sit there with his family, laughing and joking, like they had know each other a lifetime already.
After a delicious lunch, they were sipping homemade lemonade in this beautiful antebellum house, while Isa was flipping through some old family albums his mother gladly provided. Isa could see how much Morgan looked like his father had done when he was younger, and she amused herself by pondering if he would look like his father, a still handsome man, when he got older. Was there a chance that the two of them would sit like this, talking with their children? Perhaps she was rushing things, but Isa wanted to have children some day, and there just wasn't room for any in Morgan's hectic life.
They had a delicious dinner with his parents, while asking Isa about her life; how life was like in Sweden and if it was so different from America. She had to inform yet again that they didn't have any polar bears, and hardly any bears in Sweden. How she had to move to the States, because she ironically enough flunked in English at school.
"Now that can't be true! You speak better English than I do!" Madilyn objected to Isa's amusement.
"My English-teacher was zealed with a British accent, and I don't have that!" Isa explained with a little extra southern accent to it and the other laughed.
The time was late when Morgan took Isa's hand and led her to his old boy room. She was very curious about the remnants of his teens were obvious, with schoolmemorabilia and photos of him and friends on the walls.
"Your parent's are allowing us to sleep in the same room?" Isa asked humorously thinking of her own mother's objections.
He smiled. "Under my direct orders." He had a pleased smile on his face.

Next morning he held her hand as they walked into the dining room. A huge breakfast was set upon the table and Morgan held a chair out for Isa during the accustomed conversation if they had slept well.
"It's really nice to have Morgan bring a girl over to meet us; it's been forever since..." Joanne stopped herself when she realized what she was about to say.
Isa smiled at her. "It's okay, we've talked about Alice."
"Yeah, and I've met her ex; Fredrick," Morgan said, and his family seemed to hold their breath. "He even showed up at Eysa's birthday party."
"Are you still friends?" Madilyn asked with a carefully curiosity.
"No!" Isa's tone made it absolutely clear. "It was a bad breakup of a bad relationship that wasn't supposed to be at all," she summoned up.
The day was spent with Morgan showing her his hometown. Isa really liked to walk through his high school grounds as he was telling her little anecdotes. She still had a hard time believing that he hadn't been one of the popular guys, even if she had seen photos of him. She had her hand securely in his and it felt amazing.
"Gym was my favorite, and I was actually quite good at it." The pride was obvious in his voice as he bragged about some records he broke.
"Morgan Gray?" Both of them turned around, half expecting it to be some journalist, photographer or fan. "Is it you, Morgan?" A girl or woman, stood in front of them looking a bit confused. She was carrying a little bit extra weight, and didn't look like any of the girls Isa had seen hanging around Morgan before.
"Sandra?" Morgan let go of Isa's hand and gave the girl an awkward kiss on the cheek. "It's been... forever." Surprised Isa noted that he was suddenly almost stuttering. This slick super-movie-star was nothing but an awkward teenager. "Oh, this is Eysa, my girlfriend." Luckily he remembered that she was there and he put his arm around her waist. "Eysa, this is Sandra; we went to high-school together."
"Hey Sandra, it's really nice to meet you." Isa smiled generously and shook her hand. "Is it really true that he wasn't that popular in school; I'm having a hard time believing it," she chatted on in an attempt to lessen the tension. It was obvious that this girl meant a lot to Morgan way back when.
Sandra smiled weakly and her eyes flickered between Morgan and Isa. "Yes, it is true; he wasn't such a looker he is now." She had a shy smile on her face and they chuckled awkwardly.
"Well you were," he replied and Isa had to work hard not to acknowledge the jealousy that surged through her. Did he still have a crush on this girl?
"Lucky I met you after you bloomed." Isa joked and just put a hand on his chest which seemed to snap him out of his reminiscence. He looked almost surprised at her. "Yes, otherwise I would never had a chance at you."
At once Isa had a serious case of bad conscience for being jealous when he was such a sweetheart. Looking up at his old high-school crush made Isa think about what she must have looked like when they were younger. Even if she looked like life had been hard in her, there were classic beauty in her features.
"So... how have you been?" Morgan asked Sandra, but Isa felt his grip on her harden just a fraction. The girl told briefly about her past; college and some broken relationship. It was a sad story and Isa immediately felt sorry for her.
"Mommy, mommy!" a little girl was interrupting them as she ran up to Sandra.
Morgan and Isa lost their composure for a while. Isa had never met the girl, but was surprised anyhow.
"Hey Sweetie." Sandra lifted the two year old. "These are friends of mine; Morgan and Isa." She introduced what they'd already figured was her daughter. They said hi and then suddenly the girl had some bathroom emergency and they had to take off. "Nice to meet you!" she called as they ran.
Morgan and Isa resumed their walk under silence for a while.
"Soo... high school sweetheart, eh?" Isa couldn't help but to tease him a bit about the obvious.
"Eh... we were never together..." Morgan said, in an embarrassed tone. "I just...eh..."
Isa couldn't help but to giggle. "I was just teasing you," she admitted childishly. "You've met my ex..."
His expression changed from embarrassed, through surprised, and then humorously relieved. "You're teasing me?"
Isa borrowed Vincent's feign innocent look, which made Morgan just laugh right out. "Little girl; have you any idea who you are messing with?" He also used Vincent's threatening tone, which worked. Shills ran through Isa, which she tried to hide with a smile. "Now you've really made the bad side come out."
Suddenly he was chasing a laughing Isa through the school premises on their way back to his parents' house. Derrick and Joanne were very glad to see them joking around and they smiled as if the couple had told them they were bringing them grandchildren.
Isa really liked them and they promised to come and visit again, before it was time to go back to Greenville again.
