Christmas

Morgan was restless on the flight over to New York and arrived in the morning of Christmas Eve. As always there were a lot of people at this airport, but they seemed to be focused on getting to their destinations, and not stalking some poor defenseless guy like him. Morgan was grateful.
He went through customs, got his bag and went out to get a cab.
So used to people shouting his name, Morgan did his best to tune them out, and walked straight to the door. For the first time in a really long time, he had no patience for his lovely fans; Morgan just wanted to get to Isa's place without any interceptions. His phone signaled just when he was about to get into a cab, but as he looked at the phone it was Isa.
"Are you too cool to stop and talk to me?"
He furrowed his brows. "What do you mean?"
"Turn around!"
Morgan turned and there she stood before him, looking like a goddess as usual. He just lowered the phone. "You came to meet me?" He was stating the obvious.
"Yes, but with you being this famous movie-star and all, you just didn't listening to anyone calling your name, right?" The teasing sarcasm was flowing and she gave him a weak smile.
He had always praised his fans and now guilt swept over him. "You called for me in there?"
"Mhmm..."
"I'm sorry!" He felt really bad, but had other things on his mind than to dwell in guilt. She was about to turn towards the row of cabs and Morgan gripped around her wrist. "May I hug you?" He had been a bit weary and just held her hand the last time they met.
With a smile on her face she took the few steps that separated them, and slid her arms around his waist. Morgan caged her in his arms, careful not to hit her with the cast. This was the best Christmas gift ever, and he didn't want to let her go.
She untangled her arms and reluctantly he let her go. "Are you ready to get home?" she asked and just the word home felt like love. Morgan looked into her blue eyes and they revealed that her confidence was only skin-deep.
Her long blond hair swayed as she raised her arm like a true New York chick and got them a cab in a blink of an eye, and the driver skillfully took them to her parent's apartment building.
In the small area in the elevator Morgan allowed himself to look straight at her. "It's really nice to see you; you look amazing!" Actually, she was just skin and bones, but she did her best to hide it with those clothes.
She blinked. "Yeah, you too."
He could see her how shallow her breathing was, and if it had been any other girl he would have smirked by now, but they were pretty much in the same position. Morgan wanted to circle around her like a lion would a prey, but he couldn't even run his Vincent-player-act. The thought of pressing the elevator emergency stop and revel in her right here crossed his mind as they held the eye-lock during the entire ride up to the right floor.
The binging sound from the elevator was the thing that snapped them out of the hypnosis and they walked out on the landing. She opened the door and held it up to him; wasn't that his job?
They walked into the penthouse. "Morgan! It is so nice to see you again!" Krystal came and gave him a hug and it felt amazing to be back here. "Merry Christmas!" She smiled wide.
"Merry Christmas to you Krystal, and thank you for having me over." Morgan did his best to be respectful to this fabulous family.
"Don't be silly, of course you're welcome!"
"Hey man, welcome!" Robert came and gave his friend a hug and a back-slap. "It's nice to have you here, it's been a while."
Morgan didn't really know what to answer that. "Yeah, thanks."
Isa came up to stand beside him. "Can I help you with the bags?"
He just looked surprised at her, and remembered her row with her mother the first time he stood in this place. "Sometimes you're just so Swedish!"
Her mouth fell open and she just blinked a few times before she realized it was a joke. She closed her mouth and glared at him. "Touché..." she mumbled and Morgan smiled. "Okay then; you know where my room is." She was a little cocky, but he knew she did her best to hide her insecurity, her eyes revealed it.
"Yes, I remember..."
"Isa, you're being rude!" Her mother scolded her. "He has a broken arm!"
She looked a bit embarrassed and then she faked a courteous smile at me as she grabbed one of his bags. "This way Mr. Gray." Her voice had an unnatural high pitch.
"My pleasure, Miss Sahlin." Morgan replied with humor and walked behind her to the room he had shared with her before. "Are you sure you want me in your room?" he asked quiet when he had put his bag down in there.
She looked bemused at him, and it was a real true, honest moment between them, way off the public eye. "Yes," she said quietly.
He took her hand. "Thank you," Morgan really meant it. "Thank you for giving me another chance."
She looked peculiar at him. "Thank you for offering me one."
They shared lunch and that afternoon Robert's sister Ellen and her husband Bryan came over with their little daughter. The family members hugged and then Ellen and Morgan's eyes met.
"Hi there, handsome," Ellen said with an appreciative look. "It's really nice to see you again!"
He almost blinked in surprise. "Wow, don't you look hot?" Morgan said and she chuckled a bit embarrassed. Bryan and he said hi and even he looked pleased to see Morgan there.
"Yeah, since she popped out I have lost a few inches around the mid section." She held her daughter up and Morgan said a polite little baby-hello to her.
His eyes flickered between the two parents and their baby to look for resemblance; she had the same intense blue eyes as Robert and Ellen, and she looked a bit like Bryan around the mouth.
Isa met them and lifted their daughter into her arms. "Hi Estelle, my princess." The little one smiled toward her and Morgan could hardly believe the emotions that woke in him. He knew that she would be an amazing mother one day; Morgan who had never thought about kids suddenly knew that when the time was right, Isa was the girl he wanted to have them with.
"You broke your arm?"
Morgan thought Isa had said something about it, but apparently not. "Yeah, I was walking in traffic, but had my focus elsewhere." He looked at Isa.
"Because I'm so hot," she said and Morgan blinked in surprise at first before a wide smile grated his face.
He could see through the cocky joking though; she was just protecting her vulnerability. "Yes, that's absolutely right," he said and there was a flicker of emotions in her eyes.
They talked and talked and Morgan could hardly believe how welcoming this family was, even after what he had put Isa through. Despite the fact that they were sitting there on the coach after dinner, talking and laughing, Estelle just fell asleep in Isa's arms. Morgan thought babies were supposed to cry and yell, especially when they were tired.
The little family finally felt bad for their daughter and headed home. That seemed to signal for everybody that it was time to break this party off and head for the beds. After having wished everybody a good night Morgan walked after Isa to her room.
My God, this was even worse than the first time they slept together, Morgan thought. "Are you sure you wanna do this?" He had to ask her before they got any further.
She looked seriously at him. "This is not the first night we spend together, I'll be careful."
She had the nerve to use his lines? He had to work hard to hide his gasping, he watched as her face turned into a smirk. "If you're going to steal my lines, learn them properly. I said I'll be gentle." By now Morgan had a hard time to keep a straight face, but did his best to hold the eyebrow crooked. "Feleycia Saleyn, you're not trying to play me, are you?"
Her cocky face stiffened and lost a bit of its edge for a while. "I'm just trying to trick you to bed again," she said and couldn't help but to smile huge.
He had missed that grin on her face for so horribly, that Morgan couldn't look at her long enough. "You're a bad girl."
There was a smug grin enlightening her face. "I know."
Once again he was in deep awe of this girl; this woman standing before him. "Good." Morgan said slowly and she headed smilingly for the bathroom.
Morgan had forced himself not to look when she came back out in her short shorts and tank-top, and he remembered vividly the first time he stood in that room watching her enter in a similar outfit. Without saying a word or meeting her eyes Morgan walked into the bathroom. He took a few moments longer in there than he really needed. No, strike that; he needed to stand there in front of the mirror a few moments longer before he was ready to face her between the sheets. Did he need a pep-talk? Absolutely! Ashamed to say it, Morgan took a deep breath before he walked out to her again. "Will you behave?" He asked in a slightly superior manner and saw in her eyes that she totally got the humor behind it.
"I can't promise anything," she admitted and his heart started to hammer even harder.
Morgan lay down beside her, in deep need to take control of himself and this entire situation. What is a poor man supposed to do, but let his cocky, sarcastic alter ego step in? He let a hand slide from her elbow up to her hand, stopping by her wrist. "If I need to, I can pin you down to the mattress." He kept his voice slow and silent and by now he knew that this was a dangerous game even for him.
Her eyes widened a fraction. "Good to know," she said, her eyes signaling by looking between his eyes and his lips.
Morgan did his best to consciously ignore it and lay his head down on the pillow next to hers. "Good night gorgeous."
He saw her take a deep breath. "Good night, you naughty boy."
Oh, there's a thought...
Morgan couldn't take his eyes off hers; her beautiful blue eyes that he had missed so much. It felt like someone had a hold of his heart, making his entire chest hurt.
After a while of silence, she smiled. "Here we are again..." she mumbled and he had to give her one of his loopsided smiles.
"Yes, here we are again." Morgan's eyes flickered between hers, trying to register every inch of her face all over again. He saw how her cheekbones seemed to be just a fraction wider and the shadows under her eyes, which had been hidden under the make-up.
Her pink tongue slid out and wet those soft lips and Morgan wanted to just devour her; to wipe away those last six months from her memory as well as from his own. He looked up into her eyes, and then down to those lips again. "Eysa, may I kiss you?" he mumbled and she heard how his voice was thick and raspy.
Her eyebrows tilted in a sad expression, and Morgan heard her say: "I wish you didn't ask."
His heart stopped for a fraction, and he thought he could even hear it crack like a fragile kind of glass or even an eggshell.
"I wish you would just take me," she said and Morgan doubted he had heard right. "Just take me and make me yours again."
He wasn't sure if his eyes welled up, but the eyesight got blurry and he crashed his lips against hers, wrapped his arms around her and pinned her against him. Morgan could feel how she snaked her arms around his body and all that existed in this universe were the two of them.
Finally he had to break off the kiss and just look at her again, to make sure it really was her. "I have missed you every second of every day," he mumbled and wondered if he might have some brain hemorrhage, because he had never said anything like that to anyone before her.
Her eyes filled with tears. "I'm sorry."
"I'm sorry." They kept mumbling sorry between kissing each other. Morgan wanted to completely own her, but at the same time he wanted her to be ready first; or maybe it was he who wasn't ready yet. He just wanted to hold her close, wrap himself around her and not letting her get a chance to get away again.
That night no dreams were haunting him.

He couldn't believe his luck, waking up next to her, with his arms wrapped around her. Morgan thought that ship had sailed. "Merry Christmas, gorgeous."
She smiled at him; a sight that warmed his soul. "Merry Christmas." She smiled and snuggled a bit closer in his arms. "I'm sorry; I don't have any Christmas present for you. I... this was not decided."
"That's okay." Morgan tried to assure her. "Waking up next to you is the greatest gift of all," he said and could hear the phrase with a melody. "And I'm trying hard not to sound like some cheesy love song," he added which made her snicker.
Her laugh was the most beautiful sound in the world.
Morgan pulled her closer and smelled her hair, thinking about that time they were standing out on the balcony and he wanted to wrap her into his arms so badly; the air between them just sparkled and hummed.
Morgan swallowed. "I have a little something for you." All of a sudden it sounded as if he was standing in some tunnel, the sound bouncing between the walls. He got up from the bed, walked over to his suitcase and grabbed the tiny present. "Merry Christmas."
Isa's heart was pounding as Morgan slid back in bed and gave her a little red box. They were both propped up against the head board.
She could feel her own eyes giving him a puzzled look, and noted that he looked worried. "Thank you," she mumbled, with a mouth like Sahara, and she'd actually been in Sahara to know how dry it was. Her hands trembled a bit as they opened the lid of the little square red box to find a black velvet box inside; a jewelry box. With open mouth Isa looked up at Morgan, as if to ask if this was what it looked like. Since there were no answers visible in his eyes, she tilted the lid up to find a ring inside. Tears pooled in her eyes as she looked between the ring and Morgan's serious face.
"I planned on giving this to you for more than six months ago," he revealed and Isa's throat swelled. There was no sound coming out when she opened her mouth. "I never want to risk losing you again." Isa heard Morgan say, even though her pulse was pounding unbelievable high in her ears.
"Me neither," Isa squeaked out.
"So I'm asking you right here..." he said and Isa stopped breathing. "...if I can keep you by my side forever; not just on my terms this time, but on equal grounds." His eyes held all the pain that Isa had been through. "Eysa, will you marry me?"
Marry? She just blinked, and before she had time to answer, he kept talking. "Not now; I hope I get some time to gravel some more before and..."
"Yes," Isa said before he got a chance to continue. "Yes, I'll marry you." She was glad that her ability to speak returned to her. He had asked her to marry him; that felt like such a grown up thing to do, was Isa really ready? She had tried and knew she couldn't live without him.
His face just lit up as he took the ring and Isa's left hand before he slid the ring on her finger. It was beautiful, not in a flashy bold Hollywood kind of way, but with a humble almost antique ambiance.
Isa's eyes flickered between his glorious face and the beautiful ring, with its intricate swirls of oxidized silver and diamonds around the ring. The centered one was larger, not huge, but really stunning.
"We can exchange it if you don't like it." Morgan's voice snapped Isa out of her train of thoughts.
"Oh no; it's beautiful!" She looked up at his face and everything started to blur slightly. "Do you really want to do this?" she breathed, since her voice didn't respond correctly.
"Yes, I want you; I have wanted you since the first time I laid eyes on you." Isa heard him say and her eyes welled up. "These last six months only made my conviction stronger." She couldn't take her eyes from him as he spoke of love. "And if you want to live in Sweden, I will gladly move."
Isa felt like crying.
"I'll do anything to keep you. I love you"
That was when she turned and wrapped her arms around him, with tears running down her cheeks. It wasn't about marriage because frankly, that was just like some far away fantasy, but it was the idea that he was back in her life. The desperation of not having him by her side or not even having him on the other side of the globe had been hell, and here he was finally back in her life.

Isa held his hand as they walked out to meet her family. There was a smile on her face that lit up his soul, and Isa thought that she could give the sun a run for it's money when it came to lighting.
"Good morning, it looks like the two of you have slept well." Isa's mother grinned like the Cheshire cat.
Isa's smile disappeared momentarily.
"I would like to ask for your blessing." Morgan's words silenced everything in the kitchen. "I just asked Eysa to marry me."
They just stared at the couple.
"And I said yes." Isa beamed and slid an arm around Morgan's waist. He put his arm around her shoulders and pulled her toward him to give her a light kiss.
That certainly turned the sound on in the kitchen again.
"Congratulation!" Isa's mother wrapped her in her arms and then she hugged Morgan as well. "Of course you have our blessing."
"Blessing?" Robert walked into the kitchen just when Morgan and Isa got a hug each from David.
"Yeah, I'm not letting her go again." Morgan said and Isa showed Robert the ring.
At first he looked a bit surprised, but then he smiled towards them. "Good for you; you both look like shit!"
Krystal and David gasped, and Isa thought David scowled at Robert, but Morgan and Isa chuckled slightly; they could only agree.
"Can I see the ring again?" Isa held it up for her mother to see. "It's really beautiful."
"It belonged to my great grandmother," Morgan revealed.
Isa gasped and turned toward him. "And you said I could change it?" Isa exclaimed.
"Yes, I thought you might like it, but I wasn't sure."
She looked up in his honest and exposed face and tears filled her eyes again. "Now I love it even more!" He just smiled.
