CHAPTER - 38

Life will change after marriage.

This phrase I have heard many times before marriage. I also knew my life will change and it has changed for the better. My role as a husband is convenient as well as complicated.

Mishti is a simple girl with a perfect motive for her life to be the best for herself. Sometimes she is complicated. One thing I have learned about females is it's nearly impossible to understand their mood.

Mishti is nothing exceptional in these mood swings. There are days she'll just stay silent and the reason is simply.

How many times I have gone through innermost misery when she dwells mute, I start assuming maybe I have done something.

But then she may have her reasons which she isn't comfortable sharing with me, assuming that I also stay silent.

We all try but it's not easy to understand your other half. Things may look better but sometimes we all fail at it. The reason is lack of communication. We should learn to share our things and that is when we don't misunderstand each other.

Sadly, I and Mishti don't have an open gossip with each other. We talk about random things and each day I learn something new about her but we haven't reached that stage where we keep our hearts open to each other.

It's not like I want to rush things, it's just 1 month and 2 weeks to our marriage and I believe we are doing much better work with spending time with each other.

I just wish I could win her trust, make her feel safe with me. Because whenever anything occurs she would call me to help her out. I know she is apt of helping herself but I just wish to be with her, wish to be for her, as a friend, as a husband.

In the past weeks, we both have had unreasonable arguments and gossips. One moment, we would be laughing like manic with each other, another moment we will be throwing pillows at each other.

I argue because she gets up early in the morning to prepare breakfast. Masi or mom no one forces her to do work but she is always like - This is my duty, I don't want any special treatment. I am just doing what I want, you can't order me.

Could anyone just explain to her I haven't married her to do kitchen chores?

Helping would be fine, maybe she could after coming from office but Mishti is Mishti, adamant!

She argues with me because I work even at home.

But what she doesn't know is I work two hours at home so that I could visit her floor to check on her while she is working.

Those are the best moments I steal in the office. She's damn serious while she is working and that is what I love about her.

It's not surprising that she isn't aware of my gaze on her, she's so focused that she doesn't bother to keep a look at her surroundings.

More than half of her colleagues see me but they don't dare to say or do anything except Sara. Whenever she glimpses me she would wave crazily with a gigantic grin on her face.

Sometimes I call her to my office for no reason. I just like her presence around me, she is my peace after all, and I don't feel shame to accept this fact.

I just love the moment when we reach the juice bar. When I hold her hand as a sign of letting others know she is already mine she doesn't pull her hand away but instead, her grip tightens on my hand.

As soon as the server serves us the juice her eyes gleam with happiness. Tiredness wipes off from her face when she drinks the juice and my tiredness wipes when I see that genuine smile on her face.

There are days when she smiles for me and I feel the happiest man active in the world. I love to irritate her because that is the only time she behaves cute what makes her cuter is she doesn't try to act cute those are her realistic expressions.

"You aren't listening to me, are you?" I hear her annoyed voice, raising my head I look at her glaring at me as her hands rest on her hips. Leaving a deep breath she slumps on the arranged bed.

Shutting the laptop I walk towards, "Okay I'm sorry, tell me what you were saying." I sit next to her giving my attention to her.

"I was saying that I love to ride a bike but I don't know how to. Twice I met with an accident so Badi maa never allows me to ride a bike." Her gaze fixed somewhere and it's more like she's talking to herself.

"You don't have to worry about that, I'll tutor you and you know, I'll not let you fall." Her face glistened after listening to me.

"Really? You aren't kidding, right?" She roamed her eyes on my face to find humor in my words but all she will find is truth.

"You think I'm kidding?" I arch an eyebrow at her.

"Of course not!" She giggled happily, "Thank you. When are we starting?"

"Whenever we can." I shrug because you can't give a guarantee of anything.

The sound of the door opening harshly made us snap our heads there. Neha stood there trying to catch her breath, "Sorry sorry!" She breathed out closing the door behind her.

"Guys!" She jumped excitedly, "Your honeymoon tickets are booked!"

I and Mishti exchange glances with each other while she kept screeching and jumping in excitement.

"Neha, I guess you are confused. It's our honeymoon, not yours so stop being so enthusiastic." I roll my eyes at her while she stopped jumping and glared at me.

"I know, it's your honeymoon but I can't help being excited." She twirled around, "I can't wait to see Mishti's fat belly."

My eyes directly lower at Mishti's flat belly. Surprisingly, I watch Mishti's palm fondling her flat belly when I look at her I found her lost gazing at her belly!

"Just imagine," Neha sat in front of us, "You both will be having a baby in your arms.

He or she will be crying out loudly.

He or she will rule in this entire Rajvansh Mansion.

Abir will change his or her diaper.

He or she will kill your sleep with cries.

Bringing hands and fists toward the mouth.

Flinching at loud sounds, shutting eyes at bright lights.

Turning toward familiar sounds and voices, that'll be so cute.

Then they will start cooing.

Soon they will learn to hold their head up and push upward with their arms while lying on their tummy.

Making more vowel sounds like ooh and ah.

Recognizing familiar faces and objects from a distance.

They'll try to imitate facial expressions.

Holding a rattle and shaking it at the same time.

Starting to roll from tummy to back.

Pushing down on legs when held in standing position.

Grabbing their feet, and trying to insert them into their mouth.

Showing interest in the food you are eating, if their taste is like Abir then sweet and if their taste like Mishti then the juices and ice creams.

Sitting up briefly without any support.

Playing and expressing displeasure when playtime stops.

Recognizing their name.

Expressing emotion by crying or whining when sad or angry and laughing or squealing when happy.

Responding to expressions. Smiling at a smiling face, looking uncertain at a fearful one.

Putting objects in their mouth to explore them. You guys keep all garbage cans, diaper pails away.

Pulling up to a standing position.

Crawling, this will be my favorite.

Pointing at things they want.

Moving from pulling to stand or walking while holding on to furniture or objects around the room or hall.

Poking at things.

Banging objects together just to hear the sound they make.

Putting objects into a container and then taking them out again.

Feeding themselves finger foods.

Shaking their head "no" and waving "bye-bye". How cute that would be.

Continuing to explore language, calling you guys mama, dada, and maybe even the occasional uh-oh! using the right inflection.

Understanding simple declarative statements, such as "Don’t touch." "Don't eat that."

Copying your behaviors, like pushing buttons on a play phone and babbling to mimic conversation. Oh my!

Cruising, standing briefly unsupported, and maybe even taking a step or two.

Looking to the right object when we say, "Where’s Neha bua?" or "Where’s your chocolate?"

I just can't wait to see all of these!" She ended as she got up and squealed again.

I tilt to look at Mishti who keeps looking at her belly, if we both have never had the thought of being parents now we definitely do. Neha has just mentioned so cute things.

"You know you guys could do the baby process here as well but I understand you guys will be tired after returning from office so you end up sleeping. While Masi says you guys need some time, huh. That is why I suggested Aunt Meenakshi book tickets for your guys."

"But Neha why are you so excited?" I looked at her confused, "You were never fond of kids."

"My classmate has two elder brothers each of them has a child. She says daily my nephew did this yesterday, that yesterday. He stood up and fell on his bum. He took a bath of chocolate and all. I feel so jealous you know." She sounded a bit angry and a bit sad.

There was silence for a moment before she spoke, "Uh, I'm not asking you guys to dash, I mean... I was just saying. You can do whatever you want there's no hurry." She spoke hesitated presumably noticing Mishti silent for all the while.

Turning around she strode out of the room, "But give a second thought to it." She added before closing the door.

"Uh, I'll change and be back." I walk to the wardrobe and take my clothes before scooting to the washroom.

When I came out I watch Mishti sleeping on her side of the bed. Throwing the towel away I get inside the covers.

Snaking my arms around her waist I pull her into me which I usually do, my eyes close while sleep is far away from them.

I feel Mishti keeping her hand on my arm which is on her waist. "I love babies." I hear her mumble, I lean in to watch if she is speaking in her sleep or she is sleepless. She is awake, her eyes are wide open and it amazed me because I snuggle her always when she is asleep but today she was not sleeping.

"I love babies too," I whisper unhurriedly sloping my head on her shoulder.

Soon we wafted into a deep slumber, I guess, tonight we are going to dream about babies.

Baby dreams!

So, how was it?

I can't believe we are nearing 40 chapters! Thank you for the support and love you all shower on Sweetness Of Love. Your support has made this book even more special for me.

I have something to announce, I have started a new story on Mishbir. I would appreciate it if you guys give a try to that story as well. Below is the description of it.

CONNECTION.

Few people dwell away from their adored ones but constantly there is something that holds them connected. It is either some words, some letters, some memories or some stuff.

Mishti and Abir were away from each other for one year but still, they breathed connected through a bracelet.

Connections are created by destiny people don't bring them. We all know destiny does surprising things. Few surprises are on the way of Mishti and Abir.

❃❃❃

"Coffee?" I raise my eyebrows at him.

"Coffee with Mishti." He stood behind me as he wrapped his arms around my waist.

"Mind if I steal a pre-coffee kiss?" His lips touching my ear as he whispered in a soft tone.

"I don't." My eyes close in anticipation as I turn around and encircle my arms around his neck.

❃❃❃

This story is exclusively my imagination, it may be reasonable or unreasonable and I wouldn't tolerate it if someone makes the entertainment of my imagination (In a bad way).

Any resemblance is purely coincidental. This story is entirely mine and only my imagination.

If anyone is enthusiastic to steal my plot then dear gently shut the device you are using because I have low self-control and it wouldn't take me seconds to connect you with some bittersweet messages whenever I find it out.

Thank you!
