Ezra Foster's POV.

"Put this on" I tell Yejide.
She's been out of house arrest for a bit now but I'm always cautious.

I hand her the bag of clothes Iris lent her. I haven't looked at them, but Iris says they're good for movement.

She takes the clothes and goes back into the cabin to change, so I wait for her.

A few days after the vision, she spoke to Iris about what happened and after writing it all down, Iris said that she would look into it as much as possible.

I also recently got a message from Nephelae, recently with results about the images of the mark, which I gave to her.

She says that it's an ancient tribal tattoo that could very well have just been hidden through the use of a protective spell or spells and is making an appearance because of triggering events.

But that's all she's got.

I'm gonna hold onto that information until we have more information from Iris, so that we can piece it all together.

"Ezra. I'm ready when you are" I hear Yejide say.

I look up and my eyes immediately widen.

The baggy clothes she was wearing before did well to hide her body, and the large extensions to the tribal marks.

They are now all along her left arm, the left side of her chest and her stomach, ribs, abdomen down to her hip and thigh.

"You're staring" she says and I snap out of it, turning away.

"I- erm, they don't have a training ground nearby, so I found a clearing to work with" I say.

She nods.

"Okay let's get going." She says, so I start to walk with her.

There is an awkward silence.

She has been undoubtedly tense these past couple of days.

And it's understandable.

She told Sol and I about the nightmarish vision she had, and it even made me shudder.

It was intense.

Once we get to the clearing, I think back to all of the training we've done.

She's gotten a lot stronger.

She can now actually land a decent hit, and she can run for a lot longer.

"Let's start" I say.

She nods and gets into fighting stance.

I grin at how bold her stance is compared to the first time.

I circle her.

"Go through the combinations I taught you" she nods.

She starts the combinations of kicks and punches I taught her.

I thought she was good.

Until now.

She's amazing!

Her reflex is psycho.

I pull out a blindfold from my pocket.

Time to intensify it.

"Yejide, you can stop. Come here" I say.

She walks up to me and she looks at the silk blindfold.

"What is that for?" She asks.

I look at her.

"It's to test your reflex." I tell her.

"Turn around" I say.

She nods and does as I ask, turning so her back is to me.

I tie it for her, making sure it's tight, but not too much.

My fingers brush her neck, as I finish tying it, making her shiver.

I smirk.

"Don't get too relaxed. I'm not done with you yet" I say into her ear.

"Ou, kinky" she teases.

She loves teasing.

I lean in some more and I bite her neck gently, sucking.

She gasps softly.

"You have no idea what the extent of my kinks, Yejide" I say, smirking  and then giving her ass a light slap.

She chuckles, but she sounds a little breathless.

"Now let's go. Do the combinations. And this time, I'm going to act as the attacker. You defend." I say.

I move to stand in front of her and I get into fighting stance.

Without warning, I throw a well aimed punch.

She dodges it easily.

Good.

I throw another, followed by a kick.

She dodges the punch and blocks the kick from hitting her in the side.

With a new height of speed, she throws a hit that I catch to the stomach.

"Good" I say, slightly winded.

She smiles a little.

She's a lot better.

I underestimated her.

She grits her teeth, waiting on the next move.

Good.

Before long she'll be ready.

"Ezra are you okay?" Yejide asks.

I lay on my back, breathing steadily as she hovers over me.

I grin.

"I'll be fine" I say.

"Once I get cleaned up and rested, I'll be fine. You did good" I breathe.

I look up at her.

The light that escapes between the trees falls on her skin and hair, making her look otherworldly.

I look at the tribal marks all on her skin and she sits next to me.

"I never did say thank you, for all of this" she says.

I smile at her.

"It's my job to train you. You don't have to thank me" I say, standing up.

She stands with me and I take her hand.

"I promised you I would look after you" I say, looking into her eyes.

She opens her arms and she wraps them around my torso.

I smile and hug her back, burying my face in her hair.

She smells good.

Me on the other hand...

I pull away, feeling a little conscious.

She looks at me, confused and then looks away, making her face expressionless.

We walk back in the direction of the main village.

Tomorrow is our last night.

I hope Sol found the information we want.

Just as we arrive, the man himself is speeding over to us.

He looks tired and stressed out.

He immediately turns to Yejide.

"My dad has requested us to dinner tonight. We need to dress formally and we need to be on time" he says all at once.

I'll teach you both everything you need to know about formalities and you will both address me, and him properly. Just for formality." He says.

I look at the frantic state Sol is in.

"Sol, just who is your dad?" I ask.

Sol gulps, and glares at me a little.

"The current alpha. I'm next in line. That's why we have to be formal" he mutters.

I immediately look at Yejide.

She looks emotionless.

"I need to find Iris. She helps me out with clothes around here" she says with a shrug, walking ahead.

My heart immediately drops and looking at Sol's face, I can tell that he feels similar.

She's normally the most optimistic out of us all. The brightest and most energetic.

But after that vision...

All of that light...

Is gone.

I look at Sol.

"We need those answers" I say.

He nods, putting a hand on my shoulder.

"And we'll get them. I trust my dad. He'll help us. I know he will." He says.

I nod and watch as Yejide disappears into the crowd.

I hope Sol is right.
