stolen glances
"Finan is that Bára" Osferth questioned the older man, nodding his head over in the direction he had seen the small women.
There wasn't any question that he had become smitten towards his Lord's sister. Only knowing the girl for half a day, he was intrigued by her beauty. It didn't matter to him that she was a seer, that she followed what he believed to be false gods.
"Stop your staring Osferth. If i didn't know any better i would say you were a creep." Finan huffed out a laugh at the monks now beating red face. Sihtric joined in, "Oh should we tell Uhtred, that he wants to hump is little sister."
"Like you two don't" Osferth said with a glare, is face still a bright red. "We all think she's beautiful baby monk, but Uhtred would have our balls if we touched her." Sihtric said looking back where they had spotted the girl, now long gone into the hall.
"I hope no one saw Styrk, that would be embarrassing" Bára mumbled to the wolf, dropping her cloth as she closed the door behind her. Walking over to the pile of clothes she had left, she looked over her options, a long gown and corset or a buttoned shirt and trousers. She opted for the latter.
After dressing she walked down back into the main hall where she was greeted, well bombarded, by Osferth, Finan, and Sihtric.
"Lady here is some stew, I figured you would be hungry after today." Osferth blushed, holding out a small bowl of stew and a partial loaf of bread.
"Thank you Os, and please just call me Bára. I am far from a lady." She spoke smiling at the blushing monk. The innocence radiating from him brought a warmth to her thighs, wouldn't it be nice to ruin him, she thought to herself.
Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, "If you three would like, you can join me while I eat. I would love to tell you the embarrassing stories of Uhtred." She giggled at the wide eyes they each gave her.
"You will do no such thing sister." Uhtred yelled from across the hall, sitting with Ragnar and Brida.
"Oh get off your high horse. Remember when we went hunting and you have to kill a hen and you scared it so bad it popped out an egg. You cried for weeks that you killed an innocent egg." Bára let out a loud laugh at her brothers now red face.
"Remember when you tripped over a goat and sobbed when you thought it was dead. When it had only fainted." Uhtred barked out, laughing at the girl's embarrassment.
Uhtred had missed the banter between him and her, they have done this since they were children. He turned his attention back on Brida and Ragnar but not before catching the look his three man gave his little sister; want, love, happiness. He could tell from that alone, his men would do anything to protect her. As much as it pissed him off in that short moment, he knew they were the best ones for her.
"Uhtred was always a sweet child. He was the best big brother and made sure I got any an everything I wanted. I remember when i wanted a new pendant for my necklace, Uhtred went and found one that he could buy, he even sold his shoes for it." She spoke with a smile on her face, toying with the small pendant that still lay on her neck.
"It's beautiful, just like the one wearing it." Sihtric said with a smirk, causing Finan to laugh at the girls blushing face.
Knocking her shoulder with his, she turned to hide her face into Osferth neck, giggling as the boy startled. The four continued their conversation, filled with laughter and mindless flirting, before Bára deciding to head to bed.
"Alright boys, I am off to bed. Keep out of trouble." She told them, giving each a small smiles before walking down to be with her sister, in the cells.
"Thyra, I brought you some dinner. You don't have to eat it all, but at least try." Bára spoke softly to her still frightened sister. Thyra only nodded her head before grabbing the bowl from her hands.
"I'm staying here with you. If you are more comfortable here than so am I." she spoke, walking to the bed to sleep next to her sister, the hounds, and her wolf.
"I love you Bára." Thyra said softly, smiling at her baby sister who was drifting off into sleep.
"We're leaving in the morning. You can join or you can stay with Ragnar and his men." Uhtred spoke softly, whispering almost, as he held his sister close to him.
He wanted nothing more than her to join him and his men on the journey back to Coccham, but it was her decision last.
"I cannot leave you again Red. I will always follow my big brother, wherever he plans to led me." Bára said with a smile, looking over his shoulder, she could see the three men she grown a liking too. That alone made her decision much easier.
